I take my beagles here to get groomed by Mikey. He is wonderful--fantastic customer service, very kind to my dogs, and attentive to their needs. They're easy dogs but come with a lot of previous trauma as they were previously lab beagles, so knowing that they're in good hands when I leave them is comforting. Been going to the grooming salon for years now. and never had such a horribe experience there before. occasional rude employees, but never this bad. lady was rude as soon as I got in. accused me of not answeing my phone, as they had the wrong one in the system. which is weird cause they call me when it's time to pick my dogs up. then she continued to give me attitude about the state of my dogs coat. hence the reason for the apt. it's been awhile since he's been groomed, due to life. But the attitude she gave me was not okay. Then continued to ask if my dog had allergies with the way he was breathing. told her it was his breed and he's breathed like that for the past 8 years of his life. she refused me service, and was not even apologetic about it. Made an appointment for my dog to get groomed ( he has been getting groomed for 6 years ever since he was 10 weeks old once a month.)The associate was late and told us to wait on the bench outside. After going over what I wanted done - my dog jumped up on the table- (he knows what to do since he has had this done once a month. Having an uneasy feeling when leaving - my husband and I went to breakfest. Now it's going on 2 and a half hours since I dropped him off- I get a call from petsmart telling me to pick my dog up . They said he was shaking and not listening. once I got to petsmart I asked to speake to the manager and explained that this NEVER happened before and it was out of character for my dog to behave like this. He and his RUDE employee kept making excuses and wouldn't make the situation right. So not only did my dog not get groomed but I was forced to pay full price for nothing. I am going to reach out to corporate and request to see the video from when my dog was in there. I believe my dog was mistreated or even hurt during his time at this place!!! Made an appointment with the grooming services, they told me the cat needed a rabies vaccine. I called twice once to find out they needed the vaccine and the second time to make the appointment. They never told me there was a 48 hour wait period between getting a vaccine and having the grooming appointment. I corralled my toddler and cat to the store just to find out I couldn't do the appointment because the cat had been vaccinated within 48 hours. They said it's policy and they couldn't help me. No service recovery, barely an apology, the manager was nasty. They told me to go somewhere else. Which is what everyone should do. The Banfield pet hospital killed my old cat because they didn't do follow up diagnosis and treatment after cancer removal. Just stay away. They can't do their jobs right. read more

I went to get my dog's nails trimmed and grind today as I usually do every 2-3 weeks. I have never had trouble with them and my dog is very easy going with everyone he meets. Today after the service Carla complained about my dog biting her "aggressively " and told me to take him somewhere else and they do not want to serve him anymore. I apologized but my dog has never bitten anyone and he lives with small children. Also, he was bleeding from his nails and they were poorly done. They must have hurt him so that he would have taken the action of biting her as she claims. They were very rude and refused to service a chihuahua whose bite could not have been that extreme and exaggerated. read more

