I've been in to this petco multiple times and usually favor it to petsmart down in the crossings just because of the location. It's a decent store usually. A couple weeks ago we scheduled my dog to get a groom. I usually groom my dogs myself but it's good to have a professional reset every once in awhile. First time I went in I forgot her paper work which was entirely my fault. Second time I came in with her paperwork they looked over everything including my dog, but then didn't ask me till the very end if I was over 18 or had an adult with me. I'm not 18 yet. Had to have a family member drive over just to sign the paper for her to be dropped off. Then I come to pick her up, by myself. I wait a good few minutes before someone comes out to help, she starts with " do you have an adult with you?" ... no? I don't because I was never told the other two times I was in here already that I would need someone over 18 to pick up my dog. Have to call my family member back over to the store so I can pick up my dog. I hate to be so judgmental but the people who work at this store really have no idea what they're doing. Zero communication and in all honesty they were pretty short with me. They acted like they had no interest in helping me. My dog has a decent groom, I'm not in love with it but they got the few big knots out that she had and did a good hygiene cut. Overall, super unhelpful people. read more

This review is based on my experience I had with an employee named, Mac. She was super kind when we arrived and helped us find what we needed. We were in a big hurry and Mac got us in and out quick while having a very pleasant attitude! I love when I walk into businesses and employees are genuinely pleasant and welcoming. Great job Mac! I am Instacart Shopper. Yesterday, one of the items I had in my app to shop was a medication that is kept behind the counter. When I walked up to the counter, I was greeted with a hasty "Are you using a code or a card to pay?" I explained that I needed the Advantix II from behind the counter to add to my order. And immediately was told "code or card to pay??" I showed him my app and said, "I can't move to the checkout part of the app until I scan the Advantix." The cashier started raising his voice and saying "No passive aggressive! No passive aggressive!" I said once again, "I can't answer the question you're asking me until I scan the product behind the counter." He again started saying "No passive aggressive, please." My husband who was with me was about to get involved when he walked away to get the product we needed. I was shocked. I didn't do anything passive aggressive. He simply would not listen to our explanation of needing the final product before we could move to the checkout process. He was not wearing a nametag, but my receipt said that someone was checking us out whose name began with an E. The receipt was very faint. I'm not sure what triggered him. But it was as if he was treating me differently because I'm an Instacart Shopper. He was also asking a question that made no sense in our process. I have two pets in my home. I shop Petco for the supplies. Whether I'm shopping for my pets or for my customers, I should be treated the same. Sounds like some additional training is needed for this employee. read more

This petco is very unprofessional and unreliable. I booked a grooming appointment weeks ahead. Received text reminders every day leading to my appointment, including the morning of - warning me to bring my dog's vaccination records. I spent all week hunting them down and preparing. I get to petco on time for the appointment, then find myself waiting outside for them to let me in. I kept checking the time realizing they might think I'm running late. I pried the doors open to go inside when I got ANOTHER notification about my appointment. Noticed 2 women hiding in a back room. They came out minutes later explaining how the groomer called in sick and they had no openings for me. So they were watching me (6 months pregnant) standing outside with my dog for 20 minutes hoping I'd go away instead of simply walking out there to tell me it's been cancelled. Then did nothing to make up for it. Hiding from customers with little customer service skills taking responsibility. I witnessed several other customer go through the same experience. I'd rather drive 20 more minutes to PetSmart than wait outside to be ignored by petco employees. Waste of time and effort to go there. Do not recommend. read more

Took my dog there for grooming & when I picked her up, there was blood on her ear where they cut her while trimming her ear!! No apology .., I paid & left & will NEVER go Back!!' We have been going to petco for many years. We started using Petco over 10 years ago. I used to love the way they use to take care of my dogs. The last few years in Spring Hill, I noticed that my dogs are not welcomed at that store. No one has offered my dogs a biscuit or welcomed us into the store. The final straw was the lack of returned calls from the grooming department. I finally stopped by to check on my appointment, only to find out that the groomers never booked the appointment. I want a pet store and grooming salon to welcome the customer, and apparently Petco is not the store that wants our business. read more

Five stars for Petco! They did an amazing job with grooming my Pom and the manager (I think) has been super helpful in helping us pick out food that our cat can eat (he has cancer and is having trouble chewing and swalllowing). I absolutely love this Petco! We adopted a 6 week old puppy a few months back. It felt like we lived here between buying puppy pads, food and jackets (yes....our puppy loves clothes). We have always had great customer service from all employees. They are knowledgeable about products and we never were made to feel dumb asking new puppy parent questions. Once our puppy was fully vaccinated we signed up for puppy training through Petco. The puppy training has been awesome. We signed up for 12 weeks worth of classes and are in week 10. The trainer (Jennifer) is great and very hands on. She takes the time to work through specific issues we are having. The prices are some of the best around and they have a great online store that ships to your home and does auto ship for food. We have a big dog so autoship is helpful. Long story short, we love Petco read more

