Bentley is definitely a ladies' man and absolutely loved all the attention he was getting while we were there. The staff was very straightforward about what they planned to do, what needed to be done, and most importantly showed me the pricing before anything was performed. As someone on a budget, that transparency meant so much to me and made the entire experience stress free. When a beautiful Russian Blue kitty was surrendered to them, they took care of him for more than six months. When I finally adopted him he was in great shape physically and not traumatized by the experience. Obviously, the staff cares for all their animals and treat them extremely well. A few weeks later, I took my adopted guy (Nicholas) back to Huebner Oaks for a full checkup so I could put him on my pet insurance. Their local cat expert is Dr. Krysten Vredegoor, who proved to be superb with Nicholas. Huebner Oaks has an easy-to-access parking lot, friendly and efficient staff, as well as boarding + grooming facilities. An excellent choice for those who want a full-service vet.

Every response I received was friendly and full of helpful information. I managed to get the girls scheduled for the next time I was back in town with no issues whatsoever. Since they weren't already established patients at this point, I was asked for their shot records and other additional info. Everything was verified and we were good to go! Their groomer, Eleanor, did such an outstanding job on our girls. They were in desperate need of a bath and all the other additions that come along with it and she absolutely came through for us. In fact, we were so impressed by their customer service and the experience was very positive for us that we took our youngest fur baby back to get spayed and microchipped. She had her blood check done a couple of days before the surgery and the results came back via email clearing her so that she could move forward. She was dropped off first thing in the morning and IIRC, we received a follow up phone call telling us that everything went well, she was resting, and we could pick her up after 3pm. Unfortunately, she had to wear the cone of shame for 2 weeks but everything healed up nicely and she's back to her old self again. Highly recommend GNW AH!

Our female dog passed away after being told she had been breathing fine for over an hour post-surgery (and after she somehow pulled out her breathing tube despite "being monitored at all times" at Great Northwest). We were told to pick her up at closing time & at that point when seeing her in person it was very clear that our baby was not okay. In fact, the vet tech told us to go to the nearest and recommended emergency after care facility because if we went anywhere else further, our baby would likely "not make it." Dr. chandler continued to pretend that our baby was fine. Great Northwest assured us they had transferred records and the needed information to the urgent care facility so that they'd be ready to receive us. Upon arriving to the urgent care, they DID NOT have any of our information - delaying the intake process and start of urgent care for our baby. This facility is not equipped with urgent care or after hours care for a serious surgeries that are extremely high risk (we were never told this was a high risk procedure with a high likelihood of a fatal outcome and/or the need for overnight urgent care/monitoring. Our baby should have never been removed from oxygen and we should not have been given a dying dog where we had to unsafely rush her the urgent care facility during traffic hour. We never received a follow up phone call after asking to discuss the final outcome and notes from the urgent care doctor whom Dr. Chandler had been in contact. We were put through a very traumatic experience by Great Northwest Animal Hospital, Dr. Chandler.

Several veterinarian offices we called had no available, immediate appointments, and on recommendation from friends, our call secured a same day visit. This free standing clinic, off the corner of Babcock and Prue, offers parking aplenty. Registration is left, with "pet patient" waiting right of entry. There is a specific cat waiting area, with bench seating, and waist high walls providing a more comfortable separation from canine patients. A rather thoughtful accommodation. The clinic is spotless, quiet,... and frankly, absent the smell of four legged patients. The registration staff are professional, efficient, and pleasant throughout. The gestalt of the experience thus far is of a well organized, welcoming office suggesting commitment to very professional service. We were almost immediately ushered into an exam room, welcomed by an assistant, that entered Luna's chief complaint and history into the computer medical record, then took her to a back room for vital measurements. This lady, was clearly experienced in handling cats with tender care. Enter Doctor Haynes, absorbing our history, deftly yet gently examining our ailing kitty, reviewing the lab results, and outlining a course of therapy. To make a long story short, with the consultation of Doctor Lane, a 24 hour stay for hydration and antibiotics, our kitty was returned to well being. Whew!!! Our Luna has a newly discovered congenital kidney issue, and with the counsel of Doctors Haynes and Lane, we have charted a course that optimizes her chance for an excellent quality of life. Yelpers, I recount our experience for very good reason. I have been a practicing physician for 40 years. I understand that a satisfying medical encounter lies not just with well trained providers with stellar credentials, with terrific bedside manner, but also with their support staff, from clerical professionals, to well trained assistants. All in an environment that is reassuring, designed to minimize the anxiety that might accompany a medical encounter. These are aspects that we all appreciate as patients. But when the "rubber meets the road", we want to be assured that our doctors are well trained, and competent for any medical challenge that our furry family members might present. Let me finish by saying that these good doctors, Doctor Haynes and the medical director of the clinic, Doctor Lane, are graduates of Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine. This school of veterinary medicine is consistently among the top five in the nation for veterinary education. The quality implications of their credentials are self evident. All my NICU and cardiac RN skills go out the window and I have dog mom brain. Dr. Ramsey takes her time to thoroughly explain everything, including signs/symptoms, what to monitor, medications, treatment options, etc. The facility also provides drive-thru Rx pickup, boarding, grooming and plenty of outdoor space to potty. This clinic used to be great but it sucks now…read more We used them when our first dog was ill and needed to be put to sleep. They were caring , professional, kind and didn't require any exam or proof that this was the right decision for our dog. Today we had an appointment scheduled to put down our second dog for a variety of reasons that had led us to that decision. I was able to make the appointment no problem. It was confirmed that this is what the appointment was for. When I got there the nurse was very understanding and kind. But the vet came in questioning why we were looking into euthanasia and then proceeded to tell me she couldn't recommend it because my reasoning wasn't good enough. She also spoke in a way that blamed me for my dogs condition. I am no fan of having to euthanize an animal but I originally chose this clinic because of their understanding and kindness. Now they just hire vets who want to tell you you're wrong and not doing well enough. And then try to force medication and other procedures on you. You lost a customer today. What a great disappointment

My sister and I attended the first ever Meowmaste Kitties & Yoga event at Dogtopia in Stone Oak…read morelast Saturday :) ! We had low expectations since it was the first one. But it didn't disappoint at all and turned out to be so much fun :D !! Understandably, these animal yoga events are generally less intense compared to non-animal themed yoga sessions. This yoga event was more of a beginner's level, with an emphasis on kittens and on encouraging people to adopt them :) ! We met some really cute kittens, including a cute tuxedo kitten named Beandip, who reminded us of our beloved family tuxedo cat when we were growing up :) ! We also met and bonded with some amazing and very friendly volunteers and class participants :) ! You can bring your own yoga mat (which I did) :) ! Or you can rent one for $5 a session (which is what my sister did since she didn't have her own) :) ! This particular Dogtopia is planning on hosting Meowmaste kitties & yoga quarterly, with the next one anticipated for April :) ! For dog lovers, a puppies & yoga event will be held here on Sat (Jan 31) :) !
