I purchased 2 containers of the Super Worms meal works for my turtle at the Park City Petco. When I opened the sealed containers, most of the worms were dead. I picked about 10 live worms out of the first container and about the same from the second. That was $8.95 for each container and most were dead. I brought one of the containers in hoping to exchange it for a fresh one. When I approached the cashier, I explained the situation and he just stared at me. He didn't respond and didn't say a word. Just stared at me. I thought he may have been autistic. I started to explain again and he just yelled out the manager's name. The manager comes to the front and for the 3rd time I started to explain and she quickly cut me off. She said that once you walk out the door "with something like that, there is nothing we can do." You will have to call corporate. And that was that. Apparently, it is OK for Petco to sell containers of 50 live worms when 40 of them are dead and it's my problem. Thank you Petco for encouraging me to never go there again and give my healthy business to Petsmart. I have a dog, a cat, and a turtle and spend about $8,000 a year on them. All that is going to Petsmart. read more

very upset that their website in Park City says that they have a self-serve dog wash and it's closed. Please update your website if it's not open. There is no other place to wash your dog on a Sunday in the Heber or Park City area. It would be nice if they reopened this. read more

Took both of our long hair chihuahua's for nail trimming, wash and a slight hair trim on the hiney. Was specific about not cutting the ear hairs short on our long hair Adult 3 year old chihuahua. She came out after grooming woth Scarlett with all her ear hairs trimmed down to the base. Discussed with Tenny- On our 1 year old chihuahua, again specific instructions to not trim the top of her ears, just maybe to take a small amount maybe- on the bottom. She was cut down to the base hair at the tops and all along the back side of the ears with uneven chunks taken out. Along her Hiney, she has chunks cut out of her coat. when my wife picked them up, she was a bit too shocked to discuss this with the stylist, especially because they are very busy. Don't ask me how it is after the damage is already done. Only positive is that they did a good job with their little feet Customer service is terrible. No one answered the phone. I took my 1 and a half year old goldendoodle to this Petco to be groomed in early February of 2022. I was told it would take about 2 hours- that should have been my first clue that things wouldn't go well. When I came back to pick him up 21/2 hours later, I was horrified to see that they had scalped my poor baby. (They told me he was matted). The dog was excoriated around his genitals and rear. He was miserable and completely traumatized. He didn't sleep for 3 days and was constantly shaking. Do not take your dog to Petco for grooming!!! read more

Worst Customer Service! I was told by the girl in the fish department no when I asked for 5 of the tetras. She would only sell me 3. She was rude and condescending. My tank is large enough for 5 and tetras are schooling fish, they like groups of 5. I'll be taking my business down to Salt Lake. read more

Had a great experience here. I have a rescue dog who has anxiety issues so, therefore, I have anxiety taking her to things like grooming appointments . The staff here immediately listened to my concerns and adjusted their process to suit my dogs needs. (She doesn't like other dogs, is afraid of kennels and too much noise). Everyone was lovely to her and the energy was calm. So happy to have found a place that gets the job done without added stress. read more

Was greeted warmly when I walked in, and I appreciate the staff all wore masks. However it seemed messy with lots of items on wheeled shelving units around the store making it difficult to maneuver. I had the most pleasant experience at this Petco tonight, as usual! Adam (who was ringing me up next) could tell I had a lot to carry and told me I could set it down on the register closest to me. Instead of having me haul everything over to his side, he came to me on a separate register. He signed me up for a "paws card" since I had been using my exes for so long. He carried my heavy items out for me--even showed me of a little hole in the top of my bag so I wouldn't spill. A pleasant, polite, and helpful person made my night! HORRIBLE GROOMERS On numerous occasions I while there in Park City store, I have witnessed the grooming of dogs that howled and yelped in pain I HAVE COMPLAINED ! At the time the management made excuses for the groomer, so I vowed never to shop there again and have not. Yesterday while there helping a friend, I saw it again . A beautiful thick coated brown dog with black muzzle was being brushed. The groomer was pulling out the undercoat so hard the dog was yelping and yelping and got to the point it tried to bite her, while profusely panting . My daughter and I plus other customers were very upset. I complained to the guy behind the desk and nothing was done he stood there in front of her talking to her while she continued to brush the dog as it yelped in pain!! Half the time I visit, the store seems very disorganized with shelves pushed against each other, random piles of products, some aisles in disarray. A lot of things are usually out of stock, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that it's due to covid. The staff has always been pleasant and helpful. However, during my most recent visit, a gated area was set up in the middle of an aisle for what I'm assuming is a puppy class, but there was no puppy class in progress and half the products in the aisle were blocked by this gating. I asked if it could be moved slightly so I could squeeze in to grab some specific toys I wanted. They said they would move it, so I waited around for awhile but nothing ever happened so I decided to check out and leave. Pretty frustrating. I'd almost rather drive to a Salt Lake City store next time. read more

