I'm calm now. But this was the worst experience. I did trust them. And with turnover in staff and the employees not caring about what matters.... I will never even buy a dog treat here again. No manager comes out with blue hair saying they are going to call the police due to me not paying for services not rendered. They would not give me my dog until I paid over 50 dollars for services not done. They wanted 67 after I said I wasn't paying for the haircut they did not do. Awful experience. I have taken my dogs that has seizures several times to get a bath at this location. I followed all the rules of the company and made sure to get him the VIP service. I was told if a dog has seizures you must do this service. Today they decided they NO LONGER see dogs with seizures disorders. 15 minutes after dropping him off, I was called to come pick him up immediately. The general manager was NO help! I've found that the Petco has very good products, the fish and shrimp and plants all seem healthy. They have knowledgeable staff available and their customer service is good both in the store and online. The pricing is competitive. I recently bought some cherry shrimp on sale there and they are doing very well so far. One did die and when I took it back, they gave me a refund. I like the convenience of being able to run over to the store if I need something, much easier than traveling to Nashville or doing things online. read more

Addressing fish specifically. My kids got a fair fish and I've kept that guy alive and thriving for 5 years. Went to get him a fish friend for his nee upgraded 20 gallon tank and Petco tells me that if I want to get another fish, I need a 40 gallon tank. I want you to think of the size of a 40 gallon tank, for two little fish. They refused to sell it to me, saying it'd be better off crammed in their store tank with 20 other fish because they have professional tank filters. Huh? My issue: 1. Meanwhile, they have betas, tons of them, in tiny cocktail sized cups in the end caps of the fish aisle. They're there for long periods of time, IN TINY CUPS and it's not unusual to see one in a tiny cup, not looking so good. Betas don't count or? 2. I adopted a cat from there that came from a spay and neuter place in Kentucky. A whole cat. I filled out the application, handed it to them, they literally looked for 10 seconds and said "congrats, you qualify." So I can adopt a cat from there with literally no questions asked about the environment I'm providing, but you won't sell me a fish? Interesting priorities. Ok, I won't be back. But seriously. Doesn't matter if you made an appointment on not... so so long and never pick up the phone, also very rude when I show up after 5 hours to pick up my dog thinking they forgot to call me... hate for him to sit in the cage for hours and wait for his turn. I have taken my dog to petco grooming twice and they did a decent job. My husband just took him for a third time today, but they refused him because he has a history of seizures, which they have known about since the first time he was there. He hasn't had a seizure in years and has been well controlled on meds, has never had an issue in 7 years of grooming. I am pretty sure this is medical discrimination. I will never go back to petco for anything again. I would rather support a small business. read more

I have a very nervous dog who is scared of people and I have never taken her to a groomer. I have always just bathed her at home. She was in desperate need of her nails trimmed and she won't let me do it. I have always just had her vet do it. However, we just moved here from Ca and I haven't established a vet yet. So I decided to give petco a try and see how she does. I had the best experience. At check-in Izzy explained to me exactly what to expect. I told her this was my first time so she thoroughly explained everything to me and was patient and answer any questions I had. She didn't try and up charge me for services I didn't need. She told me about how long it was expected before my baby would be ready and she was spot on with the timing. She also didn't do anything that would freak my dog out. My dog was scared of the dryer and the grinder so instead of freaking my dog out she towel dried her and clipped her nails perfectly without having to put her the any trauma. I knew that Izzy took great care of my baby as when I picked her up and Izzy was going over everything with me my pooch didn't try and leave. She even kept going over to Izzy (who seemed very knowledgeable about breeds and temperaments) to get more pets and love from Izzy. I had a great first experience with taking my dog in to have a nice bath and get cleaned up (she is a German Shepard so no need for shaving). She smells so clean, her nails are impeccable and she is happy. When I brought her in her tail was between her legs and she was very scared. When I picked her up her tail was normal and she seemed happy. I highly recommend Izzy for your grooming needs. From check in, to pickup and payment everything was wonderful! Not this location, but bad service from Petco online ordering. Be very careful with repeat deliveries from them. Their system has some difficult quirks. I discovered a charge from Petco.com for almost $50, but I hadn't ordered anything from them. It turns out this was from an OLD repeat delivery order I had...I thought I had put all my repeat orders on hold when I had moved from that address. After moving, I changed my address in the Petco.com site, but apparently, that doesn't update the address repeat orders go to! Their system doesn't alert you when you change the account address that you need cancel and reorder any repeat delivery orders in order to have them ship to the new address. So, because their system is incomplete and not user friendly, they have shipped product to an old address even though from all appearances I had done what I needed to do. Yet, Petco won't refund my money even though I never received the product. Added to other issues I've had with Petco, I'm done with them. Petsmart and Chewy will get my business now. read more

