Years ago I accidentally returned the wrong tube UVB and I remember talking with them about it and it was an accident. I stayed a loyal customer who has bought/saved countless animals from there, but a day ago I buy a 90 dollar bulb that never turns on and I cannot return it... fucking joke. And I mean saved animals as in they aren't kept properly. None of the animals have correct enclosure sizes, The chameleons are never kept properly and are so stressed // never have a laying bin. my tegu was powerfed and was kept with incorrect temps. I have never bought a fish from there that wasnt extremely stressed from being over crowded. Not to mention everyone is like a zombie except for the people hired in the last few months, its way overpriced, and im glad I never see a soul at the Moscow location; never going back. read more

I'm happy there is a place near me that has a great selection of goods even with the shipping problems everyone is experiencing. When I adopted a cat, it was really a great place to find EVERYTHING I needed for him, and at a reasonable price. I keep telling my friends it is actually more affordable than a lot of Walmart's meager offerings, and better quality overall. read more

Customer service generally sucks but as others have said, it's one of the few options for pet care items in the area, especially exotic pets. If you know what you're looking for and are just gonna go in, buy something, and leave, it's not that bad. I LOVE this store. The selection is amazing. The staff is friendly, helpful and extremely well educated about the critters and products they sell. And their prices for my pets' food beats the other local pet store (and anywhere online) by a rather large margin. Plus, even with a vast variety, they stock small enough amounts of the pet food and supplies that the stock is rotated often and sure to be fresh. Top that off with the good feeling you get knowing that you're doing your part by supporting a local business when shopping there, and I have no idea why anyone would shop for pet supplies anywhere else! I love the employees that always seem happy to see you there. Bring in a pet and they are even more excited. One employee even brings his conure and has a play area set up for his and the customers birds. The staff is also pretty knowledgeable even in the more "weirder pets" such as ferrets and snakes. Every time I come in the staff seem excited to talk about their animals and possibly bring one out to fall in love with. One of the employees noticed me having a panic attack and brought out a ball python to help calm me down and give me something to focus on. What great service! The guys at the front always give my dog a treat when we check out. They have very affordable toys and chew things. My little chihuahua terrier mix chews like crazy so my Wife and I go just about every week. My puppy knows when we're in the parking lot that we are there and she cries with excitement. We take her up and down the isles and let her pick her own toys. The staff is very patient with her and her puppy tendencies like jumping and running to the toy isles. They remember us every time. This store has become a part of our families routine we love it so much. read more

I just want the store owner or manager of Pets Are People Too to be aware of some problems with one of their employees. There is a young Asian man who works in the Moscow store who has been rude to me for the last time today. I was in the store a few months ago buying gravel for one of my aquariums and this Asian man kept trying to talk me out of the colors of gravel I wanted! I wasn't sure why he had an issue with the gravel color I wanted in the first place but, he seemed determined to get his way! LOL! I thought it was a bit odd at the time but decided to let it go thinking maybe he was having a bad day or something. Today, I stopped by to look at the Bettas since I recently lost my old one. I noticed there was a new lighted display case for the Bettas which wasn't there the last time I looked at them. I didn't realize there were airlines attached to the top of all the clear cups the Bettas were in so I picked up one and held it up so I could get a better idea of what color the Betta was, how long the fins were, if he looked healthy, etc. The young Asian man was working again and he walked over to me, took the Betta out of my hands and said in an extremely harsh tone, "You can't pick them up!" So, I started toward the front door to leave since I didn't see a Betta I was interested in and the other young man working ( a very nice one!) told me when they may have a new shipment of Bettas coming in since there weren't many to choose from. I turned around and said, "If you won't let me get a good look at them, I'll buy one at Petco". I wasn't rude in any way, I was just stating a fact. The nice young man just shook his head "yes" as I walked out the door! So, I'm guessing something like this has happened before to other customers. I wish I had gotten the names of these two young men but I was too shocked to even think about it! I'm sure the manager of the store knows who I'm talking about. I'm sorry to say that Pets Are People Too lost a customer today! I have been buying cat food and cat supplies, aquarium supplies, fish and fish supplies there for the four years that I have lived in Moscow. Most of the employees have been very nice but I have had my fill of this young Asian man who seems to think being rude to customers is acceptable! I don't mind shopping at Petco anyway since they have a very large selection of items, I have found the employees there to always be VERY helpful and cheerful, they have even gone out of their way for me a few times and I really believe that's what makes a good employee! I try to support the smaller, independent businesses around Moscow whenever possible but, in this instance, I have decided that Petco is much easier to work with and I don't walk out the door feeling like I just had an extremely negative experience! I will not step foot in Pets Are People Too again nor will I recommend the store to anyone. So, I am sorry, but so long Pets Are People Too! I will miss you and wish you the best of luck... P.S. My daughter and I have been coming here for several years, and they are always able to accommodate our various pets--rabbit, dog, cat, and chickens. They are helpful and friendly and knowledgeable. Their expertise in a wide range of pets as well as their variety of products are greatly appreciated. The store has enough items you would see in popular stores like MudBay and Petpros, if you are sued to going to those stores back in Seattle. I appreciate the large section the store has for the dog toys and treats, my dogs can always stay in one aisle with me. Being the only pet store in Pullman, the store isn't quite that big, but you'll find what you need. My pets and I both love it here. We go to both of the locations (Pullman and Moscow). I am unsure about why so many reviews mention poor service. I have never had poor service. They aren't following me around asking if I need help every 5 seconds, but they are always available when I have questions. I have never seen them chatting with each other, as another reviewer mentioned. The staff have helped me choose food for both my dog and cats, and I haven't had any issues. They helped me choose another quality food when I decided to go for something cheaper than my dogs' current food. They didn't pressure me to get something more expensive. They merely shared nutrition information and personal experience. To the person complaining that they weren't open on New Years' Eve, don't be silly... this is Pullman. Most local businesses here are closed on holidays or on the days preceding or following it. That is small town living. Prices are comparable to Petco in Moscow. read more

This is the only specialty pet supply store in Pullman. I was looking forward to supporting this local, independent business. Unfortunately my experience as a customer has not been very positive. The employees, with one exception, have never cracked a smile, made me feel welcome or that my patronage was valued. They are not open on Sunday, nor late into the evenings. When I stopped by on the afternoon of New Year's eve and found them closed, that was the last straw. I will return to buying on Amazon. read more
