I just got a puppy so I have visited this Petsmart many, many times in the past 2 months. I think they're great! I have purchased various things, used their grooming service, visited for Santa photos, etc! Petsmart is pet friendly so I often bring my puppy along with me. I highly recommend this Petsmart! First things first, their app is great for discounts...but you need to activate the deals..it's not automatic. Sign up for a Treats acct to earn points towards dollars off your future purchases. Keep an eye out when you're supposed to earn bonus points because twice I've had to email corporate asking to add my points to my account. My puppy is a rescue and Petsmart offers a great coupon booklet for free if you rescued your dog. Just bring in paperwork validating your dog is a rescue, give them the # related to your Treats acct, and the booklet is yours. Great coupons inside including one for a free bag of dog food! My first purchase here was for puppy food when I found out I was bringing my dog home. I wanted to buy what his foster mom was feeding him. Petsmart not only had the food in stock but it was slightly better priced than chewy...much better priced than amazon. I found a coupon on the shelf that the dog food company had left for customers and earned Treats points! The store has lots of options of different products, outfits, toys, etc. Grooming - I have only been for the puppy bath, brush and trim. My first visit was well priced (discount for new grooming clients) and Amanda did a great job. I thought my puppy would be in and out but she kept him for 2 hours. Amanda took time when I was picking up my puppy to give me recommendations on caring for my dog's coat and when to come back. The booking process is easy online. Petsmart also constantly has coupons/deals on grooming. In the past 2 months I've seen buy 2, get 1 free; $15 off; etc. I also bought a $100 gift card and rec'd $15 bonus bucks (black friday deal). Training - I'm going to give it a try. Again, very well priced. The training area is fairly small but I have a small puppy so I think it will work out. There are endless deals on training as well. One I just rec'd is $40 off a package of classes. One time when I went in, their was a promotional co there and I rec'd a free collapsible water dish. Santa - We just had photos done with Santa. I didn't know what to expect so i'll leave some detail here. You must sign up for an appt ahead of time. They do not stick to the time. You arrive, check in, and then get in line. The Santa was not a great looking Santa but you got the idea. Humans can be in the photo. You can take the photo with your cell phone or if you want to be in the photo, there's someone from the store available to take the photo for you. This was all free. Petsmart is surrounded by two free parking lots. Parking is easy! read more

I was in the fish area. Needing help I asked a young person walking past me for help. She said I'm not clocked in and kept walking. Another employee standing nearby asked if she could help and I said yes. I was put off being dismissed by the other employee and commented that I would never treat a customer like that. She told me that the other person that was rude was the manager. The employee that helped me was in her sixties as am I. I am disappointed with youth when I have experiences like that. read more

The grooming in King Of Prussia is a disaster. I brought in my cairn terrier for a bath and nail clip. Cairns are double coated- with a harsher over coat that is over a softer under coat. When I picked him up, his entire outer coat had been stripped off leaving the softer undercoat exposed. This is NEVER to happen. Any maintenance to a cairns outer coat is gentle and done by ' hand stripping' a tedious process that removes only a few hairs at a time due to the potential canine trauma if removing more. When I picked up my dog, he was traumatized and in pain, judging from his behavior. His entire protective outer coat had been stripped off. When I spoke with a manager, they assured me that no shaving had occurred and that he had only been brushed. In order to remove a cairns entire outer coat by brushing, it would take a very aggressive action due to the level of pain it would inflict upon the dog. I had just brushed him gently before bringing him to Petsmart Grooming in King of Prussia. If they did not bring a shaver to the dog, it is far worse. It is canine abuse and the intentional infliction of pain to a creature. My happy puppy of this morning has been hiding and scared since I picked him up. Stay away. Stay far, far away if you love your dog. They cannot be trusted. read more

PetSmart is one of the staple stores for meeting all your pet needs. This store is rather large but mostly caters to dog owners. There are maybe 5 aisles in total for cat needs (food, toys, medicine, etc) as opposed to dog related aisles. You can still find food and stuff but it's just not a great selection compared to stores like PetCo or PetValu. read more

I have taken my dogs to this PetsMart for several years, but after my last two experiences, I am never going back. The first - I made an appointment for my dog (a standard poodle) to be bathed and his nails clipped. I did not want him groomed because it is so cold out. When I got there, they wouldn't do what I wanted - they said I had to make a grooming appointment because his fur was too long. I did that, and he was there for FIVE hours. When I picked him up and asked why he was there for so long, the employee had a real attitude and said that they had a lot of walk-ins. So, they put him in a cage until they had time for him!!! So, apparently, you are better off not making an appointment because you can just walk in and get service - and take the place of someone who does have an appointment. I'm really not a fan of this PetSmart. 2 reasons: 1) I always get the feeling the employees have been there too long and you know how that can manifest itself in a retail environment no matter if you're working around animals. An example of this is my last experience. The customer service associate cut me off mid-sentence as I was explaining I'd like to do a price check, "just say price check next time". I think he forgot he's at a PetSmart in a customer facing role where telling customers how to communicate their needs isn't part of his job description. It was surprising this associate couldn't do a job that is part of his description and that is properly scan and ring up a customer applying the price checked prices and the F&F discount. Disappointing experience for the retail haven, King of Prussia location. 2) The most annoying part about shopping here is last 2-3 times I went I needed to price check EVERYTHING many times just to PetSmart's website. Beware! Their prices online are way cheaper. They're a retailer that makes money off of charging different prices for items and it's up to the consumer to locate the best price. This creates an inconvenience factor topped with D-team customer service which means I won't be shopping at this location if I can avoid it... read more

