At the Saint Lucie location They had puppy training and it was very good it's actually training you to train your dogs! My pup learned to WAIT when the front door was opened. that is a must for dogs so they don't dash out in front of of you! I will NEVER return to this location or any location to have my dogs groomed. I took both of my dogs to this location for a bath & full haircut @ 12:30 pm & received a phone call @ 4:30 pm to tell me my dogs were ready for pickup. Upon my arrival, I see that only one dog has been groomed and the other one was not. I was explained that my dog was 'aggressive' & that he bit the groomer while she attempted to groom him. I have NEVER, NEVER received this type of feedback from any of the Petsmart groomers, EVER. He's been going there for over 2 years. I find it quite troubling that I wasn't informed of this until I arrived . By the way, they close at 5 & I have a suspicion that b/c it was closing time, Katie ( & the rest of her staff) chose NOT to groom him. I'm livid. Katie could have easily picked up the phone well before 4:30 & explained the situation. So, I call B.S. all the way around. NEVER USE PETSMART FOR ANY GROOMING ! My Wife brought our dog Coco to the Leesburg petsmart location for a trim and a bath. This is the second time we've used petsmart for this purpose and while there the first time it was overly stated that she was to take a 1/2 inch off and Katie was going to use the clippers and my wife stopped her, she thought she was supposed to leave a 1/2 inch. My wife asked them to use scissors and not clippers and again today she used the clippers Coco is a Havanese with long hair with black tips that was absolutely stunning until she was placed in Katie's care today, now she is buzz cut with none of her attributes. My wife explained to Katie that she only wanted an inch of hair removed from coco and she took the clippers to her and cut all of her hair off, this is after she had been there for 2 1/2 hours and according and to petsmart the night before the only dog Katie had scheduled this morning. After my wife spoke to the manager Johnathan he said that he wouldn't charge for the cut. Way to step and try to make things right! They never finished the cut, her face was never trimmed and what she trimmed on her body was a half assed job at best with different lengths on her back and chest. If you dare to bring your pet to this place for grooming keep in mind that you have been WARNED. go to a real groomer and don't waste your time and money for sub par efforts by people who don't care! read more

They cut my cat's hair so he wouldn't be so hot during the summer. They did a fine job and handled him with care and ease. You can stay in the same room with them and watch how your pet responds to their care. This is the second time we've brought Cooper to PetSmart. read more

I recently took my German Shepherd here to get his first grooming since we adopted him 2 weeks ago. I would like to spotlight Kael for being so warming and kind while handling our puppy. Our dog, Rowdy, is in training classes due to him only being around his brother and sister for the past year. Due to this, he is learning how to behave and socialize with other dogs. When he sees them he begins to get anxious and barks. The 3 stars are for how Christy and Kael handled him and spoke with my husband and I about the situation. However, I can not give a full 5 stars due to how the other members acted, and sat around discussing us and our dog as if we were training him to be aggressive. This rubbed me entirely wrong, having to continue to reiterate that we are taking him to classes to get him trained and he's a gentle giant. I didn't appreciate the whispers, the stares or side comments. Completely unprofessional! read more

We used to bring our elderly dog to this PetSmart for grooming, and were satisfied with their work, but then a groomer who had been recommend3d to us moved to just a mile down the rod from us, so we switched to them. We would probably shop at PetSmart more than we do if it were closer, but we do still buy our dog food there. We get out cat food in more bulk online. PetSmart also provides adoption services on site for the county animal shelter and help host adoption events just outside their entrance to the mall. That is more convenient for most people than driving to the county shelter just outside Tavares. I see a review trashes PetSmart due to an ill cat that was adopted. That is always traumatic, but it seems likely the fault was more on the animal shelter. Perhaps PetSmart needs a better process to communicate issues like this to the shelter. read more