This petco is absolutely fabulous! The employees here seem to really love their jobs and the animals. They are always so kind and extra friendly. Do not spend one cent at this store! We live less than a mile from this Petco, and after how We have been treated over the past three visits, we will not be returning. A month ago, after picking up my dog from grooming, I sat at the register for 12 minutes while the lone cashier shared pictures of her pet sugar glyder to another customer. She didn't even acknowledge me. Today, I stopped in to get one of the grooming services posted on the website and in the store as a "face, fanny and feet" trim - posted in both places as a WALK-IN service. After waiting for 15 minutes behind ONE customer checking in... the woman working there (tall w red hair - I know this as she's been rude and aggressive to my dog in the past) finally came back to the register, looked at me and said"Yes?" Explain to her that I was here to get the walk in service. She rudely told me that I would need an appointment for that service. I inquired further - I showed her on her menu RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER that the "face, fanny and feet" service was a WALK-IN service and she literally scolded me by saying, "No, we need an appointment for that and today we are busy. You need an appointment." I again showed her the menu, suggesting that if an appointment is needed, they need to change their menu and website. She finally looked down at the menu, scoffed as she realized I was correct, and said, "Well, we can't help you until 4 today..." which was 5 hours later. I said "No thank you..." and walked out. I understand if they are busy... I get it. But this was downright rude, unprofessional and not the only time this has happened. How could I leave my dog with people who don't wven know how to treat humans with basic customer service? This has now happened multiple times with this person. There used to be a younger man who worked the grooming station and he was gentle and great... I think he's gone. Do yourself a favor. Got to PetSmart by Target or a professional groomer. The extra $$ is worth not having to deal with the poor attitude and lack of professionalism. read more

Decided to schedule a grooming appointment for my puppy's first time (and mine) at Petco. My Fiancé dropped her off and was told that a cut, trim and wash takes about 4 hours or so. Not complaining. I'm more confused as to why they would over book grooming appointments, and lie about status updates when you call to ask when she would be ready. Needless to say, they didn't even give her a cut, and we wasted 6 hours of her being in a cage. Not coming back. Terrible waste of time for us and our dog for something we could have done at home, which was bathe her. End of rant. read more

Very disappointed in many ways. My daughter paid for my dog and hers to do training there. You can get a refund within 30 days if you change your mind. However it was a couple of months before they scheduled us. In that time, my daughters dog came up missing. She was heartbroken and we posted everywhere online and with flyers. Petco refused to refund her money. So on top of her heart break, they kept her money, because it was past the 30 days. I believe that's why they wait so long to schedule. I went ahead and took my Great Dane to the training. The training is a joke. 1st you are in the middle of the store with a lot of people going through shopping and distracting the dogs while you are trying to get your dog to pay attention. 2nd we were in a cubicle with about 10 other dogs. My Dane was a baby but is nearly the size of my horse. Try to imagine restraining a horse sized dog that doesn't realize his size, only that he is a puppy in a cubicle the size of a small bathroom, with at least 10 other dogs and 18 to 20 people. He's a puppy, he wants to play with the other dogs. It was completely impossible to try to restrain him. I have trained many other dogs that I have fostered and had over the years, including Rotties and Doberman etc., but this Dane is a lot of dog to control and was my point for some extra help. So amidst the people going through the store and trying to see the dogs, the crunching of people and dogs in a cubicle, all I could accomplish through the "training", was continually trying to control a dog that weighs more than I do, that doesn't realize his size, only that he's a pup. The trainer spent most of the time telling about herself, things going on in her life, and all about her dogs. You get a sheet of paper listing commands and that's something you can get off the internet. By the end of the classes, she, as always, spent class time (1 hour) to tell us about someone that was sick in her family and said that she may not be there the next week, but that she would let us know. I took that to mean that she would contact us and tell us class was on. But once again, not being able to spend much time listening while continually trying to restrain, I misunderstood and missed the last class and my Dane didn't get his certificate. The trainer told me he would have to go through the class again to get his certificate. Another rip off. Eh, we didn't learn anything anyway, so no real loss and typical of how Petco does business. What is taught there you can do on your own. I wanted to write the corporate office but haven't been able to find any way to contact them. If you don't have a way to contact the corporate office there's something wrong. The read more

My parents have been going to petco over the past 3 years and they've been good until now. For the first time ever the petco manager called us and complained about our older dog with the grooming services. Our dog has a bit of trouble standing when it comes to getting his nails clipped, so if you have a dog with arthritis in its legs or anywhere DO NOT TAKE THEM THERE. They do not have the proper equipment for older dogs! THEY WILL NOT ACCOMMODATE FOR OLDER DOGS! read more