I love this place because in St. Louis where we moved from Petco didn't carry my dog food and we can get it here in 25 lb bags. They also had a wide variety selection of affordable dog doors. Awful experience with the puppy training course. It was to be a 6 week course. First week started out somewhat promising but for the second class, we were told to take our puppies into the store aisles and practice "stay" and ""come". Thought this would last for maybe 15-20 minutes and then we would move on in the curriculum, but it was all we did for the entire hour with the instructor occasionally coming by to check on our progress. Week 3 the instructor was a no show and a store employee filled in. Week 4 we arrived and were told the instructor was running 45 minutes late! There had been no effort whatsoever to contact us and let us know, and apparently, we were expected to wait at least 45 minutes for the class to begin. At this point, I asked for at least a partial refund. The employee (maybe an assistant manager) said there was nothing she could do and was extremely unprofessional and rude in denying us any sort of refund. In addition to the $160 for the puppy training course, we have spent hundreds of dollars in the store over the past couple of months, but it is clear this store does not put any value on customer service. I have contacted their corporate office to try to get some resolution, but I can confidently say I will never patronize the Park City location again. read more

When I just gave the 1 star they should really have negative #s!!! The Grooming was and always has been great! Jill has been grooming my 3 Aussies for years but the final (out of many) altercations, verbally with the manager "Kaitlyn" was the tip of the iceberg...She is the ultimate "Bully" and makes waves with clients and employees. She doesn't like me as I have not been a mask wearer over the covid nonsense theory that they worked. Plus my dog Bear is a barker when he is being groomed or in the kennels. She has thrown her authority around to have me banned from Petco, however I have gone above her head to corporate and finally reported her shenanigans to the people that matter. The grooming Dept in this store is awful. They ask you what you'd like done and don't deliver that. Management addressed the issue but when I was asked by email about the service and responded negatively a salon leader calls you. I returned her call, 10 days later, only to be told, "we are required to call a negative survey, do you have anything you'd like to discuss? " I said "well we aren't happy with it." She said, "okay, sounds good!" And hung up. The service and communication here is awful! Pet owners beware! read more

After using the "classy" pet spas in Park City I found that I was very unhappy. The change came when the place we were using (in Quarry Village) was closed for something like a month because of some family issue. This is after the fact that they were only open only on Wednesdays or something weird but I guess all that is for another review. I was not happy with this place to begin with (the groomed the dog fine but were rude, I'll elaborate later) so this was a perfect chance to try something new. First, when we walked into the grooming area the groomer woman lit up and came right over to our puppy. She bent down and started loving on her, our dog instantly loved her back (kinda rare because shes very protective). Unfortunately she has an excited pee problem, our dog, not the groomer ;-). I apologized embarrassingly and asked if they had some paper towels or something I could use to clean it up. The groomer would not hear of it saying that it was no big deal and she would take care of it. This was my major gripe with the other place. This happened and the owner seemed upset. Okay, I don't work around animals but if I did I would expect that accidents similar to this would happen, seems to me to be part of the job. Maybe that's just me, I don't know. Our dogs (we now have two) are part of our family. Leaving them with strangers is a big deal, I have trust issues. That being said, I feel totally comfortable leaving them at Petco. I feel that the groomers genuinely love our dogs and genuinely love their jobs. Oh ya, they also do a great job grooming. The wash/cut/spa package was just as good if not better than any of the "pet spa" style places. Over the past year we have exclusively taken our dogs to this Petco and have no plans of changing. It has that small town feel that when you walk in they know remember us and remember my dogs names, very personal touch. Went in to get some fish to add to our new tank. The girl with the stringy white and blue hair was 'helping' us and was extremely rude. She was rude when we were holding a snake, and when we went to buy fish she demanded to know what was in our tank saying she 'can't do her job until she knows' even though we knew exactly what we wanted. We told her what was in our tank and she refused to sell us any fish because we were 'at capacity' because we had some temporary fish that would be moved to a new tank soon. Extremely disappointed with our experience and will not be returning to that location. Will most likely contact the store manager about the situation. read more

