I went off of the two reviews I saw and noticed that both are over a year old so I figured this is an injustice to all yelpers. I've been here twice and both times I haven't been impressed what-so-ever. First off, shot records. I've brought there shot records three times. Once when I made the first appointment, then they asked if I could bring them when I brought my two pups in, then they asked when I picked them up cause they didn't input them in the system, then when I made another appointment the next month, they asked me to bring the shot records AGAIN! pricing.... I have two mini schnauzers in which I usually trim every 3-4 weeks. In hawaii, I was paying 45 dollars for a bath, degland, ear cleaning and grooming per pup. Here I was charged 60 dollars per dog! I have no problem paying it, if I was getting 60 dollars worth of customer service. There seems to always be a scheduling conflict in this place. I dropped my two mini schnauzers off at 11 am on the dot as requested and I was told three hours, which is even a little slower then my Hawaii groomer but I thought whatever. I was told they'd be ready at 300-330, which is 4 to 4.5 hours later. I stopped by at 330 and they then told me another hour and then I wasn't called until 5pm! 6 hours after I dropped them off! End result, if you have an entire day to waste and want to overpay for mediocre service at best, this is the best pet salon for you. However, I wouldn't recommend this pet salon to anyone. P.S. I have to share this. I have been going here since 2012, but over the last 6 months they haven't been so good. I wrote this to groomer after last appointment: "Justin, I am really disappointed in Brodee's groom and upset with how you handled the situation. I have thought about posting a negative review, but I have held back. Everyone that has seen Brodee since his grooming appointment is shocked at how bad it turned out. 1. Brodee actually cried when I went to pick him up, you heard him. 2. You cut him on his penis, he had dry blood on it. 3. He was nicked in various spots. 4. You shaved him so short below his ears by upper cheekbone that it looked pinkish raw 5. Because of that he has been constantly scratching it and it is now cut and bleeding. I am asking for a full refund and I will not be taking my babies there again. I am attaching pictures." I did not get a refund, I did not get an apology. They tried to put blame on me because my pet had some matting, but no amount of matting justifies why they needed to shave him down to his skin. read more

This place was great! I highly recommend. We are new to the area and recently lost one of our German Shepherds who we had for 12 years living side by side with our other German Shepherd. So needless to say our surviving dog is not only up in age (she is 14 years old) but she was also adjusting to life without her "buddy" for the first time in 12 years. This is a dog that is already anxious and nervous and had never been to a groomer (we always just bathed and brushed them ourselves at home). In light of everything, I wanted to get her a good bath and cleaned up and since the weather at the time was very cold and rainy I needed to find a groomer. SO... THIS PLACE WAS GREAT! They were great with her, they were gentle and kind and patient. They recommended a time for me to bring her in when there would not be a lot of other dogs there and they called me within two or three hours to let me know she would be ready in 20 minutes. Our dog looked great, and I think she felt good too... she is cleaned up and I swear she sheds A LOT less. Justin and Sarah were so friendly and sweet and I know they were to our dog also because she was wagging her tale and seemed totally at ease when we picked her up. I wish I had written this review earlier (our visit was about two weeks ago) because they certainly deserve all five stars. We will be back at the end of January and will make it a regular appointment because it was so worth it. Five stars all around!!! read more

Sadie has been going there since she was a pup. Justin takes great care of her and calls to let me know if further care needs to be taken of Sadie. It's a lengthy process for groomers, bathe them, blow them dry and then, cut their nails and fur. I'm glad he also notices if Sadie needs to rest if she's been on the table and seems stressed or tired. Justin is the best with Sadie!! read more

Our Stella, an English bulldog, loves it here. She's had grooming and nails, goes to doggy daycare once a week and has been boarded here and each experience has been thumbs up. She enjoys the freedom allowed to be free range and the outdoor playground. They have been wonderful to work with her feeding schedule needs while a puppy and she's always happy and excited for her visits. I would not recommend this place! After being erased from their computer system (after three visits) I gave them another chance. Loved it the first couple of times but when I went in this last time I will never go back. I have a 13lb dog and the owner was afraid to handle him. Told me that she didn't like my breed of dog because they bit her finger. Even though my gut told me to leave I left my dog with them for a grooming. When I came to pick hm up they did not cut his hair as I asked, or cut his nails and didn't pluck one of his ears. She said that he would let them. I was confused because the last couple of times he did great! Surprisingly she still charged me full price without a full service. read more

I can't imagine people giving this place a poor review. We've tried numerous groomers over the years, as our two pups have super separation anxiety. Every groomer we've ever brought them to before not only did a terrible job, the dogs would come home and spend the next to day with their tails ducked and ears down as if they'd been abused. We've been taking them to Sittin' Pretty for almost a year now, and the dogs actually seem excited to go. They come back perfectly groomed (we're still wondering how she gets one of them so fluffy) and wagging their tails as if they'd just been on a play-date. I don't know what they do different, but we won't take them anywhere else. Edit: Our pups are now long-term regulars at Sittin' Pretty, and they even have their own favorite groomer (Justin - he's amazing). Remember how I mentioned they actually seemed to enjoy going in? One of our dogs literally runs in and LEAPS into Justin's arms when we bring her in. And these are dogs that are scared to go to the park apparently for fear that we'll leave them there. So after three years, I can absolutely recommend Sittin' Pretty even more strongly than with my previous 5 star vote. Not only do they treat the dogs very well but the results are fantastic. (We particularly love what he does with the feet. Think: The bichon from Shrek. Friggen adorable.) read more

