The shelf had my cat's kidney food listed as $2.79 per can but rang up $2.99 per can. The cashier, Makayla, wouldn't honor the price when other cashiers have previously. She was rude and dismissive. She literally told me, "it's not that much of a difference." In this economy every little bit helps. Every other cashier has honored the mistake in previous weeks. The wrong price has been listed for a while now. They honor online price differences so why wouldn't Makayla honor the incorrect price on the shelf? Update - submitted a complaint to corporate and received a coupon for this inconvenience. Just have a complaint about the nerdy white dude with glasses that was working the register on 9-23-25, I put my items on the register he doesn't say anything to me so I don't say anything I asked for a bag and then he wants to say I don't know if it will fit and he proceeds to bag the item up and it fit fits perfectly, how are you not going to greet me or ask if everything was OK and then proceed to be a smart ass when I asked for a bag for my item that I purchased. This store is the closest to me, and I haven't been to a Petco in a while. But I was very shocked at the amount of options of treats and dog food! To me Petco has a wider variety of healthy high quickly foods. I went here because I am transitioning my puppy to a new food which Petco carries- Tate of the wild! The transition is going well, and my puppy's fur is back to shining! Customer service was good, and the store was clean. They do charge $0.10 per plastic bag, which was fine for me. read more

I brought my puppy to the free puppy playtime on Saturdays. He really enjoys it. While we have only been twice, he seems to enjoy the somewhat controlled socializing with the other puppies. The trainers seem to be very nice and truly care about them. As far as the prices, I think it is a little more expensive than other pet stores, but they do carry a variety of items. read more

The majority of the time, this location will have everything you need for your pet. From food to toys to cleaning supplies to medication, you can count on this location to have whatever you need in stock. On top of that, they have very reasonable prices, and if you are a petco rewards member, you will get additional savings and reward points for every dollar you spend there (or any petco location). I would recommend buying online and using the in store pick up option, as prices listed online are usually a few $$ less than what is listed in store. The only issue with buying online, and we've run into this problem before, is that sometimes the website will incorrectly state an item is in stock but the store does not have it. You'll only get notified after you checkout that the item isn't available. You won't get charged, but it can be inconvenient if you are buying items that you need right away. Besides the product and prices, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. And for a store that probably has a lot of pet traffic, they are always very clean and tidy. read more

I came in for a walk in for my teacup chihuahua, lady who was just standing in grooming with her hands crossed (Alexa) talking to another groomer asked if i had an appointment, i said i did not , she said they're short staffed and very busy and cannot do walk ins. I explained i called the last two days with no answer and left a voicemail with no return call, she said unfortunately we can't we're too busy - i looked at her and i said mam you aren't even servicing any animals and your just standing here. I just want to say her initial only because she is always booked! My puppy tried multiple grooming places in the past and didn't click with anyone but Ms. K. My puppy loves to see her and she always greet with full of love. Not only my puppy loves her, but also her skills and customer services are phenomenal. I can tell that she enjoys what she does and she is good at it. This salon is lucky to have her and I am so blessed to found her here. Oh, and other staff are also wonderful! The only reason this Petco is getting two stars is because they always have what I need when other places don't have it. They have a wide variety of stuff, it is amazing. The downside is they have no basic knowledge for the care of Guinea Pigs. Every-time I have come in they have no hay whatsoever, and 3-4 G-Pigs are crammed into an aquarium tank. It's heartbreaking. Guinea pigs need unlimited hay not "handfuls of hay". They need 4ftby2ft of space PER GUINEA PIG. Not only to mention those tanks have no ventilation. These animals are not a product, and that's how they treat them. Petco please please educate yourselves better before selling these helpless animals. I cannot stress this enough. You are showing people that it's okay to neglect these animals, it's not. It's ABUSE. read more

Last year I brought my dachshund in for an ingrown nail. I was told she had to have a rabies vaccine before they would look at it. Fair enough. I got her vaccine updated and the vet kindly cut the ingrown nail and trimmed the others as well. Today I'm told they don't do anything besides vaccines. I have 2 dogs that I will never bring back to Petco for grooming. I made an appointment for 9:15 am and when I arrived, the store was closed so I rang the bell to alert the grooming department. After ringing the bell 5 times, I loaded my dogs back in the car and went home. Just as I was nearing my home, I get a call from the groomer looking for the dog. I explained that no one would come to the door. She wanted me to. bring them back. So, I turned around and went back. All of this threw off the entire morning. Later, when I picked them up, they had the audacity to add a surcharge to my grooming bill because it took extra time. When I asked if they were going to credit me for wasting my time during drop off. No answer. Also, you should know that they DON'T express the anal glands as advertised in their pricing. My vet was very alarmed when I brought my oldest dog in and her glands were overly full. Finally, if you have an appointment, you should arrive early because it can take 15-20 minutes just to check in. They are painfully slow and it is a somewhat chaotic counter. There are far too many places to take your beloved dogs for grooming. Petco is pricey and they don't give a shit about their service. read more

