We have both a golden retriever/lab mix and a poodle, and finding a place that excels at both grooming and boarding can be a challenge--but this team hits it out of the park every time. We keep our poodle "doodle-y" looking and don't like it when he gets a true poodle cut (iykyk), and the groomers always do an incredible job listening to what we want. Our pup looks adorable after every appointment! I reviewed boarding before in a previous review, but as always, the staff is welcoming, attentive, and treats our dogs like their own. When we pick them up, they are happy, healthy, and tired in the best way possible. Highly recommend PetSmart for anyone looking for trustworthy grooming and boarding services. We took our dog there to the sawmill location for the first time. We have taken her to the one over on West Point with never a problem. She's never had a problem ever before and is very friendly looking for attention. We dropped her off and we immediately had an attitude from the person who took her in. Unsure why, but that should've been our first hint that we were going to have a problem. (my daughter also noticed that she seemed to approached us with a very bad attitude and she is only 12). We dropped her off and within an hour they called us back and said she was biting and throwing a fit. We have never had any reports of her biting anybody ever before. When we came in they said that she was "alligator rolling" on their table. She was very rude when we were there to pick her up. In the car outside of the place, we noticed that she was favoring her leg and it looks like somehow she injured her leg while she was in there. Just like the other folks who have written about this grooming location if you're in this profession, you would have to have a little patience and I'm not sure what they're doing in there but this grooming location is not good. You have to have patience with Dogs and not expect the dogs to be used to you.... I get the impression that they just really don't like dogs. And this is PetSmart? Needless to say they did not finish any of the services, including the haircut. I would actually read some of the other reviews because I think they're spot on now that I've been there.... This is for the pets hotel. We have a new rescue dog and we werent quite ready to leave her at home all day while we worked at church on Easter Sunday. We called our normal place and they were all booked. I called PetSmart in Dublin to inquire about their Petshotel. Yes! They had room. I was able to book online thru the PetSmart app and then emailed her vaccinations records. They require a full order of vaccines including bordatella so I felt good about that. I opted for the half hour one in one play time and got this large glass enclosure with cot bed for 42 dollars. That's fair and I'd do it again . They said she " did fine!" But I noticed the e blue pad was gone from her bed. One of two things were likely, she shredded it just like she did to her Kong pad or she had an accident. Pet Smart Grooming. Paid money to essentially have my dog traumatized. Lady kept pulling on the collar despite me asking her to ease up because I saw that my dog was having trouble breathing. She was pulling on the leash way too tight. His eyes kept progressively getting redder from the amount of stress he was in and how hard he was being yanked. I understand there is probably some protocol in place when a dog is getting a bit rowdy but you need to have patience if you're working in this field. For reference my dog is the type of dog to run up to new people because he loves greeting everyone. He loves being petted and touched. He loves attention. He has never had issues with anyone touching any part of him. Yet this is the first time I've ever seen him so hesitant to even allow me to get close to his paws and check his nails. He seemed scared. I would like to point out that I've utilized PetSmart grooming before but this time around, I absolutely hated my experience. My dog seems traumatized by it. Experience should not vary based on the person attending to my dog. The experience should be equal for all dogs regardless of groomer That said. His nails weren't cut properly. The one to the far right on his right leg wasn't cut at all. The one on the far right on his left leg is broken....I would not recommend this place. read more

Took my son's dog for his first groomer visit, for a pup cut. Told would take 2 hrs then pick up After an hr, received call from very unprofessional young employee telling me there was an accident and my son's dog fell off of table, and they think broke it's leg. Without our knowledge, they pick up our dog (who was in excruciating pain), put in their car, and drove to a veterinarian, of their choice, not ours. In fact veterinarian they chose, was further away than his own veterinarian. This incident occurred over 7 months ago, and anytime we call to discuss settlement, they refuse to comply. I cant imagine how hurt and scared and panic he was when I was not around him. Be careful for what you choose and where you go with your baby!!!! This is not the first time my dog get hurt after grooming here. This store is a pet owners heaven for all pet related items. This is like a dog and cat's dream store to come to. I have brought my puppy here twice and she loves this store. I got the puppy guide which cost like $19 for that I got great coupons for things off in store like grooming services, doggie day camp, special items in store and doggie hotel. It's great I've almost used up the entire booklet and got a lot of savings out of it. We come here a lot as you can imagine. We buy my puppies food, bedding, toys, etc all here. She even got a cute coat because we gave into it when she tried it on. Yes, it was an impulse buy but worth it to see the happiness and cuteness on her face. I took my dog for her monthly grooming and once again was very happy with the result. My dog is difficult to brush, and Anna always does an excellent job with her. When I went to pick her up, it felt like there was a tension in the air, and I couldn't figure out if it's because my dog was so bad or it was something completely different. I asked another groomer how my dog did, and gave the same answer that we usually get. I know it's a very stressful time, and I'm sure that was the case, so I will still be bringing my dog here to be groomed. read more

