We had requested their service for a 3 year old water heater that had stopped working. They showed up when they said they would and the appointment process was straight forward. For their first visit they had reset the control panel on the water heater, told us if it occurs again the control panel would have to be replaced. It happened again requiring a second service visit to replace the control panel. After the replacement we started to see an F3 error message. This prompted a third visit at which time the technician told us if this message persists the water heater would need to be replaced. We were asked to call the manufacturer ourselves to replace the water heater under warranty. When we called the manufacturer we were told the F3 message means the control board was still in its factory setting. They walked us through a 3 minute programming which resolved the error. The water heater is finally working well. If this technician had simply programmed the control board on the second visit, we would not have needed a third visit at all. We were charged $180 for the third visit which was caused by the technician not programming the board. We have left 2 messages to speak to the manager regarding this over the last few weeks but we have not heard back. We are disappointed in their service. read more

They showed me via camera that the line was almost completely clear of debris (couldn't quite get some hard to reach tree roots) and recommended using root killer a couple of times per year to slow down the root invasions. You'd better hope their technician doesn't make a mistake that causes them to bill you for work not completed. This happened to us and Petersen Plumbing would not speak to us on the phone to resolve the issue. Instead, even after we called numerous times, they sent the bill to collections. Then we had a process server show up in front of our home on a Sunday morning yelling our names for everyone to hear. They were billing for work that was never done in the first place! And we had tried to resolve their mistake with them, but they wouldn't return our calls after the receptionist took several messages saying someone would look into the mistake. Now we've been embarrassed, harassed, and we are supposed to go to court to explain that Petersen Plumbing made a mistake and billed us for work they did not complete. $2000+ was the bill when they only did about $500! Have never had such a bad experience with a company! So upset. read more

Looking for a company that could do a maintenance check on our under the house sump pump. They were super responsive and friendly and could provide a service person immediately. Now plumbers are not cheap but I wouldn't want to be crawling under houses and encountering dead and alive critters so it is what it is. Sadly our pump was dead but they were able to replace it in the same visit and the price was very reasonable. For the last 10 years we have used Peterson for our plumbing needs. I called and set up an appointment for them to replace a faucet and install a water filtration system in my kitchen. Time was set between 8am and 9am. I had to be done by 1 pm to leave for other appointments. Day of service rolls around 8, 9, then at 9:30 I call and was told well my guy had an emergency not sure when he'd be there but we'll call. BUT THEY DID NOT CALL TO SAY HE'D BE LATE TO BEGIN WITH!!!!!!! WOW!!! COMMON they should have IMMEDIATELY called me it was like oh well too bad and oh we will fit you in again in a week. Do not, I repeat, do not use Petersen if you want a fair deal and a good product. I had a sump pump that was still under warranty that they removed and destroyed without telling me. Then when I asked the owner about it he said it was my problem. I could have got a $200 sump pump repaired but Petersen made me buy theirs. Our kitchen sinks backed up about 1:30 on a Friday afternoon. I tried to fix the problem by filling both sinks with with hot water and opened the drain. No, that didn't work and now both sinks are full of water So, who do I call? Petersen Plumbing of course! Plumber Alex and helper Charles were here by 3:00 and cleaned out (rooted??) our drains all the way to the back of the house. Alex is very personable, professional and had everything done and working in under an hour. He cleaned the "floor" under the sink and put everything away before leaving. I hope that yelp keeps this up. I never have yelped in my life. I had to in this situation because I am so grateful for the job Petersen just did for me. I had a huge plumbing job that I kept putting off after the initial, very expensive bid I got. A week before Thanksgiving the clog from the washer finally clogged to the kitchen sink and I could no longer use it. I called the original plumber and they said the first week of December. I called a couple other plumbers and they all said the same thing. I was panicked and finally called Petersen. They got me on the books for less then a week away and before Thanksgiving! They charge for travel time to your location. They charge 180$ per hour but count the time it takes to get to your location. So if it takes 20min to drive to your home that's 20min lost of that hour. read more

I had the first appointment of the day, 8am. At 10am I called to say no one had shown up. The office acknowledged that someone should have called me but didn't and then said "He hasn't shown up for work yet and we don't know when he will come in. This has happened before with him. GO WITH PETERSEN PLUMBING Simple dripping shower repair...they switched out gaskits/springs in 15 minutes. Both the senior plumber and apprentice knew exactly what this ball stem single lever shower system was and did the repair quickly. Both had old school manners and professionalism that one would hope for. PETERSEN PLUMBING was just over 1/2 of the quoted cost from Kevin Cohen Plumbing (of which I refused after technician appeared clueless about a simple repair. Having had no luck finding a plumber that I could trust, I was very pleasantly surprised by Peterson Plumbing. They responded to my request for a quote within a couple of hours even though it was a Saturday. They quoted a fair price that ended up being very accurate. They were able to schedule me on the day I wanted in less than a week. Santiago arrived within the time range I was given. He was courteous, professional, and worked steadily, finishing the project (replacing two toilets) in less time than expected. He answered my questions patiently and explained my options clearly. Installed a Norwitz Tankless HW heater. Called and left a message about having NO hot water over the weekend. No response. Called several plumbers and all were busy. When I called Peterson they were also booked but put me on the list for next day. Really wanted to get it fixed that day so I called Roto-Rooter in Springfield. This was a waste of my time and money. Roto-rooter essentially tried to put a band-aid on it. Didn't work so they gave me a high priced quote to fix it all and left. Called Peterson Plumbing and spoke with Craig. He told me that he could come look at it to see what would be needed to fix the issue the next day. When he came out, he had several ideas and told me how I could save some money on the repair by doing the excavation of the line myself. Craig came out the next morning and within an hour & a half had the issue fixed. He also recommended replacing the line eventually but then told me how to save money on it. Overall: Hire these guys for your plumbing needs, they do good work, are fast and friendly and they arrived when they told me they would. read more