After I adopted my puppy I came here looking for basic supplies. Crate, bed, chew toys, poop bags, treats, shampoo, carrier, and a dog tag. Tell me why it is so expensive here compared to PetSmart?? No, really... I'm curious why. PETCO definitely has a more extensive variety for food, treats, and other animals but the carrier I found here was $30 more than at PetSmart, for the same one! If she had not already chewed on it I would have taken it back and went to PetSmart. They did however have better chew toy selections here than in PetSmart. Well, for puppies they did; not sure about older dogs. The woman at the register was not too friendly either. Being around animals and people are not the job for you if you have an attitude. After making an appointment to adopt a kitten, filling out the paper work the lady says the kitten was diagnosed with FELV , which is essentially leukemia. But she explains none of this. I had my puppy groomed today by Kirsty. She is the best!!!!! She will take the time to get to explain what kind of cut she will do, and why she will do them. I had initially scheduled the grooming appointment to be at 5:45PM, but Kirsty reached out the day of asking if I could come in a little earlier since it takes a bit longer for a full body haircut. It was a little harder for me because I was starting my first day at my internship, but I was able to leave early and told Kirsty I would be there by 5. Unfortunately, I totally misjudged the distance between my place and Petco, so I was about 20 minutes late. I felt so bad and worried that they wouldn't take my dog. However, Kirsty did and she was super patient with me! Even though I was late, she still took the time to make my puppy feel comfortable, and still explained the cut she was going to do. After my puppy was finished with his appointment, it was about 8:55PM (they close at 9PM). Kirsty stayed an hour longer than she had said to finish grooming my puppy. After I got there to pick him up, she even walked out with me to make sure he pottied. She also explained that they have a 100% guaranteed satisfaction rate, so after the cut, she asked if I was happy with it. If not, she would go back and fix it. Kirsty is the one to go to! The floor staff is very apathetic. The conditions that they keep the betas in is awful! Many had dirty water ranging from cloudy to yellow. Some of the betas were dead, the poor things. Management was very apathetic when informed of the dead betas. It raises concerns about the quality and care of their other fishes. read more

This petco is awful. I frequent their reptile section as I have a leopard gecko myself. Their reptile enclosures were unclean and appeared to have been left dirty for multiple days as one of the enclosures only housed two juvenile leopard geckos and had about 10 individual little waste droppings. The leopard geckos are also kept on sand!!!! There were about 10 baby leopard geckos in one enclosure just piled up on top of one another in a single hide. No moist hide, no cool hide. Their baby beardies were also kept in a filthy enclosure. I care for hatchlings that I've produced myself recently. The way these poor babies are kept is awful. If I could leave zero stars I would. So sad. Wish I would've gotten photos. ****UPDATE W PICS Bearded dragons enclosure was a lot cleaner this time, but the leos are still on sand with no humid hide. And the dead mealworms in their bowl is disgusting. Breaks my heart. read more