I took my dog there 3 times and will NOT go back. The first time, I expected my mid-sized Lab mix to be anxious, so I thought nothing of it. The second time, they called me back within the hour to come get her because she would not let them cut her nails and was overly anxious. There was no charge at that time, but they suggested I bring her when it wasn't busy so that she wouldn't get so anxious. Advice taken. I made her third appointment on a day they said would not be busy and indeed there were only two other dogs there upon arrival. Two hours later, I picked her up and was told that she would not let them cut her nails but that she got her bath. My family and I noticed that she did NOT SMELL CLEAN. Making me suspicious if they even gave her a bath at all. They charged me full price and I left the groomer a tip, but my poor dog left there anxious and she pulled on the leash so hard, I fell to the ground right in front of the sliding doors, scraping my knees and causing some bruising on an arm, where I fell. In the past, PetSmart groomed my pet German Shepard many times. Now just recently after dropping him off and showing his rabies vaccination records, they informed me to pick him up in 3 hrs. Not even within 30mins after dropping him off, they called me and asked if I could pick up my pet, because they couldn't clip his nails. They informed me that no technician there was qualified to groom his nails and that my German Shepard wouldn't let them. They told me that they never had a record of any past grooming of my pet. I told them that they have before. She asked how long it has been, and I said over a year. She said then that explains it. She informed me after upgrading their system that all pets that had been groomed older than six months had been removed from their database. So in a nut shell this was the first time that they saw my pet and never groomed him before. Needless to say that they didn't do any services to him. Not even brushing him. They didn't charge me for what little work they did. However I am still getting invoices on their app about My pet's grooming. When I came to pick him up, he was quite anxious. Immediately when I took him outside, he couldn't wait to use the bathroom and started urinating at the same time walking with me. They traumatized him, not letting him use the bathroom, nor did anything beneficial to him. I will have to say don't bring your pet to PetSmart. Do not book with Diana T. - I have been taking my 15 yrs old dog for over 5 years to PetSmart but this location has been the worst. We recently moved to town and this was the closest location to me and recently they decided to not take my dog for grooming anymore. Not only did the wrong type of haircut but the groomer Diana T. argued that my dog was not easy to handle. I have taken my dog like a said, for over 5 years to different PetSmarts and no groomer never had told me that. Some groomers at other locations even told me that they will give my senior dog breaks so she doesn't get tired. All the time, I've been told that they will take good care of my dog and that they will be patient with her, but this groomer, Diana, in specific was denying service to my senior dog like no senior dogs have issues to stand for long hours. There are other reviews with the same issues for senior dog but if they can only take cute puppies, then bet that they are not providing the best care to your fur babies. We dropped our goldendoodle off to be groomed last spring. When we came to pick her up the person tending the desk said "I'll go get your poodle, at least that is what she looks like!" She wasn't lying. They shaved her head, muzzle and half her tail, not because she was matted and couldn't be groomed. Not sure exactly why. We even gave direction regarding what we wanted done and how we wanted her look. I vowed to NEVER trust them with our girl again. In four years of owning my Maltese(s) I have always groomed them myself groomed them myself. I went out of town and my husband thought he would give it a go with the clippers and relized he was way over his head so what did he do? He rushed him to PetSmart to finish the job. He expected the body to be cut low to correct his mistakes but he had not touched the head. Asking them for a fluffy puppy/teddy SQUARE face cut and ... well look at the photos. My Maltese had a fulllll face of hair before mind you so plenty to work with. I could live with the hideous hair cut - it will grow back but then a week and 1/2 later ... FLEES. Like, super sonic flees. It was not that many but my dogs are on Revolution Flee prevention so this shouldn't have even been a thing. Again, in 4 years, my dog has never had flees. Ok ok so that problem was fixed whatever it happens. NOW the dog that was groomed has the worst tear stains I have ever seen. We noticed the tear stains and they have just been progressively getting darker and darker ... like brunet nastiness. I gave him a bath and went to clip his nails per usual and that same brown substance is on this nails! Like...wth... it's located at the base of the nails where they grow and I can scrape it. IDK but my dogs sleep in the bed with me so we are not having this. Back to the vet after the weekend! All of this because my husband decided to do the one thing I tell him not to do... attempt to groom the dog. read more

I usually love this PetSmart. Come here all the time! And the first grooming I took my dog to was amazing. Katie was so nice and knew what she was doing. But ohhhh man. There's a groomer named Sue there now. She's extremely rude and decided to charge me for add ons that I didn't even ask for!!! Granted, if she would have asked, I would have probably agreed to the extra product, but she did it all without mentioning it to me until afterwards. Ridiculous. Edit: The manager, Terry, is awesome!! I'm usually not the guy to complain but I told him my situation and he offered to not charge me for the add ons. He made a 2 star experience into a 4 star one! read more

We take both are doggies to the Leesburg location. Very small and very busy usually. My only complaint is I wish it was a little bigger inside. But never an issue with the haircut or grooming for both our dogs. Everyone, as hectic as it is, is always nice and professional. Will continue to go there. read more

Our family pet who had been going there since SHE was a puppy (now almost 3) was declined because according to them "HE is aggressive every time" ?!? Last 2, SHE had shown anxiety to the fast dry machine and I was told last time (when given her back still wet, but handed a towel, ugh;) that the enclosure ones would be a better fit, but I would need to bring her in @ 9. ( 1'st thing) to get it completed; tried to book online; said I had to call to only be told this?!?! Needless to say if they say these things on a long time client, obviously they don't care for fine details nor the special care needed ... a shame for I am disabled and my large breed dog is a lot to get her nails especially for me if u care like I care for my beloved pet, I don't think THIS place would be "the right fit". We have taken our 12 year old dog to this location numerous times. But most recently they've declined our dog due to his extreme hip arthritis stating "because it took two people to hold him still that they can no longer bathe him" he's a bigger Lab 70lbs or so. But its very disheartening that they would turn away our business due to old age. Every other time we've been there it was great but this last time is making me take my business elsewhere. read more

We adopted a cat from pet smart here in Leesburg fl. I am extremely disappointed at the staff. The adoption counselor treated us like we were stupid and only wanted us to buy stuff no matter how many times I said I had stuff because I have two other cats. We had a vet appointment planned exactly the 14th day after we adopted her (due to work and child care etc. couldn't get sooner.) cat had a history of uri's it happens ok. Well one day took a total of like 8 hours and the cat had passed. It had distemper which has exact signs of rabies and it was the most terrifying experience. No sleep fear and the stress of having to get animal control out to take the cat to test it for rabies was ridiculous. I feel for the cat I love my fur babies. My babies love them. It was heartbreaking trying to come up with something to tell my young daughter. I emailed petsmart about it on 6/3 and still to this day they have said nothing!!!!!! They responded to the survey I did about the worker but never on the cat no apologies no nothing!!! Considering it is a shelter cat trying to be adopted you would think petsmart would up their standards to make sure the cat was healthy and at really good standards before they put them up for adoption!!!!!! read more

This is the worst place in FLORIDA to take your pets for grooming, They are rude and incompetent at this location. The staff cannot do the nails of a 17 pound dog, They make you feel like an ax murderer if they find anything wrong with your dog. My dogs nails were curling and cutting her nails I was told is too traumatic for the GROOMER. On a side note Shereen is the rudest store employee, she is toooooo busy and important to help you with anything. If I found her working at anywhere else I would leave and never go back. Run, do not walk from this location. There is a Pet Lodge and spa right down the road where they are polite and do a good job. This is my first ever yelp review, hope it helps someone in advance.
