I loved this store because I could always find what I was looking for. I was there on May 19th for leg quarters. They were marked as wings which were $2.99 but the leg quarters were only $.99 per pound. I went to customer service and was told that i had just picked up the wrong package. I tried to explain that the legs were priced as wings but they couldn't understand the difference. I went back to the chicken area and luckily a man walked by and i asked if he was a manager and he said yes. He immediately got a man from the meat dpt to change all the miss priced chicken. I really like this location in Matteson IL. It's huge and have so many goodies from fresh natural juices to fresh cut fruit and hot food bars. The fresh popcorn is bomb too!! I was so happy when Pete's came to matteson. They had the freshest fruits and vegetables around . I could get things there I couldn't find any where else. Because of some surgeries it had been a few months. I went back today and what a disappointment! The vegetables are nothing like they were . I needed eggplant and collards . The egg plant was old and pitted, the collards were worse! Many Of the leaves were Brown or full of holes. And prices have gone up on several things . Today was my first time shopping at Pete's Fresh Market in Matteson, Illinois. First, I was overwhelmed (in a good way) with the salad bar and food bar selections. Wonderful. The shopping experience was great - the store was well laid out, very clean, had reasonable prices, and had good selections. I really enjoyed my shopping experience until it came to the checkout. I asked the cashier two questions as this was my first time at the store. How dare I interrupt her flow. She was very rude, angry, and short-tempered. Petes is always a good idea! I love the way it smells; so fresh, clean and healthy. The produce section is so inviting and the juice bar has samples most of the time. If there are no samples, they are more than happy to get one for you. The hot bar is the BIGGEST I have seen anywhere. So many selections, truly something for everyone. Pete's opened their doors in Matteson, IL on February 3rd and I'm here 4 days later. If you want a exciting culinary experience then this place is for you! They have everything from fresh produce, fresh deli meats, fresh pastries and every aspect of this store is over the top! The selection of meats to gourmet cheeses, specialty items and frozen desserts is just wonderfully outrageous. I sampled a few of there prepared items and they didn't disappoint. The fried fish and the egg rolls were seasoned to perfection and you could taste the love from the chef. Customer service at 8:30 am in the morning was phenomenal! I dropped my 76 year old sister off at the door and an employee (Richard Jackson) helped her out of the car! Everything was organized and all the lines were opened. Pete's is like a Food Amusement Park !!! There's so much going on in this store it could be overwhelming, but it's not for me. The fresh fruits and vegetables are well tended , if you have a question there's staff all around to assist. The Meat department is ginormous, oh my, whose farm is supplying this grocery store!!!! The cheese department has to contain as much cheese as Wisconsin. Pete has cornered the Market on Fresh for real!!!!! The hotbar food items are delicious and very convenient. Really like these Pete's that are coming to our southwest suburbs. Pete's is a big-box grocery store and they have a neat little wrinkle that pays off. Whatever neighborhood they build in, they really tailor their offerings to the surrounding nationalities and neighborhoods ... and this is in addition to carrying most of the regular stuff. Out here in Matteson the store carries all the usual items, and also has a huge selection of meats, such as chicken - wings, feet, necks, backs, and all the other parts - and you can get them still raw but seasoned with BBQ, Smoked, Jerk and a number of other ways. The same goes for their pork offerings ... feet, ears, snouts, etc. This was a fun part of the experience. Pete's also has a very large selection of fresh fruit and vegetables (FFV), and this is the section you hit as you walk in the front door. You can see they spend a lot of time keeping the area stocked and clean, a very nice experience. The whole store had a number of employees blocking and fronting the shelves ... it shows they care about what they do and they have people keeping everything shipshape. I will never waste my money at that store again. 6 days ago I purchased Gala apples, Collard greens and mandarins. 2 days after, had to throw out the apples because they had turned mushy, I had to throw away most of the mandarins, and today I took out the collards from the back of the fridge and they had turned yellow and black with mold. Last week I visited Pete's and bought 1 cheddar cheese popcorn and 1 carmel popcorn. They were 6.00 for the 2. Today I made the same purchase and the price increased by one dollar. So, I went to buy my usual products and everything have increased by 50 cents to one over a dollar. At their store on 47th street one avacodo is a buck, but at the Matteson store one avacodo is 2.50 cents. The store is beautiful and inticing. WATCH THEIR PRICES. I visited the Juice Bar at the Matteson location today and waited for it to open. The hours displayed were from 8-4p. There was an employee present prior to opening and at 8a, the very same employee went to the back area of the juice bar. I waited approximately 10 minutes after 8a while 3 other patrons were waiting as well, prompting one patron to ask for help to the person in the back room. Used to be 5 stars because they were always stocked and food was fresh but the past few months I've noticed that the quality of produce and meat isn't that good and they sell items way past the expiration date. I just noticed today that I bought cookies yesterday that expired 10 days ago. Not the first time this happened. They've also been out of a few items for a few weeks now going on a month, so I'm hoping it has something to do with imports that will return soon. Some of the cashiers are kind of rude but I'm willing to overlook it. I also wish they had organic options for their beef. Please make sure you check the expiration date on items. This particular Pete's store has items on the shelf all the time that are past the expiration date. In the month of November of 2022, I picked up a box of cookies and the expiration date was August of 2022. I had a very concerning experience, with one of the employees by the name of Irene, in the liquor section. I approached the counter asking to purchase a bottle of liquor. I go on to ask if I could pay for the rest of my items. She rudely states "you can pay for it if it's 10 items or less, or else you have to go back to the front." I counted the items, I had 13. There was no line, and no other customers in the immediate area. Still she refused to check me out. I understand the 10 items or less policy, however, with it not being busy AT ALL, she was literally standing there, staring off into space before I approached. The fact I only had 3 items over the limit, she could have very well checked me out as a courtesy, and to show appreciation for being a valued customer. She goes on to say she'll check me out for the bottle of alcohol, but nothing else. Her attitude, lack of customer service and delivery were unacceptable. Being mean and nasty for no reason is appalling and shouldn't represent your customer service platform. read more

Was a Pete's for the grand opening at 6:45am which it was advertised they where to open at 7am. Well 7am came and with several folks waiting to get in an employee came to the door and said they where going to open at 9am. He didn't apologize for the inconvenience.
