To all who care about fish and this hobby as much I do. I went there today to check out their betta selection. well sad to say, it was just horrid! in the first 30 secs standing in front of display shelf "where two employees were directly on each side of me unpacking products" I spotted 3 dead bettas immediately. then as I continued to look, well first I said to both of them "oh dear, this is so sad" continue to see more in awful, horrible shape. and the sizes of these poor babies, they could not have been an inch long, none of them! I asked the associate again, trying to get her attention to the obvious problem, RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEIR FACES! how much do you do water changes an health checks??? anything? one of the girls just totally ignored me. the other just grabbed the obvious dead container and preceded to say and I quote "lol you should see them when they get here" really, are you kidding me..!??? and she also walked away, not to return. I just don't understand people who work at a pet store with living creatures all around "some dead" and they no empathy or care. it's shameful. get into a different proffession or another company where compassion isn't needed! because it's terribly sad to see no one cared about these poor little fish! they should be ashamed, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing I didn't do my best to try. I don't peticularlly like writing or saying, judging other people at all, believe me. but I cannot sleep myself without at least letting others know whats going on there right now. I just wish I could of taken them all home! maybe with a lttle tlc an care some might make it, because they certainly aren't going to there!!! gosh I have never seen such young baby bettas that small and fragile being sold. I hope by writing this, some other people will go rescue some too, who knows...? but at least I spoke up for the voiceless little creatures, who deserve a chance. I'm sorry to offend anyone. but I cannot stand for inhumane treatment. if you took the time to read this, please pass on the info. maybe others will get rescued. and ty also for your time. read more

This location is awful. It's close to work so sometimes I will TRY to buy our 2 dogs food here. Often out of the brands we use. Today the goal was to buy a bag of dog food for my senior dog and one younger dog. Over the course of almost 25 minutes neither the clerk at the register on the manager could figure out how to honor 50% off sticker on one of the bags. When all is said and done they wanted me to pay $5 more than the actual regular price for the dog food. And then they seemed confused when I told him to please remove it from the order because I wasn't going to pay $5 more with a 50% off coupon. They both seemed confused by the math. I will stick to the Quaker Lane store in Warwick which is closer to home from now on. read more

The cashiers are always miserable and make you feel like you are bothering them. Don't go there for dog training if your dog needs a lot of help, seek trainers who actually know more than just the basics or they will do more harm then good. read more

After numerous visits will not be going back. They never have enough people working that granted it's retail. However the worst part is the Fish Department. There are a few people that work there that sell fish that have no idea what they are selling and give out the wrong information. And out of all the pet stores I've dealt with over the last 30 years Seekonk Petco has more dead fish in their tanks than any other fish store. Not first thing in the morning. Granted all of their tanks are overcrowded because they selfish. That's understandable. But no matter what time of day you go there are numerous fish dead in the tanks. But when they sell fish they should let people know when they are getting an aggressive fish. And when they need certain kinds of foods. Instead of just giving out wrong information. Completely wrong!. Especially when it comes to bettas. Selling people tiny bowls to keep the efficient when this fish can live over 10 years properly cared for. But they themselves don't know the proper care of a betta. Better off going to a privately owned store where the owner and staff are much more knowledgeable rather than a chain. Although I will say the other Petco in Taunton Mass is far better. read more

Not a place to bring your pup for training!!! Loved this store, was always my go to for treats, toys, and food for my pup! The staff was always so friendly and informative. I was unsure of where to bring my 11 week old puppy for basic training classes and was referred to this particular store. I called up and talked to an awesome trainer named Tara who was super sweet and helpful! Unfortunately both my boyfriend and I could not fit her class into our schedule! I then signed up for a puppy class with somebody else and was eager to begin until I walked into a zoo! There were a ton of dogs in line for this specific class (when I say dogs, I mean almost full grown dogs). I was under the impression it was a puppy training, considering it was called a puppy level course with specific age qualifications. Not only was there a majority of older dogs over puppies, they were barking, growling and very unpleasant. I kept telling myself that all dogs are different in different environments, whether they are anxious, scared or excited, so I continued to stay. Giving the whole training class the benefit of the doubt after my poor first impression, a dog aggressively snarled at my pup with great aggression. After I picked up my dog and walked away, the owners proceeded to make comments that were very unfriendly! (Like owner, like dog). While still waiting for the class to begin another dog walked by with a muzzle on and as I smiled to the pup and the owner, they resumed to say be careful she isn't friendly.The woman who's dog was also lunged at was appauled and was ready to pick up her belongings and go elsewhere! I finally realized I was not the only one who seemed a little concerned for my puppies safety, I then finally picked up my puppy and left! Granted not EVERY dog in the class made me second guess my decision, but for the most part it was not a good learning enviorment. Later on that evening I returned for a refund on my classes in hope to either pick a different day of training or just a find a whole new training in general. The cashier was completely understanding and told me that Sunday classes were usually their craziest days and to look a different week day in the future! As I was getting my refund processed the trainer/manager was what really got me! Telling her I didn't think this type of place was the fit for my puppy , she was clearly very angry with me and my reasoning for pulling my puppy out of training that she began to talk down to me and argue with me making me feel very uncomfortable! She also proceeded to tell me if brought my puppy to a certain type of training I had in mind that my puppy would become socially awkward and have a social behavior problem! Well as far as I was concerned since the day I brought my puppy home I exposed him to multiple different dogs, both bigger and smaller than him! I have worked retail before and what comes along with that type of job is customer service, in which this woman clearly lacked! Why on earth would I want my puppy being trained by a person who can't even properly speak to her customers with respect! Maybe I was being a little protective of my puppy, but nothing about being there at that specific time gave me a positive feeling! If the manager wasn't so rude I would of absolutely of given it a second chance with a smaller class on a different day! Im glad with my decision to pull my pup, I was a concerned puppy parent and should not have been disrespected the way I was, more importantly never should I have felt as if my puppies safety was at risk! Im not one to ever right a poor review but I feel as if dogs are like children! They should have a comfortable environment to learn in just as any parent would want their actual child in! On that note, be careful signing up for classes and if you do sign up, do some good research prior to your class!! Oh and be careful if you do not go to Petco training your dog will become socially awkward!! read more

This took place at the seekonk, Ma Petco store on rt. 6. I waited 4.5 hours for a grooming that never happened. The dog groomer said that there were too many dogs that day and couldn't get to my 4 pound toy poodle (size of a cat), then proceeded to tell me that my dog was too fidgety and nipped at her which was complete added B.S. to cover her *** for not doing anything. What upset me most was that the grooming salon didn't have the audacity to call me within the first or second hour to cancel the appointment. Instead, they made me wait the full 4.5 hours and gave me this B.S. story. The employee at the front of the store said, "wow, that's ridiculous, I'd be mad too." The way the grooming department handled this was completely unacceptable and no customer should ever have to wait this long for anything. As for the manager, all I got was a, "yes, sometimes things like this do happen" and never once apologized for making me wait around :( Poor management skills and poor customer service). I reported this with Petco customer service 1800# to let them know that their grooming salon could careless about maintaining the integrity of the store. read more
