After walking in I was immediately greeted by a very friendly and knowledgeable employee who helped me find exactly what I was looking for -- I said rawhides when what I really meant was Bully Sticks. :) I spent around $45 on a nice assortment of dog treats (they have a very large variety including a multitude of small training type treats), a bully stick ring, and Tibetan dog chew. Who knew?! I believe the front half of the store is dedicated to dog items, middle of the store for cats, and then at the very back of the store in kind of a separate room is the food. Had I not just bought my dog's food, I would have looked to see if they carry his brand. I did notice they they carry a large selection of FROMM foods, which I've always been a fan of. They had a cute table of gourmet dog treats that you could use to create your own mixed assortment. Might try this next time. If you need a funny greeting card, look no further. They carry the Avanti brand, which is my all-time favorite. They offer some harder to find subject matters like pet-loss, pet-sitting, etc. Prices are more than fair. Everything I bought could be found online, but at more expensive prices. Excellent customer service. Conveniently located in a strip mall with UPS and my favorite Chinese restaurant in IC. Plenty of parking.

Bounding Hound is the absolute best training facility/daycare!! It doesn't have the atmosphere of…read moreconstant chaos like some daycares; they train the dogs to modify behavior during their stay to create a more controlled and safe environment. For example, they train the dogs to calm down after the doorbell rings when you go to pick up your dog. The dogs still get to play and have fun, but things never get out of control or too loud! My dog is always so excited to walk in when I drop her off! And while she's gone I get picture and video updates of her stay, and, sometimes, they even send her home with a goody bag. Another unique feature- someone is always there even for overnight stays (no unsupervised kenneling overnight!). BH also offers grooming. My dog used to have anxiety about being groomed from a previous bad experience. Loren had the patience to work with her and, over time, got her to the point where not only was she not afraid, but he didn't even need to use any of the usual restraints that most groomers always use. I am so grateful to have had this daycare for my dog, and I will miss them a lot now that I have to move away from IC. Once Loren heard I was moving, he even offered to help me find a new facility for my dog in our new city. He took the time to call other facilities and let me know which he thought was best. This really shows how much he cares about me and my dog even after we no longer will be regular clients for BH. BH really goes above and beyond to help your dog develop good behaviors and give them a safe and fun environment for their stays!

My son and his wife got Daisy a few months ago. She had been through a lot, and had a lot of anxiety. They adopted her at the beginning of shelter-in-place during the pandemic. This was great, because it helped Daisy to spend lots of time with her pack (and extended pack!). They are both back to work and faced a huge decision--leave her home alone (which she didn't tolerate well at all) or consider a doggy day care option. We found Bounding Hounds and I can unequivocally say that you can't find a better place for your dog. They are all incredibly knowledgeable and they care about YOUR dog. The owner, Loren, is incredible. After her second day, he spent time talking to us about how to work with her at home to reinforce some of what they have been doing with her. I am a psychologist--his recommendations were so spot on. Here is the kicker--remember, this dog is a "nervous Nellie"--when we dropped her off, as soon as they opened the gate, she SPRINTED off and never looked back! She was so happy to see us--but at the same time, tried to follow Loren back inside. The fact that she is so happy there speaks VOLUMES to me. Finding a place for your dog is like taking your child to daycare---it is so hard to do. Talk to them. These guys are incredible. You won't regret it!

In that initial phone call Chelsey gave me SO much useful information, was reassuring and more importantly, validating my feelings in all of the experiences I had. Chelsey happened to have a black german shepherd that she just found out she was not going to be able to breed because of missing molars (which is NOT the german shepherd standard but we LOVE an ethical breeder). She sent me pics and the rest is history. Whoopi and I bonded for a couple months before her service dog boarding (which I called college). During our bonding time, chelsey was extremely helpful and reassuring. I was able to reach out and schedule time to meet to go over issues I was having. The homework idea is genius, I cannot believe how wrong I was about so many training methods and I felt so ready. While whoopi was boarded for service animal school I re-did the homework all over again just so I would be ready. I'm so glad I did, it made the transition to bringing her back home and into my job so easy. Whoopi has now graduated college and is so pumped to make so many new friends. I'm so thankful for all of the time, love, and energy Chelsey (and her family) have made into giving me the best thing that has ever happened to me.

He was…read moresuper reactive on the leash, with the doorbell, and anything he saw out the window of our home. Chelsey changed all of that. Our dog did the 8-week training program at Knallhart and came home calm and well-behaved and not anxious. He is no longer reactive on the leash and can stay in place when someone rings the doorbell and comes inside to visit. Such a game changer!! Knallhart is saving the lives of dogs and we are so thankful!! Highly recommend!!

The primary trainer, Mandy, has been a valuable resource and has taught some great basic obedience techniques through positive reinforcement. She has also helped us understand the dog's behaviors and body language as we work with him. Two of our eight sessions were led by a substitute that I didn't feel was as effective of an instructor. Otherwise, these sessions have been very helpful and have set a great foundation for us to build upon.

I was given the opportunity to try a lesson to ensure I felt comfortable. I must admit I was blown away, not only by the companies generosity and flexibility during these unprecedented times, but also by how effective that first lesson was. Kate, our instructor, gave clear concise directions, watched remotely and helped me understand how to effectively implement the strategy, and even utilized several minutes at the end of the course to answer specific questions unique to our puppy. We have been practicing outside of the classes to reinforce the desired behaviors and I cannot believe how effective the technique is with minimal effort other than repetition. Even through COVID…read morequarantine, we not-so-patiently waited; huge thank you to Sue for fielding my questions when I thought isolating with a puppy would be the death of one of the two of us. So when a social-distance class opened, i was excited to try it. Social-distance/online dog lessons may sound like they wouldn't work, but I definitely recommend it. We were late once because my dog refused to listen to me and leave the park for over an hour, but Judy and Sue gave me direction on things to try. It dramatically changed how he and I interact. If even my stubborn and opinionated dog can learn "down," "stay," and "come" through online classes, I'm sure yours can too.
