They always got my girl right! Trixie has always had anxiety when it comes to getting groomed and she will bark her way through the grooming appointment. Other groomers didn't want to deal with that and have turned her away but not the staff at this Petco location. I usually go with a specific groomer, Helena, but she was not available so I took a chance with any available groomer. The appointment was shorter than usual which caused my to question if they gave her a haircut. received a call and text that she was ready for pickup about 2.5 hrs later. When I got there, Ve shared some health concerns that Trixie may have arthritis and an ear infection, which I truly appreciated. They did just as I requested and cut her coat down for the summer and left her tail long. Of course, we will be back. read more

My Mini Schnauzer McKinley has been groomed at Petco's Snellville location since the day I purchased her over 11 yrs. ago. I've always found the grooming service and the groomers to be great. Kira G. has been McKinley's personal/only groomer for a few years now and takes special care when grooming McKinley to make sure she gets all the grooming benefits of me being a Vital Care Premier member. I can tell McKinley is pleased with the results as her demeanor is completely changed when picked up. She always seems to walk with a little strut and have a "I know I look good" attitude. Petco's cost of grooming has risen substantially over the years, but my Petco Vital Care awards usually reduce my cost by $30-35 every 6 weeks when taking McKinley in for grooming. read more

Scenic Highway Petco is Awesome. Never a bad experience! Don't go to the one on Pleasant Hill though. The young woman at the cash register was so rude. She made me wait unnecessarily and then would never tell me where something was and instead lectured me on why I shouldn't get it. Again, not the Petco on Scenic Hwy. I take my two dogs to Petco grooming today I am extremely disappointed and this will be my last time. At drop off one of the techs stated I would get the 20% off. Fast forward Morgan stated I was not when I told her what was previously stated she went to discuss with the other tech. It was not honored. They do not honor what was their mistake not mine. If I am quoted one thing and charged another you will never have the chance to do it twice...shame because most of them do great work some of the employees like Morgan need to take a class in customer service. This is why I spend over $10k/year at PetSmart and avoid Petco like the plague. I'm willing to spend more money just to avoid this Petco location. Store manager: Look at the video footage. I was just picking up an order (around 2 pm today). There was only one person in front of me, who was already checking out when I arrived. This took forever, with no end in sight, because the employee on the register didn't know what she was doing. By the time she paged for help, the line area was full from waiting customers. I learned that there were many, many more employees socializing elsewhere in the store. That first employee wasn't wearing a name tag, but she gave me a name. I've already filed a complaint with corporate because she began cussing in front of customers; they have that information. About 10 other employees eventually materialized and were just loitering around, laughing and gossiping. The first one to try helping squealed, "I don't know how to do this!" Still, none of the other employees tried to step in at that point. Eventually, someone tried to help the first customer who was still trying to check out. The other employees continued laughing, loitering, and gossiping. I had to repeatedly tell them that I just want to get my order, and I still had to wait for them to finish socializing to get it. They started helping a Doordasher who arrived after me before helping me. Everyone who was working today (9/29/24) needs to be fired, especially the cussing one who wasn't wearing a name tag and all the employees who saw what was happening and didn't step in. Whomever was managing this shift definitely needs to go as well. Every single one of them failed horribly, and they are driving business to PetSmart. Today was especially bad, but this location regularly feels like the most miserable place on earth. When there are consistently issues, the problem is management. Petco at Snellville has no regard for costumer service. When I went to buy some Koi fish I had to wait over 20 minutes to finally get a representative at the aquatics section. I bought seven Koi fish and a week later there of them were dead (I have over a dozen koi on my pond for over four years). I went back to the store to have them replace under they warranty period policy (I also brought a sample of pond's water). This time I encountered a few representatives going in and out of the store and only one person running the cashier at the front desk. I waited again for someone in aquatics. After almost 30 minutes I had to ask for the manager; she finally came out and reluctantly revived the dead fish. The manager and one of the associates were very rude and dismissive. Instead of replacing the fish the manger credited back my card and asked me to go back to aquatics and purchase the fish again (made no sense to me) but I went with the receipt and waited another 20 minutes for an associate to help. Finally the fish were not at the same price I bought them a week before and the store manager wasn't willing to honor the price I bought them for (under warranty) so I decided to leave the store after waiting an hour of my time and revived a very rude service. Petco of Snellville is often understaffed; employees are not friendly or cooperative and they don't honor their warranty like they do at other stores. read more

