The ladies were always sweet to the pups. my 4 used to love going there. In fact we purchased them all from the ladies.

I've used this grooming salon multiple times before and have always had good experiences with the other groomers, which is why this was so upsetting. This time my groomer was Sidney (not sure on spelling), and before grooming she called to ask permission to shave underneath my husky and around his chest area. I agreed to THAT only. At no point was I told she intended to shave his entire body. I picked up my husky completely shaved down, which was shocking and honestly devastating. Huskies have a double coat, and shaving them is generally not recommended unless medically necessary. If a full shave was being considered, that absolutely should have been clearly discussed and approved beforehand. I'm honestly embarrassed to even take him out for walks right now because of the stares and comments I know we're going to get. Beyond appearance, I'm also genuinely concerned about his sun protection and ability to properly regulate his temperature now that his coat has been shaved off. My issue is not with the salon as a whole, since I've had positive experiences there previously. My issue is specifically with the lack of communication and consent from this groomer. I trusted that my instructions would be followed, and they were not. I'm extremely disappointed and hope management addresses this so it doesn't happen to another owner. read more

Our doodle (we think because she is a rescue) has been going here since she was about 8 months old. We ask for a very short cut because we have burrs all over our yard. She comes back looking beautiful with flowers on her ears and is super happy. We bring her back for regular grooming. They tell us she is a joy. On the other hand, our small terrier mix was very upset when she came home from grooming. Not sure why but she does not do well if put in a crate as she was caged for quite a long time at the dog pound. I did not tell them that so probably my fault. Our long haired cat requires to be given medication prior to grooming appointment so that he stays calm and the job can get done. We give our cat medication per guidelines. His appt was scheduled for 12. by 330, we called to check on him and they still hadn't got to him. By 530 we still did not receive a phone call, we ended up going to facility to pick up our cat & come to find out they supposedly tried multiple times to complete grooming. However I have an issue with this because my cat was in this place for almost 6 hours. By the time they tried grooming him, I imagine his medication was no use to them. If the grooming cannot be complete on the first attempt, you should call and have them picked up. It is not fair to put the animal and family in this situation of worry and stress. Read the whole review. Honestly amazing. I was very unsure at first. They just moved to a new location so gave them the benefit of the doubt. Our dog took way longer than expected and honestly longer than it should have, but when I called they said they were down a groomer. I called again and they said twenty minutes. The whole way there I said "I will never ever again. This is crazy." I got there and our boy looked the best he has ever looked. He gets matted and hard to brush out. Most of the time we show up to our old groomer and they would've had to just shave him down. That's because they didn't want to take their time to brush him out. Our old groomer he'd come home partially wet which just led to more matting. They were so apologetic about the timing but they really took their time to make sure his ears were cleaned out and every inch of his hair was brushed out. I've never been so impressed. Give them a chance. They really care about your pet and are absolutely incredible at what they do. We won't go anywhere else going forward. THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. read more

Probably the best groomer in Chino Valley and the surrounding area! They really love your pets and will care for them like they are their own while in their care. They don't kennel then, they allow a pack mentality which is fabulous. Dogs get to be dogs which reduces if not eliminates their anxiety! We tried them out today and these ladies are excellent ! My guy is a old man who had a rough start in life , and it takes a lot to gain the trust of a dog with traumatic memories. Very impressed with this dog grooming company. They treated my Lucy with special care, she looked beautiful and not anxious when we picked her up. She was adorned with a bandana and "earrings". First off, loved the cute doggie circus atmosphere when you figure out (easily) how to work the double gate and walk through the door. It's a hoot & a howl there as the littlest of the greeting crew swirled about my feet. A nice change from the doctor's office vibe where we used to get beagle groomed. So I left the drama queen beagle in their capable hands to return a coule hours later to find the friendly groomers had produced a tip top clean, sweet-smelling, well-groomed doggie with clipped nails. Reading these reviews prior to going would not have helped me. A friend referred me to pets first choice however they didn't know the name of the place and I couldn't figure it out finally I found an entrance in to the building and was told they could do the nails for $10. I told them I've had a heck of a Time finding someone I trust because my Toby has had some bad experiences and he hates his feet being touched. The last groomer backhanded him in his face. I do not want to take him back to her however I just might have to. So I was told to come back after I grab my Toby I didn't know how they did things but I was told to sit in a chair outside and hold my Toby. I immediately did not like the way she was cutting his nails and then I noticed blood all over my leg. I understand accidents happen especially cuz my Toby has black nails. But above All things what infuriates me is that I was told by another gal that Toby acted the way he did and all of that happened because I held him I should have just brought him in and let the ladies deal with him. I didn't know that I was calling the shots?! I was told by one of the ladies to sit on the chair I thought it to be odd but listened to what she said thinking she knew what she was doing. Needless to say I will not go back, I told her to stop before she finished, he still has two long nails!!! still in search of a good groomer that can clip nails. read more

These ladies care about your pet. I did a lot of research before bringing my sweet rescue to a Groomer and was a little worried about it. They made me feel comfortable and my dog feels comfortable going there. Everyone I asked, and believe me I asked a lot of people, told me that this was the place to go. They even take the cutest seasonal photos of your pet after he or she has been groomed and send you the photos. They go the extra mile. read more

We had 2 dogs both were rescues one of our dogs was 16 years old. We recently moved to Prescott and heard good things about Debbie and Pets first choice. We were anxious about the care Sophie would receive and how she would respond to a new groomer.The groomers were so patient kind and gentle and Sophie looked like a puppy when I picked her up. I am so glad I found Pets first choice as Sophie has now passed and knowing her last few months were as stress free as we could make it is a wonderful feeling. I would have given them a 5 star review except it takes too long for the dogs to get finished . We live in Williamson Valley and so we try to do a few things in Chino while the dogs are with Debbie and I usually end up sitting in my car reading while the dogs get groomed. read more

This place is super cute, friendly and the owner Debbie was very thorough checking in our furbabies! They get to play with the other puppies there and stayed nice and cool on this hot day! They even got their nails painted, stick on earrings and a Fourth of July bandana necklace! Oh...bottled water in the doggie bowl to boot! Totally worth the price you pay. Paid less at another place, but our girls HATED going! We also got a report on how they did and little stories on the days happenings! I felt like they really cared about our Girls! We will be back! Debbie and her team do absolute wonders with my two dachshunds. Her hut can be difficult to find off the highway but don't give up. She has the outside area where your fur babies can relieve themselves and get a little sun (although not right now as it's the crazy N. Arizona heatwave). Her staff takes incredible photos of your babies depending upon what national holiday is near. Any dog person can tell that they love dogs and will use TLC when grooming them! read more

My first time at "Pets 1st Choice"and I was very impressed. Many dogs greeted us and all well behaved and happy. When I picked my dog up she was very at ease. Debbie and the others really go over and beyond with grooming. My little dog had a bandanna on her, nails painted and boy did she smell good. I even got some education on annal glands, thanks Debbie! Pet's first choice is a great place to have your pet groomed, the ladies are super nice, my mini schnauzer Dexy I think can be a hand full but they can handle him, and do a good job at grooming, the photo's they took at Xmas were adorable I can't believe he sat still for the photo. I take my 2 small dogs to Pet's 1st Choice for all their grooming. Very caring employees who care about all the dogs. Small ones and some larger ones are allowed to run around and are not kept in crates while they wait to be groomed. Nails are cut and polished, ears are cleaned and pictures are taken every time they are in for grooming. read more
