We never have problems with our shopping here. Everything is always a pleasant atmosphere. Our dogs like to shop so we take them to their local shops for some leisure time. The only bad part is none of these stores have a dressing room in there clothing department. In there food section its a must to have some samples here for them... management should also let the salon know to lower there prices some on grooming etc. My dogs haircut is way more pricey than my haircut at Great Clips! This review is about the Dr. Vincent and the staff at Banfield pet hospital located inside PetSmart. I took my cat in who is an obese inside cat. She gets matted because she cant not groom her back. I was told by other vets that I needed to get her sedated and shaved. Dr. Vincent did make her comfortable with sedation however he did not have to shave her. He combed out her matted hair. The staff at this location is great. Dr. Vincent went out of his way to show me how to better maintain her back. I was embarrassed at her condition because I felt it was a reflection of how bad I am as a pet owner. Dr. Vincent made me feel like I am not the only one and he showed me quick ways to maintain her grooming. Thanks you! read more

Our ROCK.... he loves his toys!! Yesterday Anthony Guey-Mock took our baby to buy him a new toy. Anthony was shocked to how everyone in Petsmart acted towards Rock. Picking up their dogs like if our Rock was going to suddenly attack them. I would just like to thank the employee Veronica and another fellow shopper who made our Rock feel welcomed. Pits get a horrible reputation and are truely discriminated against. Our Rock is the most amazing 6 month old puppy you'll ever come in contact with. I stopped coming here when the girl who usually grooms my dog left. Service was so-so and I always felt like I was overpaying. Another one of the ladies also said my dog was always snippy and recommended I enroll him in their obedience classes. I was kind of embarrassed and I haven't returned here for grooming since I started taking my dog to Fur and Feathers Millcreek. They're much sweeter to my dog (and me) and they don't charge me an arm and a leg. read more

Poor customer service. I waited 2 months for an appointment and it was cancelled. Ok fine things happen, so I was rescheduled for about 3 weeks out. I get a message to confirm my appointment so I call back to confirm and was told oh no we have to reschedule. I asked to speak to the manager and he was very unapologetic about the situation. No kind of apology, NOTHING. I will definitely be taking my business else where. Wish there was a minus start rating. read more

Terrible terrible terrible customer service. The girl at checkout with bright red pig tails and bows in her hair (are we 7?) charged us double for our bag of Blue Wilderness. It's a $65 dollar bag. So no kidding I was surprised when our total $156 for what was supposed to be 1 bag, a $13 bag of pig ears and 4 tennis balls... When I questioned her, she added everything up in front of me out loud and I got a "yup that's right" ....Wait, can you count? So the manager came over and corrected the problem on our card. Grooming department really disappointed last trip. I told them my dogs were recently adopted and they didn't mention them needing two weeks before service. I also mentioned my dog had a sore toe. Could hear her yelping throughout the store. When I came up to pay, one of the workers said that my dog was so upset she'd bit her tongue and then they realized she'd just been spayed and that's when they said I needed to wait two weeks. Very disappointed, and really...does anyone in the store or grooming department have any training? Everyone looks under 20. read more

First of all, I want to say most of the staff is incredibly helpful, we were taking care of a stray cat and two of the employees suggested great food and also other things to help the little kitten out. Now we had to stop going to this location before, it was when we first moved to bakersfield and needed to take our dog in to get his stomach checked. The second check up he got several ticks. They denied denied and denied that he got if from them. But then later after I emailed corporate their rep said it was possible he did get it yet she refused to admit he did actually get it from their location. (I assume it was a legal precaution). However they did give me some tick and flea medication and offered to do a free lyme test (it was free anyways since he was on their plan) I didn't take him to do so. I didn't want to take any of my dogs to that location again. I have long gotten over the headache, and would go over to this petsmart to pick up some dog goodies. My God- there is an older women, she seems to be a food brand rep who is very persistent and follows us around. She is always there. It happened one time and then it happened again when we were getting some kitten goodies. It was so uncomfortable and just made me never want to shop there again. I don't appreciate it and I can't believe we are the only ones she follows and pushes her way into a private conversation about whether or not we want to buy something. In all honesty, there is a vet who is super amazing and I hardly see him now. Usually it's the doctor everyone dislikes. I had to put my foot down to make sure EVERYTHING they do or anything they plan is told to me in detail. Don't let this guy's yank you chain, be persistent be smart and don't let them scare you into dowsing you dog in a cocktail of vaccines. Your babies only need three types of shots- DHPP, BORD, and rabies. Those are the mandatory shots for any place your dog stays, also grooming. Don't okay the lyme! They scare you into thinking it's possible. Your dog will be out of it for days after the Booster. And sometimes they get even more sick. DO YOUR RESEARCH. IT'S OKAY TO WAIT TO MAKE A DECISION. read more

An update on my visit 9/28/2014. Its been a while, that same day Dr.Chao tested my puppy molly for Parvo and he said it was negative. He didn't know what the issue was. I left with no help just a bill. I ended up taking Molly to Bakersfield Veterinary hospital that night and the Dr. told me she had severe Parvo, that Dr. Chao must have not done a test because she was definitely positive. Needless to say I left molly that night and she did not make it. Possibly if Dr. Chao would have not lied on the tests molly would still be alive. Please do not waste your time going to that location! Waste of time and money. read more

I visited this location for a day of pampering. The groomers are really nice. One of them called me "hateful" because I bit her, but I was just playing with her! Would I do it again? Probably. Another groomer made me wear the cone of shame, but after what I told you about the first groomer, I'm sure you can understand why. She gave me an A+ after my visit and mommy was happy. I was placed on hold twice with the grooming salon for over 5 minutes to schedule an appointment for my dog. They have cut her twice and not told me and most recently did not tell me about her bottom having a ruptured anal gland until I brought her home and notice the irritation. They have always been nice when I have went but I am taking my business to Stars fancy paws on Columbus. They are half the price and much more caring with the animals. read more

Having recently rescued my 7 year old golden retriever, I was glad to have an established relationship with this Pet Smart grooming staff, as they had done great with my recently passed Wheaton Terrier. The first time was great. Last Tuesday, my beautiful girl was shaking and they had butchered her hair beyond reason . My son had taken her and brought her home, we have been trying to contact them as this was unbelievably bad and she needs the hair out of her nails. Tomorrow will be a week, since this happened. Today my son went to the other Pet Smart in town and received numbers to call, none of which had been given to him from the people on Oswell. PLEASE PEOPLE. . REALIZE DOG GROOMERS AREN'T CERTIFIED NOR ARE THEY LICENSED. . ANYONE COULD BE DOING YOUR DOG, The excuse for Blanca was Ashley was sooo busy she had 8 dogs. . .Our appointment made a week in advance was with AJ. I went into this store a couple nights ago. There is a very very helpful employee named, Tiffany. She has terrific knowledge about the fish, aquariums, you name it-she was so on top of everything. She can juggle things very well. She's so nice and helpful! She went out of her way for my boyfriend and I on the questions we had about the different types of fish, dwarf frogs, upkeep, the list goes on and on. She really cares about the customers and I knew within 2 minutes into the conversation that she cared and was going to go out of her way. If I was her manager she would be given promotions frequently. Goes beyond the call of duty. Thank you Pet Smart. I really prefer this location as oppose to the other one. THANK YOU Tiffany.
