We recently bought some fish from Petco. The person in the aquarium department was quite helpful. Unfortunately the fish all died. Petco has a replacement guarantee of the fish die within 30 days so we went back. The water in the aquarium tested ago so we picked out more fish, again with the helpful person in the aquarium department. When we went to checkout the man there became very nasty. When my wife said will just try this again the man said no we won't and went to check with the manager. He then cam back and checked us out, with no charge for the fish. However, he told us it happens again we would be banned from the store. This isn't really a problem since we won't go this store again. This is a one-star review only since zero stars isn't an option. read more

I'm not big on leaving reviews but I guess there's a first for every thing. I've been taking my little fur baby here for years. Today I am beyond pissed. My 5 pound dog was dropped off for her usual bath and cut. 3hrs later we get a call saying she has a half a haircut. They said due to her age and loose skin she was cut 4 times. (Jade was the groomer I think). I call BS. She's been there within the past 6months and she's was perfectly fine. I picked her up and she looked terrible. I had to wrap her leg because she keeps bleeding. read more

Made an appointment at the vet clinic, got there on time, was placed in a room and told someone would be with me shortly. My dog gets a bit anxious and this is an empty and cold room so I was happy to hear it wouldn't be long. Time passes and he's getting more and anxious. 30 minutes pass and I walk out to ask what the deal is. She says sorry we're really busy and she'll be right with me. I wait another 10 minutes and decide to leave because I'm running out of time off work and it probably won't go well with how anxious he is now. She doesn't seem surprised that I'm leaving and maybe even relieved somehow when my dog is leaving with some sort of eye infection that still is not treated. She asked if I wanted to reschedule and of course I say no, I'll go somewhere else. Can't recommend this place. read more

It is a large Petco locations so the variety of items is awesome. They have got a huge inventory and most items were in stock. I couldn't give 5 stars because they had mislabeled an item that I bought. They mislabeled the Instinct raw lamb meal toppers as Buy one get one 1/2 off but when the cashier rang it, it was regular price. I didn't notice until I got to my car and read the receipt that I had paid full price for both. So I had to wait back in the line to tell the cashier that the marketing was wrong. She had another employee check the marketing which did say BOGO 1/2 off. I was refunded my money but it took a while with waiting in line again and waiting for them to check the marketing to getting my refund. Just be careful of misinformation on the labels. read more

They did a horrible job grooming my dogs. The first two pics are from pets smart grooming and the second two pics are from Petco. I couldn't even recognize them. Brought my dog in for grooming they were told to leave his face ears and tail alone, came to pick up my completely shaved dog no teeth cleaning even though they charged me extra! Won't be back to this store again. First time josh had done my dog did a fabulous job he wasn't available this time and they recommended Serenity I figured they had all been trained. Hello yes, it's me! I know nada about animals/animal care. And so when my mom asked me to help her by picking up some frontline plus for her pupper you can imagine my surprise when I realized you couldn't just get it from Publix. Which led me to Petco. My allergies were on fire within half a second of walking through the door and so my goal was to get in and out A S A P. Fortunately the floor manager quickly saw my (I think it was) subtle look of despair. She helped me right away and opened the case where the meds were stored. Okay so not only can you not get this from Publix it's locked up! You practically need a pet prescription. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. That is as 5 star worthy of a visit as I can imagine. read more

Extremely poorly run & staffed business. The last straw was the experience I had last Saturday. I entered the store to purchase a bag of food for my pup. Several aisles were blocked with supply carts stacked with bags of food that had yet to be shelved. In addition, there was puppy training & the trainers, owners & puppies (who were extremely adorable) were clogging up the remaining open aisles. After being unable to find my pup's brand of food, I inquired & was told that there was none in stock. I then decided to not waste a trip & grabbed a couple of packages of dog poop bags & headed to the register. When the cashier asked if I had found everything that I was looking for, I responded that I had not, in fact, because that they did not have any of my dog's food in stock. This was met with a dead stare, accompanied by what seemed like an eternity of total silence that was finally broken when I was then asked if I wished to donate to some pet charity, which I agreed to. After ringing up the items I had purchased, I was then informed that I could only have a plastic bag for my purchased items for an additional fee. Apparently, my charitable donation did not entitle me to a measly little bag. Not to worry, because I will NEVER set foot in this Petco ever again & strongly urge my fellow pet owners in the area to do the same. read more