My first time at this Petco was about 5 weeks ago. I brought my two dogs in for a nail trim/grind. I had a male groomer (but don't remember his name) and he was great! I brought my dogs in for the second time today for another nail trim. According to an email, Hailey was the groomer's name. There were no issues with my first dog (my usual screamer). However, when she brought out my second dog, she said she couldn't finish my dog's claws. She sounded somewhat aggressive with an accusatory tone saying that they won't be able to groom my dog anymore due to safety concerns with my dog's anxiousness. I could only assume she was talking about my dog's safety with being on grooming table... but her aggressive tone made it sound like HER safety was her concern. Umm... no... look lady... I didn't need your attitude. No other Petco groomer has ever had issues with my dog. Yes, my dog has a very loud, annoying, high-pitched bark while being groomed... I know that annoyance and frustration all too well... it's the same annoying barking she does non-stop on car rides. I realize it must have hurt your ears. But that's the only safety concern you could possibly have with my dog. And in that case- get some ear plugs... you work with dogs... use your head a little. Now, if you were concerned about my dog's safety with regards to keeping her on the grooming table... my dog has arthritis in her knees. Most other groomers prop their knee under my dog's waist to keep her steady and balanced when they trim her back claws. Now, I wasn't watching you groom her suuuper closely, but I didn't see you prop your knee under her to provide support. I saw (what looked like) my dog struggling to balance her weight on her one back leg, while you were being a bit aggressive trying to hold her other leg in the air to trim. Now, I didn't think about this until after I left the Petco, but a different lady (at the grooming front desk) didn't even give me that one paper to sign... that paper where you declare if there are any health concerns with your dog... yeah, never got that. I admit... maybe Hailey just didn't know about my dog's arthritis because the other lady was to blame and didn't have me sign the health concern declaration. But seriously Petco, if a note can be put in my other dog's profile stating to trim his back claws first (to avoid anxiety), then you can make a note in this dog's profile stating that she has arthritis and that the groomer should post their knee under her waist to provide stability. I took my dogs to a dog park right after grooming and the dog with arthritis was limping more than usual... likely due to Hailey's handling of her. Also to note- my dog's quick was clipped. Now- I get it. My dog has black claws, so I don't blame you for clipping it. But did you think that maybe that's why my dog was anxious? Perhaps the correct way of handling the situation was to simply admit you trimmed the claw a little close by accident, it raised my dog's anxiety, say that it would be better to try again another day, and to sympathetically apologize for the inconvenience. I would've had no problems with that at all. But don't you dare say my dog presented a "safety concern" because that's a lie. I won't be taking my dogs to this Petco for grooming anymore. Hopefully, my old doggo's profile isn't flagged so that other Petco groomers won't work on her. This is the ONLY groomer that has had issues with my dog, after all. But if her profile is permanently flagged, then I guess that means I have to find a groomer outside of Petco... which would also mean I no longer need Vital Care. So, we'll see. Oh! Also to note, the lady at the normal checkout counter (not the grooming counter)... oh my gosh, she was sooo dang SLOOOW. It was very annoying. This Petco scraped the bottom of the barrel on their workers today, that's for sure. I'll go to a different Petco from now on. The only positive thing that happened was that Hailey didn't charge me my old dog's nail trim since it was only half done anyways. read more

I recently bought Canidae dog food here on February 21st. I never bought dog food here, but that day was my first time, all because the store I normally get my dogs food was out of stock. I noticed when I got home there was something that looked like web/dust and didn't think nothing of it... 2 WEEKS LATER of giving my dogs this food, I start to realize that they were MAGGOTS!!!! How disgusting!!! My poor dogs. I went back yesterday asking for a refund and the blue fake contacts manager told me I couldn't get a refund because I didn't have my receipt(which was acceptable, I paid with my debit card). I asked if I could get store credit and he couldn't do that either. He suggested he could only exchange the dog food bag for me(while he pulled a bag out and saw one that was defective) WHY WOULD I WANT ANOTHER BAG OF DOG FOOD WITH MAGGOTS? $62 dollars down the drain cause y'all couldn't do a damn thing about it. I got my dog groomed here. She needed a shave badly. I chose the #5 which is a 1/4". I asked that her head not be shaved nor her tail, just trimmed. They did this... However it was not blended at all. It looks ridiculous. When I got her home I was rubbing her belly and noticed they shaved her completely down on the belly (no guard) and she was nicked numerous times. I wasn't told about this when I picked her up. I also noticed fleas! Wtf!! She was flea free going in and I've spotted 5 fleas on her. So glad I paid $70 for a shitty haircut and now I have to pay to treat her for fleas! I also told them she has very sensitive skin so I wanted them to use oatmeal shampoo on her, she smells like she didn't even get a bath they just threw some scented powder on her. Not saying they did but that is sure what it seemed like and the special shampoo was a bullshit extra $7 (I can buy a damn bottle at that price) that I wasn't told about until I got to the register. This was one of the few Petcos in the area that had allergy drops I was looking for so they seem to have a wide variety of products at this one. I bought my first fishtank and fish here. Everyone who worked in the fish area was extremely knowledgeable about fish. They gave their honest opinions about the small tank I was buying, which I definitely appreciated. I've been here several times and had good/bad experiences with the register person.