I have Banfield vet service for my dog at PetSmart. I had a 5pm appt and the grooming service called to ask if I could come in at 12:30pm. I said yes. Arrived and then told needed proof of rabies vaccine. Banfield is in the same bldg. Rabies expired by 2-days and still would not groom my dog. Staff was young and very unprofessional. Staff thought it was funny that i couldn't get my dog groomed. Statement made from the back, now we can go home early on a Friday. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would! On the day of December 21st, at 0930 at this KOP store, an employee named Kezia was so rude to My wife. It's a busy time of the year, I get it, however there is NO justification for the way she treated my wife. We were late bringing our puppy in for a cut. We were late by a half hour. We planned on having our dogs nice and groomed for Christmas. Now, because of Kezia's very rude demeanor, we will NOT be using this store any longer. You did a great job of pushing us away. You couldn't even look to see if there was another opening..This is a very important time for us. Like I said, I get that it is a busy time, but again, my wife didn't have to be treated like crap by this employee. Unfortunately, this is a direct reflection of the store, and the management. I highly recommend using another company for your pet needs.. Again, This happened in KOP on December 21st at 9:30 am. Grooming: Do NOT allow groomer Kezia T. to groom your dog. I took my dog for a full grooming, we discussed and agreed on a 1/2 inch blade for a full body buzz which comes out to the longest length on their fur length chart. I confirmed with this groomer several times that my dog had had this for years with other Petsmart locations, we recently moved to the area but she could check our account history. She stated she would do this and I signed the paperwork. After 2.5 hours I was called and picked him up. She stated she decided NOT to groom his whole body because she didn't think it would look good. I stated I should have been consulted in the least, I am the pet owner. I stated we discussed, agreed, and signed for this service - why was it not done and why was he kept for 2.5 hours for a bath and back 2 legs trim? The store manager agreed with me that it was wrong, I should have been consulted, confirmed with the groomer that we agreed to what I was stating before the papers signed, and offered to have him trimmed as requested. I declined, he had been there long enough and this groomers actions and attitude turned me off to Petsmart grooming. The manager handled the situation well and stated I would not be billed as I did not get what I was promised. Though I appreciate how the manager handled this, I am now turned off to Petsmart grooming and will go to private groomers who will honor signed paperwork and act as professionals. This was not the groomers dog, it is not up to her to decide what looks good on him (the length was only going down 1/4 inch at most, I was not asking for drastic change - either way its my dog and I shouldn't have to justify what is done). I am at a loss for why he was kept for 2.5 hours. This took away the opportunity to have him groomed which I need for this weekend, and due to him being a past shelter dog he has issues with kennels and I'm not taking him to go through another grooming experience within the next week or so because it will cause anxiety issues. This has lost Petsmart a reputation and a client for their grooming services. I will be warning others of this experience because I'm sure most pet owners would prefer to be in charge and at least consulted about what services they have done to their pets instead of someone named Kezia choosing it for them due to her own preferences. Bottom line I should have been consulted, she should not have agreed and disregarded without consulting me, and my dog should not have been kept there for 2.5 hours with what was actually performed. read more

I love pet smart but not this petsmart. I trekked my way to the pet store with my 4 month old in her stroller and my 130 lb Great Dane. As you can imagine this is a struggle. My dog drizzled a little pee on the floor at check out and yea every owner is responsible for their dogs mess but when you have a 4 month old and huge af dog it isn't the nicest thing when the cashier tells you to "clean it up" and that it would "help him out a lot" if I did. Would have been a lot easier for him to do a small favor for a struggling customer. read more

