We have ordered hot dogs from Chubbs many times after a late night of extracurricular activities, and tonight was no different. The wife had us walk a half mile in the opposite direction just to fill the aching void in her tummy. As we got closer to the destination, I got a strong whiff of Chubbs floating past my nostrils. Usually two guys work at this bright yellow food truck. The one tonight was chatty, but all business and ready to serve. The flat grill had golden brown onions cooking up and looked great. The "Erection Selection" menu blended in perfectly with the Key West attitude. Ordered the Full Chubb which was a quarter pound all beef hot dog with grilled onions and peppers. Quick ordering as the line of customers kept growing. The hot dog was tender but the sweet onions and a dab of mustard really made it stand out. We came back two hours later and ordered another Full Chubb. For those non-hot dog enthusiasts, Chubbs offers hamburgers too. Taste, customer service and convenience are very important aspects in the food industry, although the price at $12.00 for one hot dog is teetering on greed, even in the Key West environment. An example would be that we ordered an entire large pepperoni pizza at Z's Pizzeria tonight for $20.00 vs one semi loaded hot dog at Chubbs for $12.00, so this has become a serious dilemma that needs to be adjusted.
