Brought my puppy in here for her second groom. The first time was great, they didn't upsell me (price was 45$ like they said when I arrived). I forgot the groomers name but she was so sweet and asked if I wanted the teddy bear cut which leaves the face and paws fluffy, which the groomer did and my pup looked great. Also her nails were trimmed. This time I booked with Amanda. The person who helped me when I arrived wasn't Amanda and asked if I wanted to have nail filing , I said sure if it's included (there was never a mention of an additional price). I also mentioned I wanted my pup to have the teddy bear cut to which the young lady said okay (assuming she knew what it was and would tell the groomer). When I picked her up 4 HOURS LATER (last time it was 2), they charged me an extra 25$ on top of the 45$ for the groom. I said I never agreed to that price. The manager thankfully removed the charge. But what's worse is my dog didn't have the teddy bear cut. As a matter of fact, she was just buzzed all the way around, including her face, like if no effort was made to attempt the teddy bear cut. Her nails are also still long, filled at the tips but not cut down. I was already in a hurry and didn't feel like complaining at that time and wanted to get out of there. But I'll never be going back. I'll be trying petco in South Gate next time. Definitely do your research before taking your pup here. read more

I have a 8m Maltipoo. took my puppy-for a bath, brush, and a light trim with a bear face and when i came back my dog was completely unrecognizable. they shave off all his hair and left the tail furry. I was livid because before i left ALBERTO said it was only matted BEHIND HIS EARS which is normal. So i was completely furious to see they shaved my puppy bald. Then the biggest guy in there comments and says " it's actually good for the dog because it's getting hot". how fucking inconsiderate after he sees i'm upset. I asked him if he was able to cut them and he said yeah.. so when we get home i set him down and his paw was all bloody!! one of his nails was gone.. i rushed back and they didn't know what to do.. i ended up going to the emergency room & paid 400 to get his nail wrapped.. i filed a complaint and l petsmart is saying they don't want to cover the vet bill bc when we left his paw wasn't bleeding.. but my dogs nail is missing right after i get them cut?? makes no sense.. It's truly heartbreaking & disturbing that u continue to display/sell Beta fish in their tiny 3x3 cups. I asked an employee if they stay there until they're purchased & she said yes. They're only let out 1/week for cleaning. No animal should be kept in a small space, 24/7. I understand they can't all be put in a large tank, but something has to be done. Horrible serviceI live in Downey a skinny young lady with glasses who worked there was too busy talking to her coworker while they were a long line of people I approached her to ask her a question about a Lilo and stitch outfit. They have there for dogs. I asked her if they had any other sizes cause it looks like the sizes they have were all small. She seem uninterested in my question and said that's all we got so I asked her if I could get the number for the Whittier location so that I can call to see if they might have something. She says I don't have the number you can go outside on your phone and look it up cause obviously the service in the store was horrible, including their Wi-Fi. I stepped out. The store looked the number up while my wife waited in line. I called the Whittier location and they were very nice. They offered to hold the item for me and I said OK that I would make my way over there. I had to drive 25 minutes out of my way just to get some customer service for something I wanted to buy there at PetSmart. What a shame I don't know if they're stuck in their Covid mindset where they think they're just getting paid to do nothing and not help customers, but this young lady is a wrong fit for this location. I was at this location around 7:30 PM. Maybe I want to check your cameras to see who your staff is unsatisfied and very disappointed in this customer service here last time I was shop here and I spent a lot of money on my dog. read more

I took my dog here for grooming with Natalie. It was his first time with her. She did a satisfying job with my dog. Because of our favorable experience, i booked another appointment with her eight months later. However, she refused to groom my dog for the second time because she can't handle me checking on my dog. I thought she would conduct herself professionally and be direct to the point with her dealings like any mature, professional, educated human being would instead of talking behind my back that i had to find out from another groomer the reason she denied/refuse to groom my dog. Because of her unprofessionalism, i used other groomers there and it worked out better for my dog and me. I don't recommend taking your dog to be groomed by Natalie because of her attitude and unprofessionalism. You don't need somebody like her. There are other groomers better than her. I also plan to check for other dog groomers in the Downey area that have better customer service and are professionals. overall, this Downey location can do better by hiring better employees as managers and staff that are professional and have good customer service instead of being rude. It's like 40% of the staff there are rude. I have been going to their Brea location and by far, they are organized and have excellent customer service. The Cerritos location is good too. Better than Downey but not as great as their Brea location. read more

