This review is for the grooming side only (haven't used the day camp.)…read more My 23 lb beagle mix gets a twice a month bath with special shampoo for his allergies and, because he hates baths and acts like I'm putting him through pure torture, we've opted to go to a groomer for it. Trey has been my dog groomer for over three years now, and he is truly just the best around: incredible groomer, magician with nervy dogs, and just all around kind human. When he moved to Camp Bow Wow earlier this year, it was a no brainer to follow him. He's one of the most reasonably priced groomers in the area and does an incredible job with all sorts of dogs. My dog genuinely loathes bathes and is overall a nervous dog around other dogs. Trey puts him at ease and he comes wagging his tail every time he seems him, even though he knows he's getting a bath. His nails are always filed down and maintained well and he smells so delightful after a groom with adorable fluffy fur! The facility is super clean and I appreciate the dogs are separated for grooming and have their own crates while being groomed. When my dog got skunked when I was out of town last year, for no extra charge, Trey worked his magic and in a couple of visits the smell was almost gone. True miracle worker and I'm so grateful we found him, as it takes a huge headache out of my life and helps me to know I'm always leaving my baby for a few hours with someone I trust. There's a dedicated parking lot for customers and I appreciate that staff is on top of making sure any dog who comes here is up to date on shots/vaccinations. Even though I don't use the day camp services the staff at the front desk are incredibly kind and welcoming to me and my pup and give him little treats and hugs every time we come in. It's a wonderful and welcoming experience and I can't recommend getting your fur child groomed here with Trey enough!

Instead, I was called back within about 10 minutes and told that he had "failed" because he was "too nervous." This was his very first time at the facility. He's a puppy in a completely new environment, surrounded by unfamiliar people, sounds, and dogs. Expecting him to immediately jump into the group and be perfectly comfortable within minutes seems unrealistic. He wasn't being aggressive, reactive, or causing any problems. From what I saw watching the camera in the waiting room, he was simply sitting off to the side and taking time to adjust the new environment. What upset me most was that he was not given a fair opportunity. A puppy who is understandably nervous in a new environment deserves patience, guidance, and time to acclimate--not a failure after 10 minutes. Had I known the evaluation consisted of only a few minutes to prove himself, I would have had very different expectations. I understand the importance of maintaining a safe environment for all dogs, but I left feeling that my puppy was judged before he was ever given a real chance. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect the welcoming, supportive environment I was expecting from a daycare that works with dogs of all ages and temperaments.

I bought a personal training package from Instinct and the trainer came to my home to train my dog and me. It was such a good decision. Both May and I really liked working with the trainer Lauren S. Her approach and tone were awesome. I knew from the first appointment with her that it was going to be great. I'd been trying to figure out how to get May to sit for weeks. Lauren got her sitting in a session. All in all I think we had 9 sessions with Lauren. In that time we learned a lot and have been applying it. My relationship with my dog is so much better because of Instinct. The thing I will caution people against is having unrealistic expectations of your dog and the trainer. If you go in with the desire to make your dog a unquestioningly obedient robot then you will be disappointed. Just focus on the over all quality and happiness of your dog's life

We were even sent an hour long questionnaire about our dog's history/health/behavior/etc. prior to training. Y'all...they care so much! We have a 1 year old rescue pup who's dog reactive, and we've been pretty much unable to take him on walks or near other dogs at all. Jenna helped us overcome all of this and we could not be more grateful. She coached us on how to slowly warm him up to lots of different scenarios- we even had a playdate with another dog today with no issues! His reactivity will be something we'll continue to work on for months, but I can't tell you how relieved we are to have gained some confidence with it. Jenna really helped put things into perspective and helped us understand how to read our dog and take things at his pace. You really can't rush progress like this, and I love that Instinct doesn't promise "quick, fast, easy results" because those are not effective or even possible. We would absolutely do this again if given the chance, booking with Instinct was a game changer.

He's a unique dog, and for a while we weren't sure we would ever find someone who could effectively and safely handle him, but Grace was able to not only speak his language - but also safely integrate him into walks with other dogs and help muzzle train him. She quickly became his favorite person and was one of the only people he trusted. Grace went beyond the walks and basic training and would sometimes ask if she could take him overnight to get him used to being around different dogs (hers) and people. He always loves these sleepover and has learned to better read other dogs and communicate as a result. Our boy has come a long way, and we owe so much of that to Grace and Lucky Dog!

This turned out to be the perfect place for our dog. Jeff and Grace keep great control over the animals, and keep the numbers way down. Our dog was unsure of herself for the first day or so, but quickly joined the pack because I believe she felt very safe at this place. Great big fenced areas to play in, and best of all communal sleeping on furniture! She felt right at home. Highly recommend this place. You can see her airborne flying with the pack in the second photo!

Within a couple of weeks, it was clear we needed some guidance on how to train him (and honestly, how to train ourselves too). From our very first call with Chris at Music City K-9 Training, we knew he was the right fit. We signed up for the 5-week Better Obedience program, and it was the best decision we could've made. Chris is not only super knowledgeable, but he's also patient and makes everything really easy to understand. He doesn't just train your dog--he teaches you how to handle situations with confidence and patience. By the end of the program, Maverick had made huge strides in his obedience, and my fiancé and I felt way more capable of continuing his training on our own. If you're looking for someone who truly cares and knows how to get results, I can't recommend Chris and Music City K-9 Training enough. liked the 6 week sessions and the price was decent so I signed up my puppy for puppy kindergarten…read moreclasses that began March 12, 2024 at noon. So we drove the 50 minutes with excitement and high hopes. This "club" is run on a volunteer basis so getting a hold of anyone is impossible. Emails are iffy even though they claim to have sent them, and I did check spam. At the training there were 3 instructors; only one was actually good. The main instructor spoke so low and quietly you couldn't hear her half the time . One participant , who was an older lady, had to tell her to speak up because she couldn't hear her but it didn't help. Then there was the blond hair lady who, for whatever reason, decided she had a problem with me. I arrived on time, barely spoke in class, took their instructions, and did my best with implementing those instructions on my puppy. Now here's the issue I had with this person. My positive reinforcement word for my puppy was "good girl" and I would bend down and say that to her every time she hit her training and give her a treat. This woman, I do not know her name or I would gladly put it here, came up on me, I mean very close to my face, and proceeded to say that I'm not saying my positive reinforcement word and did so rudely and with attitude. When I told her yes I'm saying it she looked at me and said, again rudely, "well I'm not hearing it." Hmm I didn't know I had to shout "good girl" for the entire class to hear. Since my dog reaches just above my ankles and when I bend down to praise her I figure she's the only one that needs to hear " good girl" and not the entire class. This instructor, I use that word lightly, was lucky that day. I took her rudeness and attitude and didn't call her on it. I should have but I figured I'd write this review instead She is rude, had attitude and wasn't much of an instructor. We did not return to class and have opted to put our pup in training at another facility. This woman needs to find something else to do. I will say this, there was one instructor, wish I knew her name and her information, who was great. She knew how to speak to people, give you advise without being rude. She would come to you and try to help you do a command while the other two would talk about their day. This instructor was a tall, thin older woman with gray hair. If she trains somewhere other than here I would gladly take my pup to. My advise is to find another training facility that is not run by volunteers and one that will actually help you in all aspects of training. This place is horrible!!!
