Hubby and I went to Pete's due to their support for those losing food benefits. Hubby ordered the oyster dinner while I ordered chicken fingers. Hubby enjoyed the oysters a lot. Almost ate the entire basket of fries, too. The fries were top notch. My chicken fingers were overly greasy with way too much celery(?) salt not evenly coating the pieces. Got the elk burger, the chilli dog, sprite, as well as the poutine and it was all Amaizing I am pregnant and did unfortunately have to order the elk burger well done :( (I don't like well done meat I like my meat walking) but even with that little doozy it was Amaizing!!! We were coming back from a road trip to SoCal for the holidays back to Albany and decided to stop by the lady that helped us was super sweet and really good at her job! Stumbled across this for lunch on a road trip to Coos Bay. We loved it so much we timed our return specifically around having lunch here on the return trip. The shakes are awesome, the fries are awesome, the burgers and sandwiches are awesome. The poutine fries were awesome. I would trust their sea food offerings if I ate there again (didn't try it this time, but their overall quality gives me confidence). This place is a gem! We stumbled on this restaurant driving back home from Eugene. We didn't want typical fast food. This gave us exactly what we were looking for - something we could drive in and get that was fresh. I got the chicken sandwich and tater tots with their goop sauce (basically a fry sauce). It was so good. My husband and daughter got the cheeseburger and fries which they enjoyed and the cherry on top was a milkshake - it was perfectly thick and smooth. Dry burger buns. The only flavor to burgers, fries and onion rings was old grease. the fries were all stuck together and no salt. Onion rings came from the bottom of the bag. Bits and pieces tasting like used old grease. The paper in the basket was dripping, literally dripping. For around $40. with tip. Absolutely ridiculous! the order was taken and we were asked to pay. no problem. however, because of credit card payment and no cash on us for tip, had to tip upfront. Pulled in and poof, a young girl at my window and says can I take your order. Great service but dam let me shut my truck off. I said I need a few minutes to look at menu. It's an old fashioned basic menu. I ordered a burger without the bun, I asked for lettuce wrapped. I don't think they get the wrapped part of that. The burger was dry and luckily I asked for Mayo. I had searched in Best Shakes in Roseburg. Pete's came up. I read reviews from the best to the worst. Wondered what is wrong with people who like to complain. Amazing. My own experience was well positive! Order a burger, fries and a root beet shake, and my wife the fish sandwich. Service was quick and friendly. the drive-in features car service, but, we chose to use the picnic tables that are available. Food came out quickly, the order was right, and the waitstaff were friendly and helpful (amazing when you consider the amount of walking they must do each day) Most important food was great! I go here often and for past 20 years, but my last time was quite disappointing. The shrimp was horrible and I can't explain it. I am going back to try the BBQ they just started serving. Biggest complaint is they're too busy. Crew handles it well, but people were unhappy they couldn't park. Made worse, the day I was there, by a woman who took up two car-hop spaces and met someone else who took up two spaces, then they ate at the tables. Haven't eaten here in a long long time and was pleasantly surprised that it really hadn't changed much. Big Top burger basket was very good. Service was excellent. Fast and friendly. I have never over the years ordered anything but a burger basket and been doing that for 50 years. So I can't tell you if the other food is very good but I love the burgers and fries. Pete's has been closed for a while since a car drove right into the building. It reopened two days ago after some serious repair work. It was a total zoo when we got there. I haven't seen it that busy since I was in high school a very long time ago. I was sure we would be there for a long time before we got service and food. I was really surprised how fast the service was and it was friendly in spite of them being absolutely hammered with customers. Great service and the food was great. Burgers were OK. The portions were pretty small for the price. Son had chicken strips that were so over cooked and dry he would not eat them. OK, Pete's gets 2 stars because I can't give 2.5. Stopped in at the suggestion of a coworker with the wife and kids on our way home from Wildlife Safari. It's a little off the beaten path, but not too far or too hard to find. For the previous reviewer who compared Pete's to In-N-Out, have you ever EATEN at an In-N-Out?!? Pete's does not come close. I had the double cheeseburger basket and the wife had the cheeseburger basket. Kids split a hot dog. There is carside service and we opted to sit a a table in front of our vehicle. Waitress took our order and brought the food, no problem. Wife asked for a second side of "goop" (their name for fry sauce) as a fly had decided to commit suicide in hers. The waitress literally walked past our table 6 times, each time mentioning that she needed to remember the goop, before she finally brought it...after we had already finished eating. Another bummer was the lack of a restroom at Pete's, resulting in a hike over to the KFC to take a leak and wash my hands. On the plus side I did get to see the worlds thinnest bathroom door. (See photo) The burgers were OK. Fresh toppings but obviously a frozen patty. Fries were terrible! Greasy, over-browned potato wedges that only reminded me of "carnival fries". Our tab for 2 burger baskets and a kids hot dog came to over $17, which we thought was a little steep for average road food. If given the option again, I would not revisit Pete's, and therefore I can not recommend Pete's Drive-In. read more

