If I could give them a negative 10 that wouldn't even be enough. This place is a circus going on with nobody in charge, all they care about is making the sale and once the dotted line is sign you are on your own. We bought an RV from them at the RV show in Harrisburg back in February. We picked the RV up from Mountville on 3/25/2026. On the way home my husband noticed the RV pulling to the left (he is a professional drag racing driver) and also an issue with the brakes. Immediately called Pete's and they told us to bring it in. In the meantime, in going through the RV, we found the original alignment which did not pass. Why was this not fixed prior to putting it up for sale. Also there was a noise coming from the dashboard which was noted. We were told that we would be charged @229 per labor hour to fix this....WHAT. Asked to speak to the person in charge who told us she would check into this and call us back on Thursday. Well, you guessed it, no call so I called them the next day and was told they think the alignment would be covered but not the brakes or the noise again WHAT! This is a brand new RV with extended warranties and the Jayco warranty. Told us this would take a few weeks for them to get it fixed. In the meantime the loan payments are due and we have no RV. I called Jayco this same day, they were lovely to deal with and they put me on hold while they called Pete's to see what the heck is going on. Jayco told us this would all be covered but that Pete's had to do the paperwork. Called a week after dropping off the RV spoke to customer service and they hadn't even scheduled this to be taken for the alignment. Again called Jayco who noted this and said they would call. Was told on May 7th that the motorhome was ready for pick up. While it was still there they were to also put levelers on which we paid for back in March and also bug screens which were also paid for in March and dewinterize the RV. Went to pick it up today which is almost 2 months since signing on the dotted line, paid for the dewinterizing (213.00) and went on our way. We got home and looked under the RV there is only 2 levelers not the four that we paid for and no screens. Also, the wheel covers are crimped from not being removed properly during the brake/alignment check and 1 of the covers is missing. Called them again and nobody can explain this incompetence. Finally Shane called and admitted that they screwed up and will pick it up tomorrow to get it fixed so that maybe before the Summer is over we can use it. 2 months, 2 payments and more aggrevation than a little bit. If you are thinking about buying an RV from Pete's RV my advice.... Run Forrest Run and never look back you may add some years to your life not dealing with this business. read more