This is the second time this has happened only at this location and never at any other location we've been to. The second time around proved that. The only dog groomer worth seeing is Corrine! If she is not caring for your dog, definitely RUN. When you book a grooming appointment, you get a message stating to give 48 hours to cancel, yet the groomers will call you at the last minute to cancel your appointment only several hours before. This place is the absolute worst customer service if you are even able to find an associate Bought a snake 37 days later the snake died. I was grilled on why - told the associate I had no idea why. They continued to grill me as if I purposely killed the snake. My tank is the tank they sold me yet they tell me it was too small. I kindly reminded them that the tanks they have them in are Smaller than the one they sold me. Edgardo is my fur baby's new best friend! I was definitely skeptical about bringing my Elsa here for grooming, but she was a hot mess so I figured why not?! Her appointment was at 10am on a Wednesday and she was ready about 2pm. I love the fact they offer 25%off for first time clients. They recommended a length for her coat, and offer suggested the traditional Schnauzer cut to try out. Since she's a mix breed I usually go with something a little more feminine. Edgardo followed the exact directions I gave him and had my Elsa looking super adorable!! The only thing I noticed was Elsa had a little dandruff, which may have been from the shorter cut. I loved the fact the cut was perfect, appointment was easier to make than most groomers, and I received a discount. Thanks Edgardo! read more

Bought a hamster for my son - it was the only one they had left. Got it home and immediately new something was wrong with it. Hamster has an infection called "wet tail." Took it back and was told they would have their vet try to treat it but said most likely won't make it. Checked up a couple days later, vet said not doing well and the whole batch of hamsters they got were sick and that this one shouldn't have been sold. Called Petsmart across the street and was told they're no longer selling hamsters as they have had so many issues with their supplier and sick hamsters. Willing to bet it's the same supplier as Petco. Couple days later we decided to purchase another hamster from Petco as they had a new batch of them. We picked one out who the worker lovingly nicknamed Sable, assured us this group was healthy and they sterilized all the cages etc. said that the guy who sold is the first one should have recognized there was an issue and not sold it. Got new hamster home and when we pulled her out of the box noticed her pee looked milky but didn't have diarrhea like the last one. Couple days later and yep, wet tail. Took her back to Petco and even after talking with the store manager, they continued to refuse to take her back because we didn't have a receipt. We even pointed out the guy who sold it to us who then cowardly walked away and hid from us. Told them call Petsmart, they haven't had any hamsters, where else would we buy it? They did relinquish her to the vet but even tho they know they have an issue with their hamsters and supplier, would not refund our money. Made a huge fuss about our receipt - over a $20 hamster. Wouldn't even search using our credit card like any other store. I don't care about the $20, but that they denied that they had a problem and that they pretended we were never there, all in front of our heart broken 9 year old is just plain sad. Will never frequent any Petco store again. read more

I have been a patron of this store for years. Not a big selection on fish decoration, but store is usually clean and the people seem knowledgeable. Good place for fish when they have them. Petsmart has more decoration, but their staff is usually lazy and their fish department is always less than average. - Loganville, Snellville, and Monroe stores. read more

Meh. Last few visits, the place is not smelling very nice, and more than once when I've gone to check out, there is no one at the register. The last visit, there was a young lady--employee--at the front who looked at two of us at the check out and turned back to what she was doing. From entry this Petco smelled funky; I guess it is hard to keep the place clean and tidy! And what's with the DIM lighting and atmosphere here(?) not really welcoming! Staff was very spartan and seemed put-off to being there which is why every time I have ever stepped foot into a Petco (I have been into more than one Petco), I find myself turning around and heading to the competitor. Prices are higher at Petco as well and they only seem to stock what is the most popular sellers over anything else (yes Petco, why sell some hard items and never carry the soft items to support it; such as kitty litter box liners)! Was told by Manager Irwin he would Not sell me an angel fish because he was making it the store "Mascot" ! It was clearly marked with a price label on the tank for $12.99! There was No notation that this particular fish was Not for sale. We are new to the area and decided to take our Yorkie here since the one in NY did an awesome job. After arriving,we selected the full grooming package, the groomer insisted we add nail buffing , which we did. We spoke with the groomer and advised her that we grew our Yorkie's hair out so that he can get the bear cut ,Worst mistake ! We were told our Yorkie would be ready within 2-3 hours. Less than an hour after his drop off, I received a call that he was done and ready . When we arrived I was in total shock.I can not believe how horrible my Yorkie's hair cut was, not only did she cut ALL OF HIS HAIR OFF, it was completely uneven and had longer strands scattered through his coat. I could have done a better job! To top it off, You would think that after she sold us on the nail buffing she would have actually buffed his nails. NOPE. To make matters worst, she was not there,the manager and her co workers shook their heads and apologized and took pictures of my poor baby.They apologized and told me that she was new they would have another groomer fix it and that they would not charge me. Fix what? She cut all of his hair off, minus random long strands, he was unrecognizable. The fact that they allowed someone who wasn't experience cut on my babies hair and without supervision is unacceptable. He will not be back !! read more

