I have gone to petsmart multiple times and haven't had an issue up until now. I took my dog in to get a slight haircut and cleaning and showed a picture of what I wanted (same thing as always) and was ensured that was what was going to be done. Upon picking up my dog, I immediately noticed she was shaved completely.... obviously FAR from what I had asked for and I mentioned that I was not happy to which I was immediately dismissed and told "she was matted so we shaved her". My dog was not matted, never has been as I wash and brush her once a week... even then, shaving her was never discussed. When I started to talk to a manager I was immediately asked "was she matted" rather than a slight concern. We've taken our goldendoodle here multiple times, usually with good results. This last time we found a serious razor burn behind his ear (the burn left a blood sore) and a 2" burn on the underside of his tail. What's more disturbing was that I specifically told them to be gentle around his anal area and not to trim too short, this has been an issue in the past. Never again!! read more

Great little place come here often. Biggest flaw that this store has is that there's no dedicated employee stationed near the fish/reptile area when I need to buy crickets for my lizard. Sometimes there is and other times I'm standing here waiting for 10-15 minutes before someone notices and shows up. They used to have a call button, then a barcode to scan to let someone know but for some reason this store ditched both of those and nowhere I am standing again waiting and waiting for someone to get the tickets I need. Every time I have gone into the store there has been multiple dead fish. There is obviously nothing ever done because I've reported it multiple times and heard other people doing the same. The fish have awful living conditions with some have mold in their water. Clearly the living conditions are non livable because tons of dead fish are in the store every time. I have even seen dead guinea pigs. Just awful animal treatment, especially for an ANIMAL STORE. read more

DO NOT take your pets to be groomed here. Awful experience. Took over 2 hours for a 1 hour appointment, never called to let me know my dog was ready. When I came to pick up my dog, the girls gave me silent treatment and then proceeded to complain about my dog's energy. Overall very very negative vibe, I do not feel comfortable bringing any of my dogs here anymore. As someone who works in the veterinary field, it is discouraging to see people who seemingly hate their jobs work around animals, and sweet animals at that. Don't bring your animals here. read more

Today I brought my 6 month old corgi in for her first full grooming! We have been going to this location for nail clipping because I'm too nervous to do my puppy's nails alone. I love the people here. They are great with my puppy, answer all my questions with great confidence, and my dog seems so happy every time I pick her up from here! The only reason I gave 4 stars is because I have never stayed in the room for the grooming session so I have to go off my puppy's attitude when I pick her up that it was indeed, a good experience here. Found this pup on this site, lead me to Foothills Pet Rescue Sierra! Yesterday I went to adopt this puppy from these folks! Little 10 pound beautiful baby girl puppy! It was the saddest experience I have ever had!!! Walked in - lady greeted us with "Why are you here! No hello! No smile No hello! I said to meet Rose! Again in a very loud voice"No! Rose was adopted weeks ago! No Rose, No!!! Went to my car and got the picture...oh yes she is here that's Blouse! Ok, get your Shepherd and we will do a meet and greet! Went to this big room and brought the cutest baby I ever saw in! Kipnuk was so happy with her! The next thing I know is that this old lady starts giving orders! Next thing there were over 9 pups that I did not ask to meet ...then they brought in other people interested in my beautiful puppy! We are told No, two girl dogs cannot live together! No you can have Joe, Boxy, Chris, Butt Head ...but you cannot have the cute little pup that you picked! Kipnuk is showing lap dog behavior and two girl dogs cannot live together! I was so sad I could not talk! I told Mister let's go! Ok this part is really mean! I just know that girl will be fattened up and be Christmas dinner! This adoption process was very wrong! I just cannot do it again! My heart hurts and I learned! Just lie so you can adopt a dog that you love!!! read more

I brought my little chihuahua into the Grooming Room at about 10am this morning as a walk in. I thought that they opened at 9 am. Nobody was there. I was informed by staff that the groomers don't show up until the first scheduled appointment. Which happened to be at 10:30 today. Really? That's No way to run a business. When I went into the waiting room the area was filthy with dog hair. To the point where I wanted to ask for a broom to help clean it up. Apparently it was left like that from the day before? When I got home I noticed a tick crawling on my leg. Probably from all the animal hair on the floor!! read more