This is a nice Petco store. Large. Good selection. Not cheap but well kept and there is a clearance bin in the front and a rack in the back. I like that they have adoptable kittens. Adopt don't shop!!! Rescue is the way to go. Some costumes were left form Halloween and it was fun to try to get them on Zeus. No easy feat. If you need a collar for your pooch, catnip, treats or a leash, this is definitely an option. Oh and they were having dog training classes while I was there. Zeus was into disruptionnakd creating chaos but the pupils were doing well. Not sure on the deets. read more

Only the very tip of the nail was cut- should have just bought a pair of nail cutters and saved myself the $65 Called petco Customer service - did nothing but keep me on hold for 30 + minutes to say I could get a call back tomorrow but they are closing in 5. Not gonna throw the groomer under the bus- just shop/ do business elsewhere now. read more

Petco has been my go to Pet family store for years. But what happened?? I am so disappointed at the filthy atmosphere. The floors don't look like they have been decently cleaned in a very long time. When you first walk in the smell coming from the poo can is overwhelming. When I advised the nice employee it needed to be changed, she said oh we do it every few days ! Gross.. the sweet cats and kittens are near the front entrance and impossible to get to know. When my son and I attempted to hold one, there is no quiet area and dogs are walking into the store right next to us. My son got scratched but it really wasn't the kittens fault. He was terrified of all the dog and people traffic. Please Petco up your game! We want you back! read more

I purchased two items separately within two days on 5/15. They were harnesses for our puppy. Needless to say our dog hated them. We had one item with us a few days ago and the female store manager did a return for store credit after telling us Petco was not doing returns due to Covid. I thanked her for her excellent customer service and used the credit immediately on a harness more suited to our dog. I brought back the second item for a store credit and the store manager Brian Charming, refused to do it. I explained to him we had done a return for credit days ago and he flat out refused. When I pleaded by case stating I was not told about the no return policy and that we had just done a return for credit he flat out refused to give us store credit. At this point he said I was being a jerk because I wanted a credit. That floored me, called me a jerk, really. Well Brian at Petco Seminole town center. You have just cost Petco my business FOREVER. I also have him saying it on audio and will report his impertinence to corporate. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Regardless of me being insistent, calling me a JERK!! read more

I have been coming here regularly since I got my little pupper about almost one month ago. I really like the place and I definitely love how accommodating the staff members are there and answering my questions. Especially the first night when they have to call me down about which was the best dog food to order for my little girl hahaha. I like that when you first get a pet they have the coupon welcome booklet which is very helpful for a lot of things that you will need. My only issue just like most pet stores is that I do feel some of the items are a little bit on the expensive side but so far I have been disappointed in anything that I have purchased and it's a nice little place to walk around with your pet and order some things. read more

It sucks ass I just bought bought water there for my hermit crabs and I thought I got all salt but accidentally got fresh water so I tried to return it but couldn't cause I didn't have a receipt but literally a couple minutes prior I was told if I needed to return it I didn't need a receipt. read more

I have been a loyal customer here spending at least $250/month on pet supplies and Petco has really just been absolutely disappointing & I've questioned why I even still shop here. The prices are typically higher than the competition stores, the rewards system is so silly cause if you don't remember to load the $5 reward in the app (which is slightly complicated to use) before it expires then you're just $OL. The competing stores are automatic with their rewards systems which is so much better.. I've placed online orders here and showed up to pick them up just to discover their inventory was incorrect, the order was canceled, and no one reached out to tell me.. poor customer service. They also have not had the items I need in stock 4 times in a row even when I called ahead and the staff failed to have the courtesy to reach back out to give me an update after setting the expectation that they would.. I've also expressed my disappointment politely amongst the staff and none of them care.. I'm just done with Petco, bad business and bad customer service. read more