Under no circumstances should you do business with Pete's RV in PA. I would give them a negative stat rating if I could. This is excerpt from one of my last letters to Pete's RV . . . . "My experiences with Pete's RV has left me with trust issues at best. Not purchasing the Blue Ox anti-sway weight distribution hitch we had been discussing since day one, (they tried to make a Frankenstein hitch out of parts from 2 different manufacturers when they ordered one other than the one we had been discussing, and that wouldn' work, so at the very least, I would not be able to sell it if I so chose in the future) and telling me the day I arrived July 26th, 2024 to pick up my RV, that Pete's would not be providing me with the backing up and right turn driving lessons promised, which were discussed multiple times and was a condition of mine to purchase. I could not drive it home because of not having the hitch that would have worked promised, and not having the driving lessons promised so I was not equipped to safely drive it home. I was allowed to sleep in my RV overnight on July 26th. I could not get the A/C to adjust, (I took pictures at different times showing how I raised the A/C temp, but the interior temp just kept lowering), it was as cold inside as outside that evening. I got sick and was up vomiting all night, and necessitated an E.R. visit on Monday, my condition was so bad. I found other things wrong with the RV that night. I called Jeff, I think it was July 30th, who had done a partial walk through with me, (we got side tracked when the incorrect hitch they ordered wouldn't work) and to work with me to schedule an inspection which we did, accommodating the inspector's already full schedule for about 2 weeks out. I got a threatening phone call from Michael Boyd, who had apparently not been informed of the scheduled inspection, demanding that the Whitehawk would be sold to someone else if I didn't mail in the check by end of business that day and email him a tracking number. I told him about the scheduled inspection, which he knew nothing about, and he told me Pete's RV Mountville had already done a presale inspection, and he, with his decades of experience, had never heard of an inspection being done on a new RV. I was correct in assessing the need for a third party inspection as numerous issues (14) were found. I hired her again to do a post inspection. When I came to pick up my RV, September 6th, the tongue jack was not working, nor was the refrigerator. I have parked the RV and have not used it yet as of May 23, 2025, so I do not know if the refrigerator is still working, but the tongue jack makes a horrible screeching noise that does not sound right to me at all. I am afraid to take it on the road, be at an RV park on the last day of my reservation, and have the tongue jack fail. (I missed my event scheduled for early October 2024 because it was not working, nor was the solar panel charging the battery, and I later found out there was a short which the inspector missed because it was pouring out the day of the inspection.) ` I would love for this to be resolved amicably, but will go the litigious route if need be. Then I will seek compensation for the first day (July 26th) I drove out to pick up my RV, the wrong hitch was intentionally ordered, I was not informed BEFORE driving out there I was refused the driving lessons promised, and were a condition of my purchase, and I left without my RV, for my illness in the freezing RV overnight, the hospitalization due to the nausea and vomiting, the stress of manipulative tactics used to try to force me to pay for the RV by sending in the check prior to the inspection/post inspection and my being there to drive off, prepared, with my new RV, then during the 2nd trip out to Pete's RV Mountville, the DAMAGE DONE TO MY TRUCK DURING THE DRIVING LESSON WITH A PETE'S RV STAFF MEMBER ON THEIR PROPERTY DURING THE DRIVING LESSON, the driving lessons I require going forward to feel comfortable backing up safely and making right turns, the costs of the inspection and post inspection, and I will seek for my lawyers fees and all costs associated with litigating this including travel/transportation, hotel accommodations/time and aggravation to be covered as well. If this extends beyond the time I have to register the RV, any penalties or fees will be added on. I'VE TRIED COMMUNICATING WITH THEM TO NO AVAIL. NOTHING HAS BEEN RESOLVED. I'M HIRING AN ATTORNEY TO GET THIS MESS, WHICH THEY REFUSE TO ADDRESS WITH ME, WORKED OUT AND MY TRUCK REPAIRED. GO ANYWHERE ELSE TO PURCHASE YOUR RV. read more

Good buying experience, nice folks, but a year later when I took my Jayco travel trailer in for a safety recall I had them do the annual pa state inspection. I was shocked at the cost, $211 for just the basic inspection, thankfully nothing wrong was found. Other inspection shops I've been to over the years charged around $80. read more

This review pertains primarily to the RV dealer not the RV manufacturer. We purchased a new Jayco camping trailer from Pete's RV in Mountville, PA. We love our Jayco camper, but the customer service from Pete's RV after the sale was frustrating and unacceptable. It's not practical to list all the problems we experienced, but here is an overview. One week after purchasing our camper we made an appointment with the dealer for warranty service for an awning failure. When we delivered the camper we were told the problem would be looked at the next day. After 9 days with no update, we called and were told the problem had been diagnosed and that they had contacted Jayco for warranty approval. 10 days later, after calling numerous times and hearing stories about the complexities of getting warranty approval, we returned and took our camper home while the dealer continued the warranty approval process. 2 days later, the dealer stated that all approvals were received and parts were being ordered. We waited, and nearly 2 months passed with no communication from the dealer. When we finally called, we were told the parts should have already been received but that they would have to check the actual status of the parts and call us back. After several more days with no call back we emailed Jayco directly to complain. Jayco confirmed that parts had been delivered to the dealer nearly 2 months earlier, but they also determined that the dealer had not ordered all the right parts. More parts were supposedly ordered and were expected within 10 days. We waited 18 more days and still no communication from the dealer. Eventually we contacted Jayco directly again in order to seek their help with the dealer. Soon after, we were told the parts had arrived and we returned our camper for the actual repair. Several days after we were told the repair was to be completed, we had once again heard nothing. We called the dealer and learned there would be another delay because the wrong parts had been ordered. Several days later the correct parts arrived and the actual awning repair was completed properly, but the incompetence of the service department in general was terribly frustrating. The total time that passed obtaining this repair was nearly 4 months. Hopefully, we will never need to seek service from this dealer again. read more