Every time I order online the product always says it is in stock but 90% of the time it isnt. Anyway, J then tells me to call back later because there was only two of them there. I could have waited on hold if she was busy. She could have easily asked the second employee to help while she stayed in the front. the store hasn't even been open 10 mins. Went in for dog food, it's one of the only places I can get Iams for older dogs. They always have it which I'm grateful for.... My son picked up some fish for his tank as well. Great selection of fish, many on sale. Staff was very helpful collecting his new finned friends. Be sure to get on the system so you accumulate points. Saved us three dollars. PetSmart has become my go to grooming location for my Coco which is why I recommended my roommate to take her fur baby to them. The staff is always super friendly and nice to my dog which is awesome because he does get a little nervous every time he goes for his pamper time. I love how they leave his little face looking all the time and I can tell they are very gentle with him. On Saturday night April 29, 2023, my family visited this establishment thinking we would be taken care of by professionals. It was 8:40 pm when we arrived and the associates appeared to be very friendly and helpful. Even the manager assisted us pick a Top Paw Crate. This was are first time that we had a dog. We spent over $500, before 9:20 pm. When we heard an employee stay to the manager "we need to make another closing announcement, for this stupid customers". Closing time is 9:30pm. We took our puppy to get a wash and cut big mistake bringing her here. they take a ridiculous amount of time 4 hrs for a wash and cut is way too long. I was sitting outside the grooming area and watching them groom the dogs not many dogs 1-2 just so you guys know. When it was my dogs turn I was watching Alexis cut her hair and timed her it took her 45 mins to cut my dogs hair.!!! What about the rest of time I was there from 11am-3pm insane. So you telling me my dog was sitting in the kennel for hrs. Just unacceptable first and last time I come here. Went to take my two dogs as usual to get groomed and one of them had a sprained a leg but we taken the dog there like that to get groomed and no problem. This time we went the usual groomer was busy but we got attended but these two other female groomers. Of them took our dog had the sprained leg and carried her to the back , she came back and said we can't take her. Said because she couldn't stand right , and that cameras and managers were there. That's fine but why didn't you walk her in like your supposed to do instead of carrying her inside the back and then claimed that cameras are watching. DONE with grooming at this place. A few months ago when I got home I noticed that Isabel(not Izzy). There are 2 Isabel's, so NOT the one they call "Izzy"..... She (Isabel) made his ears bleed on both sides. She decided to pluck BIG junks of fur out instead of a little at a time. My poor pup endured so much pain with her. I also had issues with Alexis, but not enough to make me leave. BUT Amanda put the icing on the cake. Because of Amanda, I WILL NEVER RETURN. She charged a hefty price for things that I was not charged for last year. My bill was ALWAYS $107 due to my pups extra conditioner. With Amanda it was $152. She read a laundry list of things to justify her price. Yeah, you warned me that you were going to make me OVER PAY and stick it to me before you started. I am very busy and he needed to get him groomed today. She also told me to drug my dog before I bring him back next time to make her job easier. NO OTHER GROOMER HAS EVER SAID THAT. He is a little uncomfortable with his legs being cut, but NEVER needed drugs to be groomed by other groomers. He is 2 years old and No other groomer suggested that I give him drugs. She wants him drugged or I need to have him buzzed cut so she can finish quickly. SUCKS that I over paid for the same exact service that I received all last year. read more