IDon't go to this groomer they hire children to groom dogs, I was told when I booked a grooming service for my 5 month old puppies that they did not need a rabbie shot due to they're young age. a week later when I arrived at the appt I was declined service & told whoever gave me the info was wrong. the teenage girls were rude & unprofessional, they acted like toddlers & gave me impression they were lazy & just didn't want to work. they never offered to contact a mgr. or whoever booked the appt. they just told me in a giggling toddler voice to have a nice day. read more

I stopped in and inquired about the "vaccine clinic". I spoke with a person at the check in desk. I asked if I would be able to get a rabies vaccine for my dog. She said yes, of course. She then gave a follow question to know when my dog had her other shots. I explained they were last year in May, and there is a vet appointment for the other shots tomorrow. She understood this, and said I could get the rabies vaccine today. I did not have the dog with me at the time, and I explained, I will be going home to get the dog as long as she is able to get vaccinated. I returned with my little dog to check in. First they just take your name and cell number and send you wandering through the store until they text you they are ready to begin checking you in. At check in, I had a different person completing the process. She from the very beginning was discouraging in her statements. She stated you should not get one shot today, and more shots tomorrow, as the immune system would be lowered by the immunization today making vaccines tomorrow very risky. Now I wonder why the first girl didn't catch on to this. They were both dressed the same. Of course neither wear a name tag or identifier to explain who and what they are. So at this time she talks me in to getting all of the vaccines at this "Vetco". I state I need to have airline paperwork filled out to confirm the shots. Now she says, we don't do that. You'd be better off going to your primary vet if you need paperwork filled out. I explained, I can just take the proof of vaccination to my vet and he is able to fill out the paper work. She then proceeded to tell me how the vet would not allow this. This seemed odd to me. So she took me back and she explained her version to the vet. Who then explained to me "it's illegal for another vet to say the dog was vaccinated if they didn't give the shots." I have to say, they wore me down, and I gave up. I left Petco. I was planning on making other purchases, however they all made it very clear that they did not need or want any money from me for services or goods. So I have to pose this questions. If you get a vaccine for a person at any place and bring the proof into your primary care doctor, do they not just add this to your medical history? I would expect this would be the same for vets. And it has been the same in the past for my Vet. So to tell me that it is "illegal for a vet to sign stating the pet was immunized, if they didn't perform the immunization" is misinformation. I don't think they understood, they were speaking to someone with a heavy healthcare understanding. I have enjoyed my career in healthcare for the past 24 years, and will continue with it. So to blow some smoke and mirror story of misinformation at me is just not going to be unchallenged. So as far as I'm concerned, Petco just doesn't need or want any business. And I'm ok with that. There are other options. Petsmart is just down the road. I will say they have lost a loyal customer from this experience. As well as my parents business as well. My parents have solely shopped shopped with Petco at my recommendation. We will take our money elsewhere. I would say this seemed as the rudest snub from some local facility. I just stopped to take advantage of whey they are advertising on their board outside the door. As an afterthought, I came to the conclusion; I am glad I gave up and moved on. If the "educated" vet could spout misinformation about the ability to handle medical information and the ability to add things to a health record when presented with proof from another facility. I would not want that person with poor knowledge to touch my dog. read more

One employee at this location has made my decision to never go back, very rude, and makes you feel like complete ***., when it could've happened to any one. Thank you for the manager (or other employee) that was on duty at the time - that knew my situation and didn't ask any questions. I never complain, and don't want to sound like a complete Karen but no one should ever feel shamed. read more

Terrible curbside pick up and services, not even worth it. Had to sit on hold for 5+ minutes, to be transferred, to wait longer for them to verify, to transfer again to clarify my last name 3x, then to clarify what I ordered. What's the point? Lesson learned. Peace and Love! read more

