Avoid this PetSmart at all costs. We went to get some fish for my son. The lady told us to have the tank set up and run for a bit before adding fish. We didn't have an issue with that. When we went back to the store to finally purchase fish, they refused to sell us fish saying they needed us to bring in a picture of the tank and a water sample so they could test it. If we were looking for a fancy / hard to care for fish I could maybe understand all the hoops to jump through however we were looking to buy the cheaper fish for my son. When speaking to the manager she was very unprofessional and shrugged like she didn't care that we had done what they asked. We ended up going to a different place, explained the situation to them and they had no issue selling us fish. read more

Realized late on a Saturday that we were out of dog food (the kiddo, who feeds our dogs, forgot to mention we were getting low!) and our usual local biz where we typically purchase our dog food was closed. Ooof! Ran here to get a bag of Authority (a brand the pupp-os have had before and tolerate well). It's not the biggest PetSmart I've shopped in, but it seems to have everything you would need for pet care. Consistent with my experience at other PetSmart locations, it's well organized and sparkling clean. We went during COVID19 and the workers were all wearing masks, social distancing is encouraged, and they have a plexiglass shields at all checkout stands. Their prices are reasonable (we get large bag of grain free Authority which, with our PetSmart perks card, is less than $40). The service was friendly and efficient. Bonus? I spied a nice selection of Halloween costumes while I was there. I'm looking forward to coming back and checking it out! Get to it! read more

This location is notorious for poor customer service. As an example, I called today and it rang in the grooming services room for more than 3 minutes with no answer. When someone did finally answer it was the store manager and she said she would get the groomers on the line. I waited 5 minutes. Then she cam back and said the groomers were busy, could I call back in 5-10 minutes. To me this level of customer service is not acceptable. I asked to speak to her manager and she said I would wed to call back later when the manager was there. Again, what about taking a message and having them call me. This is not the first time I've had poor service there. read more

I will never go to another PetSmart again for any of our pets needs expecially the location in Brookfield, WI. We have taken our dogs to the groomer there for several years. Today I didn't pick my dogs up in time and was charged an extra $20 for not doing so. I didn't receive a call letting me know they were ready until later in the day at which time I immediately left to pick them up. I was handed an additional bill once I arrived. I questioned the bill and said I never received a call until later in the afternoon. The groomer then told me that yes she had called earlier and the call was cut off and she never left me a message. So I had no clue I needed to pick them up. I showed her on my phone I hadn't received a call until the later one. Well needless to say that's the last $20 they will receive from our family. Tonight, we had to euthanize a precious cat because of the carelessness of Winnebago County Animal Services and PetSmart. Less than 2 weeks ago; I fell in love with a cat when I went to PetSmart for cat food for our other cat. We adopted him and bought him lots of goodies to make him feel at home in our apartment. The past few days, he's been acting weird and today I noticed he was breathing weird so I took him to the animal hospital. Within a few hours, I found out he has been sick for a while, with a lung tumor, feline aids, and heart worms disease. Not only did this poor baby suffer at the hands of ignorant humans, but now my other cat could have also been infected with a deadly illness. I have also been a huge supporter of animal shelters. I've also heard the horror stories people have from buying pets at PetSmart. My $40 adoption fee was not worth putting a cat through pain like you did. also, don't adopt their pets from Winnebago. read more