I don't even know where to start with this. Pete's RV has been a nightmare! We purchased our new TT at the HBG RV Show. Before we even bought it we brought to the salesperson's attention about the bedroom door frame. It literally looked like someone hung on it. I was assured that Pete's go over the campers with a fine toothed comb. When we went to pick it up sure enough the door frame had not been fixed. We went through the orientation. Our orientation specialist was extremely inexperienced. We also saw that the awning was not working properly. Side note: This is our 6th camper so we know what we are talking about. They said they would check on it but that is the way it was supposed to look, designed that way. After getting the unit home and using it once we had a list of 16 things that needed fixed. Sixteen! So much for the quality of a Jayco TT. We dropped it off for the warranty work. We went to pick it up a few weeks later after being assured it was all ready to go. That day they still had to fix the door frame while we waited. Karen went over the items on our list and tried to charge us over $700 for warranty work. We settled for $36. One of the items was the awning. They said it was fine. Fast forward, coincidently the awning screws were missing after the service department "looked" at it. The next time we put the awning out it flew apart flew and we were unable to bring it back in and then it ripped. We replaced it for a whopping $2400 at our cost. Another item on our list was the electric trailer jack to lift the TT onto the truck hitch. Of course they said they could not find a problem. We took it home and it happened again. Another $130 to replace it at our cost again. They fixed the bathroom faucet. It looked like a 4 year old did it, black caulking smeared all over and it was scratched as well. They did ship a cover to us and we put it on ourselves. Pete's RV ALWAYS has an excuse. Please think twice if you are considering a purchase from Pete's! Check out the Better Business Bureau for an eye full. We sure wish we had read all the reviews. It would have saved a lot of stress and heart ache! read more

