TLDR - these guys are great, and you will be in good hands should you choose them. The office is easy to find, and there's a parking lot next to the building. Everything was clearly laid out- cost, instructions, and what to expect before, during, and after the surgery. This is usually done at the consultations which cost $75 which was deducted from the cost of my surgery. They were very attentive and called to check-in regularly. The day after my surgery I was goofing around and got hit in my - just had surgery - eye. It was late, but the Dr. returned my call right away, reassured me, and ask that I come in the next day so he could take a look and make sure. In a round about way I am happy it was not just me who had a negative experience with the high & mighty Dr Levine. Too bad he's allowed to stay in business treating people this way though. The main descriptives i'd use to describe his demeanur are condescending, un-helpful, and high and mighty. He was cold and un-friendly and did not want to answer any of my basic questions. He told me at least 3 times in response to questions I had how he's been in business for 20 years as if that would answer my un-related questions. I was ready to walk out, but didn't and knew I would never go back within 5 min of talking to him. He has no business being in business! I have always been very difficult to anesthetize under local anesthetics, usually it wears off too soon or the sedation does not work. So when I first consulted Dr. Levin about a necessary blepharoplasty (because other surgeons did not want to do insurance work), I asked if he could do it under general anesthesia. He stated that he could, but that it would have to be at the Willow Pavilion at an extra charge. He then pointed out that he had something that most other cosmetic surgeons did not have: an accredited operating room, and that he used intravenous sedation, not oral. So, I agreed to local anesthesia, but when the day came I was terrified of waking up during surgery in great pain, as had happened with knee, sinus, and laser surgeries. Well, I did not wake up until long after the surgery was over. I had some minor pain that night, quelled by ice and Vicodin, but by the next morning I was pain free. I had minimal bruising and swelling, and in two weeks no one could tell that I had surgery. Dr. Levin accepted what my insurance paid for the upper lid surgery as payment in full, so I was able to afford lower lid surgery, too. Dr. Levin was meticulous and thorough, and though expensive, I got what I paid for, which was a high quality surgery and high quality care before, during, and after surgery. read more

I had eye cancer years ago and my eyelids were uneven possibly from radiation and Dr. Levin did an amazing job leveling them out. I went to Dr. Levin to have blepharoplasty, fat repositioning, along with a temporal brow lift and some skin lasering. I can't express how happy I am with, not only the procedure, but the care I experienced from the nurse (Jennifer) as well as the anesthesiologist (Dan). I was fairly nervous on the morning of the procedure, but they all made me feel like I was in great hands (which I was!). Even though I have the typical bruising and swelling that occurs after such a procedure, I can see what the end result is going to look like and I am so pleased. I had a consultation with a different doctor. I really didn't like they way they handled my consultation and billing. My ophthalmologist gave me another referral for Dr. Levin for entropion surgery. I wanted my surgery to be done by someone who was well known and had experience working on Asian eyes. Consultation/Pre-op: The consultation was very easy. I told him about the problems I have with my eye and what my ophthalmologist and I hope to accomplish with entropion surgery. Dr. Levin explained the procedure, told me what to expect and allowed me to ask questions. Eye things freak me out. Even after MANY years of having to do eye drops throughout the day, I still get bothered by eye drops. The entire office was very warm, welcoming and helpful. I had some issues with my insurance and I was in the middle of moving to TX. Cindra and Dr. Levin were understanding of my situation and very helpful. Jennifer and Dr. Levin were extremely nice. This was my first time getting surgery. They tried to comfort my nerves. They seemed like they really cared about me and wanted me to feel better. They took their time to make sure all my questions and concerns were addressed. The other doctor I saw made me feel like I was just another transaction. It makes a huge difference to have a caring team when you're doing surgery. Surgery/Post-op: The surgery went smoothly. I thought I would be in a lot of pain after the surgery but I wasn't. I was just swollen. I followed the post-op instructions and everything was fine. It took me about a week to look normal but I was still very careful about not straining my eyes and staying out of the sun. Overall, everything went smoothly and I had a great experience. Amazing opthalmologist! I had to get entropion surgery a few years ago and Dr. Levin did a great job. A few years ago, my lower eyelids were rolling inward, irritating my eyes and causing a lot of vision problems. One opthalmologist, Dr. Lien Nguyen (if I could write a scathing review about her I TOTALLY WOULD but she's no where to be found on yelp) was such a moron who didn't care about my situation but only wanted my specialist doctor copay. So after I complained to my insurance provider, they set up an appointment with Dr. Levin for me, and I'm so glad that they did. His staff is absolutely wonderful and accomodating too. Not once did I feel that he was in it for the money. If anyone has any vision problems/issues, I would definitely recommend Dr. Levin! read more

