I met Dan and Rachael in Las Vegas, Nevada. I had adopted a Dalmatian, Lady, from a local shelter…read more She was clearly abused by a male and had no formal training before. She would run and hide anytime a new person came to the house and wouldn't stop barking if the new person was a male. She had eaten two parts of our brand new couch, ate her way out of a plastic kennel, bent the wire kennel with her teeth, ate anything we left out on the counter when she wasn't being directly supervised, and used the carpet as her personal bathroom. Rachel did our evaluation and she impressed us so much that we signed up that night. A WEEK after starting with these two, Lady was walking on a leash without pulling, sitting on command, and accepting friendly strangers. We are now able to leave Lady in a kennel for a few hours at a time without her getting out of it or hurting herself. She no longer has any accidents in the house and has awesome manners when meeting other new dogs. Three months after working with them, Lady passed the Canine Good Citizen Test with flying colors, and its all thanks to Dan and Rachael!

Losing our sweet Harley was like losing our only child. This team of amazing people made a traumatic experience tolerable. Thank you all, and particularly Dr. Amanda Hitchcock, who assisted us with placing our baby in God's loving hands. We are forever grateful

I feel this place is all about money not about the care and compassion for the animals. My son…read moretook his 2 year old cat there because he ate a nerf dart. They charged him $800 just for an X-ray and fluids. Told him the cat needed surgery it was going to cost no more then $7,000 and no less then $4,500. Wouldn't work with him. So he had to leave with the cat. My son lives in Midland and went there because it was the only place he found that was open because of the holiday weekend. I have also had to take a few of my pets here and they are WAY overpriced. My dog threw a small bone up hole, which then caused her to vasovagal. We didn't know that's what was wrong with her, but I had already read reviews that they like to blame animals getting a hold of marijuana as reason for the pet to be sick. When we got there, which was around 4 PM. They took her in the back said they were gonna do some labs and an x-ray and then around 10 PM. Finally called us back. The first thing he asked is do you have marijuana in your house. I said no and he says well what we think happened is that she had vasovagal episode when she threw up. So $600 for them to keep her in a cage for hours to tell us that she vasovagaled and was fine.

Had recently lost family dog at 13, also from shelter. Moved out on my own, had to have my own dog. Searched shelter each day at lunch-hour for 3 weeks, then found "the one" 12 wk old Collie/Chow mix pup. Woman there seemed to have found him too at same time! We had kind exchange of words before I GRABBED him and claimed him as MINE. Rest is history. Blessed by the best dog I remember to this day. For $35.00! Happy birthday to shelter and thanks to all who support it. Ken

Was beyond excited to go and adopt a sweet little kitty. Got there the girl with the colored hair…read moreand piercings was extremely rude from the start. She said go pick a cat and let me know. I come out and again just attitude like it's my fault she has to work. The girl brining the cats in to us was so sweet and kind. We finally decided on a little boy who we thought we be a perfect fit for our family. I go tell this girl I want to start the process and right off the bat it was like I was on trial. She acted like I was incapable of taking care of him... and the reason why! Because I couldn't prove I give my dogs heartworm medicine at home. No matter what proof I tried showing I was met with attitude and before she'd even look at it say "no that won't work" she completely ruined the day for us. I was so excited to adopt another fur baby and I left there feeling like I was a bad pet mom (if you knew me you'd know my pets are EVERYTHING to me) we decided to go through a different place. And never had to show ANY proof of heart worm medication. I feel bad for the animals because they might be missing out on their forever home all because this woman is miserable. She needs to be fired! She acted like I was unfit but in reality she's unfit to be working there.
