Horrible customer service! Every time I visit this store, I leave pissed off. The lack of care and service is disgusting. Every person I have talked to there was lazy, not willing to help. Just the most recent experience- I simply asked for a buggy tonight because I was buying a 35# bag of pro plan, and wanted to buy some toys on clearance for my 8 rescue dogs. The response was poor. "They are outside to the right" So I set everything down and go outside. No buggies. No help. He shrugged as we watched me struggle. So I put all the toys back and only checked out with the dogfood that I carried through the store and out to car. Never was offered any kind of help whatsoever- These people need to wake up and find some happiness and kindness in their work - or move the hell on. If that was my store, would not be tolerated. Ms Erin is super friendly, knowledgeable and overly patient. I have a new shelter pup, who has very high anxiety and is reactive. By the end of the appointment, my pup was all warmed up to the team and comfortable. Erin is consistent, as she has helped me with both of my dogs (pitbull and a lab mix) with their anxiety, and one's reactiveness. I'm not sure what was going on with the lady that was working this evening, she had light brown hair. We came in 40 minutes before close, looking to purchase a hermit crab, substrate, and a few other care items. We looked around the isle for 10-15minutes while the lady that works there was helping another person get crickets, she knew we needed help, but ignored us and we had to run around the store to find her again. When we finally got ahold of her I asked what substrate she recommended she said "idk our hermit crab specialist is not here" so we said okay, and told her that we would like to get a few crabs, she asked the size of our tank, we told her a 20 gallon, then she asked how many crabs we wanted and we said maybe 2-3 (it was more of a question then insisting) her response was "so do more research" "hermit crabs need a lot of space and you can only get one". I would like to make it clear, I do not have an issue with only getting one crab, I have an issue with the way she spoke to us as if we were uneducated when she could not even tell us what substrate to get. (Mind you, we have owned hermit crabs before for many years). After implying that we didn't do any research, she did not care to help us with anything else to ensure we had everything that we needed. We had to go to a different pet store to find even basic hermit crab care items like food, water bowls, sponges, and a spray bottle. Do better read more

Such incredibly rude employees. It's so draining to get crickets here. Today I was asking about what to feed our blind rescue gecko and the employee was so incredibly rude to me. She couldn't help me as there are many geckos she stated. I told her it was a leopard gecko. I won't be returning for their food here sadly. My review is for the Vetco staff located at this store. I brought my partially blind & deaf dog, who's quite scared of the vet, to this location for a vaccine and the staff was absolutely amazing. I called every veterinarian clinic in town for two days straight trying to find some kind of help for my pup. I called Vetco this morning is about 930 and they were able to get me an appointment by 11 AM. My pup showed signs of diarrhea and use the bathroom on the concrete outside as well as in the front lobby, I was extremely apologetic due to the circumstances. They told me that this wouldn't be the first mess of the day. They greeted me with open arms. They treated me with the most respect. they immediately put me in a room with him, asked me valid questions and was able to assess the situation and come up with an amazing plan. They sent me home with They sent me home with an IV bag made sure that I had the information for everything that they as well as informed me that they would call me the following morning to check in. Scott, is a very sweet and thoughtful person as well as the vet Dr. Diane Roggenthen. Both came in with care hands and loving hearts for my pet! I want to thank you both for your help! read more

