First thing I have to say is they always help me out here with the best service. I have had some brake work done here, oil changes, and coolant replacement. They charge decent pricing for the work they do and this is coming from a broke college student. Kevin was my family's mechanic. We've been going to him since 2001. He used to be super nice and helpful. Over the years he became a grumpy man, very short with us and acts as though he doesn't want to do the job for us. My mom stopped going to him years ago but I continued to bring my car in for an oil change because he was affordable and the only mechanic I knew. He used to take walk-ins. Now I have to schedule an appt for an oil change and he makes it seem like such a hassle. He's rude when I show up. He doesn't tell me anything about what was done with me car. Most of the time I would approach the other Thai guy to seek answers. He still gives me a slight discount, but it's not worth the attitude. I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more

I've been taking my car here for 4 years now. When I first moved out to Long Beach & was having car issues, my uncle from here who is an engineer, highly recommended Pete's Service. I always get good service. And, if I'm not in the position to fix something because of the expense, Kevin has always been willing to talk to me about other options if there are any. A lot of people have been complaining about Kevin's attitude. I have noticed this change in his behavior as well. For the past year, he's been fixing cars by himself. He no longer has other mechanics working for him. So, maybe being exhausted has something to do with it. This is no way effects the quality of his work. I will say, because he works alone it takes a bit longer to fix your vehicle. But, I believe he is an honest person. Which is a hard quality to find at some auto shops. I get my oil changes and tune ups from this place and they do a wonderful job. They changed my oil, rotated my tires, took out a nail and plugged one of my tires and checked my brakes for a very reasonable price. I've also had some brake work and minor repairs done in the past also at a very reasonable price. THey tell you what the problem is and break down the cost for you. There are lots of mechanics in my area but I drive 30 minutes to their shop mainly because they are honest people. No matter who you are these guys will treat you right. read more

My parents were coming to this shop for decades. I've had service here as well for about 1 decade. They do good and competent work, and they are very honest. One problem is that sometimes they are too honest: They want to save you money and avoid non-critical work, but sometimes you really do need preventative maintenance. One issue I ran into was that cheaper parts were being used to repair parts of my car that broke pretty often. In cases like this, I suggest buying your own quality part or asking the mechanics here to order OEM parts rather than splicing on cheap parts if you continue to have problems. I like savings and I like honesty, so I recommend this shop. If you find that certain things are failing a bit too often, ask for higher quality or manufacturer OEM parts instead of cheaper generic parts. They do this to save you money, but sometimes spending a little bit more upfront on quality will save you much more money than having the same damn part replaced over and over and over. read more

To be honest and up front this review is slightly biased cause the owner is my uncle... . But seeing I have spent many a paycheck here up keeping a gifted vehicle to me it's fair as anyone else who patrons this business. I'm 34 right now and have been coming here since I was 18 as a client. This place to my knowledge existed when I was about um...... 2-3 years old me thinks.... Same owner my uncle. The stand alone ability and basic fair quality business practice would be necessary to keep an establishment in place for so many years without wavering. My go to person here is Kevin. When ever there is a problem I call or come in and ask him. They will take a quick look ... (Cosmetic sort of way in a 5 min kinda of time frame ) without charging yah before telling you the diagnostics would be worth the investment but I always say to pay for a reg tune up is worth it and u get the info u need. I suggest to call in if you can before you drop off sometimes they get busy.... If you have any issue with previous repairs they are very good about going back to make things right. Communication is important ! Great place to bring your import vehicles they have fixed Mercedes, Ford, Range Rover, Nissan, Hondas, Audis, Toyotas,and more for me here. The only bad side i can't give them 5 star is that they do not do air-conditioning work alignments but they do replace tires and repair the parts that go for the air conditioner and such. read more
