I would give them zero star if I could. Please, for the sake of your dog, do not come here for grooming! I took my dog here on Saturday, she was taken to the washing station immediately (you can't see what is happening there), a hour later the groomer just started to bath her, 15min later, when he finished the bath and move to the grooming station (where I can see her) there is blood everywhere on the floor! Her nail fell completely! He said it happened when he took her out of the washing station, and she was not cooperative. What? ? Of course she is scared when you tried to life up from the station and tried to grab anything she could. They took her to the vet, the vet took care of her with bandage. The funny part is that the store manager wants me to pay 50 percent of the vet bill! Why would I pay the vet when you staff was not careful! I am here for grooming, not for someone to pull her nail and charge me a bill! Finally he agreed to pay the bill, oh wait, I was here for grooming, and they haven't done brushing, and they have only trimmed one nail! COMPLETELY OFF! read more

I recently took both my dogs in for a grooming service. I've used various Petsmart locations for years and I've used this location before and been satisfied. The staff was entirely friendly, however, I found myself disappointed with the result after spending a total of $80 for a service I could have done on my own (and will next time). This time, i got my dogs back and their nails were barely trimmed (if at all), their body hair was supposed to be shaped up but all that was noticeable was a trimming around paws and tail. The ears and the body didn't seem to be touched at all. I usually get them back and they smell fresh and clean. This time there was nothing. in fact they looked just like when I dropped them off. I was disappointed considering the investment and that I asked for a bath, nail trim and shape up around the entire body. Save your money. read more

The employees here are always very helpful and nice. They have a nice animal selection and it genuinely seems like the people working here like animals. I ended up purchasing two mice on separate occasions and got loads of help from the associates. The girl with the blond shortish hair is awesome and took the time for me to find the perfect mouse. Most places it seems like workers get annoyed if you ask they a single question but here they will go through your questions step by step and then walk around the store to help you pick stuff out. Both of the blonde girls who seem to be the petcare people are pretty great! read more

When the best I can say is "at least they didn't cut my dog," you know there's certainly better elsewhere. When I called to make an appointment, they offered my 7 or 8 am. I took 8 and arrived at 7:45. When I entered the grooming area, there was a woman and young man chatting. I explained what I wanted for my 15lb poodle mix and was unpleasantly surprised when I was told it would 3-4 hours. When I called back at 11:45, I was told it would be another 30 minutes. I expressed my displeasure and was told by a snippy female with an attitude that my appointment was at 8:00 and 4 hours was 12:00, and that it was taking longer than they expected. (My dog is well behaved when getting groomed and did not have any mats. Previous groomings usually take 2 hours or so.) When I arrived at 12:30, my dog was still on the grooming table. Her face and tail had not been groomed. I patiently waited while the young man who was chatting earlier in the morning finished. When my dog was finally done, the job was quite unsatisfactory. I had asked for a very short cut since my dog hates the heat (we moved here from Canada!). Her coat looks ribbed; there are groves; some "rows" are closer to the skin and others are noticeably longer. It is quite bizarre. But I just wanted to get out of there. And, needless to say, I will not be going back. read more

I am writing about the Falls Church, VA cat kennels that house Last Chance Rescue and Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation cats. The cat kennels houses many cats that are sneezing and are passing respiratory illness to all of the other cats. Then these cats are shown during adoption events and continue to be sick and pass it on to other felines. The kennels appear to be a breeding ground for illness. The room is very small, not well ventilated and full of cat carriers, supplies, no walking room. Once I went in and many of the cats were sneezing and coughing. I certainly hope the individual kennels are sanitized on a regular basis, blankets and beds washed regularly. I find the kennel depressing and not the place to house cats. I hope both organizations can find a better place. read more

We went to the Petsmart training for both beginner and intermediate training. We had Megan and she was wonderful. She was very helpful and accommodating when we couldn't make it to a scheduled class--she went out of her way to set up a make-up session. We will definitely be returning for the advanced class and continue shopping at the store. read more

This PetSmart did a terrible job on my dogs haircut. We specifically asked for them to keep our dog's hair long, but they ended up completely dissing our instructions and trimmed her almost bald. We asked for her nails to be trimmed and they couldn't even do that correctly. For what we are paying, they are not living up to the standards we as customers expect from them. We are never going back to PetSmart again. The workers there are incompetent and can't fill simple requests which is absolutely ludicrous. read more

I had an appointment at 6 pm. My husband arrived on time with my dog, to be told "they did not really want to groom him and would not cut his nails" all 5 lbs of him. The place was filthy and the other dogs were very nervous. I promptly called the store manger Lester. Lester was extremely rude and said that they had gotten behind with some "difficult dogs" earlier and really didn't have the time or desire to honor my appointment. I will be calling the health department and the district manger for Petsmart in the morning. read more