This Petco is a bit smaller than the average mega box stores, but it has just about everything you need for your companion animals. This store is neat, clean and well organized. I stop in to buy toys and litter for my kitty when she is traveling with me. Friendly employees and lots of free and easy parking out front. There are people there who can answer your questions but they don't bug you. AWESOME GROOMERS We have been taking our wholly huskies to PETCO to get groom for 4 yrs now. We always have DeAnne to groom them. She does a GREAT JOB. We have been to other groomers in the area and PETCO is the best. Our huskies do not like to get groomed so they tend to put up a fuss while getting groomed. Some dogs do that when getting groomed. When we go to pick them up they are ALWAYS happy and look beautiful. People stop and say how beautiful they are, who does the grooming we tell them PETCO. Thanks DeAnne for ALWAYS doing a great job. Recently ordered dog food online to pick up in store. We are in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic and I wanted to pick up and go. When I got their they said I had picked it up already. I told them I had received that email but decided it was a mistake. I then received one telling me my order was ready. Since I didn't have my phone I drove home. By the time I returned the store was full of people. I am 67 and my husband is 68 and very high risk. I asked the girl at the counter if she understood I ordered for pickup so I wouldn't be around people. She said I had to speak with the manager who then said I had to come over where there was a cluster of people. I said no. He got rude. I got my dog food and left. Just to be clear, I don't care if your hair is blue or how many piercing you have. Just be smart and figure out what is happening with your own system. Won't be back. read more

Deanna and Jill are true dog lovers and do an amazing job on my 'senior' Tibetan terrier. If you don't know, Tibetans require very specialized grooming so if a groomer can do a Tibetan, they can do just about any breed. Ours is 16 and very fidgety. They are truly great groomers. Based on the previous reviews, I tried the Park City Petco location for my Goldendoodle's long overdue grooming yesterday. I went with the receptionist's recommendation and scheduled the appointment with Robin. The price estimated over the phone was reasonable and accurate after the groomer physically evaluated him and clarified my styling requests. Over a period of 6 years and countless groomers across the country I've paid anywhere from $35-$124 for some pretty mediocre service and at least 3 careless injuries. When I arrived to pick him up not only did he look amazing but he was totally relaxed and happy. Robin not only did everything I asked but her work was done professionally. Note: In order to pay, I was given an invoice to present at the regular checkout location but there was no option for leaving a tip-which I felt she well deserved. I opted for just handing it to her when I presented my receipt. I will definitely be returning here for future groomings! read more

Lots of selection and great groomers are found in the Petco, they do adoptions once a month and there is a ton of parking. My dogs get their spa treatment each time we visit, they get busy so it is worth booking ahead. read more

Jessie the dog trainer has been so helpful with her advice. We rescued a chocolate lab / pit mix that is over a year old. He is sweet boy but needs work. Jessie is so patient and helpful explaining his behaviors. We have had success with our 2 classes of one on one training so far. He even had a nervous accident today and she didn't even blink an eye. true professional. The only thing a bit hard is training in the middle of the store where people can watch you. The grooming staff is completely incompetent and very unprofessional. It took me more than 30 minutes for them to unsuccessfully locate my information in their system. And after spending 30 minutes having difficulty using their own system, they still did not want to even think to start me a new profile in the system. I gave up with the gal that was helping me and left. There's plenty of other groomers in the area. I recommend you look elsewhere. read more

What happened? The place is DIRTY! We use this Petco while visiting a few times per year. This summer I went to get food, etc and the floors were filthy, dried poo etc and nuggets in the aisle . My dogs were going after the nuggets on the floor and the girl said, "don't worry it's dog food" . I said I don't know what kind and my dogs eat a specific diet.
