Very disappointing experience at Petco. I stood waiting in the fish area for about 15 minutes while three employees were at the counter talking and laughing. No one acknowledged me or offered assistance. When I approached them for help, one employee told me I would have to wait another 30 minutes because she was going to lunch and no one else would help me. It was extremely frustrating to hear that directly after already waiting. I have been a regular customer at this location for the past eight years, buying feeder goldfish for my Oscar fish. Loyal customers should not be treated this way. I work in the medical field, and there are times when we do not get breaks, but we still make sure patients and customers are taken care of. Customer service should be a priority, and leaving a department unattended while customers are waiting is unacceptable. I hope management addresses staffing and customer service because this experience was very disappointing. read more

I do curbside pickup at this location monthly for my dog food. I always order the same bag of Hills Science Diet dog food in salmon flavor.This last order they accidentally gave me the wrong flavor and gave me chicken. My husky is allergic and can't eat chicken. Since it was curbside, I did not notice the mistake until I got home. I went back on to my app and tried doing another curbside order for the correct flavor with the intensions of just returning the chicken flavor for a refund back to my credit card. Never had problems with Petco before and figured this wouldn't be a problem since it was an obvious mistake.The app said that the Durango location was out of the salmon flavor, so I was forced to order it from the Blue Diamond location which I did and picked up with no problems. Today I went into the Warm Springs location to return the chicken flavor. Because my online receipt said salmon and the bag was chicken, they would not refund it even though it was their mistake for giving me the wrong flavor to begin with. These bags of food are not cheap so I would have preferred a refund back to my original payment method but instead there was one bag of salmon on the shelves, and I had to do an exchange. Ok, fine I will eventually use it anyways. The problem lies with the manager who was called over to handle it who made me feel like a thief and like I was trying to pull one over on them because my receipt flavor didn't match what I was returning. She claimed the employee who actually pulled my order said she knows for a fact she pulled the correct flavor. Well, that person is either lying because she doesn't want to get in trouble or she is just mistaken because that it not what I received.Clearly you can look at my order history and see I am a regular customer for years and years and that a mistake was just made and that consistently I order salmon. To make an already frustrated customer even more upset I grabbed a bag of Oxbow guinea pig pellets, and the bag was 17.99 which I can get at PetsMart for 12.99 same exact thing. I pulled it up on my phone to show them and to see if they would price match and she shrugged her shoulders and said no. As someone who has been a manager before myself, I would have done whatever I could within my power to rectify this situation by finding a coupon or overriding the price or something to make the situation right. Instead she acted like she could have cared less. Well sadly Petco has lost a longtime customer. Train your staff better! read more

