We originally had an appointment scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026. Upon arrival, we were informed that the groomer had called out and our appointment could not be honored. We were then rescheduled for Monday at 12:30 PM. When we arrived on Monday, we were told that no rescheduling had been recorded and that the day was fully booked. Another appointment was then made for Tuesday, May 5 at 2:30 PM. Today, I received a call stating that my dog could not be seen because the appointment had been incorrectly booked during the groomer's lunch time. This is now the third time our appointment has been mishandled. What makes this even more concerning is that I clearly explained to your staff that my dog is dealing with irritated anal glands and needs to be seen as soon as possible. Despite this, we have been repeatedly rescheduled with no urgency or accountability. At this point, being pushed out to Sunday, May 10 is completely unacceptable. This pattern of disorganization and lack of professionalism is extremely disappointing and, frankly, unacceptable for a company like Petco. This is not okay. At this point, we will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

Petco on the way home so it's very convenient to order ahead and pick up. They always have the stuff I need for my pets. The only thing that I hate is that when you order for drive up pick up, they never come out so you end up going inside. I've ordered here so many time with this option and I've never received the order in my car. I also don't know where to park since there are no designated parking spot for car pick ups and end up parking right in the front where traffic is always passing. It's inconvenient. I stopped by this Petco to look at some fish and also animals after a long stressful day from work due to the AWS outage. I came before lunch so the plaza was not that just and finding parking near the front was easy. This store had some nice fish, geckos, snakes, spiders, birds and hamster out on the floor to look at. The employees here are very friendly and are ready to help when needed. The prices on some of the items here will vary so if something is too expensive then just shop around. read more

He is so patient with Frank, always runs on time, and when Frank is done he always calls both my fiancée and I if one of us doesn't answer the phone which is really appreciated. This is only about the GROOMING dept. The store overall has been good... I've been bringing my pets to this Petco for grooming services for years. While I always felt the customer service in the grooming department could have been better, it was never bad enough for me to complain -- until now. Ever since the Petco on Tampa in Northridge closed, the service at the Granada Hills location has noticeably declined. Since then, my appointments have been canceled multiple times. The first cancellation was explained as being due to the Tampa location closing and them being overwhelmed with bookings. I tried to be understanding. The second time, I was told the groomer had called out and they were short-staffed, so my appointment had to be canceled again. The final straw was when I arrived for my scheduled appointment and was told I wasn't even on the schedule -- despite the appointment being made directly by one of their staff members, not through the app. It had also been verbally confirmed multiple times beforehand. After making the trip and being turned away, I understandably expressed my frustration. What disappointed me most was the complete lack of apology or accountability. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, I was told I was no longer welcome in the store. After years of being a loyal customer, the entire experience was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. read more

I scheduled my dog's bath here due to availability. Upon check-in, the staff asked me if my dog was on any medication. My dog has hypothyroidism, and she's on thyroid pills. The grooming staff, including their manager, Jacob, doesn't know this condition. I've taken her for her baths at other Petco locations without any issues, and now RoseMary told me it's Petco's policy not to provide grooming service to dogs on any medications! Worst customer service encountered from this Petco location. I will NEVER SUPPORT this location and will give my business to PetSmart instead. read more

Melissa did an amazing job grooming our Kura! From the moment we arrived, her warm and friendly energy immediately put both me and my dog at ease. Kura can be a bit shy and hesitant, but I truly believe Melissa's calm, kind presence made all the difference! She said he was so well-behaved throughout except for when she trimmed the hair on his left paw ( which i am most grateful for coz he can get antsy sometimes!) and the results speak for themselves. I haven't trusted anyone with Kura's grooming in a long time because, more often than not, the job ends up looking rushed or sloppy. But not this time. Melissa's attention to detail and genuine care stood out from the start. I can now say with absolute certainty...we've found our person!! Pros - Our 2 dogs needed vaccinations so we jumped online to find something same day & great news we were able to find something that day not too far from our house which is a huge plus! They have everything you need for your pets! Staff was very friendly and informative! Cons - they don't truly honor the appointment system. They did not check appointment times and had people with later appointments going in front of us. Then when we were supposed to see the Vet - the person that was behind us in line was being served! We had another appointment this day so for them to just be randomly taking people from the line was very frustrating! We were there almost 2 hours! Once we finally got in with the Vet - they tried to upsell us while we were trying to wrangle 2 large dogs and were frazzled. We first said yes to the upsell but once we stepped back and thought about we removed it & it would have been an additional $300 on top of already very expensive vaccines! These are not cheap! That alone was off-putting, but the customer service made the experience even worse. I completely support educating people on proper animal care, but there's a big difference between teaching and shaming. On two separate occasions, employees spoke down to me in a rude and condescending way. It made the whole visit uncomfortable. On top of that, the prices seemed really high. I walked in expecting to get a simple setup for a couple of goldfish, and somehow, I walked out $200 lighter. Maybe that's standard, but it definitely felt overpriced. Overall, between the lack of cleanliness, poor customer service, and high prices, I won't be coming back. read more