Took our Aussiedoodle here today for a simple face cut and they ended up cutting it way to short and shaved a bald spot above her eyebrow. Looks horrible. The last time I was there, this wiener doggo comes strolling in and lets out a few barks just to show everyone else that he is in the building. I will say that we will prefer this location since we can drop our dog off for grooming, run various errands at all the big box stores on Sawmill and then pick her up. I really like this Petsmart location. I have been living in this area for about three years now and I have two puppies. I have a husky and a Maltese puppy and I usually get most of their materials food etc. from this location. It's always really clean and there's never any really obnoxious or overbearing dogs or animals around like some of the stores I've been to. The customer service is pretty good I never have to look for something to long someone's always ready to help me I really appreciate that. Sometimes the prices can be high. But generally you'll find a good deal I'm around the holidays. They also send out coupons to your email I receive them for Veterans Day Thanksgiving etc. and they're usually about 20 to 50% off so I really like getting those. I've also use their obedience classes for my husky the prices were pretty reasonable especially the one on one. When I first started the trainer sucked so bad. She just didn't know what to do my dog wasn't knocking her over it was terrible. However she must of gotten a lot of bad reviews so we got a new trainer and his name is Todd. Todd is awesome he has the best skills for the job and my husky really really responded to him. We learned a lot from that class and I will recommend Petsmart for their obedience classes any day. When couldn't make a class I'm Todd was very flexible and I did enjoy that. Overall I generally like this location it's in a plaza next to target which I really like because I can get a lot of things done at once. I take my dog to Dog Day Camp at least twice a week and we love it. Me for the friendly and attentive staff, and my dog for a full day of play. I get peace of mind that she's not home alone all day while I'm at work. I've also used their grooming services on several occasions and always pleased with the level of service and results. I went in at 8:59pm. I understand coming in 1 minute before closing can be annoying to workers, but for someone who works in healthcare and is rushing to get dog food, 8:59pm should be acceptable. I walked in and she quickly turned and said "we're closed." I looked at my phone and showed her that it was only 8:59pm. She said no, ours says 9:00pm. I said "I just need dog food." And she condescendingly said, "yeah we're closed." Absolutely ridiculous. I knew exactly what I wanted and would have been out in less than 2 minutes. Will NEVER come here again. It's unfortunate that we won't be bringing our dog back here for boarding as the people were great and the facilities seemed nice as well. We loved the report we got at the end of the stay and we called to check in and got a nice report too. However after an only 24hr stay our dog came home with a cough and the odd thing is he didn't spend any time with other dogs which tells me the place is simply not kept clean enough. Our dog also does not bark regularly and we were told he did well so I'm sure this wasn't a case of just over barking and irritating his throat. In addition the stay wasn't quite as affordable as other options but on late notice they were about the only ones with availability. I guess that should've been a sign. Until there are consistent reports that other dogs aren't getting sick while boarding here I'd recommend steering clear. read more

When I first rescued my dog , I took him to Petsmart within minutes of signing the paperwork , to get him groomed. The lady at our original Petsmart did such a fabulous job, that I would choose Petsmart Grooming over Mom & Pop type dog groomers. All that came to a halt , for this location at least, when I took my dog for a routine groom and wanted a specific groomer. I was told she wasn't available. Then I was told the cut I wanted was impossible and that no one was able to do it. What happend to the "Look Great Guarantee"? So they pass us onto Ashley and I think "Well at least he'll come home trimmed and mostly presentable". It's time to pick him up and he's happy to get back to me. Then I notice him gnawing/licking/ and scratching at his underside. I picked him up and realized that Ashley nicked his scrotal region. My dog was irritated, hurt, and I was hurt because I trusted them to take care of my dog. I called customer Service, and took my dog to the Vet. The management for this location called me back, but they we'rent covering grooming costs or offering another trim on the house as compensation. For some reason I wanted to give them another chance, and called to book another grooming session for my dog. "Ashley" picks up the phone and proceeded to make the reservation for my dog. I asked when she first took the call if the groomer I liked was available, and she ignored me. I asked again before the call ended and she copped an attitude and assured me that she wouldn't be butchering my dog again. I hung up. We've been going to "All About the Dogs" and have been happy ever since. Their Doggie Daycamp is safe though, the employees who run the Daycamp are very sweet. They know my Peke by name and spoil him rotten, even when we're shopping. read more