You guys really disappointed us. My husband and I have had a well-established turtle and fish tank for over 3 years, and we've always added fish without any issues. We've consistently bought from your store this whole time, so being suddenly told "no" because we have turtles made absolutely no sense and felt completely unfair. We are frequent customers. We come in for dog food, fish supplies, turtle supplies, tank gear... all of it. We've never caused any problems, never had any issues, and have always supported your store. So the way we were treated this time honestly caught us off guard and felt really upsetting. We've lived here for over 20 years and have never experienced customer service like that before. We've been a customer here for over ten years and sadly, as of today, our relationship is terminated with this location. After our long term groomer Teagan was pushed out by the management here we decided to give this Petco one more try to keep our business. We have two dogs and groom here regularly. Today we walked in to absolute chaos. The doors were locked and when we were let in we had a new groomer which we expected. We checked in our dog and told them he took his allergy medicine this morning as he always does and they cancelled our appointment! We have never had this problem before, nor were we informed of this policy. We spoke with the manager on duty, Sharlene and to be honest, she should not be in management. Her response to us was "too bad". I asked her if she was willing l lose a customer of over 10 years and she could only say "it's our policy". My husband and I are in shock by this disgraced level of management. Not to mention I had to take a pit stop in their bathroom and it looked like a bathroom in a third world country. Awful service. Very rude employees and unprofessional. I went to pick my dogs food up, he is on a prescription diet and has been for FIVE YEARS. I was in this store TWO WEEKS ago buying this same food no problem. Today when I get to the cash register the guy working has me standing there holding a bag of dog food while he chit chats with someone not cashing out. He finally waves me over (no greeting, he is still chatting) he scanned it apparently my prescription has been expired for a year? Then why did they sell it to me two weeks ago and two weeks before that? He tells me I need to go talk to the vet that's on site in the store. I walk over and the receptionist at the onsite vet, with long blonde hair, is sitting at the desk playing games on her tablet. Again, no greeting, I have to speak up. She immediately dismissed me saying I needed to call my vet and have them issue me a new prescription or my dog would not be able to get my food. Keep in mind the prescription is for LOW FAT. No medicine. She offered no further assistance and literally went back to playing her game right in front of me!!!! So rude. So now I'm on my way to my vet to purchase the food there. I am so unsatisfied when returning the dead fish. There were two lady cashiers chatting near the cashier station when I walked in , I asked to return the fish and one lady says "it's so gross!" and she walked away. if she means to work at a pet store.... She should quit the job. The other lady looks like on duty , but she made a super hard time of returning. She asked me the sample of the water which I don't have that with me. I have 2 cats but am allergic to dogs so when I noticed the option on the Petco app to drive up for a pickup order, I was excited to use it. Ended up waiting in the parking lot for about 50 minutes. I didn't want to rush them so I waited - I thought maybe they were still looking for my items. I tried calling them and "reminding" them through the app but they didn't pick up nor respond on the app. When I realized I'd waited more than 45 minutes, I decided to go inside. When I told them I had a drive up/pickup order, they had no idea. The employee told me they were understaffed (only 3 employees) and had lots of customers. I told them I wouldn't have minded walking in if they had picked up their phone and told me. It would have took them only a few minutes. Also, when I walked in, there were only 2 other customers besides me...Not saying they weren't busy before but I know they weren't busy the entire 50 minutes I was waiting. I usually order delivery from Amazon but I had to go inside and risk an asthma attack. Luckily, there weren't a lot of customers (contrary to what the employee said) and no customers had brought their dog in. I don't blame the employee completely but why would Petco have this option if they're not staffing their stores properly? The Warm Springs Petco is a convenient location for me, but I would go out of my way to go to this specific Petco location. The employees are extremely helpful, and knowledgeable. However, there is one employee I will always ask for, Melissa. Melissa goes out of her way to explain products and show me to the store aisles to make finding the products I need easier. She is knowledgeable, and especially took her time explaining one day what gifts to buy for a Chihuahua, a breed I'm not familiar with, but needed ideas of what to buy for my neighbor's dog. When I used to come here before, I didn't get much help but lately they have been eager to help. My dog, a Maltipoo who has always been well-behaved during grooming sessions, recently had an unfortunate incident at Petco it's what the staff reported to me where she "tried to bite one of the technicians". When I went to pick her up after her session with Teagan, I received a distressing report about my baby's behavior and was informed that due to their company policy, they could no longer service us because this happened under their care. To make matters worse, the Asian lady who delivered the news looked me dead in my eye saying there is nothing more we could do but find another private salon which made it clear how heartbreakingly rude! Upon further research ,I found out that Technician Teagan has previously cut one of their dog's neck while working on them. This whole experience from start to finish was awful for both myself and especially first timer pup. After moving from Long Beach, CA three months ago, my furry companion needed regular grooming treatment so we visited petco only be told by staff member they wont service us anymore because of "Policy Violation" because my dog try to bite and she poops without any care or understanding towards our unique situation and worries as new customers who trusted them with fur baby grooming needs just for awful experience all around including discovering the particular staff member responsible had cut another dog on previous occasion prior to ours showcasing lack of professionalism accountability from company overall. Located in the Desert Marketplace on the southeast corner of Warm Springs and Durango. You'll go to find lots of parking, especially since it's perfectly situated within the shopping area that doesn't see as much foot traffic as its neighboring stores. I'm afraid to see something cute in the Cat section, then buy something, then be tempted to get a pet cat. If only I had the time and energy I totally would. No matter what kind of little animal (or big animal) you have they have lots to offer for our family friends. The prices for different products varies but they have some pretty great sales and steep discounts at different times, just make sure to sign up for their rewards program to get all of the benefits and perks of shopping there. The associates are very friendly and are very willing to assist you with any of your questions. The associate that helped me in particular, I apologize for the lack of remembering her name, was so patient with me and helpful. I was having a bit of a struggle with using my rewards account but she was able to kindly and patiently walk me through the process and guide me through my incompetence LOL. But the personnel make the store. An outstanding young man named Cameron assisted me with my purchase. After asking some questions to identify what I needed he directed me to the exact product. His friendly demeanor, knowledge and attention to detail were greatly received. I tried to speak with a manager to express my pleasure, but was unable to do so. Took my dog to be groomed at this location. I told the girl who was taking care of me about my past experiences with dog groomers and how they have cut up my dog so bad he had to get five stitches. She told me to not worry and she would take good care of him. I picked up my dog and she didn't say anything. Just told me how good he was. I get home and find that he was bleeding under his neck and under his arm. Would of been nice to have had a heads up. Acting like you didn't make a mistake isn't right. Bought a Betta fish on Saturday for my daughter. Fish was dead by Monday. Store policy is I have to bring in the fish's carcass to get a new one. I was never informed of this when purchased the fish. I tried to speak to an associate and the store manager and got nothing but store policy diatribes and snarky attitudes. I requested the Regional Manager to return my phone call. His name is Taylor. Of course he never did. I wasn't trying to get a free fish out of the deal. I just wanted acknowledgment that this store sold a faulty product. I was more than prepared to spend another $15 on a fish to make my 10 year old happy. The lack of customer service here is unforgivable! Horrible customer service. I've been going to Petco grooming for several years. I LOVE EVA! Please go to her if you really do need someone to give care. Long story short, I wanted more of a cut for my dogs and ask Eva recommended not to go shorter, I respected her wishes and wanted to just go an inch shorter and went to another groomer. He gave me an example cut, looked good, I said as long as we don't see pink skin. I get my husband to pick them up, I see them, they were all pink (showing their skin!)! I called and gave them feedback. It escalated to the manager. Then when I took them in for the second time, the manager and another groomer took them in. Upon pick up, I needed to get in and out of the store. The manager was so aggressive by not listening to me when I said I had my dog's leashes and they were good. She kept grabbing them and talking over me. It was so stressful as I was also 8 months pregnant. I just didn't go in for grooming for months. I did a vet visit, but it wasn't in the clinic. It was in the middle of the store. lol. I still get notifications that their vaccines have lapsed. ‍ This week I tried to get them just a wash, but I've been blocked on the app. Online customer service said it was unusual to be blocked just bc of a bad cut in the past. So they said they will "ecalate it" then I got a call saying the GM will call in 24 hours. Then I got a call from the same manager woman who caused all this mess bye! read more

