We have lived in our house for 27 years and we had never had a significantly clogged kitchen sink despite poor practices for disposal of food waste thru our garbage disposal. I tried numerous things to clear the clog, but made literally zero progress. Since we are also having an issue with a recently installed kitchen faucet, and our plumber was just days away from coming to our house to address that issue, I thought I would give our normal plumber a courtesy call to let him know of the additional service needed to make sure he would schedule enough time. It was then I discovered that our normal plumber is not in the business of unclogging drains! We'd aready lived with the problem for about 4 days, so I asked him who I should call. Our plumber recommended Action Drain. I checked online and saw good reviews for Action Drain, so I decided to give them a call. This was late in the afternoon. I called and immediately got ahold of Calvin who was on a job and told me he would call me back in about 30 minutes once he wrapped up the current job. He called me back promptly as stated. I explained the problem and while he considered trying to do the job yet that day, we settled on the following afternoon around 2 or 2:30PM. I got a call about 11:00AM the next morning and Calvin indicated he had just finished a job at Cottage Grove and he could head to my house now if that worked. That was great, so he showed up at about 11:30 and the clog was cleared before noon. He gave me some tips about keeping the drain clear. He also indicated that if I had any further problems to give him a call. The fee for the service provided was a great value. I very much appreciated Calvin's good communications and follow thru. When my kitchen sinks started draining very slowly, and the dishwasher leaked on to my kitchen floor I called Action Drain because of his good Yelp reviews. Calvin set an appointment for the next day and arrived very close to that time*. He started with the simplest methods to clear the clog...plunging and checking the u-joint under the sink. When those didn't work, he climbed his ladder onto my roof with his auger and spent at least 45 minutes working very hard until he was able to clear the drain completely of a terrible clog*. Then he checked everything thoroughly to make sure the water was flowing quickly through the pipes all the way to the street sewage line to finish the job*. An average drain cleaning call takes about 20 minutes, but mine took over an hour, a lot of really hard work, sweat, and tenacity*. Calvin stuck with it until he achieved a perfect result*...and his extra charge was very small*. AWESOME! Last thing you want to have to do is call a plumber, and then, who do you call? Who's competent, honest and won't gouge you into bankruptcy? Apparently this guy. Everyone else was booked out for two days, and but called ActionDrain based on yelp. Owner of Action Drain was working on a job in Veneta, I'm in South Eugene. He was on a job out in Veneta and told me his diagnostic rate, and said he'd be here in under an hour and he was. snaked the drain, 1 billable hr. at decent competitive rate. He also fixed a cheap hack with plumber's putty with a real gasket. He gave me all kinds of good information as well, preventative measures, workarounds. The guy was a real life-saver, professional, and communicates clearly and intelligently. No bilking, mark-ups, middle-men or nonsense. Needed good fast, honest, reliable, fairly-priced service, and got it with ActionDrain. Now for something else I need a plumber plumber, but his focus is on drains.... Oh well. We had an sever drain clog ... of course it was on Saturday so we knew we'd paying serious bucks to get someone out to fix it. Called two other places first and then (thankfully) called Action Drain. He said it would take about two hours to get to us in Cottage Grove and he arrived earlier than we expected ... Yay! He was incredibly polite and yet very professional at the same time. Asked a couple questions and got right to work. Took him a shade over an hour and I can tell you that man never stopped working ... talk about getting my money's worth :-) When he gave us our bill we were amazed as it was much less than we had expected. I've now saved his card and will never call anyone else if I ever have a drain problem again. His name is 'Calvin' and he's well worth the call. I called Ryan after reading a few of the reviews below. I made an appointment and he showed up the next day. My waste line was clogged with roots and I had a toilet that had chronic clogging issues even when the other toilet and drains had no issue. I was never able to fix it by plunging. I had already dug up the cleanout and he snaked it a few times, pulling lots of roots out. After clearing the waste line he stuck a snake down the problematic toilet and did some plunging which eventually cleared that toilet. He recommended using MD toilet paper in the future as it is the best mix of soft and actually breaking down so it doesn't clog as easily. His prices were very reasonable and less than half of what it cost to have Rotorooter do it last year ($200!! for rotorooter). I will absolutely call him again if I have any future problems and recommend him to anyone else in need. read more

I always like it when I can confidently recommend a company based on their honesty, integrity and quality of work. We've been in our home for over 40 years and the drains to the street were clogged with roofing grit and mud. Calvin was upfront about possible worst case scenarios (tree roots, collapsed pipes) so we wouldn't be caught off guard, but by running water down the down spouts with the garden hose in conjunction with him using his electric snake from the street end of the drain pipes, he was able to clear all three of our lines in quick order. He charged a very reasonable amount for his expertise. He showed up when he said he would and called ahead when he was on his way. In the past 2.5 years Calvin Jones , owner/operator of Action Drain, has twice provided us with prompt, reliable, effective and personable services in unplugging our badly clogged kitchen sink plumbing. Both times required Calvin to access the piping from the roof vent, the first time requiring 70 feet of snaking and the second time, just yesterday, requiring 64 ft of snaking. The first time actually required that Kevin remove the cable to fabricate an extension of its length in order to successfully reach the clogged site. He is determined to get the job done successfully! Calvin has also provided us again with helpful advice on what food products to NOT put down our garbage disposal! After several days of an overflow drain being a problem, I looked online for recommended plumbers as I'd have some issues with one before. Decided to call Action Drain and was surprised when someone answered the phone right away. Even though he was booked for that day, Calvin made time to come out and clear the clogged drain. Unfortunately, it turns out the drain had a break in the line which we found out when Calvin came back and used his camera equipment to find the crack. I wasn't sure who to call with our problem, which was getting worse as time went on ... I found Calvin/Action Drain on Yelp, Thank heavens!!! We noticed first off a backup in the shower and it continued to get worse! Sink, toilet, and more!!! So awful! Calvin answered his phone on the first call!! Bless his heart! He came over and tried to help, this was not an easy task as our plumbing is messed up under the house, it's from back in the '60s, cast iron, with no cleanout drain on this section, 90-degree angles also on this line. After waiting three days on Roto-Rooter to show up I finally called ACTION DRAIN after reading some of these reviews about Ryan. I called him on Monday afternoon and he said he could arrive the next morning at 0930. He called just before he got here (right on time) and he went right to work on unstopping my downspout drains. He was friendly, articulate, and had the equipment to do the work. In no time he had my drains cleared and he only charged me $80. I got a recommendation to call Calvin after the plumber that we called and paid for didn't fix our problem with our kitchen sink. Action Drain was easy to work with, punctual, and got the job done. Our garbage disposal was clogged and both sinks were backed up with water. We called around and got some quotes but everyone we talked to wanted to charge us a ridiculous amount of money. We called Action Drain and got a really reasonable quote, even factoring the extra charge for the weekend. Our toilet was clogging to the point where it couldn't be used. Wednesday, I called Action Drain and spoke to Calvin; he offered to come out later that day. And this was the day before Thanksgiving! We have used this company multiple times over the years from sink, kitchen drain, shower. Small clogs that we couldn't resolve and large things that went way out from the house. He is thorough, good quality, fair, also gets there quickly. Today he resolved a clog in the kitchen sink, went out 40', cleaned up thoroughly, and helped us locate a leak that needed repairing. I called action drain after struggling to find somebody to come and clear my main line. Calvin was there within a few hours and had it cleared in no time. He found roots because of all the trees in my yard, and was able to cut them out.