PetSmart is hands down the cleanest, best managed, fair priced big box pet store in Brookfield! The first thing I noticed about PS was the lack of gross animal stink that I've come to expect at pet stores. At first, I wasn't sure they even had animals there because it smelled like a department store instead of rancid dog food. I don't know how they keep it so clean, but kudos to their janitorial crew. At my most recent visit, I was purchasing some supplies for our new baby tortoise. I did a lot of research and compared prices with the other stores in the area. The online PS prices were the best I'd seen. When I got to the store, the brick and mortar sales and prices were different. The great news is that they price match, so I paid exactly what I anticipated. The manager was busy walking around the store assisting customers and was even able to provide me with some additional information and an informative handout on the particular breed of tortoise we have. He also rang up my purchase to make sure I got correct prices. Another great feature is their rewards program. I signed up online and received points towards freebies and discounts. Points are accrued by both online and in-store purchases, so they add up quickly. Even better, subscribing to delivery items saves 5%, which is convenient and a good way to save without the hassle of cutting coupons or driving around town when sales arise. This use to be my go to pet store but they are starting to let me down. This was the one place I could get my specific pet food made by a specific company that I can't readily find at other places. The staff is always helpful and I have never had a problem and they go out of the way to let me plug in electric items for review before buying them. Well for the second or third time now they have been out of my specific pet food and that's why I have been taking the drive way out of my area to get it. I specifically called them a long time ago to see if they carry my specific food and I was told that they do and its always in stock but that's not the case. I ended up getting a different variety of the high quality pet food by the same company but I was let down again. I hope my pet won't reject a completely different flavor food. Dawn the pet stylist = THE BEST!!!! She loves our Milly girl!!! Milly is a *hyper* bull-boxer and Dawn works well with her. Milly's nails are always beautifully trimmed and rounded! They use a Dremel tool to make sure there are no sharp edges. $20 for a nail trim is worth it!! Milly is always excited to go, gets her nails looking beautiful and is always happy to leave, too. Booked a grooming appointment over a month in advance, was rescheduled due to employee family emergency and offered a 20% discount for my inconvenience. 24 hours later I'm called to be rescheduled again due to over booked day. When I explained I was already rescheduled once, I was told yeah we understand it's frustrating but we're having problems here too. Yes, I was offered another appointment day and time sooner, smack dab in the middle of my work day, yes, some people still work at an actual brick and mortar, not a kitchen table! I take my Jack Russel mix in every few months now for the Furminator package and it does wonders for his shedding. 5 stars for the grooming salon but the store itself can be a little on the pricey side so I'm taking it down a notch. Back to what's good. The grooming salon. This is one of the very few places in town that will take cats. We have a long haired, Himalayan Persian cat and bring him approximately every 6wks for a spa day. Everyone in the department that we've talked/met with has been wonderful but Dawn is our go-to for cats and she is awesome. She treats our little guy with such care and passion. He always, always - comes home looking fantastic and honestly, I think he feels great too. You know when your pet is feeling embarrassed or proud and our guy loves to strut his stuff when back from his spa day. Dawn is a treasure. read more

I had come her before and had a great experience once. However, i took my 3 pound puppy to have her hair trimmed today. She ends up coming home with bloody paws. They did not acknowledge or notify me of this at the time of picking her up. Extremely unprofessional. I called to let them know and it seemed as though they could not care less. Also i was informed it took 3 hours for a hair cut. My 3 pound puppy was not done until 5 hours later. Bad customer service is an understatement. Would not recommend to anyone. read more

We had a terrible experience getting our puppy's nails trimmed last night. The leash around her neck was inclined too high and she started choking. Then the workers were very unprofessional when they were trying to clip her nails. They were bending her paws in ways that were clearly hurting her. I've never seen our puppy so upset. After minutes of yelping, she was so upset that her mouth was getting foamy and she wanted to bite the workers. Our dog is well-behaved for her age and we even attend puppy classes at the store. This never should have happened and now I still have to take her to another groomer because her nails are still sharp. We will never be using PetSmart grooming services again. I'm mad that she'll now be traumatized when she gets her nails trimmed. read more

Porkchop needed a pawdicure so as usual, I headed to Petsmart to get it taken care of. Their grooming salon is always hoppin with cute little (or big!) furballs, and the staff is always nice. They offer a large variety of grooming services, even for pups who shed. A simple nail trim (Choppy's nails are black, so I get nervous about hitting her kwik) is $9, $12 if you want them to use the dremel and smooth them out, but Chops digs so I don't overindulge. This simple procedure is walk-in and has never taken even 10 minutes. The one complaint I had was the "Furminator" service that I got her. She is a Bordeagle (Border Collie / Beagle), so she sheds like nobody's business. This $50 service boasts non-shedding shampoo, blow-out and a LONG brush out with the furminator brush. I picked her up and noticed zero difference. I have the furminator brush at home and notice more of a difference when I do it myself, so I sensed someone rushed through the service. While I wouldn't return for the grooming, the nail service is quick and efficient, the staff is friendly and the product selection is large. read more

This is one of the grosses place to take my dog to. Employees were mad at the dogs they were working on and couldn't keep this professional when someone new walked in the salon. I had to go to the back to pick up my dog Because nobody was able to control him. When I went back there it was all wet and smelt like old pee. When looking in the kennels there were dirt and stains all over them. Wet dog hair everywhere!! The blue leads choke the dogs so much that it is very bad! I will not be taking my dog here again and I really hope people notice this next time they walk into PetSmart grooming salon! read more

