They'll give your spot away the second you're late make, only 1 attempt to contact you, leave no voicemail then when you show up just say sorry and look completely lost. Really big and spacious Petco in this gorgeous shopping center! There is plenty of parking in the front and the store is well-lit and feels very clean and open. The staff here is super friendly as well. Prices at Petco are a little higher than what you would find online but it is expected. I recommend you stop by! read more

We always have a good experience here as shoppers. We stop by frequently for puppy treats and sometimes mealsworms for our gecko. We got an appointment on line for grooming for my dog who has a mild to moderate heart disease about 6 months ago. On the day of grooming, we were told that we needed a doctor's note for them to groom her. The office did not give us a call at least a few days before to tell us that we needed a doctor's note. We set up another appointment today ready with our doctor's note. Again this appointment was made on line about a week ahead of time. This time, the front office tells us they cannot do it because there is no Vet on site. Again, they should have called us ahead of time to tell us this requirement. They have a cancellation policy of 48 hours but they do not review the appointment ahead of time. Why wait for us to get there to cancel our appointment??? My time is as important as theirs. Very poor customer service. Also the price they indicate on their website does not include the additional fees of post grooming services. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I don't even know where to begin. I made an appointment for my cat for July 7th, they told me they would call me a day prior to confirm the appointment. July 6th arrived and no one called, so I decided to call myself to make sure the appointment was still good for the following day. I called all afternoon and no one answered. We show up the next day and they told us that his appointment was actually for the 8th, that someone had called in to change the appointment. That is absolutely not true, and they could've told us that if they would have answered the phone. Fine, we come back the following day. The groomer came in with the WORST attitude, rudely started asking why we wanted to bathe and cut my cat's hair. Excuse me but why is that any of her business what we choose to do with our pet? Then with that same rude attitude proceeded to tell us that they needed to put some kind of cone on him, and if he wasn't cooperating they would not provide the service? I've been a cat owner for over 16 years and this is the first groomer that has said that to me. And again, if that was their policy, the logical thing would have been to tell me that the moment I made the appointment. Or if they had answered their phone, I could've asked them about their policies. No one told me anything. The ladies at the front desk were just as rude. They refused to speak Spanish with my mother, claiming they didn't know how, even though they spoke with her in Spanish the day prior just fine? The cat groomer, the ladies in the front desk, EVERYONE was absolutely AWFUL. Seriously appalling how unprofessional these people are, maybe Petco should consider getting new staff members that actually treat their clients with respect. Never ever coming here again. read more

The PETCO grooming personal are very unprofessional They gave me an appointment for my dog and because I arrived 10 mins late they re-schedule me for a week later and I accept. I went to my re-schedule appointment and they let me wait like 20 mins. and a worker told me that I didn't have any appointment I was so mad because the person who re-schedule the appointment she didn't book it. So, I got another appointment for a week later at 8 am, I assist to my dog's appointment and the stpd person told me that she can't take my dog because is 14 yrs old and they don't accept old dogs. Always have a wonderful experience here, we have two bigger dogs, a golden retriever who we have bathed, deshedded, and trimmed up, they always do an amazing job on her, and then we have a husky who we actually shave, the heat is too much, and between the two dogs the fur balls are horrendous. I want Corporate to know that SUSIE was rude and just sounded like they don't want to do the job.... customer service sucks!!! Two weeks ago, I made an appointment for my maltipoo for today. The groomer for my dog came and told me I need to bring my dog to the vet as they are best to get my dog shaved! I was surprised as I have been bringing my dog to a Petco store closer to my house, i came here in this location as they're one of Petco stores who provides grooming services during the covid-19 situation. I never had any issues before with my usual Petco store, and was never refused grooming services for my dog. SUSIE was telling me all things about safety of my dog, and that the Vet place would be my best bet in case my dog would have cuts/nicks!! What infuriated me more was the fact that she even said I should know better because I'm a nurse (???), I had my ID on, she probably saw that. I asked if they can just maybe give my dog a bath and do a sanitary shave since I already have the appointment, and she just flatly refused and said they CANNOT touch my dog until after I bring her to the vet for a complete shave. Hahaha, like I would still need their service after that. I find that really disappointing, just pure unsatisfactory customer service!!! I have a found a place closer to where I live, accomodated my dog just fine, with no BS about Vet and bleeding/cuts or whatever!! I will be bringing my Luna here from now on. I am absolutely IN LOVE with this location. I have taken my baby Poof here about 2 times before and have always had good service. But this last time was amazing! My dog is usually very anxious and gets scared easily when taking a bath, but our groomer was this tall lady with a lot of tattoos (I think her name is Susie), amazing customer service and beautiful smile My dog was so at ease with her, you can tell she loves her job and animals because when i got my baby back not only was he looking the most handsome he ever has but also so calm and excited. Apparently they had her in the male cage the whole time and I thought it was a male until I went into an adoption center and told me he was a she. PSA!! DONT BRING YOUR PUPPY HERE. If it's your pups first cut, they probably wont give them a haircut. My dog went in for a bath, puppy cut and sanitary cut and only got a bath and his face and paws trimmed. My dog didn't growl or bark, they said he was whimpering and wiggling a tiny bit because of the clippers so they didn't cut his hair... most dogs are probably going to be nervous and whimper or wiggle around a little so why aren't these people trained to deal with that? Sounds to me like they just don't want to do their job. On top of that, I scheduled an appointment online for 3:45, and got called back asking to schedule it at 2:00 instead because her shift ends at 5. Confused on why they have bookings for 3:45 and 4:00 if they aren't able to do it at that time. Coincidentally, my dog was finished right around 5:00 and she didn't even finish her job of cutting my dogs hair. She was able to cut around his eyes a little, but it's noticeably uneven. Whoever manages this petco, please train your employees better, it should be their job to be able to handle a dog wiggling a little bit. We've taken our mini schnauzer for about 1 year and were satisfied. Our last time there we were extremely dissatisfied with the work they did. First, they cut his ear, I understand these things happen and they called me to let me know. What really upset us was that they cut his facial hair. Schnauzers are known for their bushy eyebrows and their beards. We did not receive a call as they claimed they did, and cut it off because they said it was matted. In his 13.5 years we have never needed to shave his beard. When we complained, the manager was less than sympathetic, she said she taught they called me. I managed to somehow kill my mom's mean flowerhorn fish. Yes, mean. He was often seen trying to attack me (and only me), whenever I sit near his tank. Anywho...he's dead. Not sure where I went wrong. Water change? Chemical imbalance? New feeder fish in tank? But, oh, was I given the biggest guilt trip ever. Poor Kisame...R.I.P. Too bad he's too big to flush down the toilet. So, he got buried in the front yard. Hopefully, wild critters won't dig him up and he'll make, uh, good plant fertilizer. Also, if you have a Petco card membership, you can benefit from sales and discounts. One cool perk that I enjoy is the buy 10 bags of the same brand of dog food and get the next bag free. I've always brought my dog to Petco grooming because of their great work on my prior dog and current dog. I recently brought in my medium sized dog to get his nails trimmed since they were getting long. I chose to get, as they call it, the "nail cut" and not with the "nail grinding." Pricey as it is at $10, they did a terrible job. I did not notice the bad nail trimming until I got home and saw they left the nails square-like with sharp edges. I decided I would go back and see if they could fix my dog's nails with a simple nail filing, free of charge since they had done a careless job the first time. I come back to Petco in a couple days and ask the cashier if someone in the grooming area can help with the issue I had with the bad nail trimming. He brings over the groomer and I tell her the issue. She is reluctant to do the job in fixing the nails, so she tells the other groomer. The second groomer is also reluctant to do the job because of "commission issues." She then goes and asks her manager, comes back and says I have to pay for the additional nail grinding if I want her to fix my dog's nails. I tell them that they had done the nail trimming before and never had this issue. The nosey cashier then starts talking and saying, "oh, you have to pay extra for nail grinding, that's how it goes." After they told me I had to pay for their mistake, I left. I could see that they do not put their customers as a number one priority. The Petco store itself has great products, dog food, and dog essentials. However, now that I had this simple issue that could not be resolved by three employees, I am now planning on going to PetSmart for my dog's grooming and product needs. Save yourself some money and time, don't go to the inexperienced and overpriced grooming center at the Eastlake Petco. All they care about is their commission and not leaving the customer satisfied with your pet's grooming. read more