Just got a call from Carla the store leader. She called me to tell me I was wrong. She explained to me that leaving a bad review on here is in poor taste without talking to her first. Welcome to the real world lady. You defend your employee that is mentioned here more than once as being a problem employee and degrade me for writing something on a site where reviews are meant to be written. Stay away from KENZIA people. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GROOMERS ALL TOGETHER. Absolute zero compassion for your pet. I happily will spend the extra money to go Heart and Paws where they care about their clients and the pets they bring in. Lack of integrity and respect is an epic problem in here. I wouldn't trust these people with a pet rock Awful experience. Showed the woman a picture of my dog which she wouldn't even look at. Yet then proceeded to ask what I wanted done. There was another person dropping off there dog getting shamed for it having a little matting. Show some empathy for the people that choose to come here with there pets and keep you employed. I should've listened to my gut instinct and left right away but I did not. After explaining and showing a picture upon pick up my dog was simply shaved down with numerous spots that were missed. The hair on her ears was not cut as asked for several times during the drop off. And I was charged for matting which is fine if the time is taken to brush out the matting with the tool made for that. But they just shaved it off whIch takes no extra time. I've been to groomers that have taken the time to do it. These people are just getting them in and out trying to make a quick tip. I had another appt two days later for my other dog but cancelled after the way I saw them treat clients and the pets they working on while I was there. I was very disappointed with my Dogs first Big doggie haircut with Amber in this pet smart. After a already $60 haircut, she convinced me my dog needed a special type of conditioner and a extra nail service. Leaving me with a total $85 bill. My dog having longer hair ( havanese) and me stressing to her several times to keep hair on him, I thought the extra $20 conditioner would help. However, when I picked him up, I didn't even recognize him. I told her right away I was not Happy. She stressed using a specific comb because she claimed his hair was matted. Not possible, Since I brush him every other day and his hair is soft and hes still only 6months old.. After, a few hours I called and explained my disappointment again, and All I heard were excuses as to why she had the right to chop My dogs hair completely off. And why she felt it was needed for me as the Person who was very specific as to what I wanted and she didn't care about keeping me Happy. She just did whatever she wanted to do. Basically butchered him and cut his Hair like a girl. Which leaves me with the question. " What was the extra conditioner for if you were gonna just cut all his hair off anyway? And again, I was very specific to what I Didn't Want... I think it's terrible. And being a person who also works in the business of service I was extremely surprised and disappointed by how my concern was dealt with and how I was left with nothing offered and no Sincere apology to my concerns. I ran in quickly after work to pick up a case of cat food on my way to an appointment. The case was heavy as i stood in line at the register. i was only 1 person back from the register but the lab and his human who were ahead of me were busy picking out a chew stick from the bucket by the counter so i waited. Just a minute passed when another employee showed up and waved me to her register. i figured the line was getting long so they decided to open up a second register but when i glanced behind me, i was the only one in line. Had some pretty negative experiences with booking grooming over the last few months. Every time I book (3-4 weeks in advance), I'm called a few days before my appt asking if I can come in earlier. When I call back, no one knows what I'm calling about and I get given the runaround and put on hold (15 minutes of hold once, and a transfer to someone new who had no idea what I'd told the first person!) when I don't even want to be on the phone with them to begin with. I get the wrong appt reminders and wrong confirmation messages, then judgmental tones when I'm a few minutes late or don't call back within their desired timeframe. No apology or even thanks for calling back or being flexible. We are all busy and customer service is hard but some basic respect for your customers' time is appreciated, esp when dogs require consistent grooming and appts aren't exactly easy to come by. I've been a customer of PetSmart for years. While the new location was very convenient to where I was living in King of Prussia (before I moved) I really dislike the new store. The reason for that is simple, it is much SMALLER than the previous location and because of that they have had to reduce the selections of many products (including the food I used to buy for Buddy). The grooming area is now tiny (not that is was huge over in Berwyn) but it is far too small for the volume it handles. I do like the people and the groomers that work there, it is the size of the location that stinks. read more

All of the employees here have been very nice and very approachable. My issue is only with selection. They have a terribly small selection of fish. This place is less than one mile from me and I won't even bother to go there for fish or aquarium-related products. I'm stuck going much further for fish and just shopping online for products. I'm surprised to see as many negative reviews as I'm seeing here. Admittedly, I don't go a lot; just once or twice a year to buy supplies for the koi in my back yard koi pond. But every time I've gone the staff has been as helpful and friendly as they can be. Having worked retail for many years, I know how it can be on the other side of the counter and that at times the customers get the best of clerks, especially ones who may be new or under pressure from people above them. When a clerk hears the hundredth customer ask the same question, he or she may blame the customer for not knowing something "obvious," and see that customer as representing all customers. It's wrong to do that but human, and something that the clerk may self-correct shortly. read more

WARNING!!!! DO NOT RETURN AN ONLINE PURCHASE AT THIS STORE!!! You will lose your sales tax. I would understand if they didn't refund shipping, but to not refund the sales tax is totally incorrect and wrong. They didn't know what they were doing when they issued the return, and did it as "no receipt" when I clearly had 2 receipts with me indicating precisely what I paid. The store is always clean and carries a good selection, but my 5 stars is for the GROOMING department. My dog is beyond nervous about having his nails clipped, and when we first adopted him I was afraid we were going to have to sedate him at the vets to have it done. I just took him for his second (!) nail clipping and I can't say enough good things for the women who work there. They are patient, understanding, and so helpful in calming my dog (and me!) -- plus they are efficient and do a great job. Thankful for this place! read more