I took my dog, Lola, here yesterday for a bath, ear clean and nail clip. I typically bathe her myself or go to a self service wash but am in town from CO and couldn't find any nearby. I was so happy with the outcome and Lola seemed to be well taken care of. Morgan, her stylist, was so thorough and friendly. I wasn't rushed in or out. So I just went to the store and was in there for 15 minutes looking at cat food. no one offered to help everyone was busy having conversations with other employees. when it was time for me to check out I was bumped in line so an employee could check out her items and I accidentally left my wallet on the console. The checkout girl then offered a "free wallet" to her fellow employee trying to be funny. She also would not give me the friends and family discount without signing up for the rewards program. Love this Petsmart! We took the puppy and intermediate classes with Jennifer and loved them! Our puppy learned a lot, but more importantly we learned how to train him. PetSmart advertises curbside service for their grooming salon when you call, but when you arrive, it's a completely different story. Even though I had made an appointment a week in advance, and had prepaid by phone, when I arrived and called to say I was here for my dog's service (as I was told to do by an employee) I was informed the grooming salon was too busy to get my dog and "I should just come in." When I told her I did not want to come in she took a tone with me, stating that the salon was "very busy" despite the fact that I was there at my appointed time. When I went to the entry way and asked to speak to a manager, the young woman standing in front of me said she was the manager and the woman I had spoken with. She kept insisting that I could just walk in, despite the fact that I repeatedly told her I came specifically for the curbside service they had offered. There were other customers in the salon, and there was no way to social distance. I demanded a refund and went outside to wait. Another employee came out and said he was there to get my dog. I told him I no longer wanted to give them my business and demanded a refund, giving him my credit card. He shuffled back about 10 minutes later with the receipt, my card, and zero apologies. I told him that it might be a good idea for them to change their outgoing message for customers, as it is false advertising. I don't know why I even went to them in the first place as I prefer to shop local. I am infuriated that they could not accommodate me even though nothing up to the appointment led me to believe they didn't offer curbside service. I am no longer a Petsmart customer. I am calling them Petscam from this point on. read more

I used to go here ALL the time for my pets. Slowly the service and product line started to go downhill. They stated they were going to stop stocking our dogs food, but try "our brand" of dog food. The clerk actually followed me to my car till I told her I would try it. The staff seems extremely disinterested in helping or being on the floor. I've switched to Chewy for my pet needs. They are less expensive, have everything and anything I would need, and care. When my cat passed, they sent me flowers stating how sorry they were for my loss. Speaks volumes to me! There are two types of people in this world: You are either a PetSmart person, or a PetCo person. After our recent experiences, I am sure I am not a PetSmart person. We recently adopted a handsome male GSD and needed everything; cage, bed, bowls, etc..We were going to drop bank on this stuff, but no one here seemed interested in taking our money, I suppose that would have involved them paying attention to us or even *God forbid* offering to help! That's pretty much been my experience here in the past too. PetSmart is fine if you know what you are looking for, but if you need actual help, good luck! I do appreciate that they are always hosting adoption events, so that earns them the third star in my book. Other than that, to me they are just a "big-box" pet store with all the major brands (no Fromm's here), lots of dog toys, and cute outfits to dress them in. read more

I will never take my dog there ever again. They have groomers with no experience. The last time I took my dog there, they nicked my dog's tounge with the buzzer and he was bleeding a lot, they had to send him to an emergency vet. The manager tried to say it was my dogs fault by saying my dog licked the buzzer. My dog has been getting his haircut there for the past 2yrs, and he knows not to lick a buzzer. The groomer was a newby with little or no experience and nicked his tounge. When I went to pick up my dog, the groomer admitted that his tounge was sticking out while she was trimming his face and she nicked it when my dog pulled his tounge back. My husband and I recently moved to Wisconsin and started taking our dog to Petsmart to be groomed. We would take him once every 3 months to be groomed. I chose this location based off of the positive reviews. We have a Portuguese Water Dog. Portuguese Water Dogs love water- hence their name :) - so our dog has never had a problem going to the groomer because he knew it entailed water being involved. I was also led to believe (based off of the report cards that are given at pick up) that our dog was loving it there and was having no problems. This could not have been further from the truth. I was being lied to that my dog was doing fine. It is my personal opinion that they did this so that I would keep bringing him back so they could receive our money. I should have trusted my instincts and realized that when my dog started shaking upon entering the grooming salon, there was a problem going on. I should have known he was shaking because he was very scared. I should have also known that he was throwing up after his appointment because of how he was being mistreated. Not because he "drank the soapy water" which is what I was told by the staff when I called to report this. Our dog was being abused at this Petsmart grooming salon at it breaks my heart. We have now started going to Pampered Paws in Tosa and I cannot say enough positive things about Pampered Paws and their staff. They are working closely with us to get our dog adjusted back into going to get groomed and realizing that it is not going to be a traumatic experience him. They also have enlightened me to the fact that there are different levels in the quality of groomers. This is very evident after watching their staff interact with our dog vs the Petsmart staff. I was also shocked to find out that their grooming services are about $10 cheaper. They also will cut and file your dogs nails free of charge. You can also go back between your dogs grooming appointments and they will trim their nails for free. Petsmart charges for this. Both during the grooming appointment and if you go in between appointments. I believe it is $15 they charge. I write this to warn other pet owners of what is going on at this Petsmart location because I would not wish this experience on anyone. I guess I should also add that I was told the Salon Manager, Ali, was going to call us to address the issue that had come up with our dog. We have never received that call. I would assume this is because they really could care less about our experience because we are a very small fish to that large mega company. Support your local small business and check out Pampered Paws in Tosa :) We have now been three times and I literally cannot say enough positive things. read more

