Koi fish floating on the pond surface
    Andres C.

Petco at Snellville has no regard for costumer service. When I went to buy some Koi fish I had to wait over 20 minutes to finally get a representative at the aquatics section. I bought seven Koi fish and a week later there of them were dead (I have over a dozen koi on my pond for over four years). I went back to the store to have them replace under they warranty period policy (I also brought a sample of pond's water). This time I encountered a few representatives going in and out of the store and only one person running the cashier at the front desk. I waited again for someone in aquatics. After almost 30 minutes I had to ask for the manager; she finally came out and reluctantly revived the dead fish. The manager and one of the associates were very rude and dismissive. Instead of replacing the fish the manger credited back my card and asked me to go back to aquatics and purchase the fish again (made no sense to me) but I went with the receipt and waited another 20 minutes for an associate to help. Finally the fish were not at the same price I bought them a week before and the store manager wasn't willing to honor the price I bought them for (under warranty) so I decided to leave the store after waiting an hour of my time and revived a very rude service. Petco of Snellville is often understaffed; employees are not friendly or cooperative and they don't honor their warranty like they do at other stores.

Edgardo is my fur baby's new best friend! I was definitely skeptical about bringing my Elsa here for grooming, but she was a hot mess so I figured why not?! Her appointment was at 10am on a Wednesday and she was ready about 2pm. I love the fact they offer 25%off for first time clients. They recommended a length for her coat, and offer suggested the traditional Schnauzer cut to try out. Since she's a mix breed I usually go with something a little more feminine. Edgardo followed the exact directions I gave him and had my Elsa looking super adorable!! The only thing I noticed was Elsa had a little dandruff, which may have been from the shorter cut. I loved the fact the cut was perfect, appointment was easier to make than most groomers, and I received a discount. Thanks Edgardo!

I took both of my dogs there, paid a premium for service and when I returned I noticed my boxer had a red eye. I asked the lady what happened and she said, "he has a cold in his eye". What?? The next morning his eye appeared to be hanging out of his face. I took pics and emailed my vet, he said to take him to an emergency vet. Needless to say, $750 later, my dog barely escaped with an eye. Apparently his eye was scratched with what they believe was a fingernail and it tore his cornea. When I called the owner she said, we are not responsible, accidents happen. Seriously?!?? This dog is like my child! Had I been notified I could've taken the dog to the regular vet and saved some money. Not knowing cost me lots more. To boot, the owner refused to refund any of my fees for the substandard care my dogs received. Since this was the 3rd time my dogs have been abused or neglected, I won't return. And I'm fighting the credit card company on the fees for the lack of service my dogs received. Absolutely love this place. My dog is excited to come here and "forgets" me when we hit the parking lot. For him to be excited about going here makes me feel at ease leaving him. I've had a bad experience before and the dog spot has renewed my faith! If you have to tug your dog into a boarding spot, it's not the right one. If he pulls you in, you're at the dog spot!!

This is my puppy's first bath and trim (he was about 5 months old). Him being a shih Tzu- I intend to keep his fur long as I do not like the "teddy bear short cut look". Scheduling: Appt scheduling was very simple. Staff was very nice. Appearance: Upon arriving, It can be a little confusing as the sign is not lit up. It's a little past the opening where the Home Store is so be aware to keep going! Inside, it smelled like a old dogs inn. Just like a dog. Didn't feel the clean spa- like feeling I thought I would get. Staff: The staff were not masked, but still nice. I just want to say Lindsay was sooo sweet! The sweetest. Explained things in good detail and really nice. Experience: I asked them to let me know if there were any issues as he is a very scary pup. She told me she would try to save some of his fur as there was a mention it was matted pretty bad. He was shaved balled. My mom picked him up as I was at another appt and she said they kept apologizing and saying "he's alright". He wound up having really bad diarrhea for a few days and when I took him to the vet, they mentioned it was bacteria. It could have came from anywhere but he's not around any other dogs, and thought it was funny he got it right after coming home. I'm thinking because the place was not as clean as I'd hope. They were also a little pricey. The rate was higher than my neighbors who has a Yorkie. In addition, with the extra vet bill, this grooming costs me over $140 so I will mostlikely be searching for a new one. Just as a note, He smelled really good and appeared to be okay but I will not likely take him back.

We'd adopted him a year prior, when he was approximately three years old. Throughout the year, Remus had struggled off and on with minor/moderate behavioral issues-- leash walking, listening to commands, dominance issues with other dogs, and snapping. Two minor bite incidents had also occurred within this time. And though both incidents were a result of Remus being provoked, we still felt like we were at the point of taking severe action. Our wonderful dog walker, Liam, suggested we see a Certified Behavior Consultant and recommended Chris/The Balanced Dog. From the moment Chris stepped into our house, I knew she was the answer. She had practical and applicable knowledge that went above and beyond what we expected. Her insight was dead-on, and her knowledge was astounding. She understood the biology that led to common behavior problems, and related it to us in a tangible way. She was funny, and no nonsense. I instantly connected. During our first meeting, she took time to listen. She heard our concerns, and listened to our fears. For the first 30 minutes to an hour, Remus wasn't in the room. She wanted to observe his response to separation, and she wanted to get to know us. When we finally let Remus out of the back room, Chris really started to shine. She was so confident. She played games with him, all the while explaining exactly why she was moving and interacting in specific ways. Remus knew she was different, and his response to her was unlike anything I'd ever seen. By the end of the lesson, we were up on our feet interacting with Remus in a new way. When she left, I cried into Adam's shoulder. It was the first time since we adopted Remus that I truly felt like it was going to work out for the long run. Some things to keep in mind as you prepare to work with Ms. Chris... 1. You have to work consistently with your pup throughout the week, and practice what Ms. Chris is teaching you during your lesson. 2. You can't be afraid. As Ms. Chris said to me once when I was freaking out, "Amy, your dog is not Cujo." 3. Your dog's behavior is way more about YOU and how you're communicating than it is about your dog. If you can remember those (3) things, as you start this process with The Balanced Dog, you'll be successful. Chris gave us our lives back. She taught us how to communicate with Remus, and how to help him alleviate stress. He is a completely different dog, and our family bond is much stronger. Chris is accessible-- she speaks on your level (even though I'm 99% positive she is MUCH smarter than all of us). If you're struggling, and wrestling with tough decisions, call Chris first. She will be a huge asset to your team and you will absolutely not regret it.
