So today I had to stop by to look for a costume for my cat "Peanut" Who would be very upset if my son and I dressed up for Halloween and did not get her a costume as well. The only thing that bothers me about this location is there still are so many items that don't have price tags on it and it's not easy to find out how much something costs when they're short on employees and no one is available to check for you. Shout out to all of the vetco team! Dr. Carbary has been there with both of my dogs from vaccines, wellness checks, and even when I had to put my 15 year old pittie down. Dr. Arnold has also stepped in and has always been fantastic and checks up on my current pups. DR. B is kind and loves what she does. On Saturday, I set up bath appointments at Petco on Walnut in Rogers, Ar. for our 2 fur babies. Sam was our groomer. It was our first time bringing in our fur babies for a bath and nail trimming. I was nervous because I don't like leaving my babies with just anyone. Sam was absolutely incredible! You could tell he is not only an animal lover, but he knows how to treat animals with love and kindness. Our shepsky, Sadie, was filthy! I was worried he wouldn't be able to get her that clean considering how dirty she was. Plus she hates the blow dryer! When we picked her up and she came home...I almost cried! Sadie was so clean, shiny, and fluffy! He fur was WHITE! as it shoud be! She smelled so nice and I could tell she was feeling so much better! We also had Twix bathed and nails done. He is an older chichi and does not like strangers. However, he must have liked Sam because Twix was extremely handsome when he came home! He smelled good, his nails looked great and his fur was so soft and fluffy! I cannot say enough about Sam!!! He went above and beyond!! I just had the worst encounter with one of the employees at the Petco on Walnut. I can only naturally assume that her name was Karen, and that she was the manager of the store because of the way she didn't help me, and looked so busy and full of herself and her self importance. I was trying to look at the fish, get some information on them and buy some, but there were no employees around. After a while of walking around, looking for someone and looking at the fish, I got curious because they had new fish in, acclimating in their bags in some of the tanks. I got close to see what was in the bags and when I reached up to touch one of the bags and gently turn it so I could see what was in the bag, this person from out of nowhere starts yelling at me to not touch the bag and that I can see what's in them when they're released. That was the end of the interaction. She didn't say "can I help you?" She didn't say "do you need something?" She offered zero help and berated me as if I was some toddler banging on the glass. It would be easier and less stressful on the fish for me to just take it already bagged, which by the way is what the Petco in Fayetteville does; they are so much more friendly and helpful, and their tanks are in way better condition too. (Speaking of stressful, this Petco put two lawnmower blennys next to each other in their small adjacent tanks and they were really trying to go at each other. Poor guys.) When I finally did get help from an employee that worked with the fish to answer my questions, his immediate response was "just go to Worlds Underwater in Fayetteville." Well, that's exactly where I just bought some fish, snails, a crab, and some corals. Amazing customer service there, beautiful aquariums, and healthy fish and corals. Worth the extra drive. Plus their prices are very comparable. I have no reason to go back to Petco. read more

Let me start by saying I don't come here very often. Every single I got some fish from here and they were sick and it wiped out my entire tank. I came in for a heat lamp for my bearded dragon since mine stopped working, I noticed these two on my way back there and my heart sank. These two beautiful snakes should not look like this. This is a disgusting reflection of the care they receive while there. They need vet intervention or someone who really knows what they're doing to help them. This is awful. read more

This place is ridiculous! The management staff is very immature and does not know the meaning of Customer Service! I brought up some issues to the main manager and when they couldn't resolve the issue I said, I don't think anyone knows what is going on. Her response, "No were just all stupid here!". Nice, way to manage a store and take care of your customers. I also had an issue with the grooming dept and when brought that up to the manager her response was "i'm sorry but no one is perfect!" Very expensive! Stopped in for some dog food and the prices were through the roof. I usually buy dog food from a farm supply store and wasn't able to get to one so I went to Petco. Paid as much for a small bag as I usually do for a #50 lb bag. Cashier was slow and kept saying "Huh?" That is not a response, that is a modified grunt. took our 7 month old Bernedoodle to be groomed. She did had some matting do to her long hair. She was there from 10:00 to 3:00. They called and told us Dolly was ready to go. Told them we was on our way. Not 5 minutes later was told to come get her now ands she was sick. She was not sick when we took her there. Said she had diarrhea 3 times and had to bath her 3 times. Don't know if they really did or not. Dolly didn't have that before she went there either. She was so nervous when we picked her up that she went home and was not herself the rest of the day. She had been groomed before and never had a problem with her. Not sure what they did to dramatize her but something was definitely done to ge her. She will definitely NOT be going back there. She still is having some problems with biting her tail and that she never did. But we can't see what's going on with it. Would not recommend them for grooming at all. read more

It seems that every time I go into the store there is a dead animal in a tank, wether it be a reptile, small animal or tanks full of dead fish. Just this last visit I found a dead bearded dragon, it had mold on its body and stuck feces on its behind. When I alerted a manager who's name is Kim she said he was fine and that is how they sleep. She walked back into her office. This is not the first time I have told her about a dead animal. I have been told by other employees that they are given orders to take care of item inventory first and to not mess with the animals because they simply do not have time. None of the reptile enclosures have the right temperatures, humidity or even correct bedding. The ball pythons all had severe stuck shed and looked emaciated along with the other reptiles. I wonder if the staff is even feeding them because I never see food out. What I and other people are seeing is neglect and this should be taken seriously or more likely the manager Kim should be charged with animal neglect and abuse. Petco please remove this horrible manager she is not a good example for the community and represents your company as an entity that does not care about an animals well being. With the proper education little things can change and it will make a huge difference to the animals health and also the relationship with the customer. I hope to see things change soon. read more