I'm at this store about once I week (I have a very spoiled pup), and I'm consistently impressed by how outgoing and friendly the staff is. The store is well stocked and I can usually find just what I need, and I'm always impulse buying whatever happens to be onsale. Never tried the grooming or training, but great place to take your pup shopping! read more

I cannot speak for the store itself or full grooming, but I cannot say enough great things about using the grooming service for nail trims! It's very reasonable pricing, walk ins are always in and out in great time, the way that they handle the dogs and the quality of the nail trims is excellent. I have one nervous dog, so she gets the drimmel and my other dog gets a regular trim and they are both done as short as possible, never any nicking the quick, neat and rounded- some places I go leave the edges so sharp. I'd recommend them to anyone for this service! read more

My dog is very nervous about getting her nails trimmed. I took her to two groomers before I went to PetSmart and neither place could manage to do it. I took her to PetSmart today and the staff was so friendly and handled her like experts. They did a great job and finished very quickly. I'll definitely go back! read more

Everyone at PetSmart FC has been wonderful with my chocolate lab. She regularly gets the "furmenator" treatment. She doesn't shed for about 2 weeks after the treatment. She likes the people and the staff like her. read more

I have five dogs, two cats, and a 75 gallon fish tank, so I go to this Petsmart at least once a week. My experiences with the store and its employees have been generally good, until recently. I purchased a lot of fish from this store and over the past several weeks I noticed an increase in the number of dead or dying fish in their tanks. When I was in last week, just about every tank had at least one dead fish. When I brought the matter to the manager's attention, he went about making excuses (and interrupting me) saying how they just got fish in that day and they always have some that don't acclimate well...blah, blah, blah. Well, I told him that I was just in the day before and it was the same situation -- dead fish in every tank -- plus you don't get 1/2 eaten fish carcasses in a day. His attitude toward me was a big turn off. I worked for a major department store chain for five years in the early 1980s and am very old school when it comes to retail. The customer policy for the chain I worked for was the customer is always right...even when the customer is wrong, the customer is right. As an employee of a store, you stand there an agree with the customer and say you'll do everything to make the situation right. This guy was young and obviously new school -- acted as if I was bothering him and took an almost combative attitude toward my concern. I said I can get my fish at PetCo, his reply was "go ahead." To make matters worse, the last 3 fish I bought from the store infected my tank with ich. I've had fish for most of my life and this was my first experience with ich. Like a previous poster on here, I lost 2 of my favorite and oldest fish to the parasite. When I was in today for dog food, I went to look at the fish. A mother was there with her 2 children. The kids wanted to buy fish and she said "we just got enough fish for Christmas." I interjected, "I did, too, as well as ich....from here." She said, "really? My neighbor also got fish from this store and got ich." She asked where I get my fish now, I told her PetCo. SO, STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE IF YOU WANT TO PURCHASE FISH. read more

I use the grooming salon for nail grinds for my dog. I love it that they allow walk-ins for this service. They always do a great job and have helped me figure out how to manage my dog's fast-growing nails a little better. One gentleman did a great job of explaining how the quick grows forward, and what needs to be done to push it back. So the staff is very knowledgeable. They are also great with my dog. At first she would cower and not want to go behind the door, but after a year of nail grinds she now goes right behind the door and hops up onto the table on her own. She doesn't love it, but she heads right back there and puts up with it without a fuss. My dog also had a couple of baths here when she was a little puppy and they did a great job. I highly recommend the grooming department here. The rest of the store is big -- so they carry a lot of stuff. I'm always able to find something I need while the dog is getting her nails done. They carry Kong beds, which is great. My only complaint is that I wish they carried Merrick food. read more

I do not recommend this grooming salon. We have been taking our lab mix there for about 5 years with spotty service. No more. Made appt last saturday which i had to cancel. Rescheduled for sunday at 1 pm. Arrived at 1 pm and they told me the appointment was at 10 am and we had missed it. Wrong. It was at 1 pm which i confirmed several times on the phone when i rescheduled. Called made new appt for today at 11 am. Arrived and they said i had made an appointment for a hair cut. Wrong. Labs do not need hair cuts. Then, after all this, they said that the rabies certificate they had on file was expired. This is after looking up the dog on their system three times in the last week. Never informed me they needed an updated certificate. Will not go back. Terrible service. read more

We will never take our dog to be groomed there again. After four hours for a simple brushing and nail trimming, we couldnt tell the difference. As the dog was handed back to us by the groomer who, by the way, was slurring her words, we found a large black tick on the bridge of his nose - any amount of brushing would have shown that tick (he has white hair). $73 and nothing to show for except a clearly shaken puppy. Do no waist your money there or expose your dogs to incompetent treatment. read more
