I want to thank the staff member who helped me this morning right before opening . My 11 year old dog has Chronic Heart Failure and I was taking him in to have an emergency procedure at the vet , but needed to get a replacement leash quickly before I took him in . There was a woman who helped me as I carried my sick dog . She showed kindness and caring . She personally got everything I needed for me and helped me . I was really sad and scared for my dog and this staff showed true compassion and helped me when I needed it. It really made a difference. I wish I caught her name . She worked 2/3/2026 opening the store in Hanford. I really appreciate that time effort and kindness and I highly recommend this business to anyone who is looking . I should have looked at the reviews before coming here. Manager with red and blue hair, asked us what size tank and what fish we had in the tank. I told her and she refused to sell us fish. Half of the fish I two of their tanks were floating upside down but because we have a black goldfish she said they cannot live with any other fish, this is false. All of my son's fish are thriving and he researches which fish go best together. She actually refused to sell us fish. We will not be going back here, ever. Took my dogs to be groomed yesterday and was super anxious after reading so many horror stories. They were there from 5-8 and they loved it. One of my dogs doesn't like new people and he immediately warmed up to the groomers and went with them without a fight. My other dog was starting to look homeless, and he came out softer than he has ever been and looking like a brand new pup! Neither of them are very good at holding still but I'll try to get an after picture for reference! Also while we were in the store we walked around for about an hour waiting for them and all of the workers kept asking if anyone needed help and they were all super friendly. Absolutely do not EVER EVER EVER take your dog to get serviced in any way at the petsmart groomers. Back when they had windows for us to watch the dogs get groomed, I seen a groomer leave a dog unattended on the table while the dog was chained up by its neck, well the dog was scared and fell off the table and was dangling by its NECK. Absolutely horrific. I left and haven't been back since. If you care about your pets GO ELSEWHERE. Also don't recommend Veronica the groomer (if she's still there) my dog would comes home with cuts. read more

The lady I dealt with when I dropped my pets off was so kind to me and my dogs. That and the fact that my dogs smelled good are the only reasons I'm giving 2 stars, but whoever Brenda is, she needs to find a new line of work. She obviously doesn't pay attention to any work orders because I specifically said not to cut/grind my lab's nails. I also watched the lady that was up front put that in my dog's profile so it's not like it didn't say not to cut them. Her neglect led to 2 of my dog's nails bleeding until I was able to get it stopped at home. I absolutely will never take my pets here again for grooming and I definitely don't recommend that anyone has Brenda service their pets, especially since I'm not the first reviewer to have a bad experience with her lack of quality that I wasn't expecting to pay for... Every time I've been there I've had an issue to the point where I now drive an hour out to get my dog groomed to avoid the ladies in this grooming department. They are so insensitive and I really should have made a bigger issue with corporate for the experiences I've had there but I'll just leave a review in hopes that it helps someone else because they truly suck and trust me there are better places to take your little one My mini poodle literally has TRAUMA and has been weird around certain body parts after her last visit when she was supposed to get a small trim and they sent her out completely bald. The place was dirty and hair everywhere. my dog got ended up with a yeast infection on her paws and in her ears. i submitted a bill from the vet and i was called and asked to bring the bill in. Nobody has ever contacted me. I was told the corporate office was going to call me. i had to take my dog back to the vet twice it was so bad. Now it looks like i will be taking them to court since it's racked up and 800.00 vet bill for both visits. read more

