Chino Valley is a disaster in many ways, including the weather (think 40mph+ wind throughout spring, Dust Devils, 95+ degree summer weather, and hard freezes in winter) be it fine dining (except for Essence and El Charro, perhaps), quality grocery stores, entertainment, or navigating the city's road potholes everywhere. I can see why octogenarians aren't bothered, with many of them traversing into Prescott via emergency ambulance every day.

I've used this grooming salon multiple times before and have always had good experiences with the…read moreother groomers, which is why this was so upsetting. This time my groomer was Sidney (not sure on spelling), and before grooming she called to ask permission to shave underneath my husky and around his chest area. I agreed to THAT only. At no point was I told she intended to shave his entire body. I picked up my husky completely shaved down, which was shocking and honestly devastating. Huskies have a double coat, and shaving them is generally not recommended unless medically necessary. If a full shave was being considered, that absolutely should have been clearly discussed and approved beforehand. I'm honestly embarrassed to even take him out for walks right now because of the stares and comments I know we're going to get. Beyond appearance, I'm also genuinely concerned about his sun protection and ability to properly regulate his temperature now that his coat has been shaved off. My issue is not with the salon as a whole, since I've had positive experiences there previously. My issue is specifically with the lack of communication and consent from this groomer. I trusted that my instructions would be followed, and they were not. I'm extremely disappointed and hope management addresses this so it doesn't happen to another owner.
