I was very displeased and will not go back. My appointment was at 8:00 and the groomer had not arrived for the appointment. I had to talk to the helper. So, what I conveyed to her was not shared with the groomer, let's call her V. V rushed in saying she had to take a phone call, so she did not acknowledge me. The helper put the lead around my 60 pound dog who was reluctant to leave me. When I looked up, she was literally dragging my dog across the floor by her neck. V did put a stop to that after I voiced that my dog could be hurt​. I had chosen the length to be between the second and third swatch for length, but more toward the third. My small dog was given what I can only imagine was not either because her skin was showing through. When I got my dog home, she was so miserable with scratching and biting and itching. I finally had to go buy oatmeal and coconut oil to bathe her in an oatmeal bath and soothe her skin further with the oil. The manager called me after I pointed out my experience. We had a nice conversation about having this be a learning experience and bringing these points up at their next meeting. Then V called. No matter what I said, she had a come back that placed blame on me, my dog, or some product that was used. I gave up trying to have a mutually beneficial conversation. I will never go back. I would give 0 stars if I could. The day I called to make an appointment for my kitten, they asked me if she had all her shots. I told them she only had one and the doctor had told us to wait a few weeks for the next ones. I then asked the worker on the phone if that was okay. she went to go ask someone else then came back on the phone saying it was perfectly fine. The next day I drove 30 minutes for her appointment, they asked about the shots and I told them what I said over the phone. they told me they couldn't take her in even tho they told me the day before that they could. read more

Oh my gosh! I cannot compliment the team led by Kayla enough. I brought in two dogs that had been rescued from a puppy mill. I had tried to bathe them but they were so matted. They were able to shave them down and clean them so well. They look adorable now. I actually gasped when I saw them. I'm planning on now bringing my two dogs to them. Wow. I'm shocked at the other reviews. I have no had any poor experiences here. I bring my dog here for grooming and have always been pleased afterwards. Homegirl has A LOT of hair which means a lot of shedding and for the most part, they get rid of a lot of that extra hair. She always smells great and seems happy. The staff has always been kind to me. They are always in stock of what I need in the store, and the one time they didn't have the dental sticks I needed, they called around to other stores to get them for me. I have been a regular customer of both Pet Smart, grooming, and Banfield for the last five years. On 5/5/2021, around 7:15 pm, I went to the store with my two dogs two pick up prescription food. At check out, I was approached by Jenny, Manager, who stated, "Don't let your dog pee right there. They are peeing on the product". Jenny was abrasive, demeaning, and rude She accused me of allowing my dogs to mark rather than bring attention to the situation and ask me to clean it up. I tried to communicate with her that I was looking at different dog bones advertised and did not see them "marking" the floor or product. She walked away and while I was in check out she returned and began yelling at me for my dogs that, once again, I did not see "marking". I have lived in the area for five years and have used Pet Smart regularly. I have never experienced the type of service in which a manager or employee yelled at a customer in front of both staff and customers. Every time I have shopped at the store, I have cleaned up after my dogs (if needed). The way she approached me was rude and uncalled for, especially in her position. I will state that I will not return to this store as this incident made both me and my dogs feel anxious and not welcomed. As most of my experiences have been pleasant at Pet Smart, I will not blame the overall corporation. However, when I feel that I am able to return will consist of two things. 1) The situation was addressed with the manager and 2) I am notified that the situation was addressed and what action was taken to resolve the situation. Until then, I will not return to this store and will let others know of my experience so that they are aware and will consider shopping elsewhere to avoid the same situation. I had a great experience taking my dogs in for a much needed pawdicure. The staff handled my nervous chihuahuas very well. My doggies nipped and fought to get away but the girls persevered to get their crazy talons clipped. A cotton swab to the ear and a final spritz of cologne, and my babies were looking and smelling fresh. I was happy with the service and will definitely take them back for grooming services. I refuse to set foot in this store ever again. It is *not* because of the employees but more about the company's practices. My last dog went to the vet here and I bought most of her stuff here. We used the Wellness Plan that covered some things when you go in for a vet visit. The plan is 12 months and you pay a certain amount every month. It doesn't really cover the things your dog will go to the vet for. Several months into the Wellness Plan my dog was diagnosed with cancer and died. We called to cancel the Wellness Plan and were told you cannot cancel even if your dog is lost, stolen, or dies. You are required to pay that monthly payment whether your dog is ALIVE OR NOT. I finally adopted another dog and I will only go to locally owned pet stores this time around and I will never purchase anything from this company again. read more

