Easy place for a group to go and watch a game or chill out post race. Plenty of seats and TVs, indoor and outdoor seating. Houligan's is a sports bar that sounds Irish but doesn't really have many Irish dishes or beers. I didn't find thing like Shepherd's Pie on the menu. No Smithwicks or Harp on tap. They do carry some offerings from local breweries though. I would classify them as chain sports bar. Service was good and the restaurant was clean. Our group of 12 was seated quickly on a Wednesday night. Fried Buffalo Cauliflower - These came out looking like chicken nuggets but inside they were cauliflower with some buffalo flair. Not bad. Loaded Potato Skins - This appetizer has six loaded skins and they were full of cheese, mound covered with bacon and a touch of green onion. The outside of the potato was crisp. This dish had no surprises, it was as you would hope loaded skins would be. Wally Wings & Fries - My order was the 10 wings and fries plate. Wally Wings are their bone-in grilled wings. They were grilled well and decent sized, but didn't have any special flavor. For plain grilled wings I usually hope for some secret season or smokiness but this wing didn't have any that. For sauces I went with sweet chili and hot garlic. I like sweet chili better which is like an asian sweet and sour. The hot garlic was a little off. It didn't have enough buffalo flavor and then the garlic was there but didn't stand out. I wouldn't recommend the hot garlic dipping sauce. As for the wings overall they are fine if you are craving wings, but there are places in the city that do it better. Houligan's is right by the Daytona Speedway and the Daytona Airport so it is in an easy access area.

After picking up my son at DAB we decided to grab a bite to eat before heading back home. We are familiar with Houligan's but have never eaten at this location, the restaurant was fairly busy at 7:00 PM on this Friday when we arrived but we were able to get seated without a wait which was good being he had traveled all day to get here. Our server arrived and greeted us, it was immediately obvious to all of us the service was going to be outstanding, she gave us the menus and took our drink orders and returned in just a few minutes to take our food order. We decided on the spicy fried shrimp appetizer and substituted ranch dressing for the blue cheese dressing - this was a great appetizer, the shrimp were large, battered, fried crispy and tossed in hot sauce per our request over the mild sauce offered on the menu, this could probably be enough of a meal for one easily. We all decided on our own wings and fries Entrée, all Wally Style, and all flats I think that comes with a one dollar up-charge. Each order comes with ten wings we decided on Cajun, Hot and Medium they were all delicious as were the fries that arrived from the kitchen still warm. We really enjoyed our meals and the service was as exceptional as we expected it would be after getting seated. This is definitely the experience I was hoping it would be and I got to use my last coupon that we received after buy gift cards for the holidays.

I was staying at the Hampton Inn next door and Houligan's was a convenient way to get a beer, some grub, and catch a game. And, I got to do all those things. The place is touristy and huge. There is an outside bar, inside bar, and tables. Plenty of room for a group. Plenty of TVs to watch games. This is a sports bar. Like if you opened an encyclopedia there would be a picture of this place. For those under 30 YELPers, an encyclopedia is like Google in book form and much heavier. The service was great and the bartender knew a few of the guys sitting at the bar which made me think they were regulars. The beer was wet, I got an amber Ale which was ordinary. I asked about the wings, if they were Buffalo wings, but the bartenders response told me I would be disappointed if I ordered wings. So I ordered the meatloaf, and it was quite average. Not awful, definitely not great, just average. I gobbled it up like it was my last supper.

I am a big fan of this location and my boyfriend and I keep it in our rotation when we go out. I love the vibe of this place it's just chill and you sit in cute little booths and there's tvs in every booth. Waitress was nice enough and we got our usual. I got a chicken quesadilla and he got this chicken with pineapple on it. It was Monday so it was buy 6 wings get 6 free so we got hot wings and let me say their wings are some of the best I've had. Their ranch dressing also is great so that just adds to the wings too. Cannot wait to go back

Turkey (or reuben)

Several of us had lunch here pre "Ian". Had not eaten at one in literally years. Everything was as I remembered, tasty! We had 1 reuben, 1 turkey, 1 chicken philly and one beef philly (me). Three with coleslaw and one with potato salad. He got the short end of the stick, we all loved the coleslaw, he said the coleslaw tasted like from the store. Also no French fries or chips come with the sandwiches (boooo) hence the 4 stars. The Phillies were both the bomb!

