I should have read these terrible reviews for grooming here before I took my dog. Shame on me. Never, ever again. I have a cavapoo with curly long ears and a curly flowing tail. I specifically said DO NOT TOUCH her ears and tail. I shouldn't have to and historically don't even say that because it's pretty obvious, but I did this time anyway. I pick her up and her tail is completely shaved. It's like the most pronounced feature and it's all gone. She looks like a rat. They were specifically told and it was repeated back to me. I'm so frustrated. I recommend you have your great grandmother who can't see groom your dog before going to this disaster. Lesson learned. Read the reviews before trusting these bums to have a clue what they're doing. They should pay me, not me pay them. This is the worst experience and product that I have paid for in many years. They were so sweet to him and honestly once we picked up our pup, you could see how happy he was! If I could leave zero stars I would. Do yourself a favor and read the review from three months ago, where the customer talks about the grooming staff saying the dog will have to be shaved, etc. I took my dog who is Part schnauzer part, yorkie in for a bath and a haircut. He was overdue a haircut by about a month, but we were waiting for his incision to heal from his neuter. The person there said, the same thing that he had a few matted places that she would have to cut shorter, which seems perfectly logical. However, when I picked him up, he was shaved down to his flesh in some parts in those areas were extremely hot. When I questioned them about this, they said that that was from the blade and while the groomer was trying to explain to me, the manager chimed in and said, well did he have some mats because that's probably why. There is no reason to literally give a dog razor burn. The groomer basically shaved my dog all over. I did leave her a tip, I was in the process of doing that before I turned and picked up or saw my dog. AVOID THIS PLACE FOR GROOMING! We come here often and are very satisfied with the front of the house staff. We met Megan in the front of the store and she was super nice. And so was the woman that did our checkout (Deborah? Rebecca?). However when we walked into the "grooming salon" there was zero acknowledgement from the groomers. Not even a hello. More than ten minutes later small talk was attempted, but by that point I was over it. The process as a whole was painful. We've been to multiple groomers in multiple states and we have never felt so unwelcome. I was genuinely surprised that we even got a "Have a nice day". My dogs nails are still long and uneven. We live less than a minute away. We will most definitely be going elsewhere for our grooming needs. read more

My groomer was AMAZING. She cut my sheltie perfectly, and was super careful with my doodles ears as he has an ear infection. Lee, the manager was HORRIBLE. I had a day from hell and walked out of the house without my purse. It was closing time and I live too far away to make it home and back in time. This woman was so short, and rude to me. I called my husband to get his card numbers. First she wanted his Id to match our last names, then demanded I call him and let her speak to him to run the card. I wish I could give 0 stars. Do not take your pet to get groomed here. I have a pomerian and they pretty much shaved off all of his hair. Around his face where they left some hair is just choppy. He was there for over 4 hours and came out looking horrible. I've always taken my dog to a petsmart but never again. If the groomers don't know how to cut a certain breed they should not attempt it. Well, I tried to give PetSmart another chance, and they failed AGAIN! Cut was very uneven, pieces of fur sticking out. Biggest complaint, I swear she did not get a bath. She did not smell any better than when I dropped her off, and her fur was not soft and shiny! I almost feel like they used dry spray on shampoo! Sense when can you do a FULL grooming in an HOUR!!! We took our goldendoodle here to be groomed. When we dropped off the staff seemed too busy to be bothered. They told us they would have to shave him and there might be an extra charge. When we picked him up, they charged us an extra $40 for this. The staff at pick up were much friendly, but when we got home we discovered our poor dog had been nicked with the razor all over his body. There were numerous cuts everywhere. Of course, this led to our dog constantly chewing at the cuts, making them worse. After several days we took him to the vet who let us know that the places where they nicked him had led to a staff infection. He now needed an antibiotic and a spray to put on all the open wounds. We spent over $150 on his grooming and cut, and then had to spend another $150 at the vet. A week later and his sores are still open wounds and we're going to have to purchase a cone for the poor pup. Do your pup a favor and avoid this place at all costs. read more