Dr. Levin is a wonderful physician who is honest and skillful. I received upper eye filler to correct an even eyelid fold. Results were great! Recovery was a bit more stressful than I anticipated due to swelling (which is normal for this area). Office staff was very helpful and guided me every step of the way. I've had a problem with my right eye lid for over 5 years and finally went to my doctor and asked for help in finding a doctor that could deal with my problem. I was given Dr. Peter Levin name and called to make my appointment. From the time I walked into Dr. Levin's office I was treated like I was their first customer. Dr. Levin told me I had Entropion in my right eye and surgery would correct this. With in a few weeks I went into surgery and an hour after my surgery I didn't have the problem anymore. I had a consultation with Levin a few year back. What a waste of money and time! I paid approx $90 to let him insult me. No words came out of his mouth was any helpful. He does not care about patients. It's obviously money is his only concern. Absolutely no empathy. I can almost feel my blood pressure goes up very time I see his name on the internet. I went to him only because he advertised in Google as an expertise in blepharoplasty at the time. His name came out on the top of the google PAID search result. I am still pissed off. Dr. Levin and his staff are fantastic! In the same month I was losing my health insurance, I started experiencing issues with my eye from a previous injury 22 years ago. I saw my a ophthalmologist and when he could not figure out what was going on, he referred me to see Dr. Levin. Doctor Levin was not seeing any new patients at this time, and definitely not doing surgery, as he was leaving town for two weeks the following week. Fortunately, Dr. Levin's staff squeezed me in and ended up scheduling me for surgery that very week. They completely rearranged his schedule to accommodate my insurance and medical needs, as the surgery was necessary. Doctor Levin can be a little rough around the edges, but having had experience with multiple doctors and plastic surgeons over the years, I have become very accustomed to this. He could not guarantee a positive outcome, but advised me to do the surgery. Knowing his reputation and having had a previous surgery done by him when I was nine, I chose to trust him. I am completely pain free and happy with the results of my surgery. I am so grateful for him and his staff for making a scary situation go away. Doctor Levin may not have the best bedside manner according to some, but he cares and is great at what he does. I even classified him as "insensitive" until he called me on his cell phone from the airport to check in on me! They bent over backwards to take care of me, and I'm so glad they did. read more

I'm a super busy person and normal have no time posting a review, but my experience with Dr. Levin's office was extremely awful and unacceptable, I feel compelled to post it here for others to be aware. Unfortunately I agree with all the other negative comments posted here, I felt exactly the same, condescending and disrespectful, cold and unfriendly, arrogant and overbearing. It appeared that they didn't care or want to listen to what we say, they only do what they want to do and what they can do. They're not accommodating with the appointment and scheduling, they don't care about the patients based on my experience. Worst of all, I was treated so badly by the office staff Cindra, she was rude and disrespectful to me, she even hang up on me multiple times while I was talking to her regarding the treatment. It's very shocking the way they treat people. Although I read the reviews prior to my visit and prepared myself with my expectations, I was so disappointed and felt insulted every time after the visit. Therefore I felt the urge to warn everyone, so you know who you are dealing with. Had I have a choice, I would rate this place a Zero. read more

I had elective Asian upper blepharoplasty in 2015 & a small touch up within a year (included in fee); local anesthesia & awake during surgery. No pain postop. Dr. Levin & his staff are patient,caring, reassuring, honest, & easy to talk to about questions & concerns. He is conservative in not removing too much skin initially & can always touch up later if needed after eyelids have healed & settled in. My eyelids are no longer heavy, droopy & tired looking. I have better peripheral vision, feel more awake. Eyes look alert, natural - not bug eyes - & younger looking. I work in medical field & happy that I entrusted Dr.Levin & staff. Compare other MD consultations & you will most likely choose Dr.Levin & his team !! Also...I'm surprised by previous reviews that he was condescending. In my experience...not at all! He is calm, serious, straightforward, honest in presenting risks/outcomes. He asked what my expectations were. After the meeting I had to struggle with why I need to deal with him in the first place. Just because my optometrist referred me?! Nope... Extremely impressed with the integrity and professionalism of Dr. Levin and his office manager. I went to his office in Sept with a number of issues, he listened patiently, asked questions to ensure that we were talking about the same thing, and