I bought a hamster ( dwarf robo hamster) from this petsmart on March 1st 2024 and he is currently deceased. I woke up to diarrhea and was under his bedding limp and not moving . I'm very Gladly to give this store ONE star. Because I came there to get an item for my bettas. As soon as I saw this poor female betta that look in very bad shape. She was in a tank full of neon tetras! Like literally 50 neon tetras with one betta. It's too crowded for her. Her fin's ruined and rotten! I couldn't leave her like this. I asked a worker nicely to get a manager. So I want to ask him if I could rescue her for free or something like that. So I could get her back to health! The worker agreed and go get him. I've been waiting for like 15 mins. The other worker (male) he came to me and talking to me. (I am Deaf.) I am "well" lip reader. He was talk too fast for me to understand. I repeat told him that I am deaf. Somehow he doesn't understand. (I didn't Know he's a manager! I thought he was just worker) I told him that I'm waiting for a manager like 10 times. But he keeps saying "you need help? You want this betta? Yes or no? Blah blah blah " he never said he's manager. As soon as I told him I'm waiting for a manager. He got mad and walk away disrespectfully. Like he had ZERO experienced with deaf people... I asked to the other worker where's the manager. She told me that "the man you just talked to is the manager" and I was like oh okay. He should've told me he's the manager in the first place. I asked her nicely if she could get him back to me. She called him. Then after that she told me "oh he said he's closing the store" like wtf? Is he trying not to let me to get this poor injured betta? Hell no I'm not leaving her like this! I kinda argue with her. I'm fighting for this little things life! Finally I decided to pay for this better I took her with me! I'm currently nursing her back to health. The Saturday after Thanksgiving you kind of expect people to be exhausted from Black Friday, which is why the stellar customer service I just received today from an associate named Donna, came as such a welcome surprise. I was there for a Petmate igloo shelter for my pig, a "pig-loo" if you will, and was a little flustered about the sale price versus the shelf price and how to ring up something I couldn't physically carry to the register (this thing is big enough for a St. Bernard). Donna was so nice and so friendly and so totally on the ball with helping me get the item, price match it to the online sale price, and take all my info accurately the first time for the loyalty program (which was needed to get the sale price). She walked to where the item was and scanned it, taking care to inform the other people in line what was happening when she stepped away from the register to help me with my purchase. Things like that go a long way because the worst feeling is being in a line and having the worker leave the register with no explanation. Everything about this was such an outstanding example of going the extra mile to make the experience as seamless and pleasant as possible, on a day when she could've have done the bare minimum and nobody would've blamed her. .... Never take your pet here for grooming. They can't follow a simple style request. The groomer and groomer manager there refused to take responsibility for screwing up my beautiful puppy's hair. They butchered his beard and eye brows. When I refused to pay the groomer manager said "it's only hair" I thought to myself, how is my poor dog gonna face his friends at the dog park. Went there earlier to just look around at the animals with my toddler. Came back outside and found my car had a flat tire. I didn't think I had a car jack, so I went back inside to ask if anyone had one. The store manager (I'm guessing) Jason, stopped what he was doing and came outside, checked under my spare tire and found a jack! Do not go to the Southpoint Petsmart for good customer service. Fish lady was rude and should work at a used sales car lot and the manager "Ryan" could care less about feedback on his employees. Took my son to pick out his first pet, a fish...I told her I had been reading on fish for 3 months and my son and I had narrowed down to some options, she kept on saying that 1 gallon tank couldn't even hold a few minnows. So I settled for a beta (have had them in the past)...took her advice and fish lady grabbed a beta and said that she had been eyeing "this one" and my little toddler was sold. I strongly feel she grabbed the most expensive one just for spite, that of course is debatable.No prices listed on the betas and I just thought okay, let's get the other things this fish will need. (later I was directed to the 6 tiered pricing of betas on the front aisle waaaay before you get to the aquariums) Tried talking my son into a blue and red one and she never mentioned the price differential. I also had to ask if the beta should have a heater, based off my reading they should and she then said oh yes. Yet the whole time she was being rude to me because I was just gonna get some minnows. She sold me a 20 dollar fish, spent 60 bucks and couldnt swap the fish because my son was in tears at me suggesting we had to. while this was going on she was observing this almost like she was getting a rise out of the situation. She was not kind and I followed up with the manager on the phone and I wasn't even able to discuss the whole situation. He was like yep that was the one he should have got...oh the 20 dollar beta when there are 6 tiers and she never mentioned they were tiered pricing. he said you could have switched it...I asked him if he had kids? And he laughed and said yeah. I said how was I going to switch a fish, his first pet, he already had a meltdown trying to. He didn't care. I didn't even tell him how she was rude initially. I told him I'd file an online complaint and he said that it would go right back to his site and they would call me in a couple weeks, essentially like, he doesn't care that maybe they should be more honest. Once again today I went to PetSmart Store #1505 in South Fredericksburg (9751 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Fredericksburg, VA 22407), and was blatantly discriminated against by a cashier and the store manager. I have lived in this area since 2012, and the South Fredericksburg store is closer to my home than the Central Park store. However, based on their callous disregard for basic human decency and lack of professional acumen, I refuse to patronize this location any longer, and perhaps all PetSmart locations. Nearly half a dozen times (including today) over the last many months, when I shop at the South Fredericksburg location and attempt to pay for my merchandise, after entering a checkout lane the cashier turns his/her lane light off, suggesting to me that s/he is closing. But, after I have changed lanes when this happens, most times the cashier in the first lane turns his/her lane light back on, thus allowing customers after me to enter his/her lane, and check out (many times before me after I have changed lanes). To a common person this suggests that the cashier acting in this fashion does not wish to ring up my purchase(s), and I deserve to know the business reason why. On 02/03/2018 the offender was the STORE MANAGER, and on 02/18/2018 after another cashier did the same thing, I spoke directly with the STORE MANAGER, who was quite rude and in no way apologetic for her associate's conduct. Thus, I believe the STORE MANAGER at the South Fredericksburg store is a blatant bigot, and condones similar conduct in her associates. No apology was given to me for today's experience, the 02/03/2018 experience, or the nearly half a dozen other times over the last 6 months this has occurred to me at this same store location, despite my making the STORE MANAGER aware of these experiences. For the record, per my 2016 and 2017 annual credit card statements, my 2018 credit card statement YTD; and my Petperks online account, below is an approximation of the amount of money I have spent at the South Fredericksburg Petsmart store location: 2016: $794.70 2017: $1,538.89 2018 (YTD): $337.50 TOTAL: $2,671.09 Mind you, I have lived in my current home since 2012, so with my annual credit card statements in hand, and/or PetPerks online account summaries more historical than 2016, I would be able to verify amounts much more than the above that I have spent at the South Fredericksburg PetSmart store. Too bad for this rude and lazy STORE MANAGER and her disappointing associates that they display such a lack of basic business acumen, and for this reason will be losing a valued customer. The STORE MANAGER and her equally rude sales associates should seek other employment, and customer service is clearly not their forte. read more