Worst customer service at grooming! Told me that needs a Doctor note due to my dog's age (being 15 year's old exact) when I called to make the appointment. However, when I show up with the doctor note which states my dog is in fit condition for grooming but the groomer still refused the service according to their policy..which I wonder if their policy says no senior dogs at Petco. If I could give a zero review I would. My dog was groomed there by a groomer named Teagan. She shaved her face too close and for a month and a half the sides of her were cut open and 4 vet appointments later she is finally good. The groomer is still there. She shouldn't be able to work near a dog ever again. I rescued this little one to give her a better life and now without Petco in her life she will. read more

Relieved to find a pet store I stopped in here to pick up dry dog food for my furry friend. It has been too long since I visited a Petco. I was able to find everything that I needed to make Sugarbaby happy for a week maybe. With a new bag of dog food, new chewies, and treats. This store is fairly new and very welcoming. The staff here are not very energized about their jobs, but they are friendly. The store layout is easy to find the dog aisles with picture aids above your head if a guest needs help. As I wander the aisles I happen to be the only guest here and the store energy seems to be very lonely and longing. Not sure why maybe it is because all the cages are empty with no animals to adopt and bring life to the store. I found the dog aisles and there are so many different types of dog food that one can chose for their dog. I decided to try something a new one from a brand of dog food never heard of, but it is grain free. The brand that I selected was Canidae. It happened to be the bag my puppy smelled so in essence she chose it. I like the brands saying on the bag which read pet food made by pet people. With my dog not being brand specific to a certain type of dry food. She just needs the dry food to be grain free and she will pretty much anything. The check out process was painless with the cashier asking for my phone number. Then a swipe of the card and we were on our way. My dog could hardly wait to leave the Petco since she wanted to sample the new treats too. She needed to make sure that they would not hurt her. Actually it took four treats to make sure they were not poison. Sure enough the treats were dog approved and with her approval we set off to our next adventure. read more

He implied in a accusing manner that my SIBERIAN HUSKY is part wolf. And I said oh no he is not. He is 100 percent SIBERIAN HUSKY. He said well he looks part wolf! Like I am lying about my dog's breed. I have no experience or business owning a wolf. Full or part wolf. And I definitely would not bring a wolf into a store where children are. When the groomer walked out I told her to cancel the appointment. He made me so uncomfortable and afraid. So since I cancelled the appointment that means my dog and I are leaving the store. Very disappointed in this store, and extremely disappointed in Tyler or Taylor whatever his name was. You shouldn't talk to customers as if they are dumb. You should've been taught from a young age how to listen before reacting, and you should've learned that your initial approach to customers will set the tone of the interaction. Sadly you haven't, and that will be your downfall. Petsmart was much better at listening and assisting. They showed appreciation.