Tried ordering some specialized dog food and the inventory said they were out. I called and they said they had some in stock. I stopped by and the computer system wasn't taking my Vet card to buy the prescription food. Thanks to Holly she was able to fix my issue and I was able to order online and pick it up right away. Some disgusting blonde/grey haired skinny lady that was running puppy play time (we were not participating we were just customers about to buy a bunch of things for our new pup) approached my fiancé and I with our husky and yelled HOW OLD IS YOUR DOG I politely told her about 12 weeks and she rudely was pestering me about his shots which he has he came with all his shots being a 3 thousand dollar dog and we have taken him to the vet have all his paper work me confused with her just blurting our shots and false facts saying he's to young to have any shots at all. She the proceeded to yell at us and said we better get him up of the floor right now or he will die etc . All I'm saying is there's a way to approach people and this is NOT it . We will NOT be coming back and it's unfortunate because we were looking forward to making this his pet store and signed up for puppy rewards card, looks like that's going in the trash ! Have been a customer since they opened. Unfortunately they like to keep moving the products around every so often making it hard to find what you want, although staff is extremely helpful with finding g what you need. Now the product which I am used to buying has been moved again and seems to be getting discontinued. Blue, limited diet, salmon flavor. Almost all limited diet from Blue is gone. This is the only food I have found that stops my dogs food allergy. Guess I will have to start purchasing what I need somewhere else. read more

brought my dog for grooming .said I did not want her completely shaved .Told them to leave her face ,tail and ears alone. was told that they HAVE TO BY POLICy shave them if they bare are matte duo but my dog had mats in certain parts and was NOt in need of full shave.I was going to take her somewhere else until the person informed me that NO OTHER place would do her without shaving...Upon pick up my dog was completely shaved including her beautiful tail which angered me..Will not EVER go back..I believe these girls shave them so they do not have to comb or brush them out..BAd grooming done here...I have found another groomer who showed me what they would do regarding levels of matting which none applied to my dog..Do NOT recommend this place read more

This one seems smaller to me. Staff is friendly but I don't feel they have enough stock. The staff recommended something new for me but I have 3 cats to feed and they only had 1 small bag of that food on the shelf. I don't want to have to come back so fast for more food. read more

If I could give this store a ZERO star rating, I would! In the process of getting prepared for hurricane Irma, I needed to buy 2 XXL crates for my large dogs. Once I arrived, store employee David informed me that their store would not honor their policy of price matching the petco.com pricing. Their website petco.com had a 70% off of these crates, but David said they "would only give me 50% off and at these prices, there were NO RETURNS". He also told me that "it was against company policy to give the full discount offered on their petco.com website". I then called the Clearwater store and they said they had 2 crates and they honored the 70% off. I am forever grateful for the Clearwater store and will NEVER go back to the Seminole store. I used to exclusively go to Petsmart for all my needs but I've been treated with nothing but friendly people at this store. At Petsmart I'm usually scouring isles looking for someone to assist me where in the end I knew more about the questions I was asking them than they could even know. Here I'm constantly asked if I need help if I'm looking in an area for a few minutes or if an employee walks by. Tony specifically has been a really big help to me and he's very knowledgeable in a lot of different aspects especially for cats. It seems when it comes to cats most people don't care enough to look into some of their needs and just assume litter box, cheap food, and maybe a toy is enough. read more

I received a call Saturday 4/28 to contact Jeff at Petco Seminole Mall. Dolly had been found in the store and was being held safely for me to pick up at my convenience. I immediately went to Petco to find Dolly safe and healthy. Accordingly, she had gotten out twice but had never escaped the store. They had left out food and water for her evidenced by what was being found in the morning. Jeff informed me that everyone in the store had been looking and staying overtime to search the store for her (she is a dark calico/tortoise shell) as she was good at hiding. Dolly is home now and no worse for wear, lol. Glad to be home with her sisters and brother. After speaking with Jeff for a good amount of time I am convinced that this was mostly a lack of communication and was misconstrued due to the multiple amount of employees involved in finding her. He reassured me that everything was done and everyone was involved including Tony and David, contrary to my understanding. After my conversation with Jeff I feel much better about what happened and was assured that any mistakes or problems were being addressed and used as a learning experience so that this will not happen again. I believe what he tells me is true. He was very sincere and concerned about my problem and satisfaction and seemed truly happy that Dolly was back with her family. read more