I took my cat for a grooming to petsmart and we told them just to give her a bath and to not clip her nails. When we came home we found out they clipped her nails and hurt her. They said the nails started to "break" because of her nutrition. That's bs we give both of our cats food with natural ingredients even when they're really expensive. I took my dog in to get his nails trimmed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I didn't have my dogs paperwork, but they contacted Lacey Animal hospital to confirm that he had his shots. They handled my dog very well! He is very nervous, but they did their best to make him feel as comfortable as possible. They did an excellent job from what I can tell, and we were in and out of there in less than 15 minutes! It only costs $15, which is much less than you would pay to take them to a groomer! I completely agree with Nestor S. and Jordan S and....so any others. My dog was groomed a couple of years ago and for 3 days after the grooming he was bleeding nonstop from his anal area. I took him to the vet, they expressed his anal glands, without me requesting it or the dog needing it and they made a mess. I have pictures and witnesses. I put a complaint with the manager and saw her the photo with the blood that came from my dog, she told me only 2 groomers will be allowed to groom the dog. Unfortunately the great groomer that my dog had left town. I went today and my dog and I were treated very badly by one of the 2 groomers on his file. Neither to say I got very upset/mad and left with my dog, I refused to leave him there. PetSmart groomers are not friendly with the dogs or the owners. Kind words or smiles do not exist in that place and their grooming needs to be improved badly. Too long fur left, getting inside the mouth, too long ears, too long nails, too long fur in the paws and the cut is not even, one side of the face the fur will be shorter than the other side, same thing with the ears. They should call it half groomed. Find somebody else with a smile on the face, kind words for you and your pet, that cares and that knows what they are doing. Grooming is not cheap read more

I'm currently trying to have Pet Smart District Manager or Valley Animal Haven (where the cats come from) to pay the financial burden of the cat we recently adopted that had ringworm (and now my daughter has it all over her face). I've never dealt with something like this before with animals, as we have always take care of them and live in a clean home environment. It's disgusting that they do not wash nor have the cat thoroughly checked before the adoption process/payment. So far the store manager Emily said she can not do anything about it, so we will see if the district manager can. I would be cautious before adopting a cat from Pet Smart as they said its Valley Animal Haven responsibility for the reason the cat has ringworm. I'm sorry but the cat was at YOUR PetSmart facility for a period of time, but seem not to take ownership of that??? The adoption process was over $120 We paid money 3 weeks later to get the cat check at $130 And we need to get the cat checked in 6 weeks that will cost $200. It's so dumb and I am so disappointed how PETSMART is dealing with this. I always shop here, but no more. Until I get a resolution form the anonymous PetSmart District Manager they are on my list. My daughter is upset and hates to have the medicine I had to purchase to help heal this skin issue. As a parent this upsets me so much, and the fact that I have to stop my day to make call after call regarding this issue is tiring. Had a horrible experience with Brenda from grooming services. She had a bad attitude and saw her mistreat my dog. She pulled him and yanked him around when he wouldn't walk and I could hear him choking. At one point she placed him on a table with the leash around his neck and the table dropped and he hung and choked for a few seconds until she turned around and saw and just lifted the table back up and she got mad at him. When I picked him up, he smelled like he was never showered and nails were not cut. When I told her about it, she responded with an attitude and took him back and continued to yank him around and I couldn't continue to watch how she mistreated him so I just took him home instead. Never again will I be going back. She doesn't care about the animals and if I saw that in person, I can only imagine how she treats them when the owners are not there. She should not be working there if she behaves that way with our pets. Very bad experience. read more

I have to agree with a lot of the bad reviews that some people have left. I wanted to leave this review to warn people when and if they shop here. I had ordered a product on their online store. It didn't work out so I returned in store. I carefully reviewed their return policy before returning. Please note, I was within the 30 days of purchasing the product and had all the receipts and order number with me when I went in for the return. After speaking to the cashier and manager (manager was very rude and would not acknowledge me), they informed me that I couldn't get reimbursed to my original form of payment because they didn't have the credit card number I used. I didn't put up a fight, I said fine, store credit then. Now that I am trying to use the store credit, it says it has zero funds. The employee was incompetent and did not do the store credit/return correctly. Like someone said on here, I just lost my hard earned money due to incompetent and rude employees of Petsmart. So if you do buy from here and you are getting a gift card or store credit, please do not leave the store before checking that they did it correctly. Was not a good experience. I have taken my dog to the PetSmart in Slo for grooming, but this one was closer to home so I decided to give it a try. Bad idea. The groomers weren't very friendly or welcoming after I dropped my dog off I had a pit in my stomach. They called me to pick him up and I got there maybe 10 minutes later and I had to wait another 10 because they realized they forgot to do his nails. The hair cut is uneven and his paws look as weird and one even has a long hair still. I will not be bringing my dog back here for grooming and I would definitely not recommend anyone else to bring their dog here either. read more