We have eaten here once before and would have given it a 4 star review last time. As for today's meal, the coleslaw was flavorless, as was the tarter sauce (no, I have not had Co-vid). I was so excited to come back here after it reopened! I brought my one year old and decided to sit at the tables in the middle so she wouldn't have to eat in her car seat. I even have a handy clip-on high chair that works great for eating at picnic tables. Sat down and immediately wrote an email which was sent at 12:46. About 15 minutes went by and I got the feeling that they didn't do table service so I went up to the window to order. No line at the window. Another 5 minutes or so and I finally got acknowledged. I placed an order for a bacon cheeseburger basket and a kids cone, to be delivered after we were done with lunch. My total was $10.70. I paid and told the gal at the counter we'd be sitting in the back. We took our seats and I spent the next 25 minutes trying to entertain my daughter while she kept asking for food. When our food finally arrived at 1:34, it was delivered without napkins or a drink. The hand-cut fried were great but the burger wasn't anything special. It was very thin and I had to center everything on the bun. Another ten minutes went by and I finally got the waitress's attention again. It wasn't until 1:50 that she finally delivered the napkins and drink, at which point we were ready to go. I actually watched two separate vehicles arrive after us, then order, eat, and leave before us. I didn't complain, and they were nice enough to upgrade my fries to a large and offer us a second cone for free for the wait, we just needed to go back to the window to get the cones when we were ready for them. Unfortunately, I didn't need a large fry as it was just my 1 year old and I, and by the time we finished eating I no longer had time to get ice cream. With no way to leave our stuff at the table and go back around to the window to get the ice cream or even a refund on it, I decided we should just leave. I left my drink on the table because my hands were too full to carry it, planning to go back to get it. By the time I had my daughter in her car seat, the table was already cleared. I had about two sips of that drink. It's surprising how quickly they cleared the table when service was almost non-existent. I'm pretty disappointed in the whole experience. I really had my hopes up for a sweet lunch date with my little one. I had a much better burger with much better service in much better atmosphere at Brix two weeks ago for about $1.30 more. Overall, here's my rating: Convenience: 1 star Service: 2 stars (they at least tried to correct it) Food: 3 stars (if only for the hand cut fries) Ambience: 1 star Price: 2 stars (might have been 4 if I had received my whole order) Not recommended for kids. I ordered my usual broasted chicken and asked for a wing and a breast. When our order arrived, I had a drumstick and a thigh that was literally skin over bone (no meat on the thigh). The girl said, "sorry about not being able to give you the chicken parts you ordered, we have to serve you whatever comes out of the broasted!" What??? I said, then why didn't you come out and tell me that prior to choosing what I was having for lunch???? All we got was a "sorry about that!" We definitely won't be back! read more

I ordered the barbecue beef sandwich, fries and a small shake for $10.25 I'm a sucker for small beloved greasy spoons with good food. Unfortunately this is not one of those places. Knowing full well that the barbecue beef will be probably microwaved from frozen - I took my chances anyway. And the sandwich tasted every bit of what I expected (average at best). The french fries are advertised as "ho-made." And they look homemade... but they cut them and blanch them a day (or 2) before they give them a final cook. My guess is they probably freeze them in between cook cycles as well. How can I say this? I can say this because the only way you can take fresh potatoes and make them tasteless, starchy and limp - is to cook them partially and then let them sit and then cook them partially again with a dirty fryer. And if you throw them in the freezer in between cooking times - you're sure to create a tasteless product. The shake was about 8 ounces and frozen solid. I'm still guessing but it sure looks like it was pre-poured (maybe even days ago) and frozen in the cup - then thawed and served. Again you might ask how do I know this? I know this because there was a huge round deep lump of ice cream in the center of the cup. Clearly it had not been poured or mixed in quite sometime. The moral of the story? Pete's is great at making "food fast" but not so good at making "fast food good." The best part of the meal was the cute waitress. read more

Good, friendly and fast service. I had the big top burger basket with a cherry coke. The burger patty is thin yet delicious. However, the burger comes with just a small amount of house sauce, goop, so the burger is quite dry. I added some of the goop that came with my fries and it was perfect. My son is 6 and ordered the footlong hot dog. The dog itself was tasty and the bun was toasted so it was very yummy for a kid's lunch!