I recently had a horrible grooming appointment and subsequent customer service experience at this Petco. I took my pet in for a standard groom and bath and whoever handled her did so in such a horrible manner that she looked like she had been trimmed with a machete after it was done. They shaved half her body down to the skin, didn't touch some parts, and hacked off fur with what seems to be no rhyme or reason. She looks awful and the result was not even close to what I had paid for. I called the store after I saw her (someone else picked her up for me) and asked what could be done to fix the problem. The person I spoke to was initially very cold and defensive, but she informed me that I would receive a full refund. I called back a full week later when the refund still hadn't come through, and the person I spoke to told me that I had been misinformed and no refunds could be processed without a receipt. I did not have a receipt as I was not informed that I would need to hold onto it. The rep I talked to this time was much friendlier and sounded like he genuinely wanted to help, but he said a refund was not possible and that was that. Overall, very upsetting experience and lots of confusion/misinformation. Hopefully her fur grows back before winter. read more

This store smells bad when you walk in. The first two times I went in, I had to wear a mask so I didn't notice the odors. However, yesterday (6/21/21) I didn't have a mask on and it smelled like they were covering up decay with a cleaning solution. Yuck! Several of their fish tanks are covered in algae and their store is just messy. All live creatures deserve care at the basic level. The ones at this store seem to be neglected and tanks not maintained. There were several dead fish in some of the tanks and the snails looked dead too. I'm never greeted when I walk in and the associates don't seem to care about providing customer service. I will take my business and money elsewhere. read more

Her demeaning attitude, smart ass comments, and inability to own up to her own mistakes is unlike anything I have ever seen. How this place has not filed for chapter 8 to go out of business yet is a mystery the world may never know. Even your own employees were looking at you shocked by your shameful behavior and horrible attitude. If you hate your job that much, there are plenty of places hiring that you would be much more qualified for! The dmv would be my first option for you. She did a great job of losing our business forever and I am disappointed in myself thinking you would even try to make it right. I haven't had an issue with Petco grooming until today. My dog was kept here for over 6 hours and even had an accident in the kennel due to him being kept in there for so long. I have always been quoted 3-4 hours max for a grooming time. My dog is terrified of kennels and had a horrible experience. The groomers here do a good job cutting the hair but their system to rotate dogs is horrible and takes so much longer. I do not recommend if you have an anxious dog that isn't used to being in a crate for 5+ hours. read more

The part that frustrated me was that the item I purchased was a 28lb bag of kitty litter and they can be a bit awkward. I also had had my cane with me. They have the fish, small animals & reptiles. They also have a couple cats far in the corner for adoption. I looked in the cat treats & couldn't find it. I asked an associate where they would be & she led me to them in the medical section. I was shocked to see the price of them. They have them priced at $9.99. PetSmart sells them for $6.99 & usually on sale at $5.99. Amazon sells them for $4.20 as an add on item. I ordered them right then & there in the store. Talk about some HIGH prices. read more

I could not believe what I witnessed when I stopped in to get my dog to his grooming appointment. While I was checking my dog in, I saw a dog getting a haircut and the groomer was aggressively yanking his chin downward and angrily cussing at the dog while doing so. I asked to speak to a manager and her response was so poor that I decided not to follow through with my dogs appt because I didn't trust putting him in their care after seeing a dog being treated poorly. It was abuse. The manager only said they'd review things later and look at the video. When I called later to check in they said the video camera was not pointed directly at groomers so she couldn't see enough from the footage. The manager also tried to go have a conversation with the angry groomer while I was standing there and the employee yelled at the manager. Crazy all around! Please think twice before leaving your animal in their care. They cannot be trusted and unfortunately your dog won't be able to tell you what happened when you pick him up but if he or she acts fearful after your visit, you'll know why. It's really sad that places like Petco can get away with animal abuse. That girl should have been fired on the spot. Especially since she cussed at me too simply for saying, "I'm watching, please stop treating the dog that way". read more

Took our dogs to have their shots at the vetco clinic inside Petco. I thought it might be a cheaper option as we had moved to the area recently and did not want to drive back to the vet. It was not cheaper and in the end, I still have to go to the vet, pay for the visit to get the prescription our dog needs. So if you think that this is a good option, think again. Do not do business with this store. The manager of this store is horrific and miserable. I hope Petco actually reads these reviews because she is hurting your store. I purchased two defective inflatable dog collars here that were very expensive ($80) and brought them back immediately because the seams were splitting and my dogs could still lick their wound. The manager was sooo rude and completely refused to work with me because I didn't have my paper receipt. I didn't keep the paper receipt because I had no intentions of returning it. When I tried to show her the American Express charge at her store for proof of purchase she refused to look at it. I asked her if we could locate my transaction or if I can call a mainline to locate the transaction for a copy of the paper receipt.... She refused to work with me. When I asked if she could at least give me store credit because these were two defective items.... She refused to work with me. She kept repeating it's time for you to leave the store! I do NOT recommend this Petco at this particular location. The staff seems miserable. The groomers I encountered with had no professionalism. I walk in 3 minutes before my appointment and they just stared at me... i initiated the conversation and I thought for sure I was at the wrong location or I looked like an alien to them. Not a welcoming feeling. I'm actually shocked that I even allowed these people to even take my dog into their hands. Other dogs that were waiting in the kennels were barking out of control. I was quoted 2-3 hours and we are currently going on 4.5 hours. This is ridiculous. I am not writing this review because I am impatient with the amount of time the groomer is taking... but their system is awful. They must be over booking. I also feel sketched out that some of the groomers may not even be trained? As another person said below, do NOT take your dog here for the groomers even if it IS YOUR LAST RESORT!