I gave a 5 star rating because the work was terrific. It was a same day appointment, which is unheard of these days! The management and front office ladies were wonderful. My dog is older and he has a large growth on his side. I had the vets office tell the groomer it was safe to groom him, but the groomer was overly cautious and was continually questioning his condition.. However, the dog was groomed with managements approval and the job was terrific. I am completely satisfied and want to encourage everyone looking to have your dog groomed, try Pet Smart in Auburn you won't be disappointed.. read more

I have been going here for many years. They have always done an adequate job, not great but good enough. Yesterday I picked up my dogs and they had shaved them to the bone. They are Cavaliers and you do not shave Cavaliers. Any halfway decent groomer would know how to groom each breed. If they needed to do something outside the breed standard, they should have told me. When I complained, they blamed me for poor communications. No matter what I said, it was my fault. The manager started to go through my history and she even implied we had never taken our dogs for a haircut there! They offered a refund but I would have preferred if they had taken responsibility. Needless to say, we will never go here again. read more

Great service at PetSmart Auburn! My cats were hungry due to a total fail delivery from Amazon (because they used USPS to ship pet food to me) I signed onto PetSmart for in-store pick up. Within 15 minutes of placing my order, I had an email that it was ready to pick up. I drove up, called and asked for curbside pickup. Within two minutes the gal was out, my car was loaded, and I was on the way home. Awesome service! read more

Well... set an appointment for grooming. Nice that the staff could accommodate for a same day appointment. Arrived early checked in by really nice staff member. Had to wait, did some shopping and returned for grooming. Here is where the crankiest "used to be" (her words...) vet tech steps in... I naturally shared information about my dog Zoe... Dog had been given a 1/4 of a full dose of a vet prescribed anxiety medication for grooming purposes... prescribed by an actual veterinarian not a washed up vet tech... really did not appreciate her unsolicited opinion... she really needs a tune up on customer service skills...I now understand why she went backwards in her career path. Everyone in the store was great, this woman sealed the deal...Good luck if you catch her for your grooming needs... read more

We've been going to this location for grooming for a couple of years. Upon arrival, everyone is all smiles and super loving to Gerry, our amazing rescue pup. The online scheduling makes for a fast check in. They always confirm the services just to check. Usually we request Sonya but we've also had other groomers who are fabulous, too. I am so happy to have found Lindsay and Grace at the Grooming Salon here in Petsmart!!! Having just moved to Grass Valley I had to find a new pet grooming place for my beloved dogs. We have had several bad experiences in the past with different grooming places - from unsanitary conditions, razor burns in the most delicate areas of my dogs' bum, to uncaring groomers. So I was more than careful this time around. Before I booked an appointment at Petsmart, I first watched the groomers at work a few times before. I have heard of horror stories and have seen first hand how groomers would brush the dogs so harshly and when the dogs yelp, they would yell at the dogs and worst, hit the dogs and keep brushing them even more harshly. This was not what I have seen at this grooming salon. Each time I visited this Petsmart, I saw the groomers gently handle dogs of all sizes, attentively soothe the dogs' fear and discomfort, and care for them as professionals. With this information, I decided to take my Bella, a rotund black lab mix and Lil Guy, a medium sized terrier mix in for a groom. My lab was assigned to Grace and my terrier assigned to Lindsay. My lab has never had a groom and therefore frightened, and my terrier mix with his wiry, matted dreads is extremely sensitive to razor burns and was therefore horrified at having to go through the process again. But knowing that my dogs need the specialized groom, I had to take them in. My dogs have lost of fun in the red dirt, lakes, dog parks, and show just have much fun they have in their matted, dirty, smelly fur. And they reaked! We were all nervous but both Lindsay and Grace put us at ease. The result...Bella and Lil Guy came out gorgeous and happy! They sashayed about with their beautiful, shiny and trimmed coats. They knew they look great and they felt great, no more itchy skin, shedding hair and smelly matted coats. One of the best parts is that Lindsay actually called me a few days later to check up on Bella and Lil Guy and to make doubly sure that Lil Guy did not have any razor burns. And because she was careful and skilled, Lil Guy did not have any razor burns or any of the discomfort he has had with other groomers in the past. Bella and Lil Guy still flaunt their new hair do and sashay about knowing how pretty they look. We are so happy! My only regret - in my excitement to see how great Bella and Lil Guy were cared for, I forgot to tip Lindsay and Grace! I will definitely remedy my error. I am extremely happy and grateful for the professional skill, expertise and loving care they gave my beloved fur balls! read more