Earlier today I stopped by to buy treats for my dog and cat. While I was shopping in your store, your employee Milca hit my cars mirror with a shopping cart. This unfortunately resulted in my cars mirror cap getting scratched and damaged. Thankfully, while all of this was occurring my brother was in my car witnessing it. I stepped outside of your store after making my purchase to asses the damage caused by your negligent employee. I requested to speak to a manager when an employee by the name of Milca said they were the manager. Oddly enough the same person who hit my car was the manager. Instead of deescalating the situation and taking ownership of the damage she had caused. She proceeded with saying "I brushed up against it, there's no damage". After that she proceeded with saying my brother was a liar. Being an ethical person I invited this person to bring another cart and measure the point of impact. Oddly enough that's when she finally admitted to hitting my car. I continued with asking her "Well since you damaged my car who is going to repair it"? After several minutes going back and forth with this incompetent employee I requested to make a report. At first she didn't want to make a report until out of the "goodness" of her heart she decided to. While she stepped a way for a few minutes into her office she came out saying she had filled the incident report. I requested a confirmation or proof the report had been submitted and was provided nothing. Seeing this negligence, I asked her if she wanted to take pictures of the damage and she agreed. While we stepped outside the store and walked to my car she continued making negative remarks. As we got closer to my car she went up to the car parked next to mine and started saying she hadn't hit my car. I told her in the most ethical and professional manner that's not my car. Once I told her my car was the Black BMW her tone and voice completely changed. Not only was I treated differently based on the car I was driving but her treatment got even worse. It's a hit or miss on grooming for me. I take my dog to Petsmart because they're professionals. My dog had a very bad experience with groomers when she was a pup and needless to say, she hates being groomed! I booked an appointment on-line to get a Saturday appt. As i was checking in my dog, she was already fidgetty. The very first thing that the groomer said, maybe you need to go somewhere so she won't see you to calm her down (i thought, that's a first) but ok, whatever works. As she was assesing her, she was talking to a "supervisor" perhaps and they both told me that --- in layman's terms, we cannot handle your dog. if you want her groomed, take her on a weekday instead. in their words, if she continues this behavior we won't be able to groom her, it would be better to book her on a weekday where there are less distractions for her. i said, she was groomed here the last time and they didn't say that. she said, here? on a saturday? then they checked, etc. she just said, anyway, we will call you if there is a problem. i said ok. an hour later she calls and said, your dog bit me while i was trimming her hair so we stopped; pick up your dog and next time, you can just schedule her with Heather if you like. i just said, no worries, i can take my dog elsewhere. First, i understand my dog has problems but Heather handled it; if you cannot handle it, tell your supervisor that you can't. i did not hear any complain about my dog the last time or Heather was just too much of a pro to even mention it. Overall, i would nor be back because of the groomee being rude and unprofessional. The 1 star is for Heather!!! Next time request for Heather, if she can handle my Chloe with care, she can take any dog. read more

I made appointment for my dog to get a check up, when I showed up, I was notified that I would have to leave my dog for 3 to 4 hours which is not an option for my dog so I wasted a 45 minute drive there then the second time that I try to reschedule, I was late and I called to let them know and they said it was OK when I arrived I was told that I arrived too late and I wasn't able to be shown so that was another 45 minute drive down the drain I do not recommend coming here with your dog unless you want your time wasted read more

Called the store looking to schedule a grooming appointment for my pup. They were able to accommodate me same day. Nataly took my pup in and her customer service was stellar! From the moment I walked in to drop her off to when I picked my pup up, she was so friendly and helpful. Definitely worth taking my pup back for another groom is appointment. read more

One of my dogs was severely hurt during his groom here, and they didn't mention it to me, I had to find the injury myself, and now my dog is terrified of being groomed. Witnessed a dog attack inside the store 12/5/2023 around 7pm. Maybe it's time to update store policy on certain breed sizes requiring proper harness training and handling by the owners, especially if you know that your dog has a particular temperament around smaller dogs and/or children. No one should have to witness an attack due to irresponsible dog handling. It was never an issue until it became one and I hope the associates receive proper safety training for events like this and a break because that was scary and I feel for everyone in the store today who witnessed it especially the Owner and her dog. Sarah at the Downey location has HORRIBLE customer service skills, first of all her greeting was very I don't want to be here tone, second when I asked if she could check another store for an item I needed she said that she couldn't because they have different systems (they don't) I have never had an employee not be able to check something for us at another location, then I asked if she could call to see if they had the item and she then very rudely said that per Petsmart policy she could not call which was absurd, I have NEVER heard of that at all, so at that point another employee very kind asked if she could help us this is usually the type of employees we encounter (kind/helpful) I asked her if she could check the same item she pulled out her kiosk thing and checked she then called to double check I asked her why Sarah didn't help us in the first place she said it just depends on who you ask because some employees don't want to go the extra mile for customers I could Not Believe it!! I was shocked smh!!!!!! I looked at Sarah shocked and she just rolled her eyes, thankfully the other employee helped us we are in there weekly a few times a week sometimes we spend really good money there and this has never happened to us in the many years we've been shopping here, I'll be calling Cor as well. Took my 13 week old Yorkie puppy yesterday to get groomed. After searching and reading reviews for different groomers, I settled for PetSmart Grooming. I do not regret my decision at all. Heather Q took care of my puppy and was really nice and friendly. It was his first time getting groomed, so when i left him he was a bit nervous (shaking and drooling on my arm). However, once I picked him up he looked so clean cut and content. I took him home and he was still happy as can be and prancing around. I assume he had a great experience at the groomers! We will continue use the grooming service for sure. Also, the store itself is really convenient for my puppy's needs. Apart from the groomers, they have a the Banfield Pet Hospital inside that I take him to as well. read more