I take My fur baby Sandy to PetSmart for nail grinds, bathing and furminators. She does NOT like anyone except those that are in her pack (our family). But, Brandi R. Has been taking care of her every time she goes and Sandy is getting used to it. The first time my dog went, the bather said she couldn't do her nails really well because Sandy was so scared. But now, when I take her, she is able to tolerate the full treatment. I really appreciate the bather Brandi taking the time to make my dog feel comfortable. I seriously hate this place. Their grooming is terrible. When you ask for a bath, that's all they do. Just a bath, I doubt they even brush them beforehand. Online and In their brochure inside it states a bath comes with : bath,teeth,ears, feet and sanitary trimmed, anal glands expressed. When I picked up my dog nothing was done. I asked why they go that's extra. Umm no it's not! Everywhere under the sun that's included in a bath. It even says so inside their grooming. They said to trim the feet/pads it's considered a hair cut! It's so ridiculous, so if I want my dogs pads trimmed it'll be close to 60 bucks. Umm no thank you. So done with this place. read more

One star because that's the lowest rating I can give. I took my dog in today at 10:30 am she told me he'd be ready at around 1:45 or 2pm. I tried calling at 2:15 & I couldn't get through and when I got through they put me on hold & I got nowhere. So I went in (it was 2:30 by now) & he wasn't done! He wasn't done till like 3 pm & he wasn't even done right. His nails were too short and his hair looks uneven, plus the shop is super dirty. I'm never ever going back again. I usually like Petsmarts but this is the WORST Petsmart I have ever been too. I was so used to my Fresno Shaw location, I didn't think a Petsmart could be this disgusting. read more

This department is getting one star only because I am unable to rate them any lower. I am quite suspicious of dog/pet abuse at this location. I have taken my two medium sized long hair Chihuahua mixes at least once a month for the past year. However, when I took them several months ago one of my dogs started to shake uncontrollably and while whimpering. He never ever shakes like that. He is normally pretty dominant. So I inquired if there was something going on back there that I should know about, naturally they denied it. He has exhibited that exact behavior three times since. I understand this a strong accusation without direct evidence. Looking at the indirect evidence, I would not be the least surprised. The abundance of a lack of professionalism usually leads to those type of actions. I will no longer bring our pets to a place that functions in this manner. They were very friendly. but as soon as i dropped my dog off & walked back to my car i received a call my dog was not acting very well in the bath & asked me to come back. i went back for my dog & they gave her back to me SOAKING wet. like the least you could have done was dry her off a bit. we walked out the store with her slipping because of how wet she was. she is a very well behaved dog & i have no clue what happened. i received her back very stressed. never coming back here again. read more

I took my dog to the groomer. She is a sweet happy shih Tzu. Every since I brought her home she has been scared. She was never like that. The groomers that I talked to were rude and wouldn't even try to say my dogs name since it is in Spanish. My dog doesn't even want to go for walks anymore. I'm so upset on what they did to my dog. For the dogs for sure... And by that I mean if you don't come there for cats and dogs and small mammals, you're low priority. Their reptiles are kept in horrendously small enclosures, over crowded, and not in the best conditions. I'm almost positive one of the leopard Geckos was dead. It was motionless with a missing tail and a very skinny body. Those hatchlings were way too young to sell. I asked for "Three dollars worth of crickets", and the girl working the register couldn't be bothered to do the math and had me pick a specific number. Though their reptile selection is disappointingly small, and kept in horrible conditions,good luck finding well priced reptile care goods in such great numbers anywhere else in hanford... your only other option is the pet stop on irwin street, and that place is dirty, disorganized, and overpriced. Though petsmart does sell a few things that are actually harmful, or just of no use to anyone... such as dead insects which no insectivore would eat. The leopard gecko kit included this and I had to throw out the "gourmet" crickets and mealworms. They told me practically nothing about my gecko when I bought it. No age, sex, morph, weight, and worst of all, no care information. They just assumed I did my research... lucky for the gecko I did. All in all, great place for mammals, but "average" for the lovers of cold blooded. Buy the supplies if you must, but order your animals from a breeder online.