I brought in shampoo and conditioner for my dog's bath and they have the nerve to question whether it's prescribed from a vet AND they said they had to charge extra. Now listen here, I've been going to Petsmart Grooming for the past four years and I've NEVER been charged extra for bringing my own shampoo and conditioner nor have I ever been grilled for showing proof of vet prescription. To top it off, they were really rude and tacky in how they went about it. I cancelled my bath appointment on the spot and will never be returning to this location ever again. You've got some nerve scheming ways to make more money by charging extra when none of the other Petsmart has ever done it. Shady. Also, the way one of the groomers was handling the dog she was working on very roughly and was tugging at its ears to move the dog's head. I really prefer the other chain pet store over PetSmart. I had bought some bark sensors at another location that worked terribly from them because of convenience of location. When I returned them they would only allow the return to go on a card. Being I had money to spend, I decided to stop by this location. I needed a dog bed and a waterer that would allow the pug to drink with the cone on. They had dog specific waters, but unless you were buying the largest and most expensive, they didn't come with holders. Really? I also needed a bed since the pug and his cone won't fit comfortably in his kennel. They had some on sale for a great price, but of course they didn't have any. I could either get crappy one that the pug would not fit in or pay twice what the sale price was. We picked out a reasonably priced one that was good quality. I was wishing my card was for the other chain pet store at this point. The policy of returns only be allowed as a store credit sucks. It's my money, if I want it back because they have a inferior product I should be able to get it back, not be forced to use the money there. I get it - the stores are pretty much all the same... but I think the grooming department and the customer service is what makes each store unique. The best experience I had at this store was when I couldn't take advantage of a good deal on a huge-size bag of dog food. A very sweet employee offered to give me two bags of the next size down for the discounted sale price of the huge bag. I ended up getting more food for the price this way than had the huge bag been available. Kudos to her for making this work out - I had no idea they'd be willing to do this for a customer. As happy as I was with their customer service, I really wasn't impressed by their grooming department. I brought in my pup for a nail trim and when I told the groomer my dog had her info saved at the Merriam location she dryly told me that they don't share information. She clipped my dog's nails and was obviously exasperated while doing it. I didn't leave her sight the entire time because I had a feeling she would've done some leash or paw-yanking had I not been right in front of her. The pup's nails were okay, not as short as the folks at Merriam get them. Overall not bad, but not the kind of experience that made me want to come back. Our vet had just instructed us to 'take her to be groomed and ask that they trim her ears'. Picked her up - and the groomer said in the rudest, most combative tone imaginable 'you need to tell her vet to trim her ears. I don't do that'. Out $65, no bath and poorly trimmed. We won't be back. Kiya, our beloved pup, is a rescue and when we got her she was 30 pounds underweight with some serious separation anxiety and discipline issues. We've had her for over a year now and it's been slow going, but she is making incredible progress. A large part of that incredible progress is due to the training classes offered by this particular Petsmart location. Kiya has gone through two rounds of classes with Maggie and I can't say enough good things about this woman! She is smart, she is kind but firm, she is consistent and she balances an obvious affection for dogs with an uncompromising understanding of doggie boundaries and discipline. I took to calling her The Kiya Whisperer while we were in class, as she could get our very easily distracted dog to do the things we couldn't get her to do. Every time. This made it easier for us to work with her at home - once Maggie helped Kiya figure out what we wanted, it was easier to repeat outside the classroom. At home, Kiya listens. She doesn't chew our stuff, or jump the fence, or FREAK out when we kennel her, because we have learned how to replace the bored, bad behaviors with good behaviors. We are still working with her - dog training is an ongoing process and she is picking up new skills all the time. We have loved Kiya from the minute we brought her home. But Maggie and the Petsmart training team have ensured that we are happy with her behavior as well. In addition to a great training program, this location has a great selection of premium dog foods - important when your dog has food issues. Roxie, our kitty, also has some interesting health issues and Petsmart has her covered as well. Feliway is a miracle and they have it! The staff is always attentive and they always ask before giving Kiya a treat, which I appreciate. You have to make them earn it! read more

Rude staff long waits, no knowledge of whats causing my pets breakout after 3 months of "treatment" and 14 bags of $50 for 8 pound bag of food... run as fast as you can from Dr Coats or Koats however you spell it. Not to mention, the final time we went, they simply said he has an infection, nothing more, and i already had blood work done and knew that 3 months prior. Watch out for PetSmart grooming! I use to take my dog to PetSmart for grooming. I've taken her twice and always have had her appointment at the earliest time: 7 am. When I would take her they would always say," it should be a couple hours and we'll call you." Six hours later still have heard nothing. So I call and they say, "the groomers are with other dogs they should get to her soon." ????? Other dogs????? What has my dog been doing there for the last six hours??? Literally each "quick routine grooming appointment" is at the quickest a 9 hour production. When I finally was able to pick her up she immediately needed to use the restroom like she hadn't in 9 hours and drank a whole bowl of water because I doubt they ever gave her any. The first time I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe it was just a busy day, but for the same thing to happen twice...I'm not a fan. NEVER going back, ever. They do not take good care of puppers. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I usually prefer this store, as it is close to my home. The staff is very friendly and helpful, except for one specifically. I hate to say it, but a handicapped gentlemen that myself and my boyfriend have to avoid at all cost when we go in there or we will get stuck listening to him for 30 minutes talk about his past animals, additionally HE has never helped us find anything, we just get stuck listening to him ramble, in or out of the cashiers line. Most of the other staff is knowledgeable about food, treats, good brands for specific conditions...even give out coupons if you don't have them..I would give this store a 4 if it wasn't for this person specifically. The last time we went in, I had 2 coupons, printed from the same printer of course so they looked the same. I gave one to my boyfriend, and had one for myself and we were checking out separately, one transaction per customer, nothing wrong with that. Well, this specific gentlemen was checking us out, when he got to my boyfriends coupon, right after I checked out, said he couldn't take it because it was a copy, without even looking at the barcode. I pointed out to him the barcode numbers were not the same, and it said smaller print a few other things, they were even petsmart coupons and he just continued to argue with me, literally and I was trying to be calm, and he seemed VERY upset. THEN he slipped one of the coupons in his drawer and said I will have to call a manager, I said great. He called twice in about 30 seconds, turned to me and said well we are to busy. I was upset at that point, so I took my other coupon and left without purchase of the other bag of food. I called later to complain after calming down, the manager said come back and use it and said she would speak with the employee, however she didn't even ask a name or for his employee number when she said she would speak with her employee. I will give my money back to the local Barkery in Brookside, where they care about my animals and my business even if it cost a little more, I WILL NOT BE BACK. read more
