I am very upset and disappointed with my last groomer. The previous 2 appointments they did a decent job. The prices are all over the place, I wanted a shedding treatment, hygiene trim, nails grinded etc. My dog came back with a ton of hair flying around my car,like if they never did the shedding treatment, his backend was left to long ,theytold me they would take care of it next time,next time! There won't be a next time!! They don't know how to cut different breads, at least not the staff they have now. You pay $90 !and still have to finish their job,trimming ,brushing I want a refund this is ridiculous. Totally unhappy Ozzy Fozzy bear won't be back,no thanks. read more

Well! It's good to see that they only got 2 stars...but I think they should get a lot less!!!! My complaint spans the entire egregious Petco organization. I have been telling all my friends what a horrible experience I recently had at Petco...and the worse part is they demonized me, at, what they tell me, at the corporate level. I have been shopping at Petco for a very long time, since I've been around a long time. I shopped at my local Petco when they were at another location and followed them. I learned, through the college-of-hard-knocks, that the crickets Petco sells are inferior to those sold at other pet supply companies. I would buy crickets, take them home and more would die than eaten. I complained to the then manager E**c (his encrypted name) who would give me a lot more than I purchased...sometimes he would simply give me crickets. Others would do likewise.... but I would still have dead or dying crickets. One day an employee of Petco, who had in the past given me xtra crickets, seemed to be counting the crickets in the plastic bag. (HOW IN THE HELL CAN YOU COUNT HOPPING CRICKETS?) I complained and she suddenly spazzed out at me... quite literally had a sever meltdown. I walked away from her looking for E**c...who told me when I found him to see him in the future regarding buying crickets. I left the store and went to another smaller pet supply company. The crickets I purchased at this smaller store have bred and lasted me for nearly a year. I have NOT had to buy crickets since. So, the Petco employee's melt down was a godsend to my pocketbook. It appears that Petco does not carry hardy crickets...as a matter of fact this was confirmed to me by E**c when I saw him next. He told me that there are hardier crickets. When I saw the spazzing employee I thanked her and told her how she saved me a lot of money and I suggested that she do more spazzing so that others can save money as well. Well, the next time I went to Petco to return an item (mealy bird food), I was met by a man I had never met. He smiled at me and told me that I was no longer allowed in their store. Why? He told me that there had been many complaints about me being 'rude' to employees. Rude? I have never been rude to anyone! I wanted to defend myself but Petco would not allow me to do so. They would not tell me anything! They told me that this had been brought to their corporate level. I will admit that I was so upset over the fact that I was deemed rude and that I was not able to defend myself, that I, at that time only, became VERY disagreeable--stemming from shock and frustration. I tried to call their corporate office. Well, here is another reason to boycott Petco. Unlike ZooMed, Petco is another egregious company who has outsourced their CS department offshore. Those folks over the pond do not want to help U.S. citizens... and try to get them to connect you to an American is IMPOSSIBLE! So, what does that tell you about Petco? (ZooMed, btw, is a great company with AMERICAN CS!!!!!) Needless to say, it appears that Petco employees can be nasty to you, can spaz out at you and have a meltdown and YOU WILL BE DEMONIZED. I usually take my dog to PetSmart for a nail trim but after moving this Petco was closer. The groomer seemed confident even after warning her that he doesn't like this. When done I was told I could not bring my dog back because he put her mouth on her (but did not bite) and she couldn't get one more nail. I never had issues with PetSmart who have been professional and experienced to handle an anxious dog. But that's fine cause I will continue giving PetSmart my business. I have a total of 3 pets and spend a good amount of money a month on them. read more

There was straight up mold growing in some of the reptile tanks on their food. The employees didn't seem to care when I told them and made it seem like it was a common occurrence.... Also multiple fish tanks had dead fish floating in them and the beta fish display had many dead fish. It was disgusting. Clearly they aren't taking care of these animals and don't seem to care if they are being taken care of or even given food. read more

I buy toys and treats here, get my dog groomed, and went through the puppy training program. Everyone is super nice, they really like interacting with my guy and he loves going to the store. I did feel a little pressure from the manager to upsell the second dog training class. I recommend the first 6 weeks as it really helped me get control of the puppy and I learned how to interact with him to keep him progressing, and the prices was good. But I do not recommend sighting up for both classes at the same time because there is no break, and your dog might not need 12 weeks. read more

