The TV is way too loud and obnoxious. The $10 minimum or credit and debit cards make it impractical for lunch unless you're buying for more than one, or you can eat five pieces of pizza. My family and I are very happy to have found Pete's Pizza and the owner, George. His staff and himself were a pleasure to talk to, extremely personable and happy people. George is originally from Brooklyn and the great woman taking out orders and making the sandwiches (sorry I didn't get a name) is from Jersey. We are from Philly ourselves and we know good pizza. It has been very... difficult to find good pie in Florida, but Pete's has what it takes. BTW, we were tipped off from Portnoy's review, he's a good judge of pie and we share the same tastes in pizza. The crust is perfect and the sauce is as good as anything from the NE, good tang, not sweet, spot on. My daughter ordered an Italian hoagie, done perfect. She was disappointed because she forgot to order the hots but now she knows for next time. In all, 5 stars. Thank you George for the great food and the great conversation. My husband and I really enjoy the pizza here. For me, it is what I have been looking for since moving here in 1980. It is as close to the pizza I remember from my childhood in NYC as I have found. The sauce has good flavor, the crust on the bottom has a slight crunch. The cheese is yummy. You can fold the slice and see the slight bit of oil drip off and this is what pizza should be like. The owner is originally from NY and this probably contributes to the quality of his pizza. Unfortunately, when I have had delivery, the crust isn't as crispy but that is to be expected of any pizza delivery so that is why we prefer to dine in. The ONLY reason this is not 5 stars is because the restaurant could be a little cleaner looking. read more

I give 4 stars mainly bc this is the closest thing to New York style pizza around in Daytona. The minus one star is the fact that they touched the pizza without gloves during a global pandemic, which made my stomach unsettled. Nonetheless, great prices for pizza that hits the spot. read more

Pete's Pizza should be a five star pizzeria. The owners are from NY, have been making pizzas for 50 years or so, but it's just not consistent. When you get a good pie, they are hard to beat. Unfortunately, it's hit or miss with them. I've been coming to them for pizzas since I found out about them around 1992 or so, so this review comes from many visits. It shouldn't matter who's cooking, the ingredients are the same and they are cooked the way the owner taught them how. I've actually never had a poorly cooked pie from them, it's the taste, which is everything. I've tried to figure out what the deal is when it's an off night, but everything always looks like it always does with the herbs/spices sprinkled on top. AWFUL! The delivery driver was very nice and pleasant and thanked me for the generous tip. (I paid online and included a tip) Other than him I will never order from this place again. I ordered online which I thought was super convenient. After my "estimated delivery time" came and went I called to confirm they received me order. The man who answered the phone sounded as if I was disturbing him, perhaps they were busy but be grateful for business- He said they didn't get the order and Im "calling the wrong place" I said well "my card was charged $30.03 and THIS is the phone number associated with that charge" He gave the phone to another man who I have to repeat myself and he asked what I ordered. I told him wings and baked ziti, he told me they dont have it AND asked me if "I understood the wings had bones in them?" Obviously I placed the order online and called only to confirm that delivery was on its way not to be taken for an idiot. Then he finally found the order and told the first guy who answered the phone "its right here" and told me the delivery was on its way. A few mins later the nice delivery man was at my door and HE was the only thing good about my experience. So, being from New York its really difficult to find actual "New York Style" pizza. The best part, the owner is from New York and he owned a pizza shop there. Shall I say, authentico? My favorite is the Buffalo Chicken pizza- its loaded with chicken, cheese, hot sauce, and creamy bleu cheese dressing (AMAZING). The salads are big and they are generous with the toppings as well. All of the sandwiches that I have tried are delicious and the bread is made fresh daily. Plus, if the food isn't enough to fill you up and you are looking for a sweet treat, you must try the Zeppoli. They are also made fresh everyday. They stick them in the oven to reheat them and then toss them with powdered sugar. The overall atmosphere is great, the employees are friendly, and if you get your ordered delivered, it will arrive at its destination hot and yummy. read more

If you are looking for a decent pie in Daytona this is the place. It has a creepy fluorescent light flicker atmosphere just like the best pizza joints in NJ. (translation: get carry out and enjoy). I like the cheese pizza, maybe with some mushrooms. It's a clean pizza flavor. If you want something unusual go for the buffalo chicken, it's spicy and bleu cheesy. Sauce and cheese is good. But the crust is not. It gets doughy and thick. Unlike the nyc style pizzas where the crust very light and airy.

I wanted to try Pete's based on all of the positive Yelp reviews. I had an easy time ordering over the phone. I ordered a pizza with sausage, pepperoni, onions, and peppers and a cannoli. My order was ready when I arrived and a few customers were seated at the few tables. The pizza was okay. I think that my expectations were set very high due to the Yelp reviews. I was expecting the pizza to knock my socks off but it didn't. The cannoli was delicious. But it tasted like other cannolis that I've had before. My husband loved the crust! read more