Jagger, our 2 mo. old Chi-Chi, got tapeworms and after trying to place an online order to pick up and the app taking the funds without processing the order; Carl was more than helpful when we decided to give the store location a call. He was super polite and cheerful and wasn't annoyed when we called several times in a row, for now we have successfully gotten the dewormer and are safely on our way home to tend to our baby. If I could give zero stars I would. I took my 6 month old German Shepherd into get her nails clipped this past Monday afternoon. She is a loving yet very excitable puppy. We were going to have her nails clipped and grinded. I am so glad my husband and I decided to stand around and watch the girl attempt to do her nails. She could not control our dog. It was extremely painful to watch. Two other girls were shaving other dogs and the looks on their faces were priceless - going back and forth between us and the brunette trying to cut her nails. Why she didn't ask one of the other girls for assistance for the beginning, I have no idea. She tried for 15 minutes before calling it quits and returning our puppy to us. She clipped two of her paws. She couldn't finish the job. Another of her coworkers tried telling us that she's too overwhelmed and we need to spend more time touching her paws.....but she's completely fine with us handling her feet. What's more - is that three of her nails are splintered. As if she cut them vertically. Thanks for screwing up her nails! Of course we didn't pay for the unfinished job. I booked a grooming appointment for my dog for December 11th at 6 pm at the PetSmart in Hermitage with Nicholas (Nick).  She mainly needed her nails taken care of, but was also much overdo for a bath.  I dropped her off and was impressed by the kindness of the staff.  When I went to pick Maggy up, everything changed.  Maggy has had her nails done at numerous other groomers before, and has never had any major issues.  When I picked her up, she was clearly incredibly anxious and freaked out.  Nick informed me that Maggy tried to bite her during the nail service, so he was only able to get part of them done.  No one tried to contact me or anything like that, and I am 100% sure that if I was present, she would have calmed down and allowed him to continue.  He did not try again when I arrived either and just threw her at me.  I heard nothing but negative words about my Maggy.  If you look at the PetSmart grooming website, the nail services are clearly listed in the same level of the bath and other services included in the "package."  This includes: Oxygen-Infused Bath, Tangerine Shampoo, Blow Dry, Up to 15-Minute Brushing, Sanitary Trim, Nail Trim, Ear Cleaning or Flushing, Anal Gland Cleaning, Scissoring Feet & Shaving Pads.  When I picked Maggy up she still had clumps of hair all over her, was still damp and stinky, and her nails were not done (as mentioned before.)  If they had issues with that part regarding the nails, it leaves me to believe that they also did not fully complete any other services regarding her feet.  When I asked about getting a discount on my services, I was told the nails were "complimentary" even though when listed the way it was on the website, it is very clear that it is just like any other part of the package.  Her bath alone was not worth $46.  I became very visibly upset and started shaking, and was met with extreme rudeness and lack of empathy.  I was told by Brad the store manager that my fee was my fee, and his lack of empathy was shocking for a store that deals with animals on a daily basis.  I feel robbed, and now Maggy is barred from future PetSmart services.  I should have listened to my fur mom gut.  Stay away. read more

At first we were pleased but then our dog started to cough. Took her to the vet. Turned out the cough was due to coking. She has arthritis and a bad leg. Celeste is the best! We completed beginner and intermediate dog training classes. When we first got our miniature rat terrier, Skylar, I thought I had watched enough Dog Whisperer episodes to know how to train her on my own. Not so. While shopping at PetSmart with Skylar one day, Celeste told me about a discount they were offering on obedience classes. It was such a good deal that I thought is was worth a try. I was amazed at the things we successfully learned in the very first class, then each class that followed. Celeste is very patient and definitely knows what she's doing. If I couldn't get Skylar to perform, Celeste would calmly show me how to do the commands correctly. When we missed a class, Celeste was extremely flexible to arrange a 1:1 make-up session. One lady in my class had a lab who was aggressive toward other dogs. Celeste was great at keeping them separated at first, but gradually introducing her to the other dogs in the class. The progress was amazing to see. I also overheard her offer to spend extra time with that dog's owner to help her. She genuinely cares and goes above and beyond to ensure that everyone succeeds. I highly recommend Celeste's classes to other dog owners. My dog absolutely adores Celeste! Skylar used to hate going into PetSmart because she associated it with getting shots at Banfield or getting her nails trimmed (which she hates), but since going to Celeste's classes, she likes going there now. Check it out for yourself. They seem to regularly offer discounts and you will be amazed at what you accomplish in 6 weeks. Totally worth it! read more

I was excited about taking my 5month old puppy to the Level 1 class, vs. the puppy class,recommended by the "trainer" whom I spoke with prior to enrolling him. I did not like the way she treated us both during the two classes I attended, calling my dog "difficult," and "ADD," and telling me that he was going to be "really hard to train." She also passed off her own frustrations onto me, accusing me of being "anxious."This was in marked contrast to how she treated the larger dog in our class, who was indeed well-behaved and a quick learner. I did not return, but found an expert dog trainer, who not only works with small breed dogs, but actually enjoys it and was focused, professional and encouraging for us both. Consequently, he is almost a year old now, and very smart, well-behaved and not at all "difficult to train." My advice: get an expert, not a store employee who passes themselves off as a "dog trainer!" read more