Amber is the name of his groomer,she is a very caring,kind young lady.Benny loves her and behaves well for her because of her experience and patience. Generally, I'm not a big fan of big pet stores as they don't always carry the best stuff for your pets. I get my dog food from more of a specialty place, but I do stop in here for dog treats and fish supplies from time to time. The store itself is clean and staff is always friendly and helpful. I've asked the folks back in the aquatic area lots of questions and they've been very helpful. Prices are a little high and you can certainly find some of the treats cheaper at places like Walmart and Target. You can bring your pets into the store...just make sure they do their business outside first. read more

I love this Petco! But their cricket game is weak. I went to the reptile section and they only have boxes that say 36 crickets, there was only one live one in the one I picked up. When I got to the register I realized they bag up crickets at the front so I asked for ten small for my tiny leopard gecko, they only had a couple medium and some large, which I'm not even sure my girl can eat! No egg crate or extra air in the bag for the crickets, and they were ¢16 each! That's double what I pay at home! I guess reptiles aren't too popular around here, but I wish they at least HAD the bugs I needed. read more

As far as pet stores go, this is an everyday Petco - nothing special. However, the primary reason for the "meh" experience of 2 stars is the customer service at this location. I called to speak with someone regarding a general inquiry (expecting it to be no more than 2 minutes of our time), but was shocked by the rudeness of the man on the other end of the line. As he concluded the standard intro of, "thank you for calling..." the sentence blended directly into him announcing the total price of someone's order (i assume?). *Okay, so we're multitasking. no biggie.* I immediately realized he was busy so I made an effort to be extra friendly and get to the point. He cut me off as soon as he heard a word remotely associated with my inquiry, "there's no one here today to help you." *Well, isn't that lovely customer service?* Being given the impression he was too preoccupied to be bothered by a customer's call, I picked up an even friendlier tone and clarified my inquiry as it was SO general that I couldn't imagine not a single employee in that store was incapable of guiding me in the right direction. "I'm going to need to put you on hold." :click: He didn't wait to hear my response, he didn't acknowledge if he was going to help, he did what he NEEDED to do! Baffled, I sat on hold pondering what the heck I did to deserve such an abrupt and disrespectful response... *what happened in that store that triggered his temper?* Moments later, a woman picked up with the same intro speech (sans an order's total) and I explained my inquiry. Debbie, as I will give her props for her attention (+1 star), explained what I had to do and was so much friendlier that I felt the need to inform her of my shock in the man's attitude & how, as a customer dialing into the store, I didn't believe it was my fault to not know what may/may not have been going on in the store that caused him to be so stressed. It wasn't until she told me I'd have to come to the store to speak with the manager, Ray, that I recognized he was the man I just spoke with (and by 'spoke' I mean 'was interrupted by') *HE'S the general manager?!?* Debbie made a kind effort to apologize for his attitude (let's be honest, that's customer service. She had no connection to his behavior and was apologizing for her boss? there's another +star). Needless to say, she's the reason I will be going back - not Ray. In person, my experience has always been standard. People asking if I have questions, staff offering to load food into carts, other's reminding of discounts...but for the GM to be the one that treated me as if I was a burden, I'm honestly put off by this particular location. Problems happen, stores get busy, anyone who has a job knows what it feels like to be under pressure, but that wasn't my fault and Ray should have known that. If you call, ask for Debbie. Took my golden here to get groomed... big mistake!! The first time I brought him they did a great job, so I decided to go back... the second time I took him I said I wanted a sanitary TRIM just like how the lady did it the first time, this time they shaved his private area and balls down to the skin, nails weren't clipped either. The third and last time I took him I said I wanted an ear TRIM around where the canal was made sure I specified this due to what happened with the sanitary trim. What they did was chop all his cute fluff that was behind his ear didn't even touch anywhere near the canal. All I wanted was an ear clean up. They also didn't even clean his ears. So now he has choppy hair behind his ear, looks like a 2 year old did it. Not happy at all. I also want to add that they had my dogs there for 3 hours and must not have given them any water! When they came home they drank 3 bowls of water in one sitting! Train your employees better!!! I will not be going back here and good luck to anyone who decides to! read more

