I didn't even bring my dog there to know I don't need to bring him there. I called just now to try to get a quote on bringing my puppy for his first time bath and the lady who answered the phone sounded completely over it and they've only been open for an hour and a half. Why would I bring my puppy somewhere where the staff already sounds irritated with me on the phone let alone my dog's first bath. Customer service really needs to be assessed especially when I say "okay I'll give you a call back, have a good day" and get straight hung up on with nothing said. read more

I got sick and tired of vacuuming cat fur all over the house on a daily basis, so a friend recommended I go to Puppy Le Peu to have his fur trimmed. Extremely HAPPY with my cat's Lion Cut. His long fur was trimmed everywhere except his head, lower legs, and the tip of his tail. The groomer even managed to trim his belly and bottom, both of which are very difficult areas (cats normally do NOT like to be touched there). The short trim was even and silky smooth!! I was AMAZED by how quickly the groomer finished in less than an hour, considering that my cat tends to scratch and bite whenever I try to trim his claws. I was surprised that nail trimming is included with the Lion Cut--free of charge! Very professional. Was able to book an appointment right away. Cats must come in the morning before the dogs arrive. Prices here are unbeatable (I only paid $40 plus tip) for the quality and expertise of the technicians at Puppy Le Peu!! Very pleased with the service and this will be the only place I will be sending my Kitty from now on. read more

Rarely do I review businesses low because I know tough days happen, mistakes happen, and as someone who works in the service industry, I try to give a lot of grace. But in my opinion how you handle mistakes is most important. We booked our appointment almost 3.5 months in advance only to show up, in the rain, and be told "no" as the owner flipped through her books. I mean that quite literally as there was a conversation, just shaking the head and saying no. We weren't going to stand and argue as other dogs were being groomed and I'm realistic that they aren't going to magically conjure another groomer for our dogs. I called after we got back home and asked when they do have our dogs booked in effort to see if we maybe added the appointment to the wrong day in our calendar and they just weren't in their calendar at all. I expressed that we were going on a trip which is why we wanted to have the dogs groomed and with everyone booking in advance, now we won't have the ability to do so. Of course, we'll just do it ourselves. I shared, while I'm happy they are popular (and they do a reasonable job which is why we go there), if they couldn't get us in, I'd expect, "here's a later time", "here's a date we can squeeze you in," ANYTHING. She then went on to explain the we must have called somewhere else because they only book 1 month out. I explained we have only exclusively booked with them so it wouldn't have been another place, and whether it was her or someone else in the store, they shouldn't have committed a date more than 1 month out if that's not standard. To note, both us and my in laws book there and regularly appointments are more than a month out. She then admitted there was another person who doesn't work there anymore that might have committed the future date. So if that's the case, how about you focus on what you CAN do instead of nothing at all. This was extremely disappointing and we won't be going back. I'd recommend they implement some sort of confirmation system to avoid this issue (because at this time it's just call and book and apparently hope they've written you in). read more

My 3yr old maltipoo is very fearful around ppl as well as despises grooming and anything related. She snaps at anyone who try's including myself. I've been to groomers that will take her on with a muzzle for safety of course but her face eventually gets neglected and over time matted. I've tried melatonin, gabapentin, and even behavioral training to work out her negative associations with grooming but nothing seems to work. Puppy la peu deserves more than 5 stars ! I'm just absolutely blown away! She's so beautiful and smells good and I'm sure she feels so much better with her face finally cleaned. Im still in shock that they took care of her so well and I'm so very grateful to them! Thank you so much! read more

Normally, I go to an awesome place in Barrington, RI to get my cat groomed - but I decided to try Puppy La Peu because it was so close to my house (my kitty HATES the car, and the longer drive stresses him out!) My cat got a lion cut, and looks awesome! No doubt he now feels much better in this summer heat - and a bonus for me, the shedding has stopped. :-) The groomers were pleasant, and the place was busy for a Wednesday afternoon. They decided not to give my cat a bath after his cut because he was too stressed out, which was okay, and they did not charge for the bath. I just gave him a quick bath when I got home. The place was clean, and by the next day my cat was back to normal forgiving me for what I had done to him! :-) I will definitely be back to Puppy La Peu. read more

When I first went in, it doesn't look like much. Open space, some dogs were waiting to be picked up, 2 others were getting groomed and 1-2 other dogs were waiting their turn. I'll be honest, I wasn't overly impressed and wondered if the experience would be too much for my little guy. Right away 2 women greeted me and they were friendly and their demeanor and energy was relaxed and calm, not nervous and overwhelmed. One asked me what I was looking for with cut, etc. I got a good feeling with both of them. I have a 2 year old Shiz Tzu. I wasn't sure how he would do and I felt guilty for leaving him. His bath, cut, nails and ears took about 2 1/2 hours. When I went to get him he looked amazing. The woman gave him exactly what I asked for. Wonderful cut, smelled amazing, and his fur made him look like a little bear. What I noticed right away as I was picking him up, was how calm and relaxed he was. As the lady was bringing him to me, he walked right beside her and looked right at her. I knew in that moment that they took care of him and he felt safe. The parking is not great at all. Very small lot. Not recommended for the young inexperienced drivers to back out of their spot. Overall, for the service I received... customer service, perfect grooming and a relaxed dog, I would say 5 stars!! read more

Have never had any nicks or blood (I know mistakes can happen, but some of the things I hear about at other places are just nightmares).
