Pete's is a breakfast and lunch staple in Downtown Knoxville. And you can tell the minute you walk in because it's always buzzing. It's a very homey and diner like atmosphere. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu! The service is always phenomenal, the waitresses are always so sweet to me and my family.

Food was good - classic breakfast, warm, fast. Service was good! Kept checking in on us and making sure we were all set. Ambiance is just a classic, feel-good place that anyone should be experience when in Knoxville! So homey.

Service and ambience were quite pleasing. We met our granddaughter there while she had a break in her schedule at nearby UT. We all got the breakfast special, Eggs Benedict. Was not the best EB I've had, not by a long shot. The yolks of the eggs were overcooked and I don't know what the yellow stuff on top was but it wasn't hollandaise sauce. This was my first visit so I won't judge them by just one dish. Other dishes I saw carried by looked pretty tasty. I'll give them another shot next time I'm in Knoxville.

Nice, clean diner. Busy but didn't feel rushed. Server kept the coffee flowing. Food was typical fare. Omelette was fine but nothing special. I'd come back again to try other items on the menu

Busy Southern Diner, where they serve you with a smile. We visited on Game Day! Homecoming! Despite the crowds, we were seated pretty quickly and served soon after. The food was hot, and tasty! Holly was our server, and she never got rattled, despite the pace! Would definitely come again!

Ok, I'm a big breakfast guy. I've heard about Pete's. Just week days, parking challenges, real simple menu, yada, yada, yada. PLEASE. These are small challenges that are worth overcoming for a one of a kind, home made, outstanding service, just great mom and pop food. Tons of local history plastered on the walls, but once you order and the plate hits the table, nothing else will take your attention from what's in front of you. The servers really do work as a team, focused on guests, no matter your section. Overcome the challenges, find the parking, spend the time for a great breakfast, for your soul.

We pulled into the parking lot, and I could hear my compadre, RIP, say to me, ' Si está ocupado, va a ser bueno." If its busy, its going to be good. The parking lot was full and the inside of the restaurant was busy. We walked in and our Mom who was a teenager during the 50's loved the decor and signage and my brother immediately gravitated towards the pinball machines. We sat down at a booth. The booths are a little tight if you're tall and have had a couple of cheeseburgers over the years. The good news is that the table is moveable Our server Finch was delightful. By the way, it was her Birthday on the day we were there and even though she was working on her Birthday, she was still having a lot of fun. The regular menu is HUGE. I'm not talking Cheesecake Factory HUGE, I'm talking about triple that...... There's about 50 different burgers and I'm probably missing some. There's burger with a fried bologna slice and american cheese There's a burger with Military Chow The menu is clear to understand but there's an overwhelming amount of choices. I didn't see the vegan menu in the regular menu so I politely asked Finch for the vegan menu, and she skipped back to me with it. Wow - A lot of choices as well. Hot Rod's uses Beyond Meat for some of their burgers but they also custom craft their veggie burgers. The vegan cheese on my burger was most likely Follow Your Heart or Violife, but it was properly melted. The Beyond Burger was a frozen slab without any seasoning but cooked through. I would have preferred some seasoning but hey - I'm not going to knock it. The portion of fries is massive. The vegan ranch is Follow Your Heart and was a nice dipping sauce for the fries. My brother had a buffalo chicken sandwich and my mom had the reuben. We all shared the vegan banana split. Hot Rod 50's Diner as stated by another Yelp reviewer may be the best diner in the United States.

I liked the sauce on the pork and the sunny side up egg brought a good amount of yolk into the dish. Everything mixed well with the sesame flavored cucumbers and jalapeños. The rice was pretty plain but paired with everything else it was fine. I think I'll try one of the salads or power bowls next time, as they come highly recommended! I also had a bite of the smoked salmon from the power bowl and a bite of the chicken piccata. I normally don't like chicken piccata but the lemon and caper flavor did not overpower and the angel hair pasta was very soft. A bit on the pricier side for a lunch but I enjoyed what I had at Cazzy's. I hear both locations are very consistent as well.

I felt like the food was a very strong 4 but the service was a 10 which is why we gave them 5 stars. Chris was our server. He explained the specials, the new items, gave us very honest and open feedback about choices when we asked for more information. He took a sincere concern for the food allergies we have and understood how cross contamination occurs. He wanted us to be safe. I LOVE that when we told us about dessert options he mentioned one had alcohol but that it was "cooked out " in the sauce. I'm 9 years sober so it's imperative that I know when there's alcohol in or cooked out of a dessert. Not enough serving staff do this. They had just sat a whole bunch of tables so Chris told us right away they were backed up in the kitchen. He gave us a timeline and let us know if we knew what we wanted he'd get our order in immediately to hopefully help with the time. We did that. Food came out much quicker than expected and he kept communicating with us. Food looked good but unfortunately they brought out the wrong food for me. I ordered fish and chips and got chicken tenders. Chris didn't bring it out to us but immediately when we found out he expedited a new order. It was out in less than 5 minutes and was perfect, even with the no seasoning and extra crispy fries. My husband had the bison burger. He said it was a bit bland and a bit overcooked but otherwise good. He really enjoyed the sweet potato fries with it. There was a nice amount of food left over from my dinner and it was the perfect amount for my husband. Chris welcomed us to come back and see him so we could have someone to rely on who knows our food allergies. He encouraged us to become regulars of his. His communicating skills were excellent. So even when we had a couple problems it was easy to smooth it over because he cared so much. We will definitely be back in his section and try something new. Thanks Chris for an excellent dinner experience.

We were greeted right away and were able to take a table. Small dining area, with very limited seating. Nice warm cozy vibe including Bob Ross on the tv. The food came out quickly. Hot and fresh. I got the Snoring Bear Breakfast. I chose the Cajun seasoning for the tilapia and it was a lil bland. I probably could have asked for more seasoning, so that's on me. The rest was great. Eggs cooked to perfection. My wife chose the fish platter and she said the fish was delicious. The fries were a lil over seasoned and she had to rub some of the fries off. As for the drinks, cans of Coke, Sprite, etc are $1.99 each. A lil pricey but it is clearly marked on the menu. My only complaint is I ordered a water and was charged 50 cents. It's not listed anywhere on the menu, so I was surprised to see it on my bill. Overall, I would probably stop here again for a quick bite if I'm in the area. Nice little place, and the service is great!