HORRIBLE DEALERSHIP.... Theres not enough time in the day to explain all the issues we had with a brand new $60k unit. Took them 2 months to do a 4 hour warranty repair then charged me $270 to inspect tanks that were not draining properly. Do yourself a favor and buy somewhere else, somewhere that actually knows what good customer service is. I'd been a customer at Kline's store long before I bought my trailer from them. We purchased numerous RV supplies, and even ordered an air conditioner hood . While I like having so many RV supplies close by and the knowledge that comes with that, you can find many commonly used items at Walmart for a lot less. So I typically only pick up items that are so specific I can't get them from anyone else. The service and parts departments do follow banker's hours but have extended hours "in season". It's wise to check their hours before you go. Recently while browsing for a newer travel trailer I stopped in just to check out their inventory. I honestly had my eye on one at Camping World and was just waiting till I had enough time to venture to Harrisburg to see it in person. Jerry was the salesperson who was assigned to me at Kline's on the day of my initial visit. I only had a small window of time to browse and never expected to find one that I would consider seriously; especially outside of the cash budget I set for myself. Jerry is very high energy but also very knowledgeable, he did bore me some with the mechanical details (which he tells you about with great enthusiasm) but also didn't take offense when I told him to save it for the husband. He left me alone to browse on my own and wasn't overly pushy. In the days leading to my purchase he was prompt in answering my questions and meeting with us two more times to walk thru. In typical salesman fashion during negotiations he did have a quick comeback for every statement to try to justify coming down very little in price. We were the doc fee of $141 dollars apart and I was disappointed that Kline's would have left me walk away over such a small amount. By this time I was in love with the layout and caved. You pretty much have to take the first offer they give you because even playing hardball they wouldn't budge more ( in total they came down $300, not a lot for a purchase over $10k) In hindsight I do wish I would have made it to look at other trailers elsewhere. While I do think I purchased a good quality product I do feel it could have paid less somewhere else. I've had better experiences and more flexibility negotiating a cash deal at car dealerships than on this major purchase. It's been a few weeks and we have yet to officially use our new camper. Today I just noticed one of the door shelves is missing from the fridge. Although it appeared clean and they claim they are gone over thoroughly I did need to redust and wipe down the cabinet interiors. They do put a lot of emphasis on the inspection and how thorough it is and how you get to look over everything, have it explained and see it operational before you sign. I found out at delivery that that wasn't the case as they push you to sign paperwork prior to meeting with the tech and going over the systems. However I insisted, and they complied without hassle. Our assigned tech Shane was fabulous. He was knowledgeable and went out of his way to explain each system thoroughly. However unless you specifically ask you do not see heat/ac/hot water work although during the "selling process" it's something they emphasize. I also asked to see the awning out (which I recommend). I hope we don't have any issues as there was very little water in the tank to experience the water truly get hot although it did get warm. Used rvs and trailers are sold as is. It is in your best interest to inspect it properly, see everything operating, and verify tow limits before you sign. They do a customary hook up to your vehicle for you which was nice. After we brought the trailer home I did notice we were missing the sink drain plugs and owner's manual and was disappointed when I inquired with Jerry that I was directed to contact their store for purchase. Mental note for next time. If those little details are important to you and if you think they should be complimentary (like I do) make sure you negotiate it into your sale. We also received a 10% discount at the store but it had to be used that day. They also supplied a sewer hose and electrical adaptor. It's nice to know they can service my travel trailer if I bring it there, but manpower is limited and they give priority to customers who purchased from them first. They also provide storage, again to existing customers only. I wish they offered mobile service as I would pay more for someone to come to me. So while I hesitate to say they're my go-to my overall experience was good and I would keep an open mind to purchasing with them again, although next time I'd also explore more options and check to make sure everything is there and nothing additional needs to be purchased. Maybe the worst buying experience I have ever experienced. Started out good when I first contacted them about the camper looked at online. Once I put a down payment down it was like I was a burden to the sales guy "Keith". It took him days to weeks to respond to my voicemails and text messages. We set up a date almost a month in advance to come and sign all the paperwork, sign the financing paperwork and do the walk though. It was about a 200 miles one way trip for us to pick the unit up. On our way there the finance lady calls us and says she would not be there today and someone else would have our paperwork for us to sign. When we showed up it was almost like they were clueless as to what we were getting. Keith never came to introduce himself which is very very odd. Never ever met the salesman. They lady that was given our paperwork to get signed thought we would sign the paperwork before ever seeing the unit and doing the walk through. When we said we wanted to do the walk through she was a little irritated because she was more worried about clocking out to go home. The lady doing the walk though was nice but for the money they charge you for this (I think it was like $500) she did not really show us much, plus I had to point out a few things they missed in the prep (door stops and they did not set up my battery box tie downs correctly. Plus, my battery boxes would not close the entire way- which they did not fix. I did this once I got home) . The young man that set up our hitch system was the bright spot of the trip. He was very kind and took his time to get it right. Once we got home and I went to fix the battery boxes so they would close correctly, I noticed they hooked up my dual batteries incorrectly. They charged me to set this up and did not even do it correctly. Not sure if they messed the batteries up or not, only time will tell. I found a few lose screws inside the camper just rolling around. This could do real damage to the slide out (Guess they did not clean it well). The solar plug bolts broke off just on the ride home, so I had to replace them. I would not purchase here again. Very poor customer service and the service department has me concerned if you cannot even hook up dual batteries correctly. read more

