Clerk was so sullen and rude. I had a coupon for free cat treats AND toy, but she charged me for the toy. She argued about it, made me go out to my car in the rain to get the items. She didn't seem to know how to give me a refund and was angry with me about it. I had to wait in line, twice, over the $1.60 I was owed. I told her she made me, the customer, feel crappy, that I was just expecting to get a discount her store was offering. She just glared at me and finally said I'd caused her line to back up and now she'd get in trouble. She could've simply said "I'm sorry". Not Jasmine, she countinued to glare. Nope. I live right next to petsmart and buy all my supplies here. Naturally, I wanted to get my dog groomed here. I called to make an appointment and get a quote on Saturday morning. The woman said she had no appointments till Tuesday, which was fine. I explained I had never been there, and her attitude turned on. She seemed beyond annoyed and told me I has to find his rabies papers, still, that was not a big deal. The woman then asked what type of dog I have, I said I have a 13 pound terrier mix. The woman continued to badger me about the breed although I explained several times he was from a shelter, we do not know his exact breed, and on his vet papers it says terrier mix. She was so insistent and rude that I told he I would go elsewhere. There were no apologies, and she hung up. This kind of customer service is no way to run a business, quite disappointing. read more

I've been in this store twice in the past four days and they have the worst customer service. No one asks if you need any help. Not one employee smiles. Not even one employee even looks up to see if a line is really long. Today I was in this store yet again on my way home from work (normally I go a different one). I was third person in line while the cashier began to help someone with a rug cleaner machine. Now normally if you have a line you would call someone up, she didn't even notice there was now 2 others behind me because she never once checked her line status or know that carpet cleaning machines take a little more time. Two other employees came and left the front end area near the registers. One to help the cashier with the carpet machine then left. Another was walking toward the front area near banfield and got stopped by a customer so he helped her but walked right by the other now 6 people in line, he didn't even look to see if there was a line. When a lady sat something on the counter because she couldn't hold it anymore she said to the lone female cashier oh wow there's a really long line. Finally the woman called for help and finally it was my turn to check out. Chris helped me but was very dry and I tried to tell him that this lady is trying to cut 4 other people by standing behind me. He ignored me. I mentioned it again that there's other people that have been waiting longer than this lady cutting in line. He didn't care. He didn't even acknowledge either time what I said. He just proceeded to ask me the frequent phone number, email or print receipt. It was SO disappointing the customer service this store lacks. I spend at least 300 a month at pet smart for my two dogs. I've been to many locations around the Sacramento Roseville areas and have never in my life had a more horrible experience than this pet smart. read more

i shop here occasionally, decided my pup (8 month old pitbull) needed her nails trimmed. brought her here. she was kinda freaked out by the grinder so she was squirmish. i shopped while she was in there. i picked her up everything was fine until we got home and noticed that her actual paw pad had a small cut and one of her nails were grinded down into the quick and was bleeding. she favored the paw for a day or two after that poor girl. what upset me the most is that they failed to even mention it to me. read more

I took my ridgeback in to get her nails trimmed. My dog is such a handful with the nail trimming process, she's always been finicky about her feet being touched. She is also extremely strong and wiggly. The young lady who trimmed her nails got them nice and short. There used to be a guy who worked at this location who could get them this short but he is gone. For a while the grooming staff hasn't done a great job, just sub-par. Today I am very pleased with the job and will be calling in the morning to let management know of my positive experience. I hope they don't let this girl go, she was patient with my bratty moose of a dog and did a great job. read more

I apsolutley love the grooming salon there. Ive been taking my dog there for a while and they always do an amazing job. Every groomer ive had there always makes my boy look great. This last time, i believe her name was maryann or somthing like that, she made my dog look fantastic and I can tell then all really care about the animals. Also there prices are better then any other salon ive been too. I got my boy a bath haircut his nails done and his ears cleaned for 45 dollars plus I always give them a 20 dollar tip. Anyway I would definitely reccomend this place. read more

This is a poor example of "dog trainers" that I have ever encountered! If you need help with your puppy or dog do some research on the internet within the area in which you live. There are many trainers with years of experience who are ethical kind and gentle with your pup and charge a lot less than Pet Smart. The so called trainers at this particular store are poorly trained and very rude. I would not trust them anywhere around any of my dogs. Run as fast as you can AWAY FAR AWAY from this Pet Smart. Both you and your dogs will greatly appreciate finding a good and honest trainer. Make sure that you observe any and all people who you allow to interact with your dog first then VERIFY what experience and training they have prior to enrolling in a program. Just because it is a store that sells dog food does NOT make them a good nor humane trainer. Besides no one should have to put up with nor deal with their arrogance rudeness and know it all attitude! Ask them what qualifies them to instruct and train besides a couple of classes that Pet Smart teaches their own want to be trainers. Always remember that your dog will love you and be loyal to you until his very last heartbeat so be picky with whom you entrust them to then enjoy your well behaved best friend. read more