Holly is an excellent trainer. I highly recommend taking her classes. Having class in PetSmart helps greatly to socialize your dog and get used to many distractions. I have a year old Golden Retriever and we are now in the advanced class. She will be well prepared to take the CGC test, thanks to Holly. We will continue on to the therapy class. I have enjoyed Holly's classes immensely and have learned as much as my pup. read more

She listened to what I wanted and it was even better than I expected. She gave me options to choose from and made me feel that my 10 month old (giant) puppy was going to be taken care of. I went to this location to pick up an online order. There was one cashier at the front and there was a very long line. I didn't want to interrupt so I walked around the store looking for another employee. There were no other employees on the floor except for one I found back in the fish department and I politely asked her for help and told her I needed to pick up an online order. She asked if there was anyone cashiering and I told her that yes there was but they were busy. She proceeded to go back to what she was doing and ignored me for about 30 seconds. I asked again if she could help me. She turned around and looked at me and then sighed very dramatically and walked towards the front without a word. I followed her because I figured that's what I was supposed to do. She told the cashier to help me and walked away. The cashier immediately left the register and got my package and handed it to me. So thank you for the quick help cashier, but no thanks to that employee. read more

Not only did he help me instantly find the Flea shampoo I needed, but he also helped me find the best product for my dogs situation. If I could give negative stars I would. My show quality long-haired white Swiss Shepherd has been absolutely ruined. The woman that I talked to in detail passed off the job to someone else and through a "misunderstanding" they shaved my dog instead of brushing and trimming up. My beautiful long-haired Swiss Shepard looks like a rat. Shaving a Shepherd is never advisable. The double coat gets matted trying to grow back and it turns into a big mess. They should know better. It is so horrible I vomited when I got home. I feel absolutely sick. read more

I returned to the grooming salon after last month's issue. So glad I gave them another opportunity. Kristin (Asst. Mgr.) dropped in to greet my dog and me, which I thought was kind and professional. Jessica and Lindsay (?), sorry, bad with names, trimmed my dog's nails. They were extra careful in accommodating him and his post-surgical needs. Extremely friendly which alleviated my concerns from my last visit. We will definitely return. Also, the grooming associate, with whom I previously expressed dislike, is gone! AWESOME service. I wanted some 'feeder fish' for out small pond. We took the 4 & 2-1/2 yr old grand-kids with us. They were very excited to see 'everything'. Little plushy toys, whether they be for pets or kids. When we finally got to the rear of the store where all the critters are, it was like taking them to a little fun zoo. Birds, reptiles & fish of all sorts. An associated came over to assist us. I told him I wanted a dozen or so feeders to put in a little pond. He asked if I wanted any particular colors or just the first 12 that he could get. I told him that some with 'character' would be nice. He scooped up some of the gold/white/black ones for us. The 4 year old was getting very excited about this and counting them. The associate let him 'help' with the catching. They both held onto the net handle and the little guy got to turn the net over.. he was even more excited. He was allowed to catch the last four buy himself... wow! I'm sorry I didn't get the associate's name. He deserves the kudos. Then, there was 'David McGruff', the six foot tall dog. He was a friendly dog ;) . The little one had to give him a hug and a kiss, pet him and shake his hand before we left. He was with Sammie's Friends who's volunteers were there with some adoptable dogs that were so sweet. The experience was worth every penny spent, even if we didn't buy the assorted products. read more