gave thorough answers. He was cautious and conservative and professional in his approach. For one matter, he even took the trouble to print out an article about women in S. Korea undergoing both surgical and non-surgical procedures to get what I complain of -- they consider it a sign of youth. (Maybe I should move to Korea?) I find him a most ethical doctor. At one point I said that I'm glad that at mid-fifties, I don't have crows feet and hope not to develop any, and inquired about getting botox in that area to prevent getting them. He asked me to smile and said given my age and that I have no lines there, and there's no indication that I would develop crows feet , he really cannot recommend that I waste my money. Office manager Cindra also took the time to address some of my concerns, in the same ethical manner as the doctor. His consultation fee was a very reasonable $75, and for that he gave me full attention, spending about 45 minutes patiently and thoroughly explaining why my concerns are best left untouched. I just had lower blepharoplasty with Dr. Levin about a month ago. I am absolutely thrilled with the results, my eyes look and feel exactly how I expected them to. I had prominent fat pads underneath my eyes for my entire life (hereditary) and for some reason in the last two years, my lower eyes began to feel progressively more achy. Dr. Levin was upfront and said that the surgery may not make them feel better but it'll definitely make them look better. I really liked that about him, he doesn't give you false hope, makes things very clear, and is a true professional. I am a healthcare professional as well and I didn't see him as condescending, he's a bit eccentric, however I found him very easy to talk to and trusted him completely. I will try to age gracefully but if I ever do decide to get some more work on my eyes in the future, I'm definitely returning to Dr. Levin. read more

I honestly cannot speak highly enough of Dr Levin and the practice. I was recently diagnosed with a melanoma on my eyelid and have just been through surgery to remove the lesion and reconstructive surgery with Dr Levin. He has been kind, patient, sympathetic and probably most importantly there when I really needed him. During the initial phase of discussion and understandable emotion, he maintained a very calm but realistic outlook and showed much compassion and understanding for the situation. I noted some other comments about his style - but although he can be a little quirky - I think this comes from his desire to be straight and honest and my overwhelming feeling is that he is so professional and genuinely seems to care about attaining the best possible results for the patient, but providing a realistic outlook. Most recently, on a Sunday morning I had something bothering my eye and he responded to my call and opened up his office to help me! His concern was only with me and not with inconvenience to him. I also have to say that the office team have been really caring and efficient in all of my interactions with them. Cindra has been fantastic at coordinating with other practices to make sure everything is scheduled efficiently and is a pleasure to deal with. Jennifer is caring and kind and delightful to see. Dr. Levin helped undo the damage caused by another physician. I was in a lot of pain in both eyes, and Dr. Levin squeezed me in the same day that I called. He spent a lot of time assessing my situation, then did a simple in-office procedure that significantly reduced the pain in my eyes. He even called me on the weekend to give me an additional tip to help reduce the pain. I am truly grateful that Dr. Levin was willing to jump in and fix another doctor's mess, squeeze me in as soon as possible, and let me know that he would do all he could to help me. Dr. Levin performed ptosis repair surgery on me in December. I had a great experience - most importantly the surgery went very well but also Dr. Levin and his staff (Jen and Cindra) were very friendly and professional. I had acquired moderate ptosis in my left eye. It appeared when I was about 27 (I'm a 32 years old white male). Dr. Levin was very confident in his abilities to do the surgery but was also very honest and frank that ptosis repair (especially on just one eye) is not always a guaranteed success (at least to get that perfect symmetry you want). I appreciated the honesty and I understood the risks before I went through with it. I found Dr. Levin through the American Society of Opthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. I suggest if you are looking for a surgeon you use their website. Dr. Levin has got all the qualifications you would expect (Stanford, John Hopkins) and is probably the most respected opthalmic plastic surgeon in the Bay Area (and likely the US). He listened to my concerns, did a thorough eye exam, and gave me his honest opinion on what could be done to correct my drooping eyelids. His staff gave me all the literature regarding the surgery and went over everything in detail and answered all my questions. I have weak lower eyelids which cause severe eye irritation. Some 8 years ago I had a palate grafting procedure to the lower lids which helped greatly. Over the years they have again become lax and I had a consultation with Dr. Levin. He did not offer any real options and di not believe that further surgery would help He never suggested a "cheek lift". On my own I sought out other options and had a cheek lift done which has solved the problem completely. He should have been aware that