I can't say if this place is any good or not as I gave up trying to get an appointment. I called and after being placed on hold for awhile a robot voice instructed me to book through their website. OK, easy enough. But not really. Before you can make the appointment you first need to create an account, give them your email address, home address, name of your first-born child, etc, etc, just to get your dog bathed. Really? I can walk into any barbershop and get my hair cut in complete anonymity but get the third degree from Petco?!? I wanted to try Petco for grooming as it is closer to my home than any of the other grooming locations. I set up an appointment to weeks in advance for 10 AM. I dropped my dog off at 10 AM and was told that a bath and getting his nails done will take about two hours. 30 minutes after dropping him off I received a phone call saying that his bath was done and that he smelled good but he did not like the kennel and I should come pick him up. I went and picked up my dog and he was damp but did not smell good he smelled like a wet dog. I don't feel like any attention or care was giving it to my animals I don't see any difference in his nails and petting him lots of hairs coming off of my hand I don't think they did anything and I paid $50. When we walked in our groomer acted so happy to see Honey and Sarah. She actually remembered Honey's name and when I was surprised that she remembered her name, she stated, "Of course I remember Honey. She is such a sweet dog. " Which is true, but some groomers never take the time to know such things. As she was talking to me, she was bent down petting and talking to Honey like she was truly glad to see her! We bought a dog a couple months ago, so I am now a frequent shopper at this Petco. So far my experience has been great. LOCATION/PARKING: This Petco is located off Walnut in a convenient shopping center, with plenty of parking in the front and side of the building (Petco is on the East end). CUSTOMER SERVICE/SERVICES OFFERED: This location has always had great customer service. One of the first times I came here Anthony helped me for about 45 min to a hour. He was so informative and helpful. He helped me pick out the best things for my dog, from nutritional dog food, chew toys, treats, etc. I also signed up my puppy for a training class. He is a German Shepherd and about 3 months old when he started the training. The teacher for our class was Casey. She was a great trainer and so friendly, my pup loved her. He has graduated from the class successfully and I will be enrolling him in the next training class sometime in the future. PRODUCTS: They have a great selection of products here. I only look in the dog section and that has alone impressed me. A huge selection of dog food, toys, hygiene, and everything else you could possibly imagine you would need. PRICES: I think their prices are competitive. They have sells pretty regularly on items. I also have a Petco Pals Reward Card and I get dollars off for every $100 I spend, which happens quicker then you would think - especially having a German Shepherd who eats a lot already! Just imagine what he will be eating when he is full grown haha. I'm scared for my bill haha. At least I have this rewards system. read more

Cleanest petco I've been to in a while. They have a very nice aquatics department. Large variety of fish. The staff seemed to be a little stressed and came off as rude to customers. This is my "go to" store for fish related items. They seem to have a better selection and employees that actually care. My only frustration is the staffing. It seems every time I go, the employees are stretched so thin! I had to wait almost 15 minutes for some help because the poor guy was doing the cash register too! This isnt the first incident either. You can tell they are trying very hard but when things get busy and there are only two people trying to do do everything from registers to aquatics to dog food etc?? Never expect prompt and friendly service. We have 2 saltwater aquariums so we check out all surrounding stores for sea life and coral. Percocet never has good quality coral but they do carry standard salt water sea life. The normal and some hybrid clownfish, tangs, shrimp, and starfish. It's annoying that the staff doesn't know about the animals they sell and I saw them selling 2 incompatible fish to an unknowing family without warning or advice. Often we see the fish with ick or dead fish. We typically just check out stock and pick up pet supplies. Not a top notch place but it's mainstream. read more

I have gone to Petco on and off over the years with my Goldendoodles and they usually do a pretty good job. But the grooming job I received yesterday was exceptional! They seem to be under new management or a new program. They took personal care with each of my girls and tried to leave as much hair as they could, even though my one girl was a bit matted. Their nails weren't just trimmed but buffed smooth and their coat was so soft when they were done. And they sent us home with a card that had specific comments on the grooming experience with each dog. I felt this service went above and beyond - I'll definitely keep bringing them back and will refer them to friends. read more

I am very appreciative of the heart and dedication for the groomers at PETCO. I am in the process of getting a new puppy and everytime I go into the store I check out the grooming salon and am amazed at how clean they keep it. Petsmart is closer to my house and I was going to go there but after seeing a mess of fur and hair everywhere along the floor and walls and tables and not being able to see the floor I will go the extra miles to a place that I can see cares and goes the extra mile to provide a clean and sanitary environment for their "furry clients." I did complain to managers at Pet smart and they said they were too busy. There should always be a time to clean up after each client and I can see a big difference between the two stores. First impressions mean a lot to me and I'm amazed at what a difference PETCO makes each and everyday to strive above and beyond. Thank you PETCO groomers for all your hard work.