I went in to buy crickets at this location. They go ahead and charge me. An employee brings me the crickets, and it honestly looked like about half. So I asked if it was the correct amount. she then offers to recount which I appreciated. she then comes back to let me know there were actually 15 too many and not to worry she removed them....... my complaint was there were not enough. she did not show me the counter. Very upset I speak with the cashier (who was very nice) and I asked for the manager. Suzanne comes up and just looks stressed. she obviously has a lot to do. I explain what happened and she didn't really have any kind of response aside from "I'm sorry". No one would give me the name of the employee that gave me crickets, but she looked young with medium long black hair. I would have appreciated the manager recounting and at least assuring me the amount was correct, but she couldn't be bothered as they were rushing to close as it was about 30 mins til. At that point it was obvious no one really understood that the employee was out of line and the "manager" was eager to just get away front the front. I got my crickets refunded and went over to petsmart. They were friendly and she even Said she'd throw in a couple in case some die on the way home. TLDR: Don't go to Petco unless you want the souless husk of empty brained employees taking out their pathetic frustration on you. Go to Petsmart! This store is the actual worst! Every time I go in, the shelves are half empty. Yesterday I checked online to make sure the item I wanted was in stock (it was) so I headed out. I get there and it's not in the shelf. Grab an employee to help me and he brings be back to where I was looking and says 'Yeah it should be over here or something.' When I tell him it's not but the website says it's in stock, he said 'oh yeah our numbers are off' and then just walked away. Seriously?! Walked in to get a toy for my dog, paused because there was yelling. The dog trainer was in the middle of a class, in which she had cornered a growling adult Rottweiler into the back corner of the little arena, and was pressed up against it to keep it there. She was jerking its choke chain repeatedly, looming over it, yelling at it, and shoving a finger inches from its face to point at it like a naughty child. This went on for several minutes with no changes while several customers and I watched. Keep in mind, this also happened immediately next to the owner of the dog, and there were several other owners and their dogs in the enclosed area as well. I cannot begin to explain how horrifically dangerous what she decided to do here was, and an extremely bad example to anyone there for training. This is the same trainer that, without asking me or even speaking with me, threw a treat directly into my dog's face the first time I brought her into the store. read more

I booked an appointment online. I was also sent a confirmation to my phone number and email. When I looked on the app this morning the appointment disappeared. I called vet care and Kylie answered to see what happened. She was completely rude and unhelpful. When asked for customer service number i couldn't hear what she was saying so when I asked to repeat it she hung up on me. I am a frequent customer at the Norman location and none of the staff would ever act that way. I am glad my appointment was canceled because I wouldn't want someone like that caring for my animal. If asking you to repeat a phone number frustrates you that much is concerning. read more

I took my senior dogs to get groomed for the second time at Petco. Their previous groomer has retired. The first time, Austin groomed them, and it was wonderful! He was patient with my dogs and let them get comfortable with him. Unfortunately, he was not available the second time. The groomer who checked them in was not welcoming when I arrived and was not courteous when I let her know that my dog has cancer and a paralyzed leg. She later called to inform me that the new groomer accidentally cut the smaller dog. I was not upset because she was new, but the experienced worker was rude when talking about her! When I came to pick them up, the older groomer said it was "groomer's word over everyone," that it's always the healthy dog (rather than the one with cancer) to worry about, and that my dog was banned. I have never had a bad experience with a groomer, vet, or dog sitter. The groomer was never welcoming! I will not return to see them. read more

KATIE, who "groomed" my dog basically told me they couldn't trim my dogs nails and struggled to even bathe her. She said it was my fault for not bringing her in for 3 months? Sorry we've been in the middle of a pandemic? Have you been living under a rock or are you just that rude to everyone? She basically said it wouldn't be possible for me to bring her in to be groomed there because she is too skittish. She is a 7 month old puppy!!! Don't get your dog groomed here!!! They shaved off my dogs nipple and we noticed after we brought her home and called to ask them about it and said she probably scratched it on a bush. We don't have any bushes in our yard she could of scratched it on. Do your pet a favor and go somewhere else, PetCo is trash and does not care for your animals. read more

I went in today to get a gecko... I asked if Adam was there (because he is the expert when it comes to lizards). The lady at the register told me he was not there until the morning. So I preceded to ask her if she could help me with the lizards. She told me that she couldn't help me because the geckos "run and bite"... so basically she couldn't help me. I asked her if there was someone else to help because she "couldn't". She said no and told me to come back some other time! Shouldn't there be someone there who can help with reptiles?! That is unacceptable.... needless to say I won't be back anytime soon! read more

Go elsewhere. Petsmart and many other places, are better. This place will give different quotes for same services, up sell-but not perform the services (nail grinding vs nail clipping) and prices start out higher than many other-better-places. The place smells, cleanliness just isn't to be had here. It is ok if you have extra money you don't need and low expectations. read more

Walked through to get some dog food and saw the grooming salon manager "Caroline" being rough with a small dog and at one point it looked like she hit it, it all happened so fast i had to just walk out before i got upset. Ive read several complaints about this grooming salon being terrible with dogs and now i understand what they are talking about. I will never shop here again or take my dog here. read more
