What I love the most about this grooming salon is that they make you feel comfortable. I feel safe leaving my puppy there. It is little far from home but my mini goldendoodle always comes here for grooming done by Aider. I love Aider's personality and how he handles my high energized puppy. Peter in the Little Neck, Petco, has been our groomer for our Lulu for well over a year. Lulu is a female Goldendoodle, almost 60lbs, and Peter handles her like a lightweight puppy! Besides having a gentle demeanor, he is a fantastic groomer! We are never disappointed when we pick her up. There have been times when she has mats & Peter solves the problem with ease. I have been going to Peter for grooming ever since Mocha was a puppy. Peter is extremely helpful when it comes to my never-ending questions/request and overall an amazing groomer. I rarely trust anybody with Mocha, but I know she is in good hands when I drop her off with Peter. He never tries to up price you or encourage you to purchase unnecessary products (this has happened to me before at a different groomer and it gets uncomfortable.) Peter and his staffs been so accomodating! Given my busy hectic schedule, he lets me drop of my dogs couple of hours earlier than our appointment. One of my dog is a schnauzer and he is very insecure when it comes to grooming. I can see he gives the staffs hell but when I come to pick up my dogs, they are perfectly groomed. I know it will take Peter triple the time it takes to groom my dog but not 1 complain from Peter. You can see he really cares and loves animals and he is so patient! I have been to four different groomers in the little neck/manhasset area and I believe this specific petco is the best bang for your buck. I always go to Peter who grooms my Belgium Malinois every month. He does a superb job, from desheding to brushing his teeth. I couldn't have asked for a better groomer. Peter definitely takes care of my dog better than any other groomer I have used. After my dog is groomed by Peter, he hardly sheds. I will continue to go to petco as long as Peter is working there. read more

Just had a great experience at the Petco on Horace Harding Expressway. My sister just bought a new puppy and the staff was extremely helpful. Jennifer gave us list of items a new dog owner should have! Jennifer walked through the store with us and guided us on the essentials we would need. Petco Grooming services are a joke. Peter the groomer will do anything to not do a difficult cut!! I have a 10 month old malti pop. The first time I attempted to take her for grooming, Peter stated her vaccinations were not up to date. My vet stated they were. The second time I took her for grooming Peter didn't want to do it because it would be a difficult cut due to the type of hair the malti poo has. I'm very disappointed with Petco Grooming services and would definitely not recommend their services to anyone I know. read more

Peter has been grooming our Miniature Schnauzer, Bowser, for more than two years, and we have been very pleased with his work. He takes time to understand what we want, and he executes it so well. Peter is open to suggestions. We have experimented with different styles for Bowser, and Peter was accommodating every time. On our most-recent visit, it had been a long time since Bowser's last grooming appointment, and his hair was very matted. Peter explained what he was going to do with the cut and educated us about things we can do at home to maintain a traditional "Schnauzer Cut," in which the beard and leg hair are longer. I have been coming to this Petco for years to get my dog groomed. I highly recommend it. I was going to private groomers before and nobody compared to Petco little neck. Staff is great. They all are very caring and accommodating. Peter is the groomer who I use all the time. I can tell that he genuinely wants to do the right thing for my dog. He really cares. The Dog trainer here is a friendly helpful person. He has been with us a long time. The service here is wonderful. This store is deppandable and is a verture our shopping center. You can adopt a cat,bring home a teenage mutant Ninja yoga tuertal. The Quine pigs in the store are for hire, plenty of supplies. My cat may need grooming one day too. This place is highly recommend. Petco that's where the pet's go. McGruff the Dog is on patrol and he comes here for grooming when he needs his nails done. Let me start of by saying that I live in queens, so in terms of petco locations I'm limited to pretty much 2 locations I'd be willing to drive to until this location opened up. One of the first things I noticed is how organized this store is, I have never seen any of the different animal supplies mixed up. The next thing I noticed was how good they're grooming staff is, whenever I used to take my dog in for grooming it would be a struggle that usually ended up with me just carrying my dog from the front door to the grooming salon. Now since I started going to the petco little neck location, my dog is actually very happy with her groomer Charlie and runs into the salon to greet her. It has even come to a point where my dog will refuse to leave Charlie when I come to pick her up. In addition to my dog, I am also a fan of fish and have multiple tanks in my house. That being said I frequent the aquatics section of petco little neck and must say I am again very impressed. Not only does this store have a very wide and well stocked selection of aquarium gear and livestock, but the live stock are in very good health. What also makes a difference for me is the competence of the staff and how well they know their stuff. That being said I was very impressed with the level of knowledge of their aquatic specialist named David. After asking David a few questions about the fish I own, (to kinda see how much he knew) I was blown away by how accurate the information he provided was.