The pet hotel at this location is very bad. I have taken my dog to the Easton location many times and have never had an issue. My girlfriend and I boarded our dogs for a single night at this location on 12/28. At check in, they had one staff member. Even though everything was scheduled in advance she acted as if we've never been there. She made us fill out a bunch of paperwork that was already on file. Our pets had accidents while waiting and the staff member scolded us. My girlfriend had to go find help. Check in took roughly 20 minutes. The staff member made us feel like we were a complete inconvenience. At check out, again no staff to be found. Our dogs came out very nervous and excited. Our bill was $200 for 1 night. There was no upfront clarity on late pick up charge. It's actually more than the Easton location and the Easton location never charges me. Most places give discounts on multiple pets - not petsmart. I have no problem with price as I should have checked prior but their pricing is much higher than Pet Palace, Riverside Animal Hospital, and other boarding facilities in Dublin. Once we got home we noticed they didn't pack our dog food. It was a brand new bag. Also, the blankets we took were soaked in pet urine. Nobody told us at pick up. We did get a report card saying how lovely and cute our dogs were and it had smiley faces and hearts all over it. Some more relevant information would have been helpful than smiley faces. I called the hotel and they had no notes on how much our pets ate or where our food went. Remind you, the pets were there for one night and had 2 meals each, total of 4 cups of food. I emailed the corporate office advising of my experience and asking for feedback. I received a response saying my situation would be reviewed and responded to within 3-5 business days. What a joke. The Sawmill Pethotel is lacking in operational efficiency and customer service. Every other place I've taken my dog to has delivered better check in and check out experiences. I'm seriously concerned how my pets were treated and disappointed I haven't recieved a response from Petsmart yet. I don't recommend this pet hotel to anyone. read more

I have a miniature schnauzer who's not yet a year old, and he and I both love PetSmart. He's a regular at day camp, and I've also been taking him to be groomed there. The customer service is great, whether it's in the salon, at the pet hotel or at the cash registers -- everyone's always pretty cheerful and helpful, even when I ask tons of questions. it always seems like he gets enough individual attention when I leave him with PetSmart employees, which makes me feel more at ease. I like that they separate big and small dogs for play time at day camp because bigger, older dogs often are annoyed by my dog's relentless playfulness. But he seems to have a great time in the small dog area and really wears himself out. I had to board my dog at the last minute once when PetSmart was all booked, so I took him to Pet Palace in Hilliard. Maybe I was there at a particularly bad time, but I didn't get great vibes there. Compared to PetSmart, the staff seemed sort of impersonal. I think I was supposed to receive a report card when I picked him up (like I always get at PetSmart!), but I never got one. Sometimes the grooming report cards here come with $10 off coupons for day camp. SO happy when I get those. read more

This review will focus more on the grooming services... On Saturday, I adopted a puppy from a rescue group in Cincinnati. Everything was great, until I discovered that my newly adopted pup had a few fleas on her. Panicked, and not wanting to take her into my apartment with fleas, I called the grooming department at this PetSmart to see if they could fit her in for a flea bath. Even though I called at 4:45, and they took their last appointment at 6:00, they were more then willing to take her at late notice. The groomer who assisted me (AJ) was very friendly at check-in, and walked me through what packages they offered for dogs with fleas. There no pushy upselling, and the charge for the bath was a reasonable $25... At my insistence, they added a flea preventative application and nail trim for another $24. I quoted 2-3 hours for the bath, but it only took 90 minutes. When I returned, the person who washed my dog assured me that all fleas were removed, the items that were brought with her where cleaned (a kennel, harness, and the leash), and also advised me what I should do with my car, as the dog had been in my car with fleas. All-in-all, I would recommend the grooming services to anyone. Everyone was friendly, and the dog was cared for. As for the store... Some of the items can be expensive. If purchasing dog food, I recommend visiting The Anderson's General Store off Sawmill Place Rd (it's next to the Sun Center Plaza, across from the Sawmill Crossing apartments). They have better pricing on dog food and general supplies. read more