I didn't see the manager but I was looking at a really cool water dragon lizard and I was about to take a photo on my phone (no flash...) when this heavy set woman who works there told me "please no pictures" so I asked why. She said it was their pets and they don't want people takin pics. I don't do snapchat or Instagram so this was solely for me. Recently had my long haired chihuahua groomed at the Broadway Petco. Hindsight is 20/20! My poor Uno. I had asked that he be shaved as the summer heat was just-a killin' him! First, I was pretty outraged to find that the price was like $50. BUT, the nail clipping was ONLY $5. ???? So, for 55 bucks, my sad lil' man was completely and utterly butchered! My 5 year old niece could have done the same job, and I could have paid her in hugs and kisses! When I complained, I got the "shrug." Didn't bother to complain to management. A simple call to schedule a grooming took 10 minutes of being put on hold 3 times and eventually hung up on. Then when I left a voicemail as directed no one called me back. Rude, subpar treatment of anyone. How hard is it to just let me know I'm sorry we're unable to help you at this moment, or sorry for the wait, or were experiencing issues at this time please call back. I work nights and my days are limited on when I can call during business hours. Don't waste my time. Don't hang up on me. And actually return calls! read more

The grooming department here is absolutely terrible. Every time I bring my dog in, the groomer updates me on things that were already discussed at drop off. The manager always feels the need to chime in as if the message was not literally just relayed to me a second ago. They called me days before my appt and ask me to bring my dog in to make sure that he was washable and with no mats. They simply do not have the patience and skill to deal with these pets. You should not be asking your clients to come in an extra time so that you can decide how much work you have to do. I've been going here for 3 years with the same pet. They say they have no notes on him because they have a new system. That is not my problem. All the good groomers have left. I honestly don't know why I keep coming here. I suppose for the convenience and also the hope that there is actually someone who knows what they are doing. If I could give you 0 stars I would. My husband and I have a sick elderly parrot and our vet advised us to but a terrarium and a ceramic heater to keep her warm and comfortable in the hopes that she gets better. Mark G. not only went out of his way to help us but he was so compassionate with us. He is an asset to Petco. I have written another review about another wonderful employee at your Spring Valley, Ca Unleashed store and after meeting Mark G. I want you to know what great employees you have. Not a huge fan of Petco... generally can find the same items a bit cheaper and not have to worry Im going to find dead animals in their cages/aquariums like I always seem to manage at Petco. I only go here after I forgot to go to PetSmart or one of the non chain pet shops. Sadly I managed to get fleas at my house so the dog/cats needed to be taken care of and I was in a time crunch. Positives: Has pet stuff... Negatives: Lackluster staff, not terribly interested in interacting with customers unless absolutely required. Couldn't find Cat flea stuff for the life of me and after getting a headache going through the dog flea stuff I decided I would get the cat portion from PetSmart! Pain in the ass to find anything even with the themed isles. Again, its fine, nothing special and I prefer to go elsewhere if I can. read more
