I can not express how much of an amazing trainer Ian is!…read more I have a dog, Deku, who had behavioral issues. Deku has been through a previous board and train, but I feel like that board and train mainly tackled his obedience, not his behavior issues. I let Ian know about all of this prior to boarding Deku and he made sure to explain his process with me. He also made me write down goals for Deku so that he can focus on them and make sure he tackled through them. I boarded Deku with Ian for 3 weeks and Ian made sure to send over progress pictures/videos every single day! I appreciated the content of Deku because that is basically my baby lol. There was a mid session where Ian taught me how to properly use the ecollar and showcasing what Deku has been up to the time he was with Ian. Deku was pretty much a different dog by the mid session, so it excited me to have him back after the 3rd week. The day I got Deku back, Ian showed me all of the progress and work Deku did and he was completely different. Deku stopped reacting towards people/other dogs and he was very obedient with following all commands! It's been almost a week now and Ian has checked in on Deku while he's been at home for the week and I also have follow-up sessions included in my service! I have been so happy with Deku is at! Before, I would be too scared to bring Deku out in public due to his reactivity/behavior, but I truly believe he is a completely different dog now, for the better! Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend Ian to EVERYONE. He is the real deal. I do feel like Ian knows how to connect with these dogs and emphasizes about how important relationships + communicating with your dog. Ian id the BEST!

Many times, when we get home, our cat doesn't even meet us at the door meowing. . . It's as if she was being fed and pet enough, NOT TO EVEN MISS US. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I will never use them again after my TERRIBLE experience. Initially used this service for a short business trip with success so tried again for a longer trip to see family between Christmas and NYE. The company sent a sitter I had never met who incorrectly used the pill injector on my sick, elderly cat and forced her to swallow the over inch-long applicator tip. Resulted in $3,000 emergency vet surgery to remove that I had to manage from out of town. So deeply stressful for me but mainly my poor elderly asthmatic cat!! They handled it but SO unnecessary and only happened bc of their bizarre business model where they pick whichever of their employees are available, not someone who knows your house/pet. So if you get one who knows what they're doing you don't necessarily get them again - it's totally random from the customer's perspective. Instead of enjoying my family I had to spend the time managing the emergency they created from afar, stressed and fuming that I trusted this company to send someone competent to care for my sweet older cat. After the first disastrous pill delivery issue they sent the **same person** again a day later who clearly doesn't know how to give a cat medication and she, again, incorrectly gave my cat her medication!!! My cat gets ill if she misses just one day, the medication is a high-dose steroid for her asthma. The employee did not know how to give her the pill, but still marked the medication as administered on their form (I only figured out it didn't happen when I read the notes) and instead of giving her the pill rubbed it on her gums -?!? I am FURIOUS for my poor cat and at the incompetence of this employee they continue to use, along with the management that assured me they know how to give cats medication and yet still sent this individual out after it was proved that they cannot give a cat medication effectively. The other employees seemed to be ok but I had no choice over who they sent over, meaning every visit was a gamble. If you need anything beyond the most basic service, avoid avoid avoid!!!

We love Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting!…read more My husband and I have been using Fire Hydrant for dog walking and pet sitting for a little over a year now. We have two medium sized dogs that we rescued from South Korea. As a result of their previous lives and travel history, our dogs are pretty reserved, anxious, and not particularly sociable to other dogs or people. It takes them a while to warm up and this requires a great deal of patience and effort. On top of that, they have separation anxiety from one another. We knew there would be times that we were out of town and needed help outside of our family, so we started dog walking with Fire Hydrant to get the girls accustomed to the walkers. Prior to our walks, Fire Hydrant was great with the initial interview asking where everything was, how the process usually works, any allergies, etc. The first few walks I chose to walk with Denice to share some quirks and share any additional info that might be helpful. This was probably over excessive on my part but Denice was so kind and reassured me they'd be in good hands. In the past year, we've been able to work with Denice, Taylor, Stefy, Annika, Deanne, and Amy and our girls have become used to and love all of them. I no longer worry when we're traveling or stepping away for an evening and can enjoy my time fully knowing that my dogs and home are well taken care of by the Fire Hydrant team. They share the exact route they go on and plenty of photos during their visits. Any pro tips I can give to other fur parents who may have anxious pets would include: - Provide high-value treats the team can use with every walk in case of an emergency or as needed - Share any quirks or anxieties your pet(s) may have with the team. This helps and all the FH team members have been so thoughtful to remember my many pages of notes - If your pets take a while to warm up to new people, start ahead of time and continue to slowly introduce them bit by bit. This will help!
