Decided to go to this diner for breakfast during my first visit at Kingston. It was a recommendation to go to since a lot of breakfast places downtown were busy on a Sunday morning. Sadly there was still about a 20 minute wait for a table here so just be aware that you'll have to wait! The staff was moderately friendly but not super attentive. When water or coffee was low, we repeatedly asked for refills for our table of 5. As well, we waited over 30 minutes for food and asked twice for follow ups. The attitude was not the warmest when I asked but a response of "it is busy but your food will arrive" without anyone actually checking on our order. Once the food arrived, the toast was a bit browner and dryer than I'd like (but that's personal preference) and the pancakes were burnt sadly. Overall the food wasn't impressive and not worth the wait. It is possible I was unlucky and got a bad experience. I really did want to like this place but I'm afraid I won't be going back. read more

This is a cute diner with blazing fast service, but the food just really wasn't great. We ordered the $15 large breakfast meal and split it 2 ways. It was the perfect amount of food. There were a few things on the plate. The potatoes were outstanding - super yummy and not too mushy. The eggs, sausage, and toast were alright. The pancakes were the problem - they didn't taste fresh. We could have sworn that they tasted exactly similar to the pancake mixes where you only have to add water. We were really looking forward to a fresh stack of pancakes, so they were a big disappointment. We want to highlight the service speed; our food literally showed up in 5 minutes, which was super convenient. All in all, would probably not go back unless looking for reasonably priced food in a rush. read more

NEWLY RENOVATED! Peters has expended into the corner and has a attractive blend of diner and current decor! We went for lunch and chose Greek options - souvlaki wrap and moussaka. Just $8 each! The staff were fantastic and welcoming. There is more than food - they sell cheeses and olive oils and artisan chocolates. In-house, they make outstanding pastries. The baklava isn't overly sweet and comes in a delicate size. If you don't have room for any of the scrumptious cakes, still treat yourself to a couple of chocolate-covered peanut butter balls. Standard breakfast food for cheap in a homey, local diner! This place is popular with locals and is a hidden gem for students. This diner has traditional breakfast options for super cheap and good quality. I always get the Old Farm Style but I've had it with the sausage and bacon, both of which were good. I love coming here because the service is always great (the people are super friendly) and perfect for inexpensive homemade breakfast. PS. My lunch here today was really well done, so I'm genuinely shocked how someone below had a 1 star experience. That's yelp for you! Ample seating, friendly/attentive staff and great prices make for a perfect spot to duck your head in during a busy day. We ordered a gyro and western omelette and were surprised at both the portion size of the omelette and the deliciousness of both items. Stopped by here on the way to a 90th Birthday in Kingston. A narrow space that holds about 30 people with the simple decor of a greasy spoon - tables, chairs and not a whole lot else. We tried the omelets, pancakes, sausages, ham and eggs. Everything was great. Coffee was good too. They know how to get the tables turned during their busy time while still maintaing great service. Peter's Place is an institution among the , "where to eat breakfast" places in Kingston and one of my favourite places to eat breakfast on the planet. There's a reason why it's completely full every Saturday and Sunday morning - all morning. It seems that for the most part that you'll always have to wait for a table, though I've never waited more than 10 or so minutes for one. The staff is great and often just brings my girlfriend and I our tea and coffee when we sit. I always get # 13, which is the Big Farmer's Breakfast. $ 8.95 gets you 3 pancakes, 2 fresh eggs, sausage or ham or bacon, pan fried potatoes and a set of toast. I challenge you to find a better value or tasting breakfast in Kingston. If you're looking for a "drink your coffee - read the paper" type of place then this isn't it. I love the, "eat and get out because someone is waiting" atmosphere. A great little place that's well worth a visit. read more

Came here because people told us we HAVE to eat here. The place isn't much to look at, basic diner vibe, no frills. Whatever, I don't really care as long as the food is good! Service was pretty lackluster, and you can tell the waitresses don't care about going the extra mile. I can be fine with that, again as long as the food makes up for it. However, breakfast was very disappointing. Toast was cold and burnt and my omelette was extremely dry! If you want to gorge yourself on breakfast food on a budget, this is the place to go. I had the cheese omelette with home fries and an order of pancakes. The food was okay. Not amazing. But the portion sizes were enormous. I came in for Sunday brunch just before noon. We were seated immediately, but the place was full. We were lucky there was a table open. As we sat there and started eating, we noticed a line beginning to form at the door. By the time we had finished, there were two groups of four and two groups of three waiting to be seated. Peter's was bought by the family that owns Greektown in the west end. Greektown is known for their quality and good portion sizes. When Peter's was bought they expanded both the premises and the menu. IMO, they still have a great breakfast and very good coffee......I always ask for extra home fries..........so so good. Much of what you can get at Greektown you can now get at Peter's. I would highly recommend for breakfast and lunch. read more

I'm a new and BIG fan of Peter's Place. I'd heard lots about Peter's Place through the grapevine over the years, but never seemed to find an opportunity to set foot in the place. Luckily, while my folks were in town and wanted a good greasy spoon filling of breakfast, we checked out Peter's place! It was "so excellent" and "better than that other place we've gone" (I won't name names) according to my mom that we were here twice in one week! The portions are good, the service is speedy and the potatoes are done on the griddle and are well seasoned. My favourite breakfast is #7 - eggs, three meats (but hold the toast). Also - they take cash, credit and debit, so you'll avoid a trip to the atm for cash if that's not your thing. read more

This is my favourite place for breakfast and lunch!! Great prices, AMAZING food and great people! The soup is homemade and delicious. Daily special, is a small restaurant with minimal seating so might be a little bit of wait in peak hours but tot worth the wait! The service is fast and the staff are so friendly! I came to Kingston to do the Penn tour but came for a weekend. We went on a Saturday morning, we happened to walk by looking for a breakfast spot and decided to try it. We had to wait for about 5-10mins tops. Got in and ordered with the lovely staff. It was unusual busy apparently said the staff but the food came out super fast. My eggs were cooked right and was nice a hot when I got them. Bacon was crispy but jot burnt, just the way I like it. Potatoes and bread was great as well. All around we we're in and out quickly which was good because we wanted to tour around! It was great service and I'd go again! read more
