    avocado power bowl

My friend and I came here for brunch around noon. This is a good spot especially if the other MarieBette is so busy. There's the water st garage parking lot and the ParkMobile open lot across the street as well. I got the iced dirty chai with almond milk and the egg and bacon sandwich on a baguette, which was delicious. My friend did the avocado power bowl which she said was delicious. Cute little cafe, I like the high top tables. There's also seating at the bar and by the window which is nice. I would definitely come back.

If you're craving a piping hot breakfast, this spot delivers. The egg sandwich was seasoned well and delicious. Even the hash won us over, especially with the scrambled eggs. Cheese sandwich was usual. The bakery is equally impressive--the flourless dark chocolate cake was outstanding, and the kids couldn't get enough of the apple tart and other treats.

Had the sea salt hand honey latte and it was so cute. Also definitely the best latte I've ever had. It came with a petite canele since I ordered "for here" which aren't my fav but some friends love them so they ate it. Also got the bananas foster brioche feuilletée which is my fav pastry there and I love to try the variants

Popular, but with good reason. Went for breakfast and coffee multiple mornings while in town - and it was awesome. Friendly, prompt service despite the crowd. Delicious homemade sourdough bread we brought home to enjoy. Neat vibe. Price was right. Love it.

We absolutely adored this sweet little bakery & café one block from Charlottesville's bustling Downtown Mall. I had heard about their main location, but this one was right by our hotel, and it was the perfect place to enjoy the morning. There was a consistent line from the time we arrived (around 8:45am) until we left at 10. We were lucky to snag a table in the cozy nook area in the back with cute, colorful pillows - perfect place to read and eat! Every single pastry looked delicious - it was difficult to just pick a few (had to get some extras to bring home, of course) - we decided to split a bacon, egg & cheese breakfast sandwich on their house-made baguette (breakfast perfection - even better with a little Cholula), then we shared the Brioche Feuilletée (filled with bananas foster cream and topped with sugar & caramel drizzle - WOW), a few petit canelés (tiny and tasty), a classic pan au chocolat and raspberry petit kouign amann (saved both for later). The drip coffee was good, but the espresso was even better - I'm glad we grabbed a few cortados on our way out. I will recommend all of MariaBette's locations to anyone going to Charlottesville - it was very memorable!!

Goodness. What a delicious experience. I ordered mine for pickup ahead of time, and when I arrived (the pickup counter is at the far end, btw) it was ready- with the exception of my drinks, which I SO appreciate them waiting on. I had expected to have lukewarm coffees, but because they were made last minute it totally exceeded my expectations. The pastries were phenomenal. I get picky about these things too- too much time in the case can mean a fridge-like taste, etc., but not here. These were great. We tried all the versions of the croissants, as well as the palmiers. Really were baked to perfection with just the right sweetness. I was so happy. We also tried the veggie quiche, but because I'm not a fan of Gruyère I couldn't get into it. But that doesn't discount anything they have going on, it's a great place and I'll definitely be stopping again if I come back to Charlottesville.

The interior and music to this place was a very good touch to the wannabe main character esque vibe. The coffee and desserts however, are lackluster. The pain au chocolat was incredibly dry and did not have the hype that everyone else in other reviews were giving it. The coffee as well tasted incredibly bitter for an iced latte?? I usually savor and enjoy each sip but this one I was just looking to finish it to be able to get my moneys worth (which was about $6 which I think is pretty bananas for a small coffee). The employees working there seemed nice but the food and coffee honestly was not up to par.

Found this cute cafe/bakery shop while looking for a spot for lunch on a super busy Sunday in the main area. So we headed a few blocks away and easily walked in, walked right up to order, and had our food within 15 minutes! They're a little stuffy and snobbish upon entry and weren't friendly really at all... but the food was great and the menu options were excellent. They are requiring masks for everyone inside unless you are eating which is fine by me, but it's so terribly small inside that it seems futile if you wear the mask to walk up and order and then step 4 feet away to sit and take it off to eat... but kudos for trying and I'm on board. We went with a few things - I chose a piece of the quiche for the day which was a mushroom, leak and thyme. It was great and fresh and a pretty large piece for sharing. I also got an iced soy latte (no syrup) which was very good. My friend got a chicken salad sandwich which was actually a fairly large portion and the chicken salad was delicious! The real winner for me was the yogurt parfait with plain yogurt, a strawberry compote and some delicious house-made granola. YUM! The inside is charming and well-laid out and there was a clean and well-kept bathroom. A solid visit and a place I'd come again for some French pastries and parfait.

Petite MarieBette has some great pastries! Their breakfasts are also delightful and I love their hot chocolate month. They do have a much smaller menu than the other location so just keep that in mind when you head here. The spot is cozy and seats are usually open :)

a cute cafe in charlottesville. their service was super smiley, friendly and was pleasant. the food and drinks is what puts it over the top. i ordered an iced latte, seasonal honey & sea salt latte, the twin peaks sandwich, and a lorraine quiche. the twin peaks is actually the best tuna salad sandwich ive ever had. the seasonal latte was also perfectly balanced. this place is a must visit in charlottesville

I mean, the pastry kings of Charlottesville are here in mini form, still killing it. What more can you ask for.

Fantastic experience. Wife and I did a 2 night stay and enjoyed every minute. Although there are…read moreseveral buildings, we stayed in the "main house" which was so convenient. The bar, front desk, valet and pool just steps away. The staff were like family and accommodations very comfortable. Many thanks to Antonio at the desk/valet, Tyler the bar manager and Tyler Cupec Director of Rooms for making it a trip worthy of a not only a 5 star review but also a future return as well.

Oakhurst Inn is a clean, orderly, well stocked vintage inn in Charlottesville. My room was clean,…read morecomfortable, with nice furniture and the bathroom in excellent shape. Quality linens. Squeaky clean hardwood floors all over. Tasteful old furniture. Every staff member I spoke to was polite, courteous, and happy to help. The self serve stations for hot coffee, tea, and cold water was a convenient resource outside of the door. This inn appears to be made of several former homes that were turned into a campus of buildings making the Oakhurst Inn. It's not a single building. The small lawn in the center of the complex has benches, hammock, and a fireplace that seems welcoming and nice, but I wasn't aware of them until I left. There were a few problems during my stay. The inn requires guests to use valet parking which is $40 per night, not disclosed before my stay, and often required a long wait for the valet to return. This makes it hard to retrieve anything you need from your car. The front desk staff are often missing from the front desk - I had to wait 15 minutes for someone to come back and check me in on arrival. Likewise, the bartender is often away from station and you might wait 10 or 30 minutes for the bartender to return. There is no mini fridge or microwave in the hotel rooms. The pool area was extremely dark at night, making it tricky or dangerous to navigate. The pool water was lukewarm, not warm at all. The sauna was out of order and the doorway was small and obscured by chairs. Not accessible and difficult to find. This inn has no gym. The lobby is very small and has no seating for guests or places to hang their luggage, although the nearby lounge has a few leather couches and a fireplace that doesn't appear to be working. Not the most welcoming or convenient. Overall I don't think it's worth the hefty price tag and would stay elsewhere when I return to Charlottesville.