Customer service absolutely sucks at this place and to a point I wouldn't keep my dog there based on their attitude. If you look like me without disclosing, don't waste your time! I was a long time customer, until recently. I was charged for services not received and spoken to by the girl at the register condescendingly. I was very patient and I know my dog is large and difficult, not mean. But this was ridiculous. Nearly two hundred dollars and all day there, all he ended up receiving was a bath and a second bath that I was of course charged for. Then he peed all over himself as we were trying to check out (not a one of the three working there including the owner, offered to clean him up or spray him so he didn't smell like urine) while the girl went on and on about how hard he was on their backs because he is large and would not stand up on his own. Pardon me, but aren't you the professional pet groomer? Why are you going on and on to the customer complaining? I ended up taking him home, re bathing him and clipping his paws and nails myself. All of which they were supposed to do and I paid for. I have since found another groomer I take him to that never complains to me about him and performs all the grooming services requested for less than Sitting Pretty. I'm not sure what happened to them, but I will never take my pets there again. read more

This place is most definitely the worst place to take your dog for any type of grooming. I originally scheduled an appointment to have my dog shaved , not trimmed, and the gentleman I spoke to was aware of what I wanted. I warned him about the condition of my dog, being that shes old and has many undiagnosed bumps and lumps on her to be careful with her. He suggested I bring her in beforehand to "meet them" which was odd and I declined that offer because my dog always gets anxious going anywhere. I didn't want to put her through that twice. Because of this he said we couldn't do an appointment later in the day and it would have to be in the morning because it would take all day to do what I had requested. I rescheduled and I was unable to take her in myself because I had to be at work all day. I had my father pick her up and he was unaware of what I had asked for so he paid and even left a tip. I paid $100 total for what I thought would be her getting shaved as I normally do when I take her to the groomer. When I went in today to talk to the manager and she said the man I spoke to wasn't a groomer and that when you make an appointment over the phone you have to tell them again what you told them on the phone once you drop them off because usually the person on the phone is not a groomer. The man I spoke to however, was a groomer, and he didn't seem to have any memory of our phone call when I came in today. I told them why I came in today and immediately they were all annoyed at the fact that I told them they did not give me the service I had scheduled and requested. They were quick to dismiss the whole issue as not my problem because we already got paid. They didn't try to help or understand in the least and even told me they had other things they had to do today. As a paying customer its unbelievable to me how much they dont care about their customers. I cant help but wonder how this business still thrives with such terrible service and high prices. Definitely would not recommend to anyone in the area as there is plenty of other places you can go for better service and cheaper prices. Not to mention their trim or haircut they did on my dog was so minimal it looked like they didn't even cut her hair at all. read more

Sittin' Pretty (SP) will never, ever again groom or daycare our dogs. On the morning of September 1, 2017, I dropped our 3 Westies (Lilly, Wilson and Jasper) at SP. Lilly had been going to SP for grooming and daycare for over 9 years; Wilson for over 8 years; and Jasper for almost 5 years. We dropped them off because of a doctor's appointment in Baltimore. At about 10:30 am, I received a call from SP. They told me Jasper had been attacked by some of the other dogs at SP and that we needed to come get him. I told them that we were just outside of Baltimore and we couldn't get back very quickly. I gave them our vet's address and they agreed to drive Jasper to the vet's office. Quickly called my vet and she dropped everything to take Jasper in. My vet called just after we reached the doctor's office and told me Jasper's injuries were quite severe, but she didn't think we needed to immediately return to Stafford. Upon our return, I learned the vet had to totally shave him and put stitches in almost every area of his body except his stomach. She also had to put in 3 drain tubes. After Jasper was attacked, SP did not remove the dogs responsible for the attack on Jasper. And they did not segregate Wilson and Lilly from the other dogs after the attack. I know this because SP did have CCTV footage that showed the dogs in the daycare area with no human watching over them. In the morning, CCTV shows there only about 10 dogs other than my 3 Westies and that no person was outside observing them. The CCTV showed that Jasper was initially attacked by 2 large dogs at about 9:38 am. Most of the other big dogs joined in the attack. It's quite likely Jasper was laying (wounded, bleeding) for about an hour before SP found him. The vet told me it appeared that he had been attacked more than once over a period of time. Based on CCTV, at least 5 dogs viciously attacked our helpless 14-pound Lilly at about 2:30 pm. CCTV shows the SP owner (Kathy) trying to stop the attack within seconds of it starting. In only a minute's time, Lilly was disemboweled and her throat was slashed open. About 3:00 pm, I received a frantic call from my vet telling me that Lilly was attacked and she needed emergency surgery. I granted permission for surgery, and based on vet's recommendation, told the vet to DNR Lilly if she did not respond to surgery. SP (Kathy) did not call us about Lilly's attack until about 5:00 pm as we were fighting rush hour traffic to get home. She told us both our dogs were attacked by just 1 Huskie (this was proved wrong by CCTV). I asked why she didn't segregate Wilson and Lilly after Jasper's attack. Didn't get a response. Because my vet doesn't offer 24X7 care, I took Lilly and Jasper to Woodbridge Animal Hospital (WAH) for the night of September 1. Early on the morning of September 2, WAH called to tell me Lilly had died. However, Jasper was doing well and we picked him up that afternoon. Our hearts are broken. Many tears have been and will continue to be shed. SP did pay for all of the medical expenses (over $5000) incurred by Lilly and Jasper. read more