Usually my pets grooming is done much better. After inspecting them they were all zugged up and long and short everywhere. Even the tails were not cut at all. I always say the same cut as the last time. I guess a new/different person did it. I love how Missy use to do there trim/cut. She knew exactly how I liked it. Maybe she is not working there anymore but the new reps need more training. read more

We generally come here for the pals rewards, for our dog. However with recently getting some fish we had to get a tank and all the stuff with it. SARAH is awesome, great help, very knowledgeable, friendly and can keep going on how great she was. She did an incredible job with Charlie. He was pretty matted. The vet said that I had to bring him back for sedation to get him cut or they'd need 3 people to do it. I brought him here and they had no problem at all. Charlie did fantastic and she did a fabulous job!! Which I am so glad because the vet had me so freaked out. read more

This is my go-to Petco shop. They have the healthiest fish from any mega-chain store near. Today I stopped in to pick up some new fish, and the associate that helped me (I don't recall a name, but she was a nice blond lady) was a great help. She went far beyond what I would expect, and have received, from an employee. She ran down everything, and made sure I knew what was necessary to maintain healthy fish. I could tell she enjoyed the area in which she worked, which made the overall experience enjoyable. I will note, there is a slight smell to this store (I presume from the ferrets), but nothing overbearing. read more

Petco in Snellville, GA ...First 2 times in store good. Did not help while on sales floor but check out was easy and polite. Matched my dog treats with newegg.com. Yesterday March 23 was a different story. They refused to match newegg.com. Said they can only match petco.com. Told them I would bring receipt as proof they matched. Nope. Said it was not her so she won't do it. Asked for store manager. Nope. Would not call or even offer their name. I said fine give me your District Managers name. Nope. Said they did not have her name or contact information. I worked retail over 20 years. I know that is not true. Sad that newegg.com just gained a permanent customer over $7.89. People wonder why retailers are going out of business. This is a prime example. I choose no service through online over dis-service of a retailer and the people they hire who are not empowered to make good business decisions. Just makes no sense. read more

Very disappointed at the lack of customer service delivered by the manager. I hate that I did not get her name but she was working Tuesday night 9/18/12. I had came in 10 minutes to closing and just needed to get a harness and puppy food. I had came up to the counter in time to pay and asked if I had the right size harness for my puppy. The clerk must have been new and did not realize the store's registers lock up just after the closing time and offered to go over to the harnesses and help me pick one out. After long deliberation of the right type of harness she walks off and I am about to walk up to the register. She then comes back to tell that we can not check out because the register is locked up and they have no control over it. My puppy was completely out of food and the food he eats is not sold at a grocery store. So here I am stuck with no food for my dog! I asked if they could just figure out the cost of the food and I could write them a check and they could ring it up in the morning when they open. The clerk was very apologetic and helpful so she went to ask the manager if they would allow her to do this and the manager came out acting like she knew nothing and said "Yes". So I said, "great so you will help me and do this then?" And she said, " do what exactly?" Knowing the clerk had just went into her office and told her the situation. I explained to her what had happened and offered to just write a check for what the food would be and they could ring it up in the morning and she said, "NO!" She would not do that and was very unhelpful to my situation. I was very upset and ended up having to go to Kroger to get Iams dogfood which I will continue to purchase for my puppy because I will not be returning to Petco in Snellville! The clerk was very sweet and helpful but the manager was NOT! I have been a regular customer of Petco for several months but not any more! Way to go, you lost a customer! I would think in this economy you would want to do everything you can to keep your customers! read more