I take my pooch here to get groomed. It won out over Petco by being five bucks cheaper and equidistant from my house. It won out over that pet place near Giant Eagle with the DIY baths by my being lazy. The grooming, I have no complaints about. I think sometimes they could maybe go a tad shorter on the nails, and my silly guy is right back to filthy within a few days of his bath, but they do a fine job. As for the retail merchandise, well, you could probably just read my Petco review and pretend it said Petsmart at the top. I purchased a gentle leader here that has worked like a charm, but it's the same one sold elsewhere so its quality doesn't speak to the merchant. My dogtag I purchased here was mangled within weeks. I just love that there is an adoption center here. Just went on 2/3/12 and saw a BEAUTIFUL 12 year old black and fluffy kitty. If only I didn't already have 5 animals at my house! Normally when you think of chain stores... you think of cookie cutter customer service and just a lot of monotony. When we first adopted our dog from the shelter we were on our way home, but first we made a stop here to purchase her cage and other necessities. PetSmart was very lenient about taking an online coupon giving us a nice discount on a cage (or kennel) we were looking at. We were in and out and taking our new happy pooch home forever. What's nice about PetSmart and most, but not all pet stores is that they allow you to bring your pooches in with you to walk around, so they can salivate over giant bones BIGGER than them, or find that terrible, new squeaky thing they just want to destroy. Having done business with PetSmart in the past, I knew they were an A-OK establishment. We stopped here more recently to have them trim my dog's nails. My dog is not a well socialized dog from her previous owners and she's really iffy around strange new people and the corgi instinct in her makes her nippy, too. We stressed this to the grooming area and they said, "No problem!" They took great care of her and although it took two people to trim her nails.... at the end of the day she was a happy pooch walking free with some fancy trimmed nails! We picked up some new treats for her and their prices were normal retail.. maybe slightly above what you would pay at a box store, but their selection was GREAT. They had basic treats to more organic and natural based treats. Something else that was interesting was their selection of antlers for chewing instead of those who don't want raw hides. I will continue to do business here at PetSmart as it is very convenient and helpful!! read more

I was very hesitant about leaving my fur baby at a pet hotel for the first time because she tends to get anxious, even when I have a friend watch her....but I needed to go out of town, and no one that I knew was free to watch her for the weekend. I was relieved that when I called to check in on her, the woman that answered the phone was polite and willing to tell me how she was doing. It put my mind at ease. When I picked her up, she was having play time and seemed happy and comfortable around the other dogs (I saw her through the window). Once we got home, she ran to the bathtub to get a bath haha (she loves being clean), but she seemed calm and pleased to be home. I think she enjoyed her stay, and she didn't show any signs of being stressed. I can tell she was taken out of her room and she was cared for because she has been relaxing and napping all day. I would definitely recommend this location for other dog mamas needing a safe place for their fur baby! read more

They called me to come pick her up which all is good there. I get my dog in the car and start driving half way home I kept getting hit with a foul smell Of poop just thought it was my dog having bad gas nope she had poop all over the frontside of her tail. Of course when I call the groomers are gone for the day super convenient that she was their last dog in and I received her in worst condition then I brought her in.... I'm here helping take care of a sick relative and tried to exchange or get a refund for a dog harness. I couldn't find one I wanted and requested a refund. The store code would not read on their scanner from my receipt, the manager took my receipt after watching the cashier try multiple times to refund it and didn't offer any assistance to him or solution, looked me straight in the face and said,"It's invalid!" I asked them to look it up by my rewards phone number, it pulled up immediately. The manager could see it on the computer and still would not give me a refund. The cashier offered an in store credit which I gladly accepted. The manager was so rude, I felt like she was accusing me of forging a petsmart receipt because of my skin tone, I'm Native American and not Caucasian which are predominantly in this area, and no I'm not racist, my husband is Caucasian! Parking is usually pretty decent, you are fighting with those shopping at Target so sometime it can be a bit obnoxious finding a spot. I wish they offered a wider variety of dog outfits. Stopped in here on our way home from the zoo to get my dog some new & different treats that I cannot find by my house and this place sure did deliver. They had super good deals on treats that the dogs chew to clean their teeth that came in a variety of flavors (thank goodness! my dog is soooo tired of dentasticks). I couldn't believe they actually had one that is supposed to taste (I'm am NOT licking it to verify it tastes like chicken) and smell like chicken (I can however verify that it smelled like chicken broth). My dog DEVOURED that thing. And it was on sale for $1.30. They also had a bunch of toys and their customer service was stellar. The only thing I don't like about this store is that you have to have their card to get the deals. Seriously people.