Went to cosner corner Petsmart to take advantage of National sale. Was told by the girls at the register that I needed to go home and print out a coupon that had been emailed to me. I had my boyfriend read the ad online and there was no mention that that was the way to do it I kept asking them to help me figure out why I need to go do that and my friends didn't tell me about that condition? They kept shaking her head they were not helpful they didn't care that I wanted to purchase six cases of cat food for my rescue at a discount it was the poorest customer service I've ever had ever in any Petsmart.when I got home I checked with my fellow rescuers they all told me I needed an app and they had used them that day and gotten a lot of food I will never go back to that store again read more

When you all called me to notify me that you would be closing at 5 today, Saturday & needed to cancel my appointment, I discussed with the person who called me that I would be fine with a nail grinding for my dog. I was told that she could be a walk in for that. I told the person who called that I would be in before 5 since I work this weekend. I got to your store at 4:25 & there was a note saying the salon was closed for the evening. Nobody was there & the manager didn't even know the grooming salon was closed. It took me 45 minutes to get to your store. A complementary grooming & nail trim is just not going to make up for the trouble I went through to get my dog to you before you closed... so disappointed in the grooming salon. Do not go to this location if you are expecting friendly customer service or if you don't fully understand their order online/pick up in store procedures. I made an online order last night. The store opened at 9am today. I called ahead this afternoon a bit before 2pm to see if my order was ready for pick up or not. The lady on the phone was looking up my order and asked if I received a confirmation email. I told her that I think so. Now to me a confirmation email is when you order something online and get a confirmation that your order went through. As she was still looking up my order and hadn't found it yet that would still be a reasonable assumption. Apparently that's NOT what it is but no one explained that to me. She found my order and told me it wasn't ready yet but it would be ready in ten minutes. I went in there at least 15 minutes later if not more. When I said I was there to pick up my order the cashier told someone I was there and it wasn't ready (I'm not sure her name but I think it was the "manager" taking over while the real manager was on break. She comes out looks at me from half way across the store sighs rudely and then rudely tells me well you aren't supposed to come in until you receive your confirmation email you'll have to wait and then she leaves. Didn't even come over to talk to me tell me how long it would be nothing. Just treated me very rudely. Now after talking to the store manager he says that sometimes the orders don't come through very fast on their system so that's why they ask to wait till you get the confirmation email. Ok but I wasn't told that when I called up to see if my order was ready. Had they told me that when I called and explained what they meant by a confirmation email or even NOT told me it be ready in ten min then I wouldn't have came in the store at 2pm to pick it up. They really should be more professional in the way they talk to and treat people. read more

If I could give this PetSmart less than one star I would!!!! I have never in my life been lied to or jerked around more than with this location. My advice to folks: DO NOT patronize this PetSmart. I have been trying to get my dog groomed for two weeks. The first appointment I made with them the groomer had an emergency and had to leave unexpectedly. Fine completely understandable. So I rescheduled the appointment for a Thursday night. I show up and realized I chose the wrong location and my appointment was in ten minutes and the other location wouldn't take him because the appointment was at 5:30pm and any later they wouldn't finish. Ok my bad but the other location would've taken him had I shown up at the correct place. Again I get that. My fault. But the key here is they would've taken him and cut his hair. That is key. Now for the being lied to and jerked around part. Because of my error I went ahead and scheduled and appointment for a Monday again at 5:30 at this location. I get a call we can't take your dog that late because of his size so you will have to reschedule. According to that person it is company policy they can't take big dogs that late but yet the other PetSmart was more than happy to take him. Hmm...so I said fine and I rescheduled online for first thing Sunday morning. I made the appointment and got through the process. I show up Sunday morning the groomer says we tried to call you twice yesterday (a big lie the only two calls I got yesterday were from Citibank and Paramount Builders). He continues the computer should've never allowed you to book the appointment because we've already got three big dogs and company policy says we can't take more for safety reasons he tried to rebook. He said how about a weeknight. I explained about the phone call and he said again company policy. Hmm....one PetSmart could take him one couldn't. How does that work for company policy? He then tried to offer me the following week but I told him to pound sand. Ironically I called another PetSmart just a bit further away and they were more than happy to take him at whatever time I wanted. They said they did not have a time restriction and there was no limit to the number of dogs they could take as long as they have a groomer. I also find it interesting that the only "computer glitch" is with that location. Never had any issues with the other locations contacting me or taking my dog. Never ever ever ever ever ever go to this PetSmart unless you like being jerked around. read more