My wife and I came in looking for a new travel trailer and found one we were interested in, yet the salesman did not seem interested in selling it to us. We left to go home and think about it. In the meantime, the model we were interested in was sold, so we found one at Lerch RV which was quite a drive, but we were willing to take it. Fast forward to just recently when we found our RV needed some work to the slide. I called Gayle Kline RV for repairs and after telling them where I purchased the RV, Beth, in the service department, told me they were very busy and were not taking any new customers. She then said they were busy until the end of November. I said, that's ok, I can wait. She then said, we're not taking any new customers. I've never dealt with such rudeness. Whenever I've brought a vehicle to a dealer for repairs, they are more than happy to perform the repairs - no matter where I purchased the vehicle from. read more

Recently purchased a new MH from Gayle Kline. After attending the Hershey RV Show (overwhelming to say the least), then visiting a mega-store dealer, we finally came to Gayle Kline. The experience was great starting with our salesman Jim W who spent several hours with us on two different occasions looking at various models, floor-plans, and features. After we negotiated a great deal on our MH, the delivery experience was also outstanding. Our service tech spent almost 2 hours explaining all the mechanical features and giving us "newbies" helpful hints. If you want personal service from genuinely good people I highly recommend Gayle Kline RV. read more

I've been an occasional customer to Gayle Kline and have yet to be thrilled by their service. Maybe I come in at a bad time when no one wants to be working but not only was my request for parts met with sharp rudeness, but the staff seem to have zero patience when dealing with other customers calling in with questions! I did eventually get my overpriced parts but I still needed to go to another RV store. Went into another location in Highspire, PA and was treated with respect and ended up getting the correct parts. This experience with Gayle Kline will not be forgotten and I will find other means in the future! Just a bad experience. read more

We were very unhappy with our experience with petes rv place. We found our perfect camper and when we returned to purchase it, in the middle of the sale, we were told another salesman sold it out from under us. We were then pressured into putting a down payment on another camper that was significantly more expensive and the opposite of what we wanted. Now we are not getting the camper we wanted and we want the money back for the camper that was not for us. We are being ignored by the salesman and cant get anyone to call us back. I do not recommend dealing with these people, it reaks of bait and switch scams. Our next step is to report this place to the better business bureau. read more

Contacted the service department for a Jayco recall item. Was told first they did not know anything about a recall. Sent them a copy of the recall and was told they would schedule a appointment to do the work. 2 weeks past and no word. Called again and they said I would hear in a week. Still have not heard from them. I would tell you look else where for service or purchase. If they will not service a recalled item just think how they will be for regular maintenance. Jarred sold me a trailer with delamination happening all over the back of the trailer. The owner, Jeff Kline, said they knew about the damage, and dropped the price accordingly. I was under the impression that the price was low due to it being the end of the season. To this day, I am maintaing that the damage was not present when I was walked through the unit, but it was certainly there when I picked it up 3 weeks later. Furthermore, if it was there when I was walked through it...shouldn't the sales person, Jarred, have disclosed it to me??? Regardless, when I got it home, I noticed the damage right away and contacted Jarred who proceeded to tell me, and I have proof, that it was due to the fluctuation of temperatures and that it would "go away" when it cooled down. It did not "go away". As I read more about it, I discovered that it was delamination and it is indeed, really damaged. I called and asked what they were going to do with it, and they basically said that they sold their units "as-is" and there is nothing they can do. Jarred even lied to the owner, saying he never walked me through the unit. He certainly did!!!! Eventually, after two days of avoiding my calls, I filed a complaint with the Attorney General and Better Business Bureau, and Mr. Kline agreed to take back the trailer. I had to research how he should file to get the tax back since he said he could not do that and that I was going to lose the tax I paid...it is a very simple process, outlined on the Dept of PA Revenue and very easy to find. In the end, Mr. Kline followed through and returned the trailer and all I lost was the PA fees for the registration and the tags. This review should be a lesson to all that if you exert your buyers power, you can get what is derserved. And, watch out for salespeople, as they are out to get your comission and do not always have your best interests in mind. Jarred is a very untruthful person who should not be trusted at all. Mr. Kline will do what is right, but only when pushed to the limit by the savvy buyer!! read more