My dog comes out of Petsmart Grooming Salon looking gorgeous, smelling divine, and full of confidence. I arrived early to pick up my dog, and watched the groomers treat all of the animals with such care and affection. From a dog frightened to get his nails clipped, to a cat nervous to be surrounded by dogs, the groomers all showed concern for the animals well being. I appreciate that very much. read more

I've been taking my dog here for grooming for several years. The staff is normally nice and friendly. However, I believe new staff has been hired and some of the old staff are not around anymore; my dog loved Carly but Carly is no longer an employee at this location. Yesterday I took my dog in for his grooming appointment, when I made the appointment online, I requested Katy. When I went to pick him up, he was with someone named Dawn or Shawn. I noticed Katy in the area but she wasn't taking care of my dog. When I first walked into the building, I heard an animal crying loudly, as I turned to enter the grooming area I realized it was my dog. This Dawn/Shawn person was handling my small Shih Tzu dog too harshly. If a dog is crying and/or whining shouldn't that tell you they're in pain?!! Whatever she was doing, she wasn't going to stop until she saw me at the entrance of the grooming area. I asked what was going on and she told me everything was ok. She gave me my bill then tried to get me to leave the grooming area until she was done grinding my dogs nails but I decided to wait. As she continued grinding my dogs nails, my dog turned to look behind him where she was working on his nails; I guess this Dawn / Shawn was frustrated with my dog because she used the machine (with a collar around his neck) to pull his head down quickly and with a force that was unnecessary for a dog as small as my dog...but I'm sure she'll claim it was a mistake. Dawn/Shawn told me she had to take my dog to the back and blow him out (get excess hair off); while she was in the back, I asked a different employee for a PawReport they normally give with your bill, this report details everything that was done, bath, teeth-brushing, etc. The young lady replied, "yes but I don't think she made one." If a customer asks you for a report, shouldn't you make one for them?!! By this time, Dawn/Shawn came back with my dog and I left the grooming area very disappointed. I've never had such poor customer service at this location. I plan to write a letter to their corporate offices; management needs to know whats going on at this location. read more

I have a beautiful crowntail beta fish, 2 Cory cats, and 2 black mollies that are alive and well in my tanks right now from this place. I would be wary of the aquarium plants from the petsmart. Last time I went in there I saw some snails (the bad take over your tank kind) on the plants . The fish are healthy though and the food and equipment is fairly reasonably priced. read more

Don't use their grooming. Asked them not to shave my dog down and if they found mats I would rather use my mat cutter at home to remove. Asked for a puppy cut--some hair left on legs and trunk. My dog is completely shaved down. I went to pay and left the tip before my dog was brought out. Then she was on the floor behind the counter and when they lifted her up, honestly I was in shock. I am still in shock. I specifically asked him not to shave the dog down. Beware if you bring your dog here. She will look like a drowned rat. read more

I created a Yelp account just to write this review. I have allergies and find it difficult to wash and brush my dog. I brought him in wanting to start a standing appointment once a month so that he could get groomed. They shaved him down to his skin due to matting. Two days later I took him out to go to the bathroom and he was bleeding on his head, his paws, and his back. I accidentally called Petco and spoke to the manager who was sooooooo caring and wanted to do anything to help, I appreciated him listening to me as I cried. When I realized my mistake I called Petsmart and spoke to the grooming manager and simply said "Yeah, since he was matted that won't be covered." She also informed me that it was because of the matting that caused the bleeding, or maybe it was my dog scratching at the sensitive area, she couldn't say exactly. I was floored!!! There was no sympathy for what my dog or myself was going through and that was the damn point! I couldn't get off the phone fast enough. When I finished my call I had to call by the manager at Brookfield Petco and tearfully tell him I appreciate him just listening and treating me like a human being who is very hurt. He mentioned that I could set up a monthly grooming schedule with them so that I would not be in the position that I found myself today.