Do not buy pets here!!! We've purchased two female hamsters here. One died after about 18 days from a respiratory infection. They refused to work with us without a receipt. Understandable as that is their written policy. The second died after 5 days. Same symptoms, same outcome. Our other hamster is healthy and happy, we purchased him elsewhere. When I brought in the second hamster and explained how both had died within a month and it's a respiratory infection, the manager told me I was wrong. Virtually every time I call for grooming I have to call back or they have to call me back. The groomers are very nice but the system sucks. They need an online scheduling system or a centralized scheduling system rather than expecting the groomers to stop what they are doing and become clerks. Continually disappointed....... read more

We stopped here just to check it out. I noticed when we saw the ferrets one of them was having explosive diarrhea on the glass. I looked and it was a nice layer of diarrhea on the bedding. If you have one animal sick, you should remove it from the rest of the animals. That way they all don't get sick. It didn't seem the employees were giving much attention to the animals. I saw a few fish in one tank were floating dead. I said loudly, multiple times, that there were dead fish in the tank. So the employee that was right there were pay attention to it. It got ignored. I used their bathroom and that toilet looked liked it hasn't been scrubbed in months! The toilet paper wasn't put on the roll. It was just left on the handicap hand rail. Same thing with the paper towels, the roll was just left on the sink. It appears the employees and store manager don't care what is going on in that store. My daughter wanted to get one of the turtles. After what I saw I didn't trust the care from the employees to the animals and told her we will find a turtle somewhere else. read more

I stopped in Christmas eve desperately trying to find an older style pet safe wireless fence transmitter collar. The GM of the store and sales associate were incredibly helpful and they found what I needed. The GM also said that I should try it out first and if the transmitter didn't work, I could bring it back and try another until I found something compatible. Fortunately it worked perfectly! It was nice and frankly refreshing to have such excellent service! They have definitely earned my repeat business!! read more

Where do I begin with this one. I've bought all of my bettas at petco and they have all lived a long time. I've recently been looking to buy a five gallon, divide it, and have two bettas share it. I already have a 2.5 that I got from there and my betta loves it. The tank at petco is double the price of petsmarts, Petcos being $64 while petsmart was $32, definitely didn't buy it. All the decorations were overpriced as well. I went to check out the bettas and they all looked unhealthy and dead. They just laid on the bottom of their small containers in their own feces that hadn't been cleaned. I even found a dead betta that was in a dirty container, clearly had been dead for a couple of days. His gills were flared and he had lost almost all of his color and was a murky grey. I brought him to someone in the front of the store and she just said, "oh okay." And didn't seem to care at all. She placed him on the sales desk checkout and walked away. The fish was still there when I left the store. I checked out some of the other animals as well. One of the ferrets seemed to be sick and had diarrhea everywhere, and I mean everywhere, but for some reason they kept it with the 4-5 others in the tank. Kinda gross. One of the birds in the back, I think it was a canary, also seemed unhealthy and sick. It was shaking, feathers were a mess, and it was actually pulling feathers out. Petco really needs to start taking care of their animals, but I won't be buying here anymore cause of these reasons. It's upsetting to see how distressed and sick these animals are, something needs to be done. From now on I'll start getting my fish and supplies from Petsmart. read more

We are saddened to write a negative review of this petco store as we have shopped here so many times and have had nothing but positive experiences with all of the employees, but the way we were treated by a manager this evening was beyond comprehension. We entered the store attempting to either exchange a goldfish that had sadly perished less than a day after purchasing him (we followed all the obvious new fishy rules) or to simply replacing him, depending on what the manager deemed appropriate. Without a receipt I realized that we would have to speak with a manager. When the associate that helped us approached him about speaking with us, this guy did not come out to speak with us and instead spoke very 'loudly' toward the associate that was attempting to retrieve him for us. I approached the doorway and explained that I didn't want to cause any trouble for the girl or the manager and that I simply wanted to discuss this little fish. After explaining why we were there, this manager quickly turned very confrontational. I verbalized that we ware a bit uncomfortable with the way he was speaking to us, he responded by yelling at us further and asked "how do you WANT me to speak to you??!!" We pointed out that he seemed very defensive without cause and he proceeded to sit on the floor, pretzel style, and asked "is this BETTER??!!!". We were stunned at how unreal his response to our questioning was and were humiliated in front of both customers and the store associate. I can only imagine what his customers are met with when they approach him with bigger fish to fry (pardon the expression). I cannot say enough for the associates of this petco, but this manager will be the reason I avoid this petco location. =( read more