Dropped by to check out the fish and plants. There was an employee tending the fish area who dd not say a word to me even after passing by multiple times. Saw an alternanthera reineckii tissue culture. The employee at the register was nice enough. She said they price match but it was weird cause when she checked the website, she said the instore and online items are different so she couldnt price match. Fair enough even though they're the same aquarium plant, name, exact size and brand, Imagitarium. Online its labeled background, but its own description says mid ground, yet the in store version says foreground lol. So I guess thats just a Petco thing. Probably should clear up the product inconsistencies. So she just sent me back to check the product. I always take my dog to Porter Ranch location and they do excellent job, their water was contaminated and they asked me to reschedule so unfortunately I took my Golden Doodle to this petco location. The worst decision ever. I took my dog with lots of hair and when I went to pick up 1st there was no one available at grooming, I picked up my own rate sheet went to make a payment hoping that they will call someone, after that the manager walks up as if something was wrong the cashier said she is paying to pick up, no one is at the grooming. I didn't realize that the manager was worried until I went to pick up my dog and the manager refused to bring him out, he said he has no right and the groomer is out to lunch I have to wait for him to come back. Groomer comes back he goes to bring my dog and comes back without him telling me he spilled water need to dry and then bring him out, so I wait. After he brings my doodle out OMG he was shaved to his skin with a red cut on his head. Groomer told me its because of my raiser it got hot and it did this to him. He said we can cover the Vet cost for you to check up make sure he is fine. I requested a refund of $150 and told him I will take my doodle to his own vet. They gave me a healing cream and refunded my money. We came home and the entire day my Teddy was scared, every time I tried to pet him he would jump up, he was sick to his stomach and had diarrhea yet in the morning he was completely fine! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS TO THIS PETCO FOR GROOMING! Elvis has no idea what a groomer is, he needs extra studies and training. Look at what they did to my Teddy! Anyone knows a good lawyer please recommend. Today 08/12 3rd day since then he can't lay on the floor he goes on the bed so his body doesn't hurt. Recently adopted a kitten, and was given a 20% off coupon from the shelter to use here. We had only had the basics, so we planned on spending quite a lot of $ here. Wasn't going to happen. No one, and I mean no one, works the floor of this place. One cashier, and that was it! Finally found someone who was working in the Guinea Pig cages and asked for her help. She acted as if I was bothering her routine. Only purchased a bag of food, since that was immediate. Headed over to Target, yes, Target afterwards. Found the nicest guy who also just adopted a kitty. I visited this store today and was immediately confronted with blatant rudeness and an unprofessional attitude. A salesperson named Chris (a woman) was indifferent and rude to a simple question--where can I find a leash for a puppy that's used in a car as a seat belt? I'm not a troublemaker and kept my cool. A young salesperson passing by helped me in a matter of seconds--that's an example of professionalism and culture. People like Chris should be fired. They're a disgrace to the company's name. And people like that young man should be encouraged and held up as examples. This store should be avoided. My dog had a 9am grooming appointment: however Petco doesn't open until 9am. The grooming department opens at 7am. So in the past everyone just slides the door open to get to the grooming department and slide the door back. First you call the grooming department but most of the time they are so busy no one answers but I digress. I came in one minute before 9am but didn't slide the door back because they were opening anyway. One of the employees with Petco felt the need to come into the grooming area just to tell me " next time you come in the door make sure you slide the door back" in THE MOST disgusted way with an EYE ROLL :( I told her that the only reason I did that was because it was seconds before it turned 9am anyway. She went on to say with an attitude " it's not 9 am so" Listen, I'm all for following protocol but with only seconds to spare until opening the store didn't warrant me to be scolded like a child with an attitude. It's all about great customer service and had she approached me with great customer service in a kind way of telling me to shut the door.; it would have changed the whole experience for me. This store needs a separate door just for the Grooming department so this can be avoided in the future. I shop and come to this store frequently so would still recommend it, but that rubbed me the wrong way and felt I needed to shed some light on a dark attitude. They could be making these little fishes lives better by giving them a clean tank to live in. This is so heartbreaking and disturbing to see. I want to clean the tanks myself. I've been going to this Petco for grooming for 10 years. I adopted my dog from one of their adoptions and today I was told that my dog cannot get a grooming because he is on medication. They said Petco's policy is dogs on any medication cannot get groomed. I have never been asked this and I was just there last month and my dog got a grooming. They said that they should have been asking this whole time. This is unacceptable as I've been going there for 10 years and there's never been a complaint about my dog. Are you telling me that not one dog that goes to this Petco isn't on some sort of medication besides flea and tick medication. All of those dogs that are getting the "VIP" treatment don't have anxiety. All of the golden retrievers or German shepherds aren't on any hip medication or any pills to help with their bones and they're all accepted. Shame on you Petco shame on you. read more

I don't normally leave reviews but staff was so rude. I went yesterday for an item and I was looking for a worker and I only came across one. I asked him for help and said to wait for someone else because he was busy. We waited about 10 minutes for someone else and once he got there he told us to basically figure it out ourselves. He couldn't help us look for the item and was rude too. Both workers who were on the floor were extremely disrespectful and their customer skills were extremely poor. I get it, it might get busy at times but no need to be rude and disrespectful to others. Never coming here again. Jessica the "manager" needs to get customer service skills. She has no I idea how to talk to customers. Let me preface this by saying I have been a customer of Petco for at least 20 years. I have shopped at many cities at Petco and I have never had a regular employee be rude let alone a manger. I needed to exchanging an item but without a receipt. However I have my pet pals account. It was a few days after their 30 days and so the "manager" had to be called. She started out by saying that she was doing me a favor of returning the unopened item and that that cannot happen again. I was like ok.. Then she followed by saying that if the item cost was more than what I was getting I needed to buy something right then and there. Again I'm thinking why is she giving me so much unsolicited info? I asked is this something new? She said no it's clearly written on the back of your receipt. Then she said she needed my ID because they can flag accounts of people who are constantly returning items. I ended up owing money so now what? There is always a way to speak to people and if you work with the public you need to be properly trained to do so. You can say things without being rude. I'm surprised she still works there with so many complaints on Yelp about this manager. Petco corporate will be notified because I have spent thousands of dollars for me to have a bad experience.