I purchased one fish at PetSmart. A week later ALL of my beautiful fish (that I'd purchased at a real aquarium store) had ick and died. It came from the PetSmart fish. Don't get fish at PetSmart unless you want ALL of your fish to die. I should have known better when I saw at least three tanks there with dead fish in them. NEVER again. I'm done with PetSmart. They are the WORST. SHAME ON YOU PetSmart FOR SELLING SICK ANIMALS. read more

I took my dog there a couple days ago to get groomed and usually I have a really good experience. This time the girl was rude at the front desk and told me she didn't cut my dogs nails because he was too wiggly. If you can't handle a dog you are in the wrong job field. That's one of the reasons I take him in because I'm worried he will scratch my two year old daughter if they are too long. He was still wet and his ears weren't cleaned out. Waste of money and I won't be returning there. read more

I took my dog to the groomers at petsmart and paid $57.00 for a bath, ear cleaning, nail trimming, and a 20 minute brushing. It took 2 hours for everything to be completed. When I picked up my dog her nails didn't even look trimmed and they were extremely sharp. I asked why and was told they did trim the nails but some of her nails just can't be trimmed any further and then they said they don't file the nails to smooth them out unless you pay extra for it. I would figure that when you cut nails you would file them, just like you would for a human. As a human when your nails are cut you don't want to go around scratching everyone so they are filed down. I am extremely displeased with the service and the way they handled things when I asked about the nails. They didn't even offer to file her nails and ask if I wanted to pay the extra amount; they just said sorry. I am not sure if I will ever take her back to the Petsmart on Sunrise Blvd again. read more

The Banfield Vet at this Petsmart is the best. I had an emergency with my 4 month old dog, who had an allergic reaction to his second set of puppy shots. He had a huge lump on his neck, so I was freaking out!!! It was 6pm on a Saturday and this was the only place that was open. They were super friendly and took my dog in right away. The vet tech came in and checked his vitals, and also let me know that since it was my first vet visit with my puppy, it would be free!!! All I had to pay for was the medication!! My puppy was in great shape soon after I left the vet, and I only had to spend $40 for the meds. The staff there is great, and I highly recommend! read more

I can't stand this place they're always running out of my cats food. It doesn't matter if it's prescription or regular food they're always running out. And the people that work here are totally unhelpful and super inefficient. Also everything is totally overpriced. An example is they have food bowls for $8 that you can buy at the dollar store down the street. I'm Buying everything online from now on just to avoid having to go in here. read more

Not the best. Not the worst either. I feel like the employees could be a bit more knowledgeable and friendly. Don't get me wrong, a lot of them are really helpful. But when I would go to get some fish, the bettas looked a bit depressed in their blue-colored water, and anyone standing by the podium didn't seem to have much personality going on. And I've had to correct someone telling a customer wrong information. They could just use more education and training on customer service. read more

I took my dog in to get groomed the other day. I made a morning appointment on the phone since my dog gets nervous. When I showed up they said they couldn't find the reservation so my nervous dog sat at Petsmart for over 6 hours till they finally got to him. The first woman did not know how to handle nervous pets and made him more agitated. When we finally picked him up his ears were two different lengths, his nails were still very sharp and some were long. An hour or so later I noticed that my dog's skin was bright red and bleeding. I don't know what they bathed him in but it doubt it was the oatmeal bath I paid for. Needless to say I will never take my dog back here to get groomed. Now I have to go to the vet and figure out how to make his skin feel better. He has been groomed before and never had such reactions. read more

DO NOT let them groom your dog. They have no idea what they are doing. Love the dog trainer (Donna is the best) but will never use the grooming salon again. They are hiring inexperienced people who have no idea how to groom a dog and then they tell you all kinds of bulls**t about needing a conditioner becuase of matting etc. When I picked up our Labradoodle puppy, they had completely shaved his head (unnecessary) and worse yet, shaved off all of his whiskers! His ears were uneven and his back paws weren't clipped. Really, really bad. Never again. read more

I don't ever write reviews but I had to because of how AMAZING they are here. I've been bringing my dog her for years and have always been happy. My dog is not the easiest dog to work with but they are always sweet and caring with him and he always look great. The one thing is that they do get pretty busy but It's not a problem for me. We got a new puppy 8 months ago and knew very little about training a dog. So, we decided to sign up for the six-week Puppy Obedience Training course with Donna Canterberry. We went on to complete the Intermediate and Advanced courses with Donna as well. We are happy to report that we have a great dog now. In fact, he just passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. We can't thank Donna enough for all of her help along the way. She is a terrific trainer, patient and knowledgeable. She has a great calm yet authoritative way about her. It was easy to tell in every training class how much she loves working with dogs. Anytime we struggled with teaching our dog a certain skill, Donna would demonstrate what to do. Seeing her ability to get our dog to perform the skill, gave us the confidence that we could do it too. We would highly recommend her to anyone considering taking an obedience course. read more