this was a viable option. I am very disappointed. He is so "full of himself" that I would NEVER trust him to perform any medical procedure on me. He doesn't "listen" to the patient and belittles everything you say. I had both upper and lower blepharoplasty with Dr Levin over a year ago and am very happy with the results and with the experience. I am a 55 year old male engineer and had been considering this for years but am very very cautious. I have not even wanted to look into a mirror for 10 years because I hated the way the bags under my eyes looked, but I thought it would be too vain of a thing to do. After a while though, my upper lids started to droop as well, to the point where sometimes I'd wake up in the morning and my upper eyelid would touch my eyelash feeling like there was something in my eye. I started to become even more self conscious, and tried to avoid face to face meetings with clients, so I decided I really needed to do this. Dr. Levin was the 4th plastic surgeon that I consulted with. The 1st one was in Los Gatos and did mainly boob jobs and although he also did eyes, I wanted a specialist. I wanted someone that knows all about eyes and only eyes. Although I wouldn't normally complain about seeing large breasted beautiful women prancing in and out of the office, this was not the place I wanted for eye surgery. And their office was a little pushy with the follow ups, which really killed it for me. The 2nd was mainly an ophthalmologist who also does plastic surgery and came highly recommended from a dermatologist that I had gone to for something else. I had two consultations with him but he seemed disorganized and unable to explain the process very well. He was the opposite of pushy though and seemed to not care less one way or the other. On the second visit I had been planning on setting it up but after talking with him again I got the impression that he just didn't care enough so I left again saying I'd think about it. The 3rd place said I was a fairly extreme case and that I could use a facelift as well. I was not interested in any of that and was a little put off by the suggestion. Dr. Levin and his staff struck just the right balance for me. They answered all my questions and Dr. Levin took his time. He focused on what was bothering me. I had done my homework and researched the procedure and he seemed to appreciate that and went into more detail than he might have otherwise. I explained that I felt tired a lot and just had to rest my eyes to feel better. He explained that the surgery was cosmetic and that I should not count on any relief from that. He said it could take up to a year for final results, which in these days of instant gratification, no one likes to hear. Being cautious, I made a second consultation just to talk to Dr. Levin and his staff again and to feel more comfortable about the whole thing, even though I didn't really have any more questions. They were very accommodating and took the extra time to talk to me so I went for it. I had watched enough surgeries on the Discovery Channel to know what to expect but my wife was pretty shocked when she picked me up after the surgery. It looked really bad. I must admit that I had several days of "OMG WHAT HAVE I DONE TO MYSELF" feelings. But I tried to remember the 10 years leading up to this and that in time it would heal. I had the surgery on a Friday morning and Dr. Levin was nice enough to see me the next day on a Saturday morning to make sure all was well . Since I am a work-aholic I was back to work with sunglasses on Monday. Probably not a good thing to do. I didn't have any major complications, just a lot of discomfort. It took all of six weeks to really feel "normal" again. During that time, I probably would have said that it was a bad idea and that I wouldn't do it again. What I really liked was the fact that after I had made payment for the procedure, all of the follow ups were covered without being dinged each time like you are for normal doctor visits. I think I had a couple more follow ups than usual, just to alleviate my fears, and Dr. Levin and his staff were always very nice. At my 6 month follow up, Dr. Levin said that looking critically he thought he could still make a minor improvement by tightening the skin a bit further, but I opted to leave it as is since I was happy enough. I certainly don't look 20 again, but I don't avoid mirrors anymore and the sagging skin on my eye lash is completely fixed. I do feel less tired in general too. Maybe it is psychological, I don't know. But I think the surgery helped. I am very happy with Dr. Levin and would recommend him to anyone needing this type of work. read more

My 83 year old mother had her lower eye lashes poking into her eyes. She was referred to Dr. Levin for a consultation. While some people may not appreciate his matter of fact demeanor, he was an excellent surgeon. He was able to perform the surgery in his office. Then a few months later after cateract surgery, my mother had to then go back to have Dr. Levin correct her upper eyelid which was closing. This second surgery was not as successful as the first as they eyelid was still drooping a bit. However, Dr. Levin offered to redo the surgery at no cost to my mother and the final outsome was great. She just had her 6 month follow up appointment and she is very pleased with the outcome. While she does not wish to have any further eye surgeries, if she does need eye surgery again, she would definetly return to Dr. Levin. He is an outstanding surgeon!!!! read more