Needed a specific RV in a quick time period. Pete's was able to get it sent over from another state quickly and ready for us when we arrived. The staff was friendly, fast and efficient. Gayle Kline RV Center, ......., PA From our home on Long Island, NY, we located a used hybrid trailer at this facility....a four hour drive away. Finding it mid-winter, we put down a deposit and waited for an opportunity to pick it up about two months later. Because of the distance, we wanted to be assured that there where no leaks or water damage. It was a weekly question for the two months leading up to the pickup. Jerry Barger did assure us, weekly, that no leaks or damage existed. And, weekly, Mr. Barger assured us that, with 50 years as an RV retailer, we could trust their assessment. He also assured us that they do not walk away from the customer after the sale. Feeling comfortable, we drove the four hours to pick it up. At the pickup, a quick look at the front bed was fine to our inexperienced eyes, especially with the mattress in place. It would be hard for inexperienced eyes to catch that the vinyl veneer under the mattress was very slightly bubbling. It was several weeks later, when spring weather allowed us to open it, that we found that the bottom 7" of the entire length of the plywood bed was warped and rotting from water damage under the vinyl veneer. Damage that took far more than a couple of months to get as extensive as it was. Two months of assurances....plenty enough time to get it right,.....and they got it wrong. Well.....that's one possibility. Their response to our polite email was short, sweet and essentially said only " You bought it as is." Yes, we did. But it was quite a change in their customer relations policy. We knew that hybrid leaks can occur, hence the weekly questioning for 2 months. We also understand and accept the "as is, no warranty" that goes with a used rv deal, but the bubbling would be too obvious to a dealer with 50 years experience to miss. With all the assurances he gave while asking us to trust them, Mr. Barger should have checked the trailer thoroughly. In this case, because of their response, I group an "honest" oversight with incompetence. So....it's either deception or incompetence. They either knew it or missed it. They haven't responded to our second email to tell us which it is. Holding to an "as is" contract is one thing. Holding onto it despite obvious deception or just plain incompetence is ethically poor business. Fessing up, making some amends and building a good reputation is better business. I would not suggest patronizing or trusting Gayle Kline RV, especially Mr. Jerry Bargar. read more

Decided to try Kline's about 5 years ago in our search to upgrade to a bigger camper. The salesman was neither enthused or motivated to show campers, so I poked around on my own after he rudely pointed towards the lot and said, "They're out there". No dice, found nothing of interest. Bought our current camper from another dealership out of state who was more than happy to help us...Beckley's in Thurmont, MD. Most recent contact was when I noticed that our awning needs to be replaced. Decided to try Kline's in the spirit of keeping my purchases "local" and with the "Mom and Pop Shop" nearest to our home. Eileen took my original email message and told me that they were about a month out, as far as installations are concerned. After another detailed email that described my awning and a couple other details, she responded with "If you didn't buy your camper here, we can't work on it". So tell me...how do you go from giving me a one month lead time for installations, to "we don't work on campers that we didn't sell"???? That exact mentality is what's killing the Mom-n-Pop Brick-n-Mortar Shops and opening the door WIDE for online sales. Do I recommend Kline's for service...NO. Do I recommend Kline's for camper sales....HELL NO. read more

We purchased a new RV from Gayle Kline in 2016, and have brought it to Gayle Kline for all the inspections, and service. Our last inspection was in April 2019. It is now July, and we are going on our first trip since the inspection was done. As we were getting it ready, my husband noticed that the rear stabilizer jacks were twisted and bent. I called Gayle Kline's service department and explained the problem, and that it had to have happened by mistake while they had the camper. The man at service told me there was no way it happened there. This is simply not true. The jacks were bent backward meaning they had the jacks down, and started to pull the trailer forward, which bent the jacks. The parts cost about $90. The service guy did not offer any help. So much for honesty and customer service. I will never go to Gayle Kline again. read more