While on a business trip we were looking for something simple for lunch. Houligan's was the perfect choice. A nice diverse menu with salads, sandwiches, pasta's and steaks. I wish I lived closer as I'll bet this place is great on game day. Each booth has its own TV and there were more than I could count on the walls broadcasting all the sports channels. They also had a nice outdoor area with a bar and more TV's. The service was fabulous and the food was very good. If I'm back in the area I will certainly be back.

Nashville hot chicken sandwich

All I can say is ask for Gerry, great service! Great restaurant located by the Daytona speedway. We were in Daytona for a rock festival and came here 3 days in a row for lunch. Gerry remembered our drinks and what we ordered each day and was an amazing and attentive server. Food is excellent. I had the chicken breast with bbq sauce and bacon and mashed potatoes. Good portion sizes. My friends had the Buffalo shrimp and Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Open daily 11am to 10pm except Sunday it closes at 9pm. Plenty of partying in the lot around the restaurant.

I asked to have them made extra crispy before getting tossed into the sauce and that's exactly what I got. The sauce was spicy and flavorful, not so hot that you can't taste the "Zingers" at all. The entire staff was friendly. Great service from my server! The hostess opened the door for a disabled person entering before me and held it open for me as well. The manager opened the door for me as I was leaving and thanked me for coming. Awesome dining experience all around! We waited about 5 minutes after being given menus before a "server" came over. This man seemed to think we were there for entertainment. Everything that came out of his mouth was loud and somewhat irritating. He wouldn't stop with the poor humor and refused it seemed to just act professionally. Placing our order was uncomfortable. We ordered a burger and salad for my wife and 12 wings for myself. When ordering, the server kept saying "AND" after we would state what we wanted. He was trying to push us to order more? He continued to a point that we almost got up and walked out. What he failed to realize was that we were out for a simple and quiet late afternoon meal, not a Gong Show audition by him. Almost 35 minutes passed. Yes, 35 minutes. The server stopped by and believe it or not, grabbed the table side ordering device and had to check to see if HE actually put in the order. He left and returned about 5 minutes later with the order. The wings were inedible. The first thing I noticed is they were dried out. Not even warm on the outside yet somewhat steamy on the inside. The sauce was dried out on most of them. And then came the taste test. Have you ever eaten wings that were old? The wings were so salty I almost spit them out. I held back due to being in a public area. The worst. Salt beyond understanding. I tried a second and the same thing. I had my wife try part of another and she gagged. My wife's burger was tasteless. It fell apart, all 1/4 inch thickness. Nothing better than a low end Walmart frozen patty. When I attempted to get the server to raise the issue, he was too busy socializing and cracking jokes with a table a few feet away. He and another server were telling all sorts of stories with people at the table. It took us around 7 minutes to finally flag down a bus boy to go get his attention. When the server came over, he addressed me initially as though I was making a mistake, almost questioning my concern. He asked to replace the wings and I said no. What was served was awful. The items weren't prepared with the wrong sauce or undercooked, these were "off". It took the server over 10 more minutes to remove the item from our bill. As we were moving out of the booth to leave, the manager came over and couldn't care any less. She made a non-serious gesture by asking if there was something she could order for us, AS WE WERE LEAVING. She demonstrated no concern, no apology, no empathy etc. She never came over to even ask for our input from the original issue. She didn't care, plain and simple. She dismissed us as though she was wasting her time even talking to us. I have a gift card balance of around $14 that will forever go unspent. I'm not sure what happened to this place but it's a complete mess when it comes to food and professionaiism.

Daytona Beach was our final stop on the GM Tailgate Tour,…read moreso after a long day our group got together and met here for our final dinner. Large place right on the beach, it has the beach bar vibes for sure. Our server was friendly, very good on recommendations, + she was very attentive to the tables needs. The good was good, and came out hot. Had the Philly Cheesesteak and it was very good. Overall it was mostly positive, with very few complaints from our party. Only thing keeping this from a 5 star establishment was price point. Yes, I get it, place is right on the beach, and that vibe is part of the experience